For Depression "I NEVER REALIZED HOW BAD I WAS UNTIL I STARTED FEELING GOOD AGAIN!! Remeron has changed my life. I had anxiety and depression, and I had tried Zoloft, Buspar, Wellbutrin, and am on Lexapro still. Some of my worst anxiety symptoms were nausea, lack of appetite, and vivid dreams. I am currently on Lexapro 15 mg with 7.5 mg Remeron that I started a little over a week ago. I was scared to try it because I am sensitive to medication changes, but the first night I slept amazingly, fell asleep easily, and woke up with a quiet mind. I still had vivid dreams, but I did not have an anxiety-producing reaction. I was scared I would never find an answer to my anxiety disorder, which resulted in depression as well. Highly recommended if dealing with insomnia, vivid dreams, and lack of appetite. I did not have any weight gain but did have food cravings for the first day or so, but other than that, this drug was side effect-free. The weight has finally been lifted off my shoulders, and the mind is much quieter."

For Major Depressive Disorder "30mg every night for PTSD, panic disorder, and major depression. Dealing with childhood trauma like physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault from a young age. Mind doesn't race as much, don't have dangerous thoughts anymore. I still experience panic attacks, occasional chest tightness if I think about it, but panic attacks have significantly gone down to at least maybe once a month if not every other month. I have gained a few pounds. If you have a sensitive stomach, eating right before or after taking this medication else you'll feel bad waves of nausea. My parents hid panic disorder as a child and lied to me about it, so I started experiencing them much more often in high school. Have I honestly never felt better mentally. I can't say enough good things about this medication! Wait it out if you really think this will work for you. I had tried over 6 medications, this one works miracles, and my mental health is 70-75% better."

For Depression "REMERON/MIRTAZAPINE was wonderful the first two weeks, particularly because I felt dismal for 50 years, then mirtazapine came about. But after two weeks of a new life of positivity, things changed to a life of pain, nausea, apathy, crying, worrying, close to zero motivation, even to use the restroom. I can go on and on, basically now I wonder why people live for 100% negativity, literally even when you list all things. I wish I never experienced the good from this drug because now mental torture and horrible chronic pains would best describe my life!!!"

For Anxiety "I've been on this medicine for about 2 years now. I started out on it for anxiety/depression at 15mg. It worked great for a while. My depression is gone but my anxiety still has its times where it is bad and uncontrollable. After about a year, my dose was increased to 30mg for anxiety. It worked great again this time for a couple of months, but it still creeped back. After a while, I was seeing a new psychiatrist, and she tried putting me on Fluvoxamine to try getting me off of Remeron. I liked the feeling of the new medicine, but I felt nausea and upset stomach for about a week and a half. So she put me back on Remeron 30mg, but I only took 15mg, and I felt better than before when I was on 30mg. In all, this medicine has worked great for me."

For Depression "I’ve struggled with severe nausea induced by anxiety for years. I went to countless doctors thinking it was a GI issue, but they couldn’t find anything. I finally went to a psychiatrist, and she prescribed me Remeron. I occasionally get nauseous still, but it is bearable and doesn’t prevent me from doing everyday things like it did if I take this medication on schedule. If I forget to take it one day, the nausea returns, but I am able to live everyday life normally with this pill. The one thing I will say is that this pill will knock you out. I work early in the morning and have to take this pill and go to sleep around 7 pm every night, but that is doable for me and definitely worth the benefits of this medication. This medication saved me!!"

For Depression "Remeron saved my life. I was unable to take SSRIs and SNRIs - they made me horribly nauseous. It was a year before my doctor prescribed Remeron. Thank God she did. After a solid year of almost total sleep deprivation, I could finally sleep beautifully. Keeps the depression and anxiety completely in check. I regained the weight I had lost (about 20 lbs) due to the depression but have not gone over my pre-depression weight of 150 lbs - 5'7", 50 years old."

For Anxiety "I was suffering extreme anxiety, weight loss, and insomnia due to a diagnosed medical condition. I tried several sleep aids and SSRIs. Nothing worked. Because of the weight loss, I was prescribed Remeron. It was a miracle for me! I slept through the night for the first time in months, relieved anxiety, and I started gaining weight. Over time, my anxiety went away, but I stayed on because I loved having an appetite (I had no appetite for years). I guess I stayed on too long. After 6 years, I decided I should get off. I was dependent. I suffered flu-like symptoms for weeks-nausea, exhaustion, gastrointestinal upset, feeling like a low-grade fever. I finally got rid of the nausea, but if I'm off for 2 weeks, the gastrointestinal upset creeps in. I now take 3.25 mg 1X a week."

For Major Depressive Disorder "So far, I'm very happy as my nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and anxiety have subsided. Not much relief from depression yet on day 5, but I understand it takes time. It does make my tongue numb for a bit after I take it, and I've had vivid dreams every night on it."

For Depression "I used to be super skinny and suffer from constant nausea. It affected my self-confidence greatly, and I felt depressed. Remeron, for me, was a godsend. My nausea went away, my appetite increased greatly, and I gained 20 lbs, which really boosted my self-esteem. Aside from that, it stabilizes my mood and takes the edge off of anxiety and depression. It has been great for me."

For Depression "Remeron helped me sleep right away, and I took 15 mg for 6 months. I decided to lower it to 7.5 mg because I suspected it was causing high blood pressure. I put on 20 pounds while taking this medication, but I also take lithium and losartan, and they can also cause weight gain. I was on 7.5 mg for 4 months and still slept well and had no major side effects. Then I noticed my sex drive was less, and I could not reach orgasm. When I complained about that to my psychiatrist, she offered a switch to trazodone. I decided not to switch, but rather to end my use of antidepressants. I feel the lithium I take is enough to keep me from being manic and losing sleep. I tapered to 3.75 mg for 5 days and then quit. I felt tired and had a dull headache for that week. Then, 7 days after stopping all the Remeron, I had an awful night. I sweat, I was nauseous, and I felt unwell. The strangest symptom of withdrawal was/is the vibrating in my eardrums. It's already easing up after a couple of days."
