Hydrocodone for Pain "I have chronic back and neck pain from 2 car accidents. I was rear-ended. Had to have a 3-level cervical fusion with a titanium plate 5 years ago. I was on Exalgo 8 mg, with Dilaudid or Norco for breakthrough pain. Norco always worked better for breakthrough pain, but didn't like being forced to take acetaminophen that's in Norco. Just switched to 10 mg Zohydro 2x/day. Side effects were headache, nausea, and a knot in my stomach, which lasted the first 1-2 hours. My doctor gave me Zofran for nausea, which worked. My pain control is great! I am also sleeping much better. I do take some Norco for breakthrough, but it's so much better! This is day 3, and side effects seem to be gone! Great medicine. Need to get the coupon working for me. Thanks, Zohydro!"

Hydrocodone for Pain "This medicine took forever to work at all and didn't touch my foot, back, knee, or migraine pain. What it did do is make me horribly nauseous, gave me hot sweats and shakes, made my hair fall out by the handful, and costs almost $200 for 30 pills. The prescription card only covers a month, but it was time and money wasted. What a horrible experience!"

Hydrocodone for Pain "I have only taken Zohydro ER today. After 5 years of constant pain due to a back injury and R.A. today is the first day I have been pain-free. I can actually enjoy sitting up watching TV pain-free. Just 24 hours ago, my pain was so bad it ruled my life. Thanks to Zohydro ER, I see a light at the end of a very, very long tunnel. The only side effect I have experienced today is I have had spells of being a bit sick to my stomach. But I do think being pain-free outweighs that."

Hydrocodone for Pain "MS Contin 60 mg daily since 1998 with breakthrough pain combo with MSC-IR 30 mg 3x day. Some dizziness and nausea at times with MS Contin. Began Hysingla ER 60 mg daily 3 months ago with excellent results. No lumbar pain. 80% CSPINE pain reduction and NO side effects period. It does work around the clock. Chronic discogenic pain in lumbar since 1989 post 3 level lumbar laminectomy. PCDF C2-C5 and ACDF C5-C6 with 80% pain relief. Miracle Rx for me! NO addiction issues. Feel NO high with sustained release meds. Just wish the price will go down soon! Highly recommend for those with moderate-severe lumbar pain that tolerate opiates well. Also, like MSC, NO liver panels."

Hydrocodone for Pain "I have been taking Hysingla 40 ER for approximately 2 weeks. I am experiencing a severe headache, nausea, and the pain has not subsided one bit. I have tried taking this medicine at different times of the day, hoping it was just the time frame. I have severe withdrawal symptoms and cannot function. I'm very close to losing my job. I was not abusing my Norco, why am I being punished for drug addicts??!!!"

Hydrocodone for Pain "I have 3 herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and osteoarthritis. I suffer from constant pain every day. I've been on Norco 10/325 4x a day for 3 years now and never abused my medication. A few months ago, my doctor had me try Hysingla ER 40 mg. This medication only lasts about 17 hours and gave me about 30-40% relief with random breakthrough pain. Plus, I felt lethargic the entire day, nauseous, constipated, anxious, and excessive yawning. After putting up with it for two months, I talked with my doctor, and he switched me back to the Norco. So disappointed. I had high hopes for this medication since it was one pill every 24 hours. It just does not work as promised and is expensive."

Hydrocodone for Pain "I'm currently on oxycodone 5 mg 3 times a day. I talked with my Dr about the extended-release option, and he prescribed Hysingla 20 mg for 24 hours. I had high hopes for this because I was hoping for continued pain relief. When my insurance finally approved me for this medication, I was happy, that was until I took my first few day's doses. It was just too strong, and I felt nauseous and sick the whole time I was on this medication. I was going to see my Dr the next month to get back my regular prescription. Hopefully, something will come on the market that works for 24 hours without making me sick."

Hydrocodone for Pain "I have been taking Hysingla 20 mg for a month. I was taking Norco 5-325 up to 4 a day for chronic back pain post-6 surgeries. I was switched to Hysingla due to elevated liver enzymes from Tylenol. I have bile duct structure and do what I can to keep liver enzymes lower. I only took what I absolutely had to daily of Norco, averaging 2 Norco a day. Since I have started the Hysingla, I have had a moderately severe headache and nausea every day. I'm not sure which is worse, the liver pain or headache. The nausea I tolerate. I have decided to stop taking the Hysingla and go back to the Norco. I would rather take as little as possible of medication and still be in pain than have an increase in pain and be flat on my back for 6 hours with a headache."

