"I, unfortunately, have a very sensitive undercarriage and over the years I've become no stranger to the love/hate relationship with Monistat. Anyway, the point is, I consider myself an expert on the three-day Monistat. Night 1, depending on how bad the infection is, you’ll likely be miserable. The burning and itching is so real, but I’ve discovered that taking some Benadryl for the itching and some ibuprofen for the inflammation makes it much more tolerable. Usually, the next morning I feel 10 times better than the day before. Night 2 of treatment usually starts with some discomfort, but nothing like the first round. And by the last night, in my experience, there’s usually not much of an infection left, so no discomfort either! All in all, it gets the job done!"

"Y'all, I'm an ob/gyn, and it took me using this stuff myself to decide I will NEVER recommend it to a patient again. My vagina is on FIRE. I am completely miserable. This is way worse than any yeast infection I could dream up. I feel like I must have third-degree burns on the inside. I thought I could tough it out, but no girl is that tough! Monistat, this is NOT okay. I will be prescribing oral treatment from now on."

"The only thing helping me get through this horrible burning and itching is reading all these comments! Scrolling through and seeing so many women experiencing the same issues is my only comfort. I seriously want to claw my vagina off!!! The burning and itching is unbearable. I will NOT be using this product ever again."

"I’m here to add another installment or “what have I just put in my vag.” If you’re reading this, it’s probably too late. Just know you’re not alone. We all made the same mistake. Pretty sure my husband thought I was being super dramatic until I showed him some of these reviews. Currently sitting in a bath trying to wash the awful stuff out. Ugh. My vag is more uncomfortable now after using it than it was after I pushed a whole human through it. This is horrendous. Hang in there, fellow burning vag friends!"

"Please God, DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR VAGINA!!!! I should have read the reviews, but I’ve used this in the past and didn’t have the same reaction. I’m literally in the fetal position, crying and grabbing my vagina! I put this in about 30 minutes ago, and immediately after, I was bent over in pain. The burning and itching is literally like 30 times worse than the actual pain I was feeling from the infection. I called my doctor and an advice nurse and will be going in first thing in the morning. The only solace I have is reading everyone else’s experiences, so at least I know I’m not dying. I honestly thought I would have to go to the emergency room. Again, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON’T USE THIS. It’s like some woman-hating psychopath put some torturous ingredient in this to systematically inflict pain on unsuspecting women. I hate you, Monistat, how dare you do this to all of us!!"

"This is the first time I had a yeast infection, so my doctor told me to get the Monistat 3-day tubes. I was hesitant because of all the bad reviews I saw, but I got it anyway. The first night I used it, not even 10 minutes later, it felt like somebody was holding a lighter up to my vagina. IT WAS BURNING, ITCHING, & STINGING so much that I couldn’t even sleep. I kept getting up to walk off the itch, and I had to put a cold rag on it in order to go to sleep. But the next morning, I felt great, and throughout that day, I didn’t feel any burning or itching, so I continued using the other tubes for the next two nights, and surprisingly, I didn’t experience burning or stinging at all! That means the yeast infection was almost fully cured :) I highly recommend this product because of how fast it works. You just have to suck it up and deal with the burning on the first night you use it and wear a pantyliner. Night 2 & 3 won’t be as bad, you may feel little to no burning or itching at all."

"Not my first YI, but my first time using Monistat of any kind. I used the kind with the cream-filled applicators. Oh my freaking goodness, never again. I don't know how to best describe the itching and burning that happened after using the applicator, but to say it's painful is an understatement. I have an extremely high pain tolerance, and this is honestly up there in the worst pains I've ever experienced. I would rather literally burn out my own eyeballs with actual fire than ever use Monistat again. Seriously. I tried to tough it out, thinking maybe it was just the medicine doing its job, but I ended up breaking down and birthing the glob of cream into the toilet. I'm currently sitting here with a cooling ice pack on the area (which does help a bit, but not enough). It's been an hour, and the burning is not going away. Freaking yikes. I am not sure how this stuff is even legal. Would NOT recommend, in case you didn't get that."

