For Chronic Pain "Mallinckrodt 15mg IR oxycodone - I have needed to take Oxycodone for years treating chronic pain. After trying nearly all generics, Activis brand always seemed most effective, providing pain relief while not negatively affecting energy or attitude. Recently, my pharmacy unfortunately switched to Mallinckrodt due to supply issues. From personal experience, along with comments from others, they are not nearly as effective, seeming to have a placebo effect. I have long felt some manufacturers have changed initial formulations, thus altering its addictive nature and strength. At any rate, I am noticing less pain relief, more lethargy, and lack of motivation with extreme tiredness after taking IR Mallinckrodt. If others would like to share experiences, please do, as I am seeking viable solutions."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I was on OxyContin for 15 plus years, and I went to fill my prescription, but the insurance company cut me off. After a week of awfulness, I got my new medication Xtampza. I've only been on it for 4 days, and it's been the worst. I was fine on OxyContin except for constipation, and I had that figured out. I take my Xtampza and about 30 minutes later, I feel like I am at the end of my life. I'm so depressed and crying. Then, about 1 to 2 hours later, the depression is gone. I hope this is not going to continue, or else I need something else for pain. I feel like I have the flu and other issues. I'm not sure if it's the Xtampza or results from stopping the OxyContin. I don't understand why the honest, sick old people get screwed because these drug addicts are abusing drugs. This opioid war is hurting good people that need pain relief. The addicts will just find another way to abuse the system."

For Pain "VA is now prescribing oxycodone made by Rhodes Pharma to its chronic pain patients. This stuff is pure garbage. IT DOES NOT WORK!!! I went through withdrawal and was sick for a week as soon as they switched me to this. I, like countless other reviewers, now live with increased pain, nausea, upset stomach, and depression. My life has been turned upside down. This is how the government treats its vets. It's DISGRACEFUL! My only hope is that enough people will come forward and expose this fake garbage they are giving us."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Due to a forehead injury, I have chronic nerve pain. But my excruciating pain was well-controlled when I was taking OxyContin 20 mg AM & PM, with 4 Tramadol and 4 Percocet 10 mg a day as needed for breakthrough. But that all changed when insurance would no longer cover OxyContin and the pandemic hit, and there is a shortage of generic OxyContin 20 mg. Now I take Xtampza ER 18 mg. I take it with a high-fat food as suggested, and this medication is useless. I'm so depressed and not sure how much longer I can go on. My doctor mentioned putting me on Dilaudid ER and Dilaudid 10 mg 4 times daily, but Dilaudid is stronger and I would rather not have to take something stronger when the alternative lesser medication used to work fine! But I can't go on like this much longer! For those that Xtampza is effective for, I'm very happy for you, but for those of us that it is no help, or in my case, I think it makes the pain worse, it's devastating! God bless you all!"

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I too was forced to use something other than MS Contin. Xtampza was chosen, and I suffered through it for 3 weeks before calling my physician in tears to let him know that I had no relief whatsoever from the pain, and as well, I was experiencing headaches, diarrhea, and deeper depression. I was then given a prescription for Belbuca film. Would have liked to try it, but insurance doesn't cover it, and it costs $475 a month! What are we to do???"

For Chronic Pain "I was taking KVK Tech brand oxycodone 10 mg for over a year, and it works fine for me, but recently my pharmacy has switched over to Rhodes brand, which is RP 10. Let me tell you, this is the worst brand I’ve taken. It causes awful stomach pain, sore throats, depression, and headache. It doesn’t help with my pain. Anyone else have this problem? I will report it to the FDA, pharmacy, and call my doctor about it."

For Chronic Pain "I have tried many types of drugs for my 30 years of chronic pain, after experiencing the many side effects and damages to my body from all these experiments (ulcers in my esophagus and stomach, depression, and many more damages). I have found oxycodone is effective and the least damaging to my body. I take 10mg per day, three times a day, and it works well for me. My only problem with this opiate crisis is it’s almost impossible to get it, but it’s my body and I know what works for me. I am not addicted, and I only take it as prescribed. That is what really bothers me because I have to be in pain, and there’s something that can help me and I'm begging to get it. But you can’t beg because then you’re addicted, and if you don’t ask for and tell him that’s the only thing that works after 30 years of experimentation. I take it as prescribed, and it allows me to work and be able to enjoy my grandchildren, so why do I have to lay in my chair all day and collect disability?"

For Chronic Pain "I just switched pharmacies and was given the Rhodes generic for my 10/325 oxycodone prescription, which I’ve been taking for just over a year now, and it’s been an absolute nightmare this week. No pain relief and full-blown withdrawal symptoms within the first 24 hours. Depression, suicidal thoughts, and I’m feeling just awful. I called the chain pharmacy I switched to, and they said they cannot swap or help me, so I’m stuck in this nightmare for the month. Had I known generics varied from being legitimate for pain relief to completely useless, I would have done research and requested a certain brand. I can’t believe this is an actual thing in 2022. I filled out the form for the FDA that someone else posted, making an official complaint, and I’d honestly like to send some of the pills out to get tested and checked. Thank you to everyone who took the time to leave your feedback as I now know I’m not alone."

