For Pain "I have suffered from a double fusion on my lumbar spine since 2006. I have tried every known pain medicine in the book with no success until the doctor prescribed the last and only medicine that actually worked, OxyContin."

For Chronic Pain "I have taken this drug for over 20 years for chronic pain. If I stop 1 person from starting this drug, then it has been worth it. Initially, it was the best pain reliever I ever tried. The problem is it is very addictive and stops working. The only way to sustain relief is to increase the dosage. I started at 60 mg and wound up at 200 mg. Unfortunately, at that dosage over the years causes brain cell deterioration. Remembering things becomes difficult, like family functions. In time, you become a walking zombie and numb to everything around you. You will lose interest in life and become drug sick if you don't take your pill on time. Your relief will no longer be there because it stops working after time. I am off now and have my life back."

For Pain "I have suffered RLS since about 5 years of age. Now 78. Nothing would stop it - neurologists tried all usual medication, pergolide, clonazepam, etc. Then saw new GP in 60s who also suffered badly and he had in desperation tried OxyContin with great relief. Suggested I tried one 10 mg tablet before going to bed or when traveling as a passenger in a car - this was intolerable. Found tablet worked like magic and although reliant on it still take the same 10 mg but one tablet first thing in the morning and one prior to going to bed - about 1 hour before. Found it does not always work at night so I can be up until 3 am walking the floor nearly going insane as pain in legs is so bad. However, 90% of the time I do get incredible benefit."

For Chronic Pain "I was on 4 x 5 mg Oxycodone IR for my pain. After a year or so, I felt I needed an extra pill to cover me for 24 hrs. Doctor switched me to OxyNeo 2 x 10 mg every 12 hours plus 5 mg of Oxycodone for breakthrough if needed. The first 2 days I felt great, OxyNeo took care of the pain, and I did not feel drowsy or tired. However, after the 3rd day, I started feeling very agitated and angry after I took my OxyNeo. I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone reacted like this to long-acting Oxycodone? Too bad because I liked this long-acting one, but feeling angry all day is not worth it either."

For Pain "I'm 19 years old and have been suffering from severe testicular and groin pain for the past 5 months, due to a sports injury. It prevented me from doing the things I had previously loved doing. I couldn't go back to school, and I'd be in bed all day. But now that my pain doctor has put me on OxyContin 20 mg twice a day, I feel like I'm getting my life back. This medication keeps my pain at bay. Before, I'd be going through an average of 8/10 pain every day, but OxyContin miraculously brings it down to a 2-3! I really mean it when I say OxyContin is a Godsend for a male who's going through testicular pain caused by numerous problems. Best of all, it doesn't make me tired, so I can properly function throughout the day!"

For Chronic Pain "I have Fibromyalgia and major back problems. Recently, I visited the ER for my back, and they gave me Tylenol 3, which did nothing for my pain. I went to the doctor a few days later and told him I need something stronger, and he prescribed me 10mg of OxyContin twice per day. I can only tolerate taking one per day (any more makes me throw up), but since starting this medicine, it has significantly reduced my all-around pain levels by at least 85%! I am grateful for this medicine."

For Pain "I played football in college and took a severe hit in the back. I now have 4 bulging discs and 2 deteriorating discs in my spine. The doctors gave me OxyContin right away knowing the pain I was in. That was 4 years ago and today I take (2) 80mg, (1) 40mg, and (8) Percocet 10/325's daily. Last summer I was able to run a 5K race. OxyContin has given me back what was stolen from me in college. I am 90% pain free and have no regrets about being on this drug. I can't recall ever having any side effects."

For Chronic Pain "I have been on opiates for 15 years now because of a degenerative condition on my C5 and C6 disks and a sterno-clavicular joint with constant subluxation and arthrosis. 3 years ago I was prescribed OxyContin 20 mg 2x daily, and for breakthrough pain, I simply chew 1/3 to 1/2 of a 20 mg OxyContin tablet. Less side effects than morphine and much better pain management combined with Celecoxib and Paracetamol. I do not overmedicate when I do not need it since I had such bad experiences with tramadol addiction, that stuff was vile. Sometimes I take it a few weeks in a row and pause when I can to lessen the habituation, and I never will get dependent. 42 pieces of 20 mg OxyContin tabs are enough for like 2 months of quality life as it very effectively takes the edge off the pain that I have every time I am standing or being active for more than a few hours in a row. Besides some pruritus (itching) from time to time and the occasional constipation I get from OxyContin, all is well. An 8+ out of 10 from me!"

