For Asthma "Until I started taking Nucala, my asthma was mostly out of control. Now, in combination with daily high-dose corticosteroids, I feel like I have a new set of lungs and have gotten rid of the elephant that used to feel like it was standing on my chest."

For Hypereosinophilic Syndrome "Nucala has definitely regulated my eosinophils. However, my asthma was still causing me discomfort. I ended up having to take Tezpire as well. My joint pain and back pain have been miserable. My strength and endurance are all but gone. I may have to change careers. Not sure what to do."

For Asthma "Nucala works as intended, keeping me from very bad exacerbations. Side effects are a bit tough for me, as I feel tired and experience flu-like symptoms. I tend to get more chest infections, like 6 a year vs. 1 a year. Maybe it's the medicine interaction in my lungs causing more sensitivity to the cold. I guess that's better than the alternative emergency room visit due to severe asthma."

For Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps "I have been on Nucala for 20 months, specifically for my sinusitis. Also had mild asthma and no sense of smell after my 3rd sinus surgery a few years ago. For me, this medication is a miracle, within a week, my sinuses were clear and asthma under control. I am now at the stage where my sinuses still clear, don't need my Symbicort for asthma, and my smell is restored. The only side effect is tiredness (but that could be age-related - 77). I will continue with Nucala, for me, it's a wonder injection and so easy once a month."

For Asthma "I have just started Nucala after being on Fasenra for a year (to which I suffered severe side effects), just like what is mentioned in other reviews about Nucala. After reading many reviews, I'm not sure about this drug. I had some fatigue and body aches after the first injection, but not really bad. So I will wait until the next injection to see how it affects me. Hopefully better than the Fasenra."

For Asthma "I started with Nucala, and it worked for 2 months. I'm on my 6th month and I've noticed it stopped working. Also, 2 weeks before I'm due for another injection, my body feels it. It will work for like a week, and then I'm back to steroids and breathing treatments. Kinda feel like giving up. I don't know if I have to be on it longer or not. No one answers me."

For Asthma "I have a history of asthma. In 2017, I was exposed to black mold. My asthma went into overdrive. I coughed nonstop for 2 years. No medications helped stop the cough. I started Nucala in June 2020. My cough was gone in about 2 months. It has been wonderful to have my life back. But since I started using Nucala, I have developed inflammatory arthritis. It's horrible and very painful. I did not associate it with Nucala until I read the reviews. I am worried that if I stop Nucala, will my asthma symptoms come back? Is it actually causing my arthritis to go into overdrive? I plan to ask my doctor about stopping Nucala to see if it might stop increasing arthritis."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I have only been using Nucala for 4 months, but the improvement has been incredible. My breathing has been so much better. I no longer need prednisone, and I have reduced my inhaler use immensely. Side effects on occasion are some mild back and joint pain."

For Asthma "Took Nucala, had nausea the first day, and diarrhea every day since, and my throat is very dry. I didn't feel like that the first time I took this, but now I am taking the auto injector. The symptoms didn't start right away, took about two hours. After, I am going to the bathroom like I have a virus. This is weird."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "I have Churg-Strauss and have been hospitalized three times before being diagnosed. This drug has saved my life, if only not having to take prednisone. Dosage I have taken for almost three years is 300 ml every 28 days, with no negative side effects. Blood tests reveal no eosinophils at the end of four weeks, and I always feel much better after the injections. Sometimes I get tired after the injections, but I don’t consider it a negative."

For Asthma "I have found it great for breathing, but I developed huge blisters on my feet, and now I have an ear problem for over 4 weeks. No one can help me, as we don't know if it is due to this drug, which I believe it is, as nothing has cured it."

For Asthma "I have been on Nucala for 1 year. It has helped my asthma. I am having pain all over my body, mostly upper back, and I am losing my hair. Not sure I can stay on this med. My Dr. has suggested going off Nucala and see what happens. I can't take the pain."

For Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps "I have suffered with sinusitis and nasal polyps for many years, and diagnosed with mild asthma (in my late 60s). Have had no sense of smell for 10 years. After 3 sinus surgeries, I was approved for Nucala 16 months ago. Within 2 weeks, my sinuses were clear, asthma improved, and sense of smell slowly returning. Now, I only use my asthma puffer once a week (previously twice daily) and sinuses so good I can easily breathe through my nose. And now I have full sense of smell after 10 years. The only side effect is I get tired, but part of that could be age as I am in my 70s, still working and quite active. Nucala has definitely worked for me - hope to still be having the same result for a few more years."

