Imipramine for Depression "Started with 25mg of Tofranil and worked our way up to 75mg. It has been very effective for my depression/anxiety. At first, it made me a little drowsy, but that is no longer the case. I take it midday now. Blood pressure and pulse are within the normal range. No side effects besides a slight increase in appetite."

For Depression "This drug does something that affects one's entire body. I'm far more worried now that my heart will stop than about the depression that this med was given for. Nearly 45 hours since the last dose and I still can't feel my skin. Horrible, horrible drug."

For Depression "Imipramine - started it way back in 1982 for clinical depression and took it for 5-6 years. It gave me sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucinations, waking and lucid dreams too. I remember telling my psyche about the sleep paralysis (SP), he didn't know why it was happening. Of course, back then, nobody knew what to call it, and I couldn't find out anything on my own until the early 2000s on the internet. Go figure. Occasionally, I'll still have an episode of SP, under stress. The medicine was great for my depression and ADHD, mucked up my dream life though. Not worth the risk if I had to do it all over again. I did enjoy the waking dreams though and the OBEs."

For Panic Disorder "People are so different! I've been on Imipramine/Tofranil now for 44 years. It literally saved my life and career. Endogenous (from within) not Reactive Anxiety/Panic/Depressive Disorder from my mom set in around 19 years old. Periodically, I would quit only to get slammed and take months to get better again. Then I tried the new stuff, Prozac."

For Primary Nocturnal Enuresis "Side effects are horrendous. I would rather wear a pad! Side effects: hot flashes, neck pain, muscle spasms, decreased sensation left hand/arm, dizzy, hypotension when standing, and no instruction about weaning off."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I started taking the 10 mg of imipramine in September 2020 for my IBSD. I was told to take it at night because it makes you drowsy. I had the total opposite reaction. It kept me up at night and did not make me drowsy at all. I ended up switching to take it in the morning instead. By November, I noticed that the low dosage was not helping much with my IBSD. My doctor upped my dose to 25 mg, and I started having horrible night sweats. I was waking up every hour at night drenched in sweats. Other than that, this medication really worked for my stomach when the dose was at 25 mg. I wish I did not have this horrible side effect!"

For Depression "I have started imipramine. I am just a little doubtful about most of the medicine, especially anti-depressants (SSRIs), causing bad psoriasis and acid reflux. So, I am trying imipramine now. In a time duration, I will let you know the feedback."

For Panic Disorder "Dramatic and long-lasting suppression of panic disorder with very low dose Tofranil: 10-25 mg QD. No apparent side effects at this low dosage, but full benefit. Can be taken QHS to avoid early morning panic attacks. Dosage may vary from person to person."

Imipramine for Depression "Waste of 75 bucks. My mood only increased slightly, and in exchange I got terrible bouts of dizziness and vertigo. Most of the time I felt like I'd been shot with a tranquilizer dart. Horrible experience. After only a week or so, I started to get nausea as well, so I had to stop. I regret spending money on this med."
