For Plaque Psoriasis "My husband had severe plaque psoriasis for over 20 years. Nothing has come close to clearing it until Taltz. One week after the initial dose, we could see a significant difference. He is plaque-free now! Looking forward to our first vacation that he will wear shorts and swim trunks in a few weeks!! He has had a very intense sinus infection, but cleared with antibiotics, but still had some recurring drainage. But...a few weeks ago, he injected it in his thigh instead of the stomach. Shortly after, he began having knee pain in that leg. It has increased to the point that it is difficult to walk. Has anyone else experienced this?"

For Plaque Psoriasis "I was able to control my psoriasis for 6 years on Humira when it stopped working. The dermatologist switched me to Taltz 4 months ago. Initially, I thought it was going to work as the first month it appeared to get better, however, now three months later I have dealt with thrush I cannot get rid of and a rash all over my shoulders, upper back, and chest that is so painful and itchy. Any sunlight now makes my skin crawl, and it is in the middle of summer. The plaques are returning at a multiplying rate. The injections are horribly painful. I have a high tolerance for pain (no epidural with either of two pregnancies), and this is awful. Apparently, there is a reason why my insurance would not cover this."

For Psoriasis "I had psoriasis that the dermatologist diagnosed with a biopsy and spondylitis in the spine found with X-rays, as well as back pain, swollen toes, and more. Taltz pushed psoriasis into remission (it only acts up occasionally on the scalp, and I treat it with fungicide). Psoriatic arthritis and spondylitis are better too. All symptoms are minor now. Could not do much until I got Taltz. I had pain, swelling, cramping, and had given up working out and more. Now I am plaque free, can go to the gym, and am getting my life back thanks to Taltz. It's a very painful injection, but it's over in a few minutes, and I am grateful. Use ice, Tylenol, and Benadryl with a lidocaine patch 30 minutes before injection. Have the doctor give you your injection (not you), and it's worth it. Use a syringe, not an auto-injector pen. I had IBS before Taltz, and Linzess helps my tummy. Nausea managed with magnesium gummies and ginger caps in the morning. Insurance paid because of the biopsy, X-rays, and the doctor diagnosed all properly. My insurance covers, and the most paid was $5.00 per month. I think it's a great drug as long as it is injected right."

For Psoriasis "This is the most painful thing I have EVER injected. Why? Imagine a red-hot poker searing a hole through your skin, that's what it feels like to me. I don't know if I can continue this stuff, the pain is ridiculous."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Was on another medication (Cosentyx) until insurance shut me down, and I switched to Taltz. Both worked really well for my plaque psoriasis, pretty much complete clearance achieved in ~3 months. The only major difference between the two was that the Taltz injection was easily 5x as painful. If Cosentyx was a fly landing on your hand, Taltz was a hornet sting. I suppose it's worth the pain if you have good clearance, but ouch."

For Psoriasis "Taltz has been very, very good for my psoriasis. The injection does hurt a lot. But it is bearable and I would take 10 seconds of a shot anyway rather than live with plaque psoriasis."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Second biologic and by far the most painful."

For Psoriasis "Guttate psoriasis over 50% of legs for 20 years. I’ve tried light therapy, steroid creams, Tazorac, Otezla, and Cosentyx. Otezla made me nauseous and did nothing. Creams would help slightly, but it took weeks and also left my skin raw and peeling. Cosentyx for 9 months made them slightly smaller, but no real noticeable change. Just had my week 2 dose of Taltz. I have to say it might be just the initial loading dose of a biologic repeating, but it is actually better. A long way to go, but I am hopeful. And I agree that the autoinjector pen is ridiculously painful. Brings tears, and I am pretty tough. It is short-lived though, and praying this biologic finally makes it to where I can wear shorts."
