Nicotine "The patches work great. No itching or other side effects to my skin. Only downfall to the product is the patches are not waterproof and come off after being exposed to water. Plus, even after washing my skin with alcohol, I still need to put tape over the patch to keep it on for the day. Great product otherwise."

Nicotine "Started smoking at 14, graduated to at least 2 packs a day. In 2007, had my first stent, since then, several. What nobody told us was that you can lose your teeth, feet, or limbs. Had 5 roto-rooter procedures on 1 leg, the pain is the most excruciating I have ever experienced. Begged for God to take my life 1st time it hit me. I swore I would never smoke again but quit 5 years ago next month and still crave nicotine, smoked 63 years. Wish there was something less expensive than Nicorette, as it is very expensive. I do question the quality of each piece, some taste like no nicotine and others ok."

Nicotine "I quit smoking with Commit's help for five years. We sold our home and moved a thousand miles and had a new home built. It happened fast, and I was so stressed I started smoking again. It's been a year and six months, and I am now back on Commit again. The problem is, I used them for the entire five years. I started having a lot of cavities, and that worried me. I don't know if it was the constant use or not. They also gave me uncontrollable gas. It went away when I stopped use. These are still better than cancer. They do work."

Nicotine "I'm convinced the lozenge has saved my life. For me, the patch was awful. I chewed the gum so hard my jaw was very painful. The lozenge was perfect, especially since I was a chewer of tobacco, not a smoker. After my first child was born, I knew I needed to quit and finally got committed (no pun intended). I have been tobacco-free for about 5 years, but like others, I still use lozenges daily. I will make an attempt to get off them as I've had some stomach or intestinal pains lately. Still a way better choice than all the cancer-causing things in the tobacco."

"I've been on nicotine (various products) for nearly 15 yrs, and I feel great. I run twice a week 5k, and eventually will stop, but as it is, I don't smoke, and each time I stop the patch, I find I have to go get a cigarette, hence, I stay on a low dose. I don't smoke, and that, my friend, is what matters."

Nicotine "Completely useless product. While it worked while it was on my skin, all of the 21x 24h patches fell off after at most 1 hour and did not stick to anything anymore. So while the medication might work, the product itself does not."

"I've been using the patch for almost a week now, and normally I would smoke 10-12 cigarettes a day. During this past week, I've only had 4 or 5. I don't feel the need to smoke like I used to. However, I notice that after about 15 minutes of putting the patch on, the area gets very itchy for about 30 minutes. There have been days where I feel very weak and tired, and sometimes nauseous and dizzy. My biggest complaint is having a hard time falling asleep. But I'd rather lose a little sleep than to keep smoking. These patches really do work."

Nicotine "So today is my first day of stopping smoking. Previously, I have tried to stop using the patches but later learned that I was allergic to them, resulting in a rash. Anyway, today I’m using the gum, and after only trying one of them, I would much rather go cold turkey than to have them every day! After a minute of having it, I started to get a burning sensation at the back of my throat, which is a common side effect, but one I would rather not have. Then I started to feel faint and dizzy, so I chucked it in the bin, I couldn’t take it anymore! It’s currently been more than five hours since I’ve taken that single bit of gum, and I’m now getting really bad stomach pains, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. Not only that, what’s the point of taking the gum, which has addictive nicotine in it, to try and stop smoking? It doesn’t make sense. I actually didn’t know that when I bought it, silly me, but in my opinion, I would much rather go cold turkey than to put my body through all that pain to stop smoking!"

"My mother smoked for over 50 years and was recently in the hospital for pneumonia. She had to be put on the patch (21 mg) while in there. I am thrilled to say that it has been 16 days and she has not even thought about a cigarette. I say that is a miracle because she always had to have an extra pack of cigarettes so she would not run out! Thank you for a great product!"

"Smoked for over 40 years. Quit occasionally but always went back. Using the patch has worked. Started patches and they work. Smoked the first couple of days and now after 1 month I have had a butt nor do I crave one. Really a bad habit. Expensive? Cost $25 every 2 weeks. 1 pack a day habit every 2 weeks, pack a day, $130 every 2 weeks."

Nicotine "I have been a smoker for about 20 years and Commit was the only thing that worked for me. I tried many times to quit before and was unsuccessful until I tried these. My only problem now is that I have been smoke-free for 12 weeks and yet I am still hooked on the lozenges. I can definitely feel the need to still have the lozenges, and so I need to find a way to break free of this new habit."

Nicotine "Proper and consistent adhesion needs to become a priority. 25-minute ordeal of wiping, drying, using an alcohol swab, applying patch(es), cutting fabric tape not even sold in pharmacies (given by a friend a long time ago). Now running low on said tape, applying tape, noticing throughout the day that sections of the patch are no longer touching the skin. Dreams at night seem real and last a long time. Not well rested the next day even after a long sleep."

Nicotine "Commit really works if you want to stop smoking. The cons are: stinging or burning at first, which goes away; heartburn definitely if you use them frequently; gas. The major con is Commit really is addictive itself! Considering that we are dealing with an addict in the first place... we will use Commit constantly. I have a lozenge in my mouth constantly... even while sleeping! There has to be a better way. Trying to go down to the 2 mg lozenge and use according to the directions. Certainly don't think of cigarettes. Hate them now. Have been on Commit since 2003. Have bad heartburn and ulcers. Concerned about the effect on my red blood cells."