"Okay, so... I'm using the generic Monistat 3 Combination Pack. Had a mild YI I caught early. After the wrath of day one and two... Day 3, I mastered the art. I first cleaned my lady bits in the shower IMMEDIATELY before insertion. I usually shower a few hours before bed, but this was a special case. Then I applied coconut oil everywhere. A barrier of sorts to prevent the medicine from burning my outer bits. Then I loaded up on ibuprofen and inserted the medicine. Straight to bed and used a pillow to raise my hips. This is key. Oh, and skip the external cream. You CAN'T walk around with this stuff in. The next morning, I rinsed thoroughly in the shower to prevent burning leakage. This stuff is awfully complicated to use and has some very short instructions for how bad it can hurt if not treated properly. But I can't deny that it worked."

"Day 1, didn't read the directions all the way. Inserted mid-day and wished I had a pad. Felt a little weird, but absolutely nothing like I am currently experiencing on Day 2, at 10 p.m. while trying to fall asleep. The burn!!! Oh my god, the burn. I am going to tell every woman I ever meet for the rest of my life (should I survive) to never, ever, use this product. Is there seriously not a single female class action lawyer who has gotten a YI before? Where’s the petition? Take my signature ✍️"

"My vagina feels like it's on fire! It's 15 minutes after I inserted the medication. I feel as if there is a blowtorch under myself. The itching is horrendous! Like 2,000,000 fire ants are down there. It's driving me insane! How can you fall asleep with this pain!"

"I bought Monistat 3 cream suppository over the counter on Monday and inserted it at night right before bed, and yes, as everybody's reviews and experience about the burning and stinging after inserting it, is very true. But that's the whole point of it, it kills the yeast, and to me, that was when I knew it was doing its job! The burning and stinging lasted for about 20 minutes. The next morning, the same feeling occurred for about 20 minutes-burning, stinging, a little uncomfortable-but let me say, after my first dose, I was feeling 80% better! Last night, Wednesday, was my last dose, and this morning I'm 100% better. I truly didn't think Monistat 3 was going to work, but it did, and hopefully I don't get any more yeast infections, but if I do, I know what to use best! So if you're reading this and this is your first yeast infection and you're thinking about using this product, I think you should give it a try! I'm very sensitive to a lot of things, and I was hesitant about using it, but I gave it a try, and it worked for me."

"First night: I inserted it and went to the movies that night. Before applying it, I had bad itching but had used coconut oil throughout the day to soothe the YI. Once I applied it the first night, it was instant relief. I was so super glad to feel normal again that I never noticed any itching or burning. I felt better in the morning. Then on night two, I made sure to insert the capsule before bed. This night, it was itchy and mild burning for about 20 minutes. I noticed it got worse as I read all the horrible reviews."

"First day using it resulted in, of course, an increase of itching and burning, but after taking ibuprofen, about an hour later, I didn’t feel any pain. As I’m on day 2 right now, the symptoms of YI are very faint, less itching. So I definitely recommend it, and make sure to take medicine. Also, everyone’s body is different, so you may get a different result."

"I think I'm in burning hell. It's so bad I had to look up my symptoms to see if this is normal. Only to find about 100 more people with the same feeling! This burns so bad, I swear I should have just gone to my OB-GYN and gotten an Rx for a pill. I'm a 32-year-old woman crying real tears after using the Monistat 3-day cream. This cannot be a normal reaction to this, I think they need to be sued!"

"If you’re like me and probably the vast majority who has landed on this page, it means you’re probably too late. You used the 3-day Monistat, felt the ungodly burning of a thousand suns, and thought, “Holy Moly, it’s worse than before!” Conjuring enough strength to Google, you type in a search wondering if a yeast infection cream is going to be the thing that takes you out of existence, only to find that you’re not alone. If you haven’t figured out by the low rating, this application is HORRIBLE, to say the least. It had me throwing myself in the shower to remove the cream as best as possible. I’m sitting on an ice pack now and praying the sensation of a million fire ants on my crotch goes away. Don’t risk trying this product, I wish I had looked into it before trying it out."

"Omgoodness, I have had yeast infections before, but never have I felt so much pain. It feels like someone poured hot sauce in my vagina. I swear this as I have cried for the last 10 minutes. Monistat 3 is the worst. This is a bad batch. I should have gotten Target brand. I'll be seeing the doc for Diflucan tomorrow. This is not right, people."

