For Glaucoma, Open Angle "I was prescribed latanoprost for elevated eye pressure due to the beginning stages of glaucoma. After reading the reviews, I have to admit I was skeptical about this medication. However, I thought, I won't know if this will work for me if I don't try. Been on the drops for a month and followed directions. So far, no side effects at all. I keep my meds in the fridge, even though the package says you don't have to. But no stinging, burning, blurred vision, dry eye, runny nose, heart palpitations, shoulder, or any muscular pain, etc. The drops are easy to use. The only reason I rated this med a 5 is because I have not been back for my follow-up yet. I will update."

Latanoprost ophthalmic for Intraocular Hypertension "About 4 years ago, my eye pressure was discovered to be 21 with no nerve damage. I had exams every two years prior and it was normal. Luckily, it was discovered early and I was given Xalatan, one drop in each eye daily. There was a little burning at first, but it was tolerable and only lasted a minute or so, and not every time. Now, it's very rare. After monitoring every six months for the first two years, and now only yearly exams needed as pressure is at a steady 11. No nerve damage. Though I must take this medication forever, it sure beats the alternative - developing glaucoma, irreversible damage, and blindness. Additionally, not missing any exams is for one's own benefit. Note: getting yearly physicals and exams is proactive in keeping healthy, and any abnormalities can be detected early on and treated before greater damage is done. This is a simple task, and may no one hear their doctor say, 'If we had caught this earlier...'. Take care of yourself and be safe!"

For Glaucoma, Open Angle "I have taken latanoprost for over 3 months now. My left eye feels like something is in it and it burns, and now I cannot stand to watch T.V. because the light hurts my eyes. I am trying to change my eye drop, but it is good for getting your pressure down, but I cannot watch T.V. ever again."

Latanoprost ophthalmic for Glaucoma, Open Angle "This is better than LUMIGAN. LUMIGAN gave me flu-like joint symptoms. Have stinging pain, but tolerable. At least Xalatan doesn’t have flu-like pains. Though by 5:30 pm each day, my eyes and eye areas are super burning. Had to use aloe vera sunburn creams and cucumber (it was either that or a packet of frozen peas on my face). FYI, laser didn’t change my pressure, turns out it only works for 80 percent of people. Re Xalatan, I’m not sure I can tolerate this extreme sunburnt for that long."

Latanoprost ophthalmic for Intraocular Hypertension "I'm doing just fine, but then again I have a high tolerance for most things. Also, would much rather have a little burning than blindness."

Latanoprost ophthalmic for Glaucoma, Open Angle "My eye doctor gave me two samples to use after I complained about the eye medication I was using, burning my eyes and giving me headaches. Xelpros doesn't burn my eyes or cause me headaches like my last medication did. My doctor said Xelpros doesn't contain a preservative like the other one I was using, and many patients like it better. When I went to pick up my first prescription from Walgreens, they were charging me $200 even with my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, which I pay close to $500 a month for. These pharmaceutical companies are criminals, fleecing people whom they have over a barrel. And our government allows it. Disgusting."