For Chronic Pain "KVK TECH brand oxycodone is more garbage being put on the market in the name of fighting opioid abuse. Seems like all the instant releases are now just don't work and are making people with real pain, who need this medication, very sick with no relief. These companies and the doctors prescribing do not care!!! This is a numbers game. I had a new lease on life after being prescribed opiates for my pain, and now I'm a depressed, useless mess in extreme pain with zero hope for the future. An addiction problem would be a walk in the park compared to what they have caused me to go through."

For Chronic Pain "I have been on pain medicines for almost 13 years. I'm turning 30 in July. I started low at 5 mg Percocet, then 10 mg, and then they threw in 20 mg of OxyContin on top of my 10 mg Percocet. Nothing worked well, not even the OxyContin. I'm now on 30 mg Oxycodone, and I do love it, yet it doesn't take away pain, just gets my mind off it and gives me so much energy and motivation. That's an odd side effect for depression. I'm looking for a medicine that is stronger for when I have the serious breakthrough pains. Never want to lose the Oxycodone 30."

Oxycodone for Pain "My husband has degenerative disc disease. He has had a two-level spinal fusion on his L5 and S1 discs, as well as two rods and six screws of hardware in his spine. He was only 27 years old when this injury happened. I totally feel for anyone who has to suffer from back pain. It changed his life forever. Normal activities that people take for granted every day were almost impossible for him to do. He's been through numerous doctors and has tried every pain medication out there. He now takes 30 mg Roxicodone six times a day. It has totally been a lifesaver for him and given him his quality of life back. He still has some pain and bad days, but nothing like before."

Oxycodone for Pain "I used this medicine under strict supervision at a pain management center after failed trials with Opana and Kadian, which made me ill. Vicodin was not strong enough as I have had open back surgery from my skull to mid-back to drain a spinal cord cyst called a 'syrinx.' My spine was arthritic and required struts to rebuild it; I now have chronic acute pain just holding up my head (max 5-6 hours at a time). I also have chronic low back pain, arthritis, and herniation with a tear. Thankfully, it relieved my pain and helped me function somewhat normally for 5-6 months. Then one month, the refill arrived two days late and I went through withdrawal, suffering horribly with dark suicidal ideation and depression. I got off it. Now on Percocet, not ideal."

For Pain "Stay away from this drug. I've been on Targin 10/5 for 6 months now. I was taking 3 tablets per 24-hour period and sometimes 4. At first, it took the edge off, but I found over the next few months I needed more. In doing this, I felt like rubbish. Dizzy, vertigo, depression, constipation, and absolutely no sex drive, no patience, frustration is another con. Losing appetite, sleeping is a chore. At the moment, I am taking half a tablet morning and night, and the effects are really playing with my mind. It's been 2 days now, and the thoughts of suicide are always there. Even friends have noticed the difference in my life, for the worst, I can't stop shaking. Eating is a chore, this drug is so addictive. I would rather be in pain than continue taking Targin. It has ruined my life."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Oxaydo caused me worse pain. It had me to where I was unable to walk due to hip and leg pain and burning, which also caused me depression because it was causing me so much pain. I thought my condition was getting worse, and I thought I was going to end up in a wheelchair. But after researching and learning opioids can do that, I stopped them cold turkey, and I have never felt better. I still have pudendal nerve and back pain, but I will never take this medicine again."

For Pain "I've had moderate to severe joint pain for 6 years now. I was given propoxy for my back pain, but it didn't take away the joint pain. I was given oxycodone to try, and no more joint pain. I can't take propoxy and oxycodone at the same time, which would make me completely pain-free! I have degenerative joint and disc disease, osteoporosis in my left hip due to SI joint arthritis, sciatica, and depression. I take only half of oxycodone."

For Chronic Pain "Rhodes Pharmacy 5 mg oxycodone has saved my life. Oxys from other companies like KVK made me feel depressed, high, and sick to my stomach, but gave me pain relief still. And one day my pharmacy supplied Rhodes P. for the first time, and bingo! I fell for it ever since. In my case, Rhodes P. components cope perfectly with my body and feel practically normal and almost pain-free with 2 to 3 x 5 mg per day. A piece of advice, be active and try to exercise as much as you can, and don't rely on this med to solve your physical problems, and remember, always be positive!"

For Pain "Following my surgery, I was given oxycodone instead of Percocet 'to protect my liver.' Oxycodone had an immediate effect that lasted just 30 minutes, and then the pain returned each time. What was worse was the psychotropic effect of this drug on me. While taking oxycodone for 4 days, I was depressed, restless, and constantly brooding about the ills and suicides of others. Oxycodone was very bad for me, and its psychotropic and near-hallucinatory components must be exposed. I switched to Tylenol with codeine and felt back to myself the following morning."