For Asthma "Did my fourth monthly injection, and about 12 hours afterward, developed a burning, itching rash with raised welts at the injection site. This never happened before, so I took Benadryl and have been icing it. Nucala worked amazingly the first month, and I felt like I got my life back, but it has not been controlling my severe eosinophilic asthma since. It's been a slow decline from day one. This injection site reaction is very concerning."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "I have had asthma on and off for 60 years. Last year, a blood test showed eosinophilic asthma, which made me eligible for Nucala. This is subsidized by the Australian government. Over the years, I no longer responded to prednisone or inhalers and was very glad that Nucala worked for the first 3 months. I felt like a new woman, and my respiratory specialist was overjoyed that at last something worked. But after another 2 months, I no longer had any benefit for my breathlessness. I am due for injection No. 6 next week, so I will see if I respond again favorably. I had no side effects."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I have had severe asthma for most of my adult life. Despite oral and inhaled steroids, my asthma was poorly controlled. Three years ago, I began treatment with Nucala, and my condition has improved significantly. After the first dose, an improvement occurred, and now my health is much better than it was seven years ago when, due to ill health, I was forced to take medical retirement. This drug has worked so well for me, and I'm so grateful to be given it."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "I've been on Nucala for almost a year now. I did initially notice fatigue and hair loss, but my doctor didn't seem to think it was related and was more due to work stress, however, that has all passed now. I will say that I went from uncontrollable coughing and being unable to breathe after doing minor things (like walking), and now I am inhaler-free! Overall, I have had a good experience so far."

For Asthma "I have been using Nucala for 18 months now, and it has genuinely been transformational for me. My asthma was gradually getting worse, and I was using four different inhalers, plus Montelukast and an antihistamine to control the grip that asthma had on me. I had big improvements within weeks of taking Nucala, and my asthma scores each month are now usually all zeros. Where I used to struggle to get to the top floor of my townhouse, I’m now able to regularly visit the gym and have got my running up to 3k without rest, aiming for 5k, and it’s my tired legs holding me back, not my breathing. I don’t think this automatically works for everyone, I was lucky it worked for me, but there are other biologics if this one fails for you."

"I’ve only had 1 dose of Nucala, and it made me feel lightheaded and made my blood pressure drop to 91/60. I still had to stay on the steroids during my relapse, but I’m still hopeful. The plan is to complete, not be off of the steroids and have my CEP in remission. If you also have Chronic Eosinophilic Pneumonia, I would love to compare stories since we are so rare."

For Asthma "I have had 5 injections for asthma. I think it helped, but the back pain, chest pain, itchy torso, itching scalp are unbearable at times. In addition, I developed a urinary tract infection and diverticulitis. GI doctor says the chest pain may be esophageal. I have had chest x-ray, chest scan, heart CT scan - all show nothing unusual. But I don't know what I will do when asthma symptoms recur because the pain is hard to live with every day."

For Asthma "No issues in the injection area. Nothing immediate or that day of the shot. Headaches, but not until the next day or two. It may not be related to Nucala. I've had the 3rd shot now, and I feel a little nausea, but it's been two days."

For Asthma "Nucala makes it so difficult to get the injection that by the time you find a facility that will do it, you're so worn out you give up. And I have insurance that will cover it. Why is it that Dr. offices have to enroll in a prepay program to get the drug? If it was that great, they wouldn't need to do that. Scam."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "Nucala has made a positive contribution to my life. Emergency room visits and three hospitalizations are in the past once I started Nucala every 28 days with three injections totaling 300 ml. All the other symptoms have not come back and my asthma is controlled. I am grateful for the team of doctors that prescribed Nucala."

For Asthma "I had an allergic reaction to Xolair and have been on Nucala for about 3 years now. I always got headaches, felt tired a day or two after I received the injection, but today was different. I got the injection Wednesday, today is Thursday, and when I got home, I wasn't feeling good, real tired, short of breath, my heart was racing, itchy throat, pain in my shoulder and up my neck where I received the shot, which I usually feel, chest is sore and my oxygen was 92-93. I went to the ER, and the doctor told me not to get the injection anymore. He did a chest x-ray and gave me breathing treatments. The injection really gave me a better quality of life, but I am scared to get it again, unsure what to do. My pulmonologist is supposed to call me back Saturday and we're supposed to talk about getting the injection again or not. With Xolair, he said I could die if I get it again, so of course, I said no, I don't want it. Has anyone else experienced this, getting Nucala?"
