For Birth Control "I usually take Tri-Sprintec, but have had a lot of migraines with my period, so was recommended this, Norlyda. I have gained a little weight, which isn’t a big deal since I’m only 110 to begin with. But I started breaking out. My face mainly, but my chest and back. I’ve been taking the pill for 3 months now. My face is always covered in acne. So frustrating. I make it a habit to wash twice a day, but nothing is helping. Since it’s winter, I don’t care about my chest or back. I also haven’t gotten my period at all. I took a pregnancy test, and it came back negative. I haven’t had any symptoms or signs that I’m pregnant. I took the test just to see since I haven’t gotten my period. I showed a lot of symptoms last time I was pregnant. I have a Dr. appointment in March, which is the soonest I can see my Dr. I want to go back to my old brand."

For Birth Control "On the one hand, this worked as an effective birth control and even regulated my irregular period. On Norlyda, I had a normal menstrual cycle and no complications with my migraines. On the other hand, this gave me the worst side effects I have ever experienced. I was depressed, anxious, and had frequent nightmares. All of this stopped once I got off the pill. I can't take any more of this, with these kinds of side effects, I needed to switch. I literally could not sleep while taking this. I will be looking for another option."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for 6 months. I was prescribed due to my previous birth control causing a risk of stroke and causing me intense aura migraines. Norlyda makes me bleed 3-10 days 2 times a month… I’ve developed insane PMDD along with intense anxiety. If you’re looking for a pill that gets rid of period side effects or acne, this isn’t it. I have all my acne back that my previous pill helped with, and terrible periods. This could just be me, but you’re definitely going to go through tampons crazy and be very emotional, most likely. Ugh!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Norlyda for two months, coming off of my other birth control pill that contained both estrogen and progestin. The first month, my period was expected to come on the 10th but was delayed to the 16th, and now being the second month, I was supposed to be expecting my period on the 14th, and my period has yet to come. I already had gone through the PMS week where I had lower back pain, breast tenderness, fatigue, and no period ever came down. I hope it would come down soon, if not, the only option there is to take a pregnancy test, even though I am confidently sure I have nothing to worry about since I take it every day, same time. I did research and saw missed/delayed/late periods are expected, but all I can do is hope."

For Birth Control "I just started my third pack of this. I was on a different birth control before, and I loved it, but I gained weight. I got switched to Norlyda, and I lost the weight I had gained. It makes my cycle very long, which does worry me occasionally. The only side effect I do have is worse cramps on my period, and it makes me much more emotional."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about a year now and am looking to stop taking it and switch. I quickly lost my period, which I enjoyed not having, due to typically having terrible PMS and heavy bleeding without birth control. The only side effects I noticed were some more unwanted hair growth, and my boobs got smaller, B to A cup. When I was working out heavily, since I am an athlete, I had no period or PMS whatsoever. But my major complaint is, as soon as I went into my offseason, which was slightly less daily exercise, I had my period and all the PMS symptoms (7 days), followed by breakthrough bleeding (5 to 7 days) every other week until my next period, and this cycle just continues until I start exercising at an extreme level again."

For Birth Control "The first two months taking Norlyda, I literally had my period twice a month, heavy. After 8 months till now, I haven't had my period since then, I've lost 22 lb, and now I have chest acne. I don't like being on my period, so I don't mind. Losing weight is fine with me because now I'm back to my original weight due to my old BC that made me gain weight. But I like this pill, I just don't like the acne part. Also, I take it every day right on the dot. I felt like the first two months when I was taking it, I wasn't being consistent with taking it on time. So it made me have an irregular period, and usually, my period is regular. Also, my sex drive is high. I'm only 24. Everyone is different, but I hope this helps you."

For Birth Control "I was put on Norlyda after getting awful migraines with my previous birth control. I have PCOS and irregular periods, but Norlyda has stopped my period altogether, which I can't complain about. I have experienced no other side effects, I didn't even realize my other birth control was making me depressed and anxious until I started Norlyda and feel ten times better. Honestly, no complaints at all."

For Birth Control "I cannot take estrogen and have a history of not handling hormones well. I can tolerate this birth control for around 6 months consistently, then I have to take a month off to reset, and then I restart. It is not ideal, but it's the best I've gotten so far. I've tried pretty much all birth controls-hormonal and the copper IUD. With this, I have noticed hair growth. Weight gain is something I struggle with, so I'm unsure if it's related. I know it's time to stop when my hair gets really greasy (I usually go 6 days between washes, and it goes down to 1) and my skin breaks out very badly. I take a month off, and when I start back, all is well. The important thing is to know your body and what works for you."

For Birth Control "I am not one to review birth control, but I do not recommend this brand. I understand everyone reacts differently to birth control, but this was the worst experience I have ever had with a brand. I am 20 years old. I started Norlyda in January of 2022, assuming it would be 'less hormonal' than my previous brands. I bled almost every day in February and March. I was the most anxious I have ever been after one month into it. Crazy negative thoughts, dizziness, anxiety, paranoia. One week after getting off this brand and starting Junel Fe, I feel like myself again. Dizziness and depression are gone, anxious thoughts are gone. Back on a regular cycle. I am so happy I stopped taking Norlyda."

For Birth Control "I had issues on this medication the first few months like extremely bad headaches almost every day, horrible acne, mood swings, and irregular periods. My migraines have lessened now, however, it is horrible acne that bothers me the most. It took about 6 months for my period to start being regular after being on a combo pill for 9 years."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control you can take. I've been bleeding ever since, my cycle is irregular and heavy - it has never been this long. I started taking it and felt hungry a lot. It is not good if you're not used to new estrogen. I used to take low estrogen, it was perfect for me and my body."

For Birth Control "As almost everyone points out, birth control of all kinds reacts differently in EVERY person. Its effectiveness is also highly dependent on how faithfully you take it. If you neglect to take it at the same time every day, it will probably not do what it’s intended to do. With this out of the way, I am mixed on norethindrone. In terms of birth control, it’s a 10/10. If not for the pill, I’m sure I’d be pregnant many times over. My libido is positively affected due to no pregnancy worry. However, the pill has not helped for the second reason I was prescribed it: menorrhagia. I am 21, cannot take estrogen for mood reasons, and have always had severe but regular periods. My period pain has lessened only slightly and I still bleed EXTREMELY heavily on the first few days. My breasts are also almost constantly tender (other issues were ruled out). This is only my personal body, obviously, so please use this as advised and as prescribed. Tell your doctor if it isn’t working for you!"
