Leuprolide "1 year on Lupron 3-month shots after I had prostate removed with 1 spot of cancer spreading to hip 5 months after removal. 3 hits of radiation cleared spot. PSA undetectable for 1 year now with hot flashes only side effect, but now knee and ankle ligament sensitivity like hitting the funny bone... little numbness starting in the same areas. I'm considering a vacation until a PSA rise? Risky but don't want more damage in legs and hope it will reverse some? Been taking fenbendazole, Joe Tippins Protocol, over the same year. Good luck to all during your life's journey and see ya on the other side ✨️"

Leuprolide "I have been on Lupron for 20 months now, and it reduced my PSA from .64 to undetectable. The side effects for me have been hot flashes a couple of times a day, loss of body hair, 20 pounds of weight gain, and complete loss of my sexual function and appetite. I will be going off Lupron when this shot wears off in a couple of months. I have been receiving the 6-month shot. I am 67 years old and have high-risk prostate cancer, have had my prostate removed, and went through 38 rounds of radiation. I feel I am doing as well as can be expected and do everything I like to do minus my libido. Good luck to all!"

Leuprolide "Weakness, itching skin, high blood pressure, increased A1C and glucose levels, diminished platelet level and red blood cells. It has reduced my PSA from 7.8 to 1.6. Have taken additional drugs to reduce blood pressure, another to help with urinary incontinence, and antihistamine for itching skin."

"The most common side effect (several times per day) is hot flashes. Also, depression and anxiety, especially at night. I am on the 6-month interval for prostate cancer. I have also experienced loss of muscle mass and increased belly fat but have been able to counter these side effects with increased exercise, especially weight lifting. My testicles have shrunk noticeably and my desire for sex has dramatically decreased, although not entirely. I am able to attain an erection with medication but not fully and not long-lasting. I use Sildenafil."

Leuprolide "I've been taking it for over a year and noticed a pronounced sadness and depression that wasn't there before. I am an adult male. I also have weight gain even though I exercise. I have to force myself to do things. My PSA and testosterone have come down to almost zero."

Leuprolide "I have been treated with Lupron Depot for seven years now for my prostate cancer, along with radiation, Taxotere infusions, and apalutamide. After reading the list of side effects, I now understand that my problems with memory loss, irritability, lack of energy, and trouble sleeping were due to this medication. My cancer remains but is not progressing, and my oncologist is happy with my progress and blood work."

Leuprolide "The 7 months of treatment I am on, along with 9 weeks of radiation, appears to be working well. My PSA (with stage 3 prostate cancer) went from 7+ to 0.05. That said, I am fighting brain fog, fatigue, slight weight gain, loss of sexual interest, nearly chronic dry cough, general itching, and joint and muscle pain. Looking forward to the product wearing off starting around 6 weeks from now. Strongly recommend resistance exercise, it helps a great deal!"

"I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer-non-metastatic-in July 2019, with a Gleason score of 9, 8, and 7. Began Elegard/Lupron in August 2019, 2 months prior to 45 days of radiation, and have continued on a 4-month regimen of Lupron injections. During the first year on this drug, I had the basic side effects of hot flashes, chills, mood swings, and some aches. Now going into the second year on Lupron, I have severe side effects with a lump on my left knee with severe swelling with overuse; pain in my hips and shoulders that come and go; tingling and numbness in my hands that wake me up at night; ringing in my ears; fatigue; and I have lost the ability to use my right thumb that comes and goes like severe arthritis. I was previously a very calm and caring person, but now I become angry and have high-risk behaviors, not caring if I get into an argument with someone, which I try to control. I used to be an avid runner but cannot do this anymore due to severe pain and swelling in my left leg."

