"I took this medication after receiving 30 bug bites while on vacation, which turned into an allergic reaction. This medication worked right away. I had more energy, improved mood, and stopped itching! The only downside is on the last two days, I can hardly stay awake. Extreme fatigue."

"I went into the E.R. on Sept 8th, 2016, for a simple bug bite on my finger that became itchy and swollen after the 3rd evening. Was prescribed MEDROL along with clindamycin, Benadryl, and an antacid, none of which I've ever taken in my 39 years of living. After the 1st day, I became very emotional, low mood, I just kind of blew it off. 3rd day, my weight dropped 7 lbs! As of today, Dec 5th, down to 127 lbs & normally 138 lbs. SEVERE muscle loss, bulging eye, eyes blurry, extreme pressure in my head to the point I can't move sometimes, shakiness, depression, heart palpitations, bone & joint pain, painful jolts periodically, nausea, black stools, burning back & stomach, diarrhea & constipation, tingling, dizzy."

"The first day I took this, I was feeling dizzy, couldn’t go to sleep, and I told my doctor, and she told me to stop taking it. After a day later, I was feeling like my heart was beating abnormal and feeling so much anxiety and discomfort in my left leg. Don’t take it, I’m crying."

"Got the 4 mg 6-day pack for neck surgery recovery. By day two, swelling went dramatically down. What I didn't expect was that the pain from my medial collateral ligament Grade 2 year from 3 weeks prior would also get relief. My knee feels fantastic. No knee stiffness from sitting. Pain decreased 80% when pressing in the medial collateral ligament tear area. Feel I got a two-for-one relief with this drug."

"Got prescribed methylprednisolone after oral surgery. After just a few hours, I was feeling great, even my knee was feeling good, which I had been suffering pain from a torn meniscus - I wish I would have known about this sooner."

"Went to the doctor with a pinched nerve, could barely move my whole left leg. Started my dose at 11:30 AM or so, and by 3:00 PM I was dancing with the kids and making cookies with no pain at all. My wife was wondering who this person was. Wow, this stuff is great. Day 2, still no side effects, pain has come back but still much better. Sadly, I lost the euphoria rush I experienced on day 1, but still feel alert."

"I started taking this drug years ago in 1977 for bad itching on my fingers, tiny water blisters, it removed the problem in a few days. I ended up taking it like 4 different times over 10 years with no problems. Now I have the same problem on my feet??? But just blisters, no itching??? Going to a Kaiser specialist in 4 days. I think it is eczema this time. Oh well, I am 62 now. I talked the doctor into giving me this drug a few days ago, and it has helped me 100%. I can now walk, which I could not do as I had way too much pain. I can go to the store now, get supplies, so happy. It is sad when you can't walk..."

"Two herniated discs in my neck make life difficult. With this medication, it's like I am 18 again. No swelling, no pain, and life is good. Too bad it's so short-lived. I have it once every 6 weeks for a week at a time."

Methylprednisolone "My dentist put me on this after I had a root canal that was continuing to give me problems. The tooth stayed very tender, and it pushed off her placing the crown. I was hesitant at first because of the side effects it caused to some people, especially the vision side effects. But I finally took it. It worked wonders-'at first.' All of the pain and tenderness in the tooth went away after the first dose. I took all the pills for the first day dose at once, which the instructions said I could do. I'm a 42-year-old woman, and I had no side effect other than a sharp increase in my sex drive and a little blurred vision. I noticed that as the dosage started to be decreased, the tenderness immediately came right back. Now I'm finished with the pack (I only took it for one week), and the tenderness is back. Although a little less than before, that tooth is definitely tender again. I will have to retreat the root canal, and that will be expensive and painful."

"Took the dose pack for 5 days for pain in foot. Next day had horrible pain in shoulders, and muscle stiffness and pain in legs. Pain and stiffness traveled from left to right side. Ortho surgeon said he never prescribes this drug. Went to an immunologist MD. Had blood work, everything normal. After 6 months went to RA Specialist - no diagnosis for RA or other autoimmune disease. Still have muscle pain and stiffness and joint pain. Had x-rays - all normal. Ruled out everything possible. Pain has gone on for over a year. Know of many others who had or are experiencing the same. Just found out I need a total hip replacement due to the deterioration of the femur. My doctor said prednisone can cause this. BEWARE of this drug and stay away from it! The side effects that they have are not always disclosed. From what I found out, many others have experienced the same. RA doctors like to prescribe this drug and will disagree, but be warned. If the ortho surgeons will not prescribe, you know there is something wrong."

"I was given this medication (4 mg dose pk) by a podiatrist for plantar fasciitis pain as I have problems with NSAIDs. The second day I had a very red face and chest. By the end of that day, every bone in my face hurt. I had stopped taking it after the morning dose by orders of my pharmacist. But later that day I got a bright pink hot area on my left forearm and also my upper arm muscle area on the right. Day 3 I developed another pink, hot area on the upper left arm and had severe pain in my shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers. I went to my primary care doctor's office for follow-up. They agreed to stop the medication. I had only taken the first full day (6 pills) and 1 the next morning, so I didn't think the reaction would last this long."