For Chronic Pain "I was hit by an 18-wheeler. I fractured my spine. My doctor prescribed OxyContin because I'd been taking high doses of acetaminophen for years, which affected my liver. I took OxyContin successfully for 3 years 'til the US government decided chronic pain patients are expendable. I successfully weaned off of OxyContin, without any help! My doctor made sure I had enough to wean off before he left his practice. Reality: Only 0.3 percent of chronic pain patients ever become addicted. The US government has recently admitted to fraudulent and overstated numbers, elevated by over 50 percent! I've done every other treatment recommended by doctors, most incredibly expensive and invasive. Nothing worked, and I've been bedridden for the past 3 plus years."

For Chronic Pain "I'm an ex-flooring installer of 17 years (11 years non-union, 6 union years). My back is wrecked. I have tears in 2 of my discs at L3/L4 and L4/L5 locations. I have no cartilage left anywhere in my lower back. My PCP put me through the tests, multiple MRI's/CT's, injections, lots of prednisone, and then finally Norco. It took me a few days of being on Hydrocodone before the relief started, but relief it was! I gained much of my functionality back. I was moved up to the higher doses and then on to OxyContin ER. OxyContin had fewer side effects and, in general, felt less wasted. I'm now on 60mg x3 daily with 20mg IR 3x daily. It's been very helpful in my life."

For Chronic Pain "This medication is great for my chronic back pain. I have been on the same dose for over two years, and it helped me get through most of the day just on two 20mg pills. Lately, it has stopped working as well, and I am having a lot of breakthrough pain as the OxyContin is extended release. From it working for almost 6 hours per dose, it now only helps for about 2 hours. It is great if you are also given something for breakthrough pain, but I cannot imagine being off of it, to be honest. I have had severe chronic lower back pain due to a pinched nerve, which causes shooting pain that goes up and down my spine and even causes my legs to go numb. I also have carpal tunnel in my right hand and fibromyalgia. Overall, this medication has been very helpful."

For Chronic Pain "I have been prescribed OxyContin 60mg for well over 6 years now. In just the last 2 months, I have gotten a refill. I know for a fact that either the manufacturer or where they get their medication through, there has been a shortage of the medication per the dosage compared to what it used to be. I don't know at what level this is occurring. Whether this is another government regulation that says if someone is prescribed 60mg tablets, the manufacturer is only allowed to put 30mg in that tablet? I have been on this same medication for a long time, and starting December 2015 and January 2016, my medication has been shorted. My body goes through tremendous withdrawal symptoms each month I refill this medication. I need an answer."

For Chronic Pain "The extended-release OxyContin works the same for pain relief as Percocet, but with barely any side effects. Doesn't make me nearly as foggy or give me that euphoric feeling that Percocet does. I can focus better during the day and sleep through the night without waking up needing more pills."

I have tried just about everything for a back injury and my doctor finally put me on 20mg OxyContin twice a day and Hydrocodone 10/650 every 8 hours for breakthrough pain. I've finally got my life and my family back. God bless the makers of OxyContin."

For Chronic Pain "I had knee replacement years ago, when they got in there, it was a lot worse than what they thought. I ended up with steel from almost my hip to halfway down my shin. This has made a difference in my walking and being wheelchair-bound. With OxyContin, I can shop and do normal things. Without the pain relief it gives me, I would be useless."

For Chronic Pain "I have had chronic pain since I was 14 (now 60). I have tried every RX suggested, multiple pain clinics, too many surgeries to count, exercise, meditation, acupuncture, and hypnotherapy, with nothing gained but side effects or increasing tolerance. I have been taking OxyContin for 10 years and have since been able to put the pain on a back burner and get back to my life. The 'pendulum swings,' as they say, continued back and forth medical opinions on the treatment of chronic pain. The insurance companies now seem to be in complete control again, and cost becomes the number one consideration in prescribed treatment. It matters not what my doctor says or recommends, the cost is such that, as of this month, I can no longer take OxyContin. I am so tired, back to bed I go."

