Levothyroxine "I've tried EVERYTHING. Armour did not work for me at all. Neither did Levoxyl. I know people who swear by Armour. I've tried generics. The generic made by Abbott Lab worked really well (they also make Synthroid). While I felt better on Synthroid or Abbott's generic, I did not feel NORMAL. Much to my surprise, I feel normal on Tirosint. I have energy I haven't had for more than 15 years. I don't know whether my thyroid will stabilize with this, but I feel the urge to exercise which I've never had on anything else. My brain is clear and my vision is improving. Blood levels were always 'normal' on everything else, but that doesn't mean it was getting cell use. Too expensive, but I can't afford to keep feeling crappy or less than."

Levothyroxine "I started taking this medication, Euthyrox, 30 days ago and I am feeling so horrible. I have upper back pain, neck pain, muscle weakness, terrible indigestion, and acid reflux. I even went to get tested for COVID because I thought that was the issue. I tested negative. Do not take this medication. I feel sharp pains in my arms and overall achy in my throat. In the 38 years I have been taking levothyroxine, I've never had these issues. I'm switching immediately to the name brand."

Levothyroxine "This is the best thyroid medicine I have taken. I took the generic for several years. I was constantly tired and miserable. Finally, I found Tirosint, and I have been so much better. I have been on Tirosint for a year now, and I am so glad to have it. I have not had any side effects."

"Diagnosed earlier this year with hypothyroidism after symptoms. I had gained over 35 pounds in a year. I went to the doctor, and they put me on Levothyroxine (25 mcg). I have been on it for a month, and there is a big difference from before I started the medicine. You must wait at least 6-8 weeks before your body even starts to see results because it takes time! In the month that I have been taking it, I have gone from 184 lbs to 170 lbs! I have not changed my diet or exercise routine at all. I am eating more than before (I had no urge to eat and only ate once a day) and actually have hunger pains now to eat. I also take mine at night before bed (it upset my stomach if I took it during the day) and I have more energy and not feeling bloated!"

Levothyroxine "I began taking my Synthroid three weeks ago, and I feel great. First, I began breaking my 25 mcg pills into quarters and started out taking only a 1/4 pill. I do this in the morning with a glass of water. I am now taking one 25 mcg pill. My sleeping has improved, I have more energy, my skin looks better, and my face does not look tired. I refused to take this drug initially when I was first diagnosed in 2011 because of a bad scare taking the generic brand, so I let my new meds sit for six months before trying this brand. It works wonders for me, and being a life-long gym and karate guy, I have more energy to do laps in the pool and do weights too. I have taken iodine, and it works okay, but nothing like my Synthroid. Time will tell."

Levothyroxine "I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism in the last days of October of this year. My doctor prescribed me 50mcg levothyroxine distributed by Mylan. I was only on the medication for 3 days! The medicine made me so fatigued and tired, I could hardly go through my day without wanting to pass out and go to sleep. And not only that, but my chest was feeling really uncomfortable. It felt like someone had put 20 pounds on my chest and overall having difficulty taking a deep breath. My doctor then prescribed me the brand name Synthroid with only 25mcg. I had energy like I haven't had in a year, but on the third day, I was having shortness of breath, my heart was beating so hard and fast, and I felt so lightheaded. Seriously, scariest experience I have had."

Levothyroxine "I have been using Tirosint for over 8 months. I feel good and more energetic during my day. I can actually get more work done without having to take a midday nap. However, I haven’t done blood work to see how the real effects are taking place within, but for the past two months I have started experiencing terrible joint pains in my wrist, fingers, and legs. Levothyroxine "I have Graves' disease and took RAI (radioactive iodine (I-131)) to treat the disease, which means now I have to top up my thyroid levels. I've previously taken Levoxyl, Synthroid, and lastly Armour. I always felt miserable with Levoxyl and Synthroid, which is why for the last three years I was taking Armour. Within the last year of taking Armour, I've had terrible inflammation, joint pain, anxiety, insomnia, hair loss, dry skin, weight gain, and the list goes on. It was coincidental that I forgot to take an Armour pill and realized how in one day all my symptoms went away. The next day I took my Armour and they all returned. It was so bad that I couldn't even bend my knees. I was miserable! I've been reading about Tirosint for the last few months, and my endo was more than accommodating to let me try it. WOW! What a difference! I'm not as hungry, losing weight, no anxiety, sleeping through the night, and overall just feeling great, as I've never had thyroid issues. However, I did have some heart palpitations last night. I'm going to get my lab work done today, as I feel the dosage may be too high."

Levothyroxine "I took Synthroid for 10 years. I had severe insomnia, so I also took sleeping pills every day. I was depressed, so I took antidepressants every day. I had high blood pressure, so I took drugs for that. I couldn't focus at work, and just getting up in the morning felt like a chore. In 2013, I switched to natural desiccated thyroid drugs (NDT). It felt like waking up from a bad dream. I'm no longer depressed, my sleep hasn't been this good in my entire adult life. It's like night and day. I wish more doctors gave their patients the opportunity to try solutions other than Synthroid, because clearly, it doesn't work for everyone."

"I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2017, just after the school year started, which was a few months before I turned 16. At the time, I felt really tired all the time, I felt envious of my classmates who seemed to be able to run circles around me, literally. My mom became concerned when I never got my period, so she took me to see a doctor. They ordered labs, and what do you know, I have an underactive thyroid. They immediately started me on Levothyroxine, I believe my original dose was 50 mcg, and I felt better within a month, and got my period for the first time the day before my 17th birthday, in late November. I suddenly had the energy to keep up with my friends, I wasn't freezing cold all of the time, and I felt normal, which I hadn't even realized I was missing out on, but now know how huge the difference is. I have zero side effects on this medication."