"From the first dose, I got a lot of physical energy - which was great after being exhausted for a long time. Same time, it made me so irritable and depressed, I was climbing through the ceilings. After a couple of hours, it calmed down, but then I broke out in a skin rash. NEVER AGAIN."

"Was prescribed methylprednisolone 21 pack after the dentist had pulled 3 previously abscessed teeth. I had absolutely zero pain or swelling after extractions. Never had to take the first pain pill, so I would say this steroid works super well for that. The downside for me is I have kept a severe headache for the 2 days I've been on it and haven't slept at all. I'm typing this review at 4:50 am because I've just laid awake in bed all night with the headache to boot. Took ibuprofen for hasn't stop yet. I NEED SLEEP PLEASE!"

Methylprednisolone "I have an autoimmune disorder, spinal stenosis, arthritis. I was given one injection in my back of Depo-Medrol, and it hasn't worked at all! Although I did have many of the side effects after the first week. I have been on the shot for 3 weeks now. My eyes are burning, blurred, I have headaches, sharp pain in my legs, sharp pain in my temples, and more."

"The methylprednisolone took away all my pain, even in the worst places. I did have spasms in my spine that were a bit unnerving. I can only use it one week a month, but the break from the pain is a godsend."

"I was put on this medicine in a daily dosing pack after physical therapy wasn't working and naproxen wasn't cutting it. After taking this medicine for 12 days, i.e., 6 for 2 days, 5 for 2 days, 4 for 2 days, etc., my arm/shoulder was back to its old self again. I only wish I'd seen the specialist and was put on this medicine. I would have been back to work in two to two and one-half weeks. Three cheers for methylprednisolone."

"I had a severe reaction to the Levaquin antibiotic (Levaquin toxicity), and it took 4.5 years to regain physical strength. I was working again, then my dentist prescribed methylprednisolone (for numbness after dental surgery), and within 4 days, I began relapsing into severe muscle weakness. I fainted multiple times driving, had temporary blindness in one eye, and have had to stop working due to continued muscle weakness."

"The first 28 hours while I was taking this drug have been devastating for me. I took the drug this morning before breakfast as described, and shortly after, I was feeling short-winded, leaned forward to my knees praying to God, 'Why am I feeling this way?' It was also feeling like something was flaring up inside my chest and rib cage area. Shortly, I called my PCP, and they told me to come back."

"I was prescribed this due to a stress fracture in my foot that was greatly inflamed as I did not find out that it was fractured until two months after the fact. After the first dose of taking all six at once (six-day cycle of 21 pills), I slept great, but woke up with terrible dry mouth and throat, and had trouble breathing. Also, feeling fatigue was an issue. Being an 18-year-old male, I would rather just cope with the pain and simply wear the brace that they gave me to take the pressure off my foot. I feel that the adverse effects I got were not worth taking the inflammation off through time; although it did take care of the inflammation within two days."

"I can suddenly swell up and not be able to move, especially in hands with the inability to even walk. While I have pain medication, it simply does not work (though others seek this medication I take). I will go from a wheelchair to walking around in less than a few hours. I will be in tears from the pain. I happened to have an attack while visiting my Dr. 6 hours away, he had seen me the day before for a test, and I was using a walker, but now I was incapable of moving and was using a wheelchair. He ordered home health and PT. I asked for a Medrol dose pack, and by the time I got home, the symptoms had alleviated to the point I was at 90%. Amazed at how quick it works and the expression I get when I don't ask for pain meds."

"I constantly overthink things, worry, and assume I will have every side effect, so I never want to take medication. I had fluid in my middle ear for over 2 years and went to several doctors who basically did nothing. Finally, I was prescribed methylprednisolone 4 mg. I researched for days finding every bad side effect but got over myself and took the medicine. I had no nausea, dizziness, or heart palpitations. I had a little gas, but everything else was fine! It tastes terrible, but we've all drunk way worse things that only have harmed our bodies. It gave me some relief the first week, but now it's wearing off. It was a great treatment!"

"I had rotator cuff surgery in June. Physical therapy has been going great, and I was off Vicodin. Last week, my shoulder started to hurt a lot, and my range of motion was getting smaller. Then I noticed a large lump on the top of my shoulder. Went back to the orthopedic surgeon, and I have now developed a grade 2 AC joint sprain. Was prescribed Medrol 4 mg dose pack and Vicodin. Took 3 of the 6 pills so far today, and already the pain is decreasing. I can finally move my arm a little without pain. Love this drug."

"I took the Dosepak 4 mg for inflammation in three areas: shoulder, hip, neck, and have experienced good relief. It's not to be taken with ibuprofen or aspirin or other NSAIDs, but Tylenol is not an NSAID."

"1st day of pack okay. 2nd day anxiety started, but pain-free. 3rd day called doctor saying, 'scared.' Told to discontinue. Some withdrawal since couldn't taper, but psychological effects not worth the risk. For inflammation, would just use ibuprofen."