Leuprolide "76YO. Got Bicalutamide pills and a Lupron shot twice before my 'High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)' operation to kill my prostate in 2019. Fatigue was my worst side effect. Did serious and intense Max Gerson Cancer Protocol therapy for three years. Totally off alcohol and mostly vegetarian. Mostly no carbs. Lost twenty pounds. When PSA started creeping up, my urologist put me on strictly Bicalutamide pills once a day (50mg). Negligible PSA for almost two years until tender breast and some enlargement took me off it. Been off for six months and back to normal in every way, including testosterone. PSA is creeping up again, and I think I will go back to the pills but only once or twice a week and see how my PSA does. I get the PSA checked every other month. I feel very good."

Leuprolide "I got this injection about a month ago. In the last week I have had several of the side effects such as gastro issues involving constipation and diarrhea. I also occasionally feel bloated. Also, hot and cold chills. My number one complaint is the pain in my left thigh bone. I haven't slept well with this pain and discomfort. Just in that one area on my thigh. I have not gotten any other side effects."

Leuprolide "Have been getting 3-month injections of this for 4 cycles. Also had Docetaxel and Nubeqa. Apart from low energy, I have had no side effects from any of these drugs. I mean nothing. Low and lowering testosterone and PSA. I do not expect prostate cancer treatment to leave my sexual function unchanged. I am nearly 79 years of age. Eligard seems to be working and is causing me no ill issues."

Leuprolide "Well, for the men's side of this deal, this is a tricky drug to compile complaints on, because its intended purpose does show efficacy in working, but it has major other side effects that some can be permanent, as well as a lot of extra risks and long-term quality of life issues due to the terrible side effect risks this drug has. It helps one thing but causes a lot of other issues, so overall health, quality of life, and the risk of cancer need super careful consideration before doing this drug at all. It's not a joke drug like 'take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning' kind of thing. The other effect this drug has is not a curative effect, it's just a 'hey, slow down, don't spread so fast' type of deal. It's an added line of defense drug, not a curative type. For high-risk persons, it may be of value for them to do, lower-risk types should avoid it. Have to decide if the trade-offs of worse quality of life over staying alive longer are worth it, that's based on cancer grade and risks."

Leuprolide "I have had a prostatectomy followed by biochemical recurrence, and my physician recommended one year of Lupron Depot and 45 sessions of external beam radiation, provided simultaneously. I selected the 3-month injection due to reports of possibly fewer side effects. I am nearly finished with my first 3-month Lupron injection and only have 15 more radiation sessions. Side effects from Lupron have been extremely minimal. I had no injection site reaction or pain. I experienced body heat at times, especially when sleeping, but it has been minimal. I just have to remove my sweatshirt or uncover in bed. I do keep my bedroom cooler, and this helps. I have been dizzy but had dizziness before the Lupron or external beam radiation upon getting up from a seated position. Walking required me to slow down due to mild dizziness. I work out daily with free weights, 100 crunches, and 20-30 minutes on a stationary bike, and I firmly believe that this has helped. I had fatigue with exercise for the first week."

Leuprolide "I have been on Lupron for 16 (of scheduled 18 months) to help suppress the return of prostate cancer. So far, the cancer is resolved. The side effects for me have been tiredness, mild depression, leg weakness and mild leg pain, mental fog, weakened memory, diminished thought clarity, significant muscle reduction, and lack of energy. Also, occasional diarrhea. Use was probably effective as cancer has not returned."

Leuprolide "I'm 74, and I've been fighting prostate cancer for 8 years: radical prostatectomy, then heavy doses of radiation when the cancer returned the first time. Then another round of radiation when the cancer returned again. Last week, I started hormone therapy (Eligard), and I can barely get out of bed, I am so fatigued. Can anyone tell me if the fatigue situation improves with time? No way I can live with this for very long. Thanks."

Leuprolide "I was diagnosed with high-risk prostate cancer. I opted for complete removal of the prostate and follow-up treatment of ADT and radiation treatment. My first injection was June 2023, and the second was January 2024. PSA test every three months since the first injection, and PSA was 0.00. I experienced many of the normal side effects from the Lupron injections, the worst has been the fatigue, joint pain, sweats, and hot flashes. It has been almost a year since my last injection. I still have some lingering side effects, with the worst and most often the sweats and hot flashes."