Hydrocodone for Pain "24-hour medicine for pain. I only got 6 hours of minimal relief. Started on the 20 mg for 1 month, then Dr. switched me to 40 mg for 1 month, then 30 mg for 1 month. It always seemed to start working long after I took it, about 12 hours, and made me extremely sleepy and tired, along with pain. In the 3 months I took it, I gained 15 pounds without even eating more or differently because I was constantly nauseous with it. Who wants food when queasy? I have been prescribed an instant release pain med and have been on it for 2 days. It works great with no side effects, and I have lost the 7 lbs of the 15 that Hysingla made me gain. Hopefully, the other 8 lbs will come off quickly too because the weight gain from the drug caused my A1C to go"

For Pain "First pill, I had nausea and constipation that sent me to the ER. No pain relief there. I took a couple more doses when I had already taken other pain medications that couldn't be repeated until a couple of hours later, and I had no pain relief—nor any bad side effects. Can't use it for pain or to even make myself constipated if I wanted that! Super hyped-up, overrated junk."

Hydrocodone for Pain "I took 10 mg, 3x a day hydrocodone for a year prior to a new pain doc in a new state requiring I switch to Hysingla ER. I had only had one 10 mg hydrocodone for each of the two days prior to beginning the Hysingla, so this was not withdrawals. An hour after the 20 mg pill, my heart was pounding hard, short of breath, which progressed to severe abdominal pain, nausea, the worst pain of my life (easily 2-3x my very worst days with stage 3 adhesive arachnoiditis, Ehlers-Danlos, and innumerable tarlov cysts on my spinal cord), joint pain, muscle pain and spasms, and I could literally feel my CSF pulsing in my spinal cord. The doc actually made me take a second dose because she thought I was in withdrawal. I vomited the 2nd one and nearly aspirated it."

For Pain "I was prescribed Zogenix ZoHydro 40 mg for back and MS pain, works pretty good, some minor GI upset. I was then switched to a generic brand by Norwich Pharm (Alvogen), and they make me very sick (GI) reflux, bloating, tenesmus, nausea. I had a few name-brand capsules left, took those, and had no issues, took the generic again, and GI side effects returned. Why would this occur with a generic vs. name brand?"

Hydrocodone for Pain "Update. Took Hysingla 30 mg for 1 month, with 10/325 Norco. Hysingla A.M. gave severe headaches and nausea. I switched to 10 pm and now I wake up less stiff, but can't tell the difference during the day. I still do Norco every 4 hours. I had a caudal epidural injection today. It was supposed to be my follow-up appointment too, but never had a chance to speak to the PA about the new Hysingla. She mentioned last month if I tolerated it well, she may increase the dose to 40 mg. I've tried to research 80 mg per day total, but can't find the answer, I know that's what she'll look at. I'd like to call and ask about getting Hysingla corrected to 40 mg for this month instead. I hate to waste money for no improvements again. I won't know if the caudal worked for a few days yet, all other injections only lasted 1-2 weeks. Answers??"

For Pain "I take Oxycodone HCL for fibromyalgia, CFS/ME, four times a day at 20 mg. It really helps my breakthrough pain. I'm glad to have it. I also take Hysingla ER 100 mg. I don't really get what the Hysingla is supposed to do if there is expected breakthrough pain? I'm still trying to read about it. Thank God I have Oxycodone to help me be able to function. I haven't had any severe side effects that I couldn't handle. The one I hate most is the constipation, it makes me ill. I get nauseous and pain in my side until it's taken care of."

For Pain "I ate food before and during my first dose. I felt nauseous and had a headache an hour later. Seven hours later, I vomited my dinner I ate 30 minutes before. Never had side effects like this before with other pain pills. However, the dull pain in my jaw subsided, so I guess it did its job."

For Pain "This medication works great for pain, but gives me a constant feeling like I always need to brush my teeth or chew gum. I've been on it for two years due to a spine and shoulder injury that is pretty severe. The worst thing ever is the constipation. I have to take Dulcolax twice a week just to feel like I'm not 900 pounds of pure poop. But hydrocodone takes care of the pain quite a bit, so that it is manageable pain. It doesn't get rid of all the pain obviously, but enough that I can work and sleep without the excruciating pain my injuries normally bring me. I experienced no nausea from this medication, either. Downside is that it's extremely addictive. I don't have an addictive personality, so I can go days without it if my pain levels are low, and I don't even think about it. But it's worrisome how addictive it is for some."

Hydrocodone for Pain "After three years of taking oxycodone 10 ER and oxycodone 5 IR for three cervical anterior and posterior with instrumentation, I asked my spine doctor to change me to Zohydro ER. The oxy was making me sick to my stomach, and I was dizzy and tired. I have to report that after a few months on the Zohydro ER, I was able to transition to not only getting off the oxy but I am almost pill-free and pain-free. I am so grateful for Zohydro ER. I was afraid I was getting addicted to the oxycodone, and with the Zohydro ER, I had no feeling of euphoria. I am so grateful. Thank you for giving me back my life."
