For Pain "I took one dose. I had no reduction in pain compared to Norco 10/325, 2-3 a day. In fact, I had more pain. Terrible side effects including a spike in blood pressure, headache, felt woozy, rapid pulse, and what I believe to be an anxiety attack. It was a nightmare, and all I could do was wait for it to finally wear off. I have impaired kidneys, so it took 36 hours to leave my system. Horrible experience!"

For Pain "This has been the most costly, ineffective, pain-causing nightmare of my life! Not only did my insurance company deny its use, it actually caused more musculoskeletal pain than I already have! My joints feel like they have all been run over by a truck! The side effects are horrible! I only just figured out today, after being on this medication for the past 3 weeks, that the actual medication was making my pain worse! I have so much joint pain that I can barely get out of bed, not to mention the constant headache and severe fatigue! I will definitely not continue this medication, in fact, as of today, I am done and am going back to OxyContin. It may have a terrible reputation for being addictive, but at least no side effects!"

For Pain "I'm having a terrible time with the Hysingla. The 40 mg was so strong I couldn't function. I've been on 30 mg for a week. The headaches, I'm tired all the time, cramping. Overall, I feel like crap. I have nothing for breakout pain but Tylenol. I understand why doctors prescribe this because of abuse, but I have only taken what's prescribed. It's bad enough that I'm actually on a forum complaining."

For Pain "I have been taking Hysingla 40 ER for approximately 2 weeks. I am experiencing a severe headache, nausea, and the pain has not subsided one bit. I have tried taking this medicine at different times of the day, hoping it was just the time frame. I have severe withdrawal symptoms and cannot function. I'm very close to losing my job. I was not abusing my Norco, why am I being punished for drug addicts??!!!"

For Pain "I started taking Hysingla 40 mg about 10 days ago. It does take the pain away about 80% of the time. I wake up through the night with only about 3 hours of sleep. I also have terrible headaches now. I don't know if any of this is related to my medication, as I checked the side effects, but this has only started since then. You would think taking pain medication I wouldn't have headaches. Talking to my pain management doctor next week."

For Pain "Everyone complaining about headaches and worse pain need to toughen up and wait two weeks before giving up on Hysingla. The headaches and increased pain I think are from Norco 'withdrawal.' Your brain just needs a week to adapt to the new dosing. Those complaining about it taking a long time to start working or not being consistent are, of course, correct. No XR meds are perfect, but they prevent turmoil caused by peaks and valleys of IR meds...and that is worth it long-term. Give Hysingla a chance. The worst thing about my experience is that during titration, the doctors are following guidelines to 'round down' from their Norco dose. That's backwards, the dose should be higher with any XR."

For Pain "I have been taking Hysingla 20 mg for a month. I was taking Norco 5-325 up to 4 a day for chronic back pain post-6 surgeries. I was switched to Hysingla due to elevated liver enzymes from Tylenol. I have bile duct structure and do what I can to keep liver enzymes lower. I only took what I absolutely had to daily of Norco, averaging 2 Norco a day. Since I have started the Hysingla, I have had a moderately severe headache and nausea every day. I'm not sure which is worse, the liver pain or headache. The nausea I tolerate. I have decided to stop taking the Hysingla and go back to the Norco. I would rather take as little as possible of medication and still be in pain than have an increase in pain and be flat on my back for 6 hours with a headache."

For Pain "Hysingla is truly the best option for chronic pain sufferers. Slight headaches, no other side effect. Headache goes away with breakthrough pain relief 800 ibuprofen. It does not give you that 'high' feeling other prescribed opiates do. I disagree with many of these reviews because they all don't like it and want their icy back... there is a reason if you didn't ask, but your doctor just switched you to an abuse deterrent medicine. Please stop making it more difficult in the insurance process to want to cover this drug. There are real pained people who benefit from this medicine and have their lives back."

For Pain "Update. Took Hysingla 30 mg for 1 month, with 10/325 Norco. Hysingla A.M. gave severe headaches and nausea. I switched to 10 pm and now I wake up less stiff, but can't tell the difference during the day. I still do Norco every 4 hours. I had a caudal epidural injection today. It was supposed to be my follow-up appointment too, but never had a chance to speak to the PA about the new Hysingla. She mentioned last month if I tolerated it well, she may increase the dose to 40 mg. I've tried to research 80 mg per day total, but can't find the answer, I know that's what she'll look at. I'd like to call and ask about getting Hysingla corrected to 40 mg for this month instead. I hate to waste money for no improvements again. I won't know if the caudal worked for a few days yet, all other injections only lasted 1-2 weeks. Answers??"

For Pain "I have been on the pain patch, but it gave me such headaches. I've been on Hysingla for a few months at night, I take it. I only sleep 4 to 5 hours a night. When it works, it's amazing."

For Pain "Was forced to switch from 4 to 6 Norco every 24 hrs. to Hysingla ER 30. I've gotten massive headaches every day in the past 6 wks since starting it, far less pain relief, itching, and swollen abdomen. My Dr. insists I need to stick with it."