Nicotine "I've used other patches, estrogen, fentanyl. I also took care of my father and put nitro patches on him. I've NEVER had a problem till now. These patches constantly fall off. After putting 3 on, I gave up. PLEASE don't waste your $$$ on these Habitrol patches, buy Nicoderm, they stay on GREAT!"

Nicotine "I tried several times to stop smoking, but always relapsed. Commit lozenges were the only success I had. Here were my complaints about other methods: * Prescriptions - didn't want to put medicine in my body * Nicoderm CQ - patches didn't stick to hairless parts of my body * Hypnosis - I always lit up after my hypnotherapy session. I stopped with Commit, but started again because I wasn't truly ready. Once I was finally determined to quit, I went back to Commit. Just when I was making this decision, they came out with the cappuccino flavor version, and as of today, I have been a non-smoker for three and a half months. It's the only method that has truly worked for me."

Nicotine "Smoked daily for 15 years, around a packet. I am now on my second week of quitting. It is terrible in the morning without the coffee and the cigarette. I am using around 7 pieces of the gum daily, using the chew and park method. It helps me really well, not thinking about smoking that much more onto chewing now. It certainly helps to manage the cravings and the anger."

Nicotine "Yep, you're gonna get a mild case of hiccups during the first 3 days or so, but like the man said below, it's better than cancer. Don't be foolish - smoking isn't good, and these work. After a few weeks, start trading off with cheap mint candies every other turn, then 3 to 1, etc. I started with 8 a day and ended up done with it all at the beginning of week 5! Seriously, you really must want to quit. Get through the first week (that's the rough part), and it's all downhill after that. Do it!"

Nicotine "The first Habitrol patch that I applied fell off immediately. I put it back on using Scotch tape. The second day, it fell off after about one hour. Again, used Scotch tape. Today, third time, it fell off after a few minutes. These do not adhere."

Nicotine "For an honest review, I'll admit that I haven't tried too many things. Gum, patches, and vaping being the only things I've tried; but I think this gum is actually pretty good. I bought off-brand stuff years ago and compared to this; it tasted awful and the texture of the gum was really soft. This tastes like real gum (for about 30 seconds) but the consistency is on par with your Juicy Fruit. I haven't dipped or smoked in a long time, but I do still use the gum. I think eventually I'll switch to just regular gum on schedule. It does its job but only if you allow it to. Best of luck."

Nicotine "I have no illusions about this stuff; it is somewhat marginal to say it is better than cigarettes. However, for me, Nicotrol has been and continues to be better than cigarettes. I'm not sorry that 15 years ago, a PA in a major university hospital smoking cessation program told me about Nicotrol NS as part of the initial protocols available. It does only provide a short physical effect, but it delivers it very, very quickly, so for that reason, more than anything, is why Nicotrol works for me!"

Nicotine "So I have smoked for about, I'd say, 22 years out of my 35 years. In the first 5 years, I probably would only have a couple to a few cigarettes a day, and then for the last 10 years, I smoked about half a pack to a pack a day. I have terrible oral fixation problems and other compulsive oral habits. I decided to try the patch to stop this. I have tried vaping in the past, I've tried the gum. Neither of these substitutes are good for me. The day I put on the patch, I had no hope of it actually working, but I was at the end of a pack, and by the end of that day, I had my son throw away all but one in the pack, and I smoked that last cigarette and knew that I didn't need them anymore. Life had been stressful, and I had been sick. I never thought I could quit when I was feeling like this. But it's honestly been the best thing for my confidence and improvement of my life right now. It's been 11 days, and I can't even believe it. I plan on doing step one for four weeks, then step two and step three for 2 weeks each. Thanks, Nicoderm CQ!"

Nicotine "I was a smoker for 30 years. I used Commit when my granddaughter was born because I couldn't smoke in the hospital. It worked, I decided to continue with the program. I have quit for 30 months now. When I feel the urge to smoke now, which is not often (maybe 1 time in 4 weeks), I pop one in my mouth and never completely finish it until the urge leaves. I kept 1 bottle after I quit using them for this reason and still have over half left. It works."

Nicotine "Only complaint I have is that it falls off constantly. I always put on medical tape with it, and it still falls off. Still working for me, but it's honestly irritating when it falls off all the time. I would have expected something that is supposed to stick on not to peel off all the time. Would be better if it just stuck on the whole day!"

Nicotine "I have been using the 4 mg nicotine polacrilex gum for just over 2 weeks. I use the suggested chew-and-park method, and it definitely is helping with my cravings. I use one piece roughly every 2 hours, and I don't exceed 10 pieces in a 24-hour period. I find it very helpful compared to the patch, which didn't help much, and I preferred gum over the lozenges, which tasted absolutely awful. No side effects that weren't tolerable. I haven't smoked a single cigarette since starting the gum. The gum, or any method, must be used along with personal willpower or it's not going to work. Best of luck to all!"

Nicotine "This works well only when the patch stays on. I found the clear patches don't stay on like the tan ones do. I'm having a hard time finding the tan ones anymore, did they discontinue them? The clear patches continually fall off. The adhesion is not near as good. I had to switch brands to Life brand because they have the tan ones, and the adhesion is great."
