For Intraocular Hypertension "These drops caused TERRIBLE heart palpitations and anxiety that kept me awake at night and jittery all day long. The doctors could not figure out what was wrong and put me through numerous tests for my heart. Thinking that it could be the drops, I was prescribed a new medication. After being off this medication for a couple of weeks, the palpitations stopped and I began feeling like myself again. So thankful that this toxic medication is finally out of my body."

Latanoprost ophthalmic for Intraocular Hypertension "Originally diagnosed with glaucoma, had laser eye surgery but over the years eye pressures increased and prescribed Xalatan (Latanoprost). No significant problems. But when the pharmacist swapped for a generic version 2 years ago, I had problems like feeling queasy, palpitations, urinary incontinence weakness, and generally not feeling well. Changed the prescription immediately back to Xalatan, and had no problems. This happened again yesterday, given generic Latanoprost and thought I would give it a further try, big mistake, terrible night's sleep, and will be going back to the pharmacist immediately for a change back to Xalatan! But if I had a choice, I would not take any of these drugs, all very powerful."

For Glaucoma, Open Angle "I was prescribed latanoprost for elevated eye pressure due to the beginning stages of glaucoma. After reading the reviews, I have to admit I was skeptical about this medication. However, I thought, I won't know if this will work for me if I don't try. Been on the drops for a month and followed directions. So far, no side effects at all. I keep my meds in the fridge, even though the package says you don't have to. But no stinging, burning, blurred vision, dry eye, runny nose, heart palpitations, shoulder, or any muscular pain, etc. The drops are easy to use. The only reason I rated this med a 5 is because I have not been back for my follow-up yet. I will update."

For Intraocular Hypertension "I do not like this drug because it causes me depression and anxiety (and palpitations). I am either dizzy or crying or have an upset stomach. I am so afraid because this is supposed to be the best glaucoma med, top of the top with the least side effects, and I have partial vision loss in my left eye already. I can't even imagine inferior glaucoma drugs with more severe side effects. After suffering for a month, I decided to try pinching my nose by tear ducts for 2-3 minutes after applying drops to prevent spreading systemically, but I still seem to struggle. I'm 69 years old and use levothyroxine for Hashimoto's Hypothyroid, so maybe I'm more sensitive. It did lower my IOP but I want to try preservative-free latanoprost first before switching to a different kind."

For Intraocular Hypertension "I was prescribed Latanoprost for high IOP. Immediately I didn't feel great and complained to the doctor, but was told I need to weigh the benefits. I did a little research here and there searching for ideas and learned a couple of tips to reduce systemic toxicity. I used a special silicone eye drop reservoir to dispense my drops and used one drop between both eyes as the eye supposedly can only absorb half a drop at a time. I also pinched closed my tear duct for two minutes with my eyes shut. A couple of months went by not feeling great, depressed and anxious, and stomach issues, but still 'using.' Very exhausted, more and more needing long naps and began crying all the time. So anxious and I developed palpitations, constantly! I went to see my doctor and I'm scheduled for a heart monitor because my heart can't work right. And I started reading these articles and WOW! Is it the Latanoprost, I thought?! Thanks to everyone who gives reviews. It may be saving lives."