For Chronic Pain "I have been living with chronic knee and back pain since 1982, having a total of 13 right and left knee surgeries. I have degenerative joint disease throughout, the sacral vertebrae in my spine have fused together, and I have an injury in my back. I have been on multiple pain medications over the years, and this medication helps me get through the day, along with Flexeril. I have quit taking it for several months on end so I don't get addicted and did not have any side effects or withdrawal symptoms. I did have high levels of pain, but anyone who lives with a chronic condition like ours understands this. I have a great doctor who works with me trying to control it."

For Pain "I've been on the 60mg twice a day for over 2 years now with Roxicodone 30mg every six hours for breakthrough pain, works better for me than Avinza. High dose Norco, and even the Fentanyl Patches 25mcg-75mcg. It has given my life back. I do recommend you talk to your doctor and get on this medicine. The old version that had OC and 60 was a lot better than the newer OP/60, but eventually your body gets used to it. Just be careful take it as directed. The only side effect is constipation, but otherwise a God-Send!"

For Chronic Pain "For chronic pain: I take 40 mg OxyContin 3 times per day. I had C3-C7 laminectomy, fusion, two plates. Degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, severe spinal stenosis, regional pain syndrome, bulging disks at T4-T5 and pinched spinal cord in 3 places with severe nerve damage. I was on morphine sulfate 30 mg for 3 years, now I take the OxyContin with occasional breakthrough meds. I have found 90% of the time, if I take my meds at the same time every day, it works just fine, with the occasional bad day here and there. Overall, it has worked well for me. I have been on it for a year now."

For Pain "Life is livable again. I have had no side effects. I stay very aware of the possibility for abuse so am very careful. I count my pills throughout the month and have to give a urine sample every couple months at the pain clinic. I have been on the same dose, 60 mg every 12 hours for approximately 5 years. I cannot go back to life before I was placed on this medicine. There has been and always will be people who will abuse pain medicines and I can understand why doctors are so afraid to prescribe them, but someone has to stand up and treat people like myself so we can get out of bed and face the day."

For Chronic Pain "I hope your pain is managed as best as it can be! I'm in the UK and am prescribed both OxyContin (sustained-release) and Oxynorm, which is a fast-acting version of oxycodone. I have degenerative disc disease in my lumbar spine and am listed for surgery in early October 2012. This medicine takes the edge off my pain."

For Chronic Pain "I used OxyContin to deal with leg and terrible back pain. I was taking Vicodin, and if I didn't get ahead of my pain, I ended up using as many as 8 a day. All of the acetaminophen was damaging my liver. When I switched insurance companies, I had a regular doctor and a new pain management doctor, who told me that the OxyContin was a better medicine for chronic pain because it does not have the ups and downs that Vicodin has, because Vicodin only lasts about 4 hours. I used the medicine for many years. I now use the Fentanyl patch with great results!"

For Pain "I've been taking OxyContin now for about two years. I've been through just about everything else you can think of due to the 5 ruptured discs I have. Pain blocker, nerve deadening, etc., and even physical therapy but I haven't found anything as useful as OxyContin. It's been relatively side effect-free for me, and I can function pretty well day-to-day because of it."

For Chronic Pain "Both meds OxyContin and Roxicodone are some of the best pain meds on the market-HANDS DOWN! I've been on as much as two 80 mg OxyContin and six Roxi 30s a day and was on that regimen for 8 years. I have had 5 back surgeries and have rods from the bottom of my neck to the top of my ass. I have all kinds of nerve damage in my left leg and feet and cramp something awful if I don't take meds. I took all that medicine with 3 Soma daily, 3 Xanax bars daily, 100 mg Zoloft daily, Neurontin 900 mg daily, and as I said to start, both of those pain meds are highly recommended and trust me, I have the experience, lol."

For Pain "I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer less than a month after my 35th birthday. I was stage 1 at age 33, and after surgery, I was cancer-free until it came back in my breast again, but this time in my lymph nodes as well as my bones. Breast cancer in the bones (both of my hips, my sacrum, and the T6 vertebrae of my spine) is an indescribable type of pain. I am 3 years and 4 months into this stage 4 cancer stuff and am so grateful that this medication is available to me. OxyContin has a bad reputation, I know, but for people like me who are living with terminal cancer, it is a miracle. Without this medicine, I would be in so much pain I doubt I would want to keep living. OxyContin helps my quality of life, which is the most important thing when living with terminal cancer."