Levothyroxine "My disabled brother was previously prescribed generic levothyroxine and brand name Synthroid. On both, he was basically in a continual state of lethargy to the point where he would fall asleep on the commode or at the dining table. Never heard of Tirosint until requesting help. This medicine has been incredible. No more lethargy and continuous sleeping during the day. Family members have commented that he is more alert, engaged and seems to be happy. They would be correct!"

Levothyroxine "I have to say I was excited to try Tirosint, but after roughly 8-9 weeks, I started to notice tingling in my legs and left arm. I also noticed redness on my chest and vision issues. I wouldn’t have thought it was the medication, but since I don’t take it one day out of the week, usually every Sunday, I would start to feel better by the end of the day. Once I started to take it again on Mondays, my usual schedule, usually by 4 hours later, I started to get the tingling feeling again. My legs felt weak, and my knees and joints were hurting. I do better on Synthroid."

"I started taking Levothyroxine around 2 months ago, building up from 50 to 75. Recently had blood test back, and my results have come back as normal now! I went from nearly collapsing while out walking my dog. Having aches and pains. Brain fog, no energy at all... falling asleep at the drop of a hat! Fights with hubby, because I was so fatigued! Was going on like that for years, until Doctor gave me the blood test, and realized it was a medical condition. I thought it was me, just being tired and irritable. Now I am starting to recover, slowly, weight gain. Went from 9 stone to 12.2. 3 stone. now I have to lose all this weight because of hypothyroidism... nightmare! But I feel more awake, more energy, hope this review helps someone!"

Levothyroxine "I've been taking Synthroid since October 2010 for my underactive thyroid and am also a type 2 diabetic. It is now February 2011 and things are wonderful. After about two weeks, my mood improved. After 6 weeks, I was able to get a haircut (prior to this my hair kept breaking off at the ends) and my hair shines again. I've also lost a total of 15.5 pounds and counting. My doctor says it's because the Synthroid has corrected my metabolism. No bad side effects to date (fingers crossed for the future too). I am on a low dose...25mg. Monday through to Friday only...Weekends off."

Levothyroxine "For the first few years, I had my OB/GYN monitoring my thyroid and adjusting my Levothyroxine… What a mistake! I never felt good, and come to find out, he was doing it wrong. Not doing the right test to monitor my levels and decreasing my dose when he should've been increasing. I started to see an endocrinologist, and WOW! What a difference. He switched me to name-brand Synthroid only (which made a difference) and checks my levels twice a year to make sure I'm on the correct dose. I feel amazing for the first time in years!"

"I have hypothyroid but still have my thyroid. So Levo works well for me. Lowers my TSH and even aided in weight loss. I always have better bowel movements when taking this medication. It stopped my hair from stripping out. BUT, at first, it did cause my heart to race when I was bumped up to 0.75, and it does cause fatigue. I would get really sweaty when I started taking the 0.75. I see now why they don't want you taking this if you've been experiencing heart attack symptoms because boy did this make me feel like I was having one. Only issues I had with taking 0.50 were the fatigue, but my TSH was steady going down. The side effects have subsided. Guess I just needed to stick it out. I feel better on levothyroxine than without it. It works. Prayers for healing for us all <3"

Levothyroxine "Great medication for those who have absorption issues (Celiac, dairy intolerances, etc.) and no T3 conversion problems. On that note, you will find that a specific dose of Tirosint will feel much higher than that same dose in regular Levothyroxine, for example. As a gel cap with no fillers, more medication is able to absorb into your system. Start with a much lower dose than you think you need and work your way up. Over the past 10 years, I've tried Armour Thyroid, NP Thyroid, NatureThroid, Levothyroxine, and Synthroid. With all the other medications, I always felt like I was constantly increasing my dose. At one point, I was on 200 mcg of Levothyroxine. I'm now taking 25 mcg of Tirosint 5-6 days a week. My levels have never been as 'steady' as they are with Tirosint, and it's nice to know I only need a small dose of it as opposed to depending on such a large dose on a daily basis. The only downside is the price, but it makes a world of difference."

Levothyroxine "I was on a low dose for 2 weeks and developed a rash and sore throat. I thought it was a virus. After 2 more weeks, I developed a severe headache, neck pain, and dizziness. Stopped the medication 5 days ago and am still having issues, but the severe headache is less. Not sure how long it will be before it is all out of my system."

Levothyroxine "While it brought the TSH into the appropriate range, the exhaustion, lethargy, constipation, etc. was unbearable. For 20 hours out of the day, felt drowsy, unmotivated, and sleepy. This is no way to live. Got on Tirosint and what a difference."

"I've been taking levothyroxine for a week and a half now, and before it, I would fall asleep at work, when I was driving, or just watching TV. There was a time that I went through 5 different sleep medications in 2 months to try and figure out the right one because nothing was working for me. My whole body ached, and worst of all, my hair was falling out. The first couple of days taking the medication, my body ached really bad, but it got better. I lost 12 pounds already, and my hair stopped falling out. I am also able to get through the day without falling asleep, and because I don't fall asleep during the day, I get tired during the night! I love it."

Levothyroxine "I've been on Synthroid (Levothyroxine) for about a year and a half now. They've changed my dose 4 times so far and I'm currently at 100 mcg. Once they keep me on a dose for a bit, I feel okay, but with every change I have a few annoying side effects. I can say that if you take it every day like you're supposed to, it will work eventually. You have to be patient, it won't make you feel great right away. It took me about 3 months. But it helped with my lethargy, weight, and even depression. It's pretty good if you take it as prescribed. If you stop taking it suddenly, the effects of hypothyroidism come back pretty quickly and severely, so I recommend taking it as your doctor states."