"I bought the Monistat 1 Day yesterday. Before I inserted it, I decided to look up reviews. It was so bad! I literally threw everything away and went to the store for the 3-day. From reading everything, I found out that if you do it and immediately lay down with your knees up, that it helps a lot. I guess when the cream starts to come out and down your vag from walking or movement is where the burning comes from. I was doing great, and then my 5-year-old comes in screaming, and I have to get something for him. I go back to lay in bed and OMG. The next hour was just me curled in the fetal position holding my vagina as hard as I can. It finally just stopped, but it felt like a whole lifetime. The itch is unbearable. But I made it through, I didn’t shower or try to get it out. I powered through and can feel that it’s doing its job, and now I’m laying in bed watching Tosh.0 laughing. Stick it through! There’s a reason doctors recommend it, it may not be pleasant but doable."

"Lacking in health insurance at the moment, I thought getting Monistat would be a cheaper option for my yeast infection. Now, as I sit here in agonizing pain, I would have gladly sold my firstborn to avoid the itching and pain that are the side effects of Monistat. It feels like there is a raccoon deep inside of my vagina scratching to get out. I am at a loss on what to do. I have used Monistat before, and it wasn’t this bad. Is it possible that it’s because I bought the cream instead of the ovule this time? I wouldn’t be surprised if a man created this cream specifically to spite women. Somebody please send help."

"After having been misdiagnosed with a yeast infection, diagnosed with BV, treated with Metronidazole gel, and then developing a yeast infection because of the gel, I've been three weeks with pants on fire. If you're reading this, you might know the feeling. I did three doses of Diflucan and no relief. Dizziness and a general crummy feeling, but still burning and itching. One dose of M3 and I thought I was in Heaven. No burning. It was relief within an hour (and I was terrified of all the burning reviews). Not everyone reacts the same. One day and I'm looking forward to dose 2. The cooling effect is wearing off, and I want this thing gone. Monistat 3 cream was my savior!"

"HOW IS THIS ALLOWED TO BE SOLD?!?! I wish I had looked up reviews on the Monistat 3 tubes. Within 30 seconds of inserting the first tube, I was experiencing painful burning and itching in my vagina. And I put that sucker up there. I had to run to my bathroom, put on the shower, and try to wash it out of me. That wasn't good enough, so I then had to run a bath and sit in that. I'm trying to make this sound as comical as possible, but I have never experienced anything like this in my 35 years. How has this not been pulled off shelves? I won't even buy other Monistat products, I am so annoyed. If I knew all of this was going to happen, I would've asked to be taken out to dinner first at least. Shame on you, Monistat. Never again."

"Wow. What is this stuff? I have used Monistat before in the past, and it has never given me this side effect. I took it around 1:00, it is currently 1:25, and I am in so much pain. It feels like I have hot sauce, boiling water, and a jalapeño stuck in my lady parts. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. As I am pregnant, I can’t take the pill, so I resorted to this... I do not recommend this, whatever you do... please don’t take this. I would much rather deal with my yeast infection than to deal with the side effects of Monistat."

"I have had a yeast infection for over a week. Tried Diflucan, and it did not work, so I thought I would try Monistat 3. I was TERRIFIED after reading the reviews since I have never tried Monistat before, and everyone said it was burning them, BUT I am happy to report that there has been no burning!!! If you have a YI and are desperate (and already bought the Monistat)... just try it. It didn't burn me, it might not burn you either! lol. I will say it felt warm for a while, but not burn at all."

"I see so many comments about the burning. I guess I have a high pain tolerance, or maybe my yeast infection just wasn’t as bad. I did feel burning and itching, but after about an hour it started to settle, it really wasn’t that bad. I feel some people must have got a worse reaction than mine. I woke up this morning, and my yeast infection feels much better. I recommend this cream."

"Got a yeast infection from antibiotics. Well, the treatment is way worse than the YI. My lady parts were on fire. I had to wash this off with cold water and sit on ice packs for the next 2 hours. I'm 67 years old and not sexually active, but if I was, I would be closing up shop after this. I don't think my lady parts will recover from this 'treatment.'"

"Day 4. Vagina and vulva are raw. Wiping down there with wipes or paper feels like I’m using sandpaper. Urination burns my irritated skin. Leftover Monistat occasional drip feels like a combination of sting/itch/burn. I have to dab with a wipe after urinating. Day 5. Vagina and vulva are raw, it still hurts to pee, and wiping is the worst. I’m not sure what to do. I think it may be a chemical burn from the Monistat. Vaginal canal entry itches here and there. No cottage cheese discharge. If in 2 days I’m not better, going to the Gyno. If you are sensitive to side effects, beware. Shame on you, Monistat."
