Homatropine / hydrocodone for Cough "This seems to be the only cough syrup that stops my chronic non-productive cough as it doesn't knock me out. At one time, the directions were 1-2 tsps/4 hours. I found out that 2 tsps will make me drowsy and nauseous, so I stick to 1 teaspoon."

Homatropine / hydrocodone for Cough "I kept this cough syrup even though it was five years old. Took it to stop an uncontrollable cough and boy, did it work! I was able to sleep soundly, better than ever. Woke up and did not feel like moving much. I would not take this if I had to go to work in the day. I only took one teaspoon and have done it for two nights."

Homatropine / hydrocodone for Cough "I was given this for the bad cough I have with the flu and a double ear infection. It definitely is the best cough suppressant I've ever taken. The side effects I didn't like were the intense itching all over and the drowsiness. It is something to definitely only take at night, but I was still drowsy the entire next day. I am not a light weight with medicine at all... but this one kicked my cough's butt. I wasn't told not to take my klonopin with it either, so my first dose I had already taken it, and the side effects were intensified. I couldn't sleep and had horrible nightmares. Definitely works... but be very careful with it."

For Cough "I only gave this med a 5 because I have mixed feelings about it. As a cough suppressant, it worked 'good' for me. Not great, but I'm able to sleep better with less coughing. The cough is better. But the side effects have been awful for me. (I'm over 70 years old, so I may react to medicines more readily). It makes me awfully drowsy and dizzy, so I won't drive. And after my morning dose today, I started feeling nauseous and vomited (I have a cast iron stomach and never vomit unless I get the stomach flu)."

Homatropine / hydrocodone for Cough "I had a case of acute bronchitis. Was given Tylenol #3 tabs, 1 every four hours as needed for cough. For whatever reason, it didn’t work. They then gave me Tessalon perles. They were totally ineffective. Finally, the ER nurse gave me what she said was 5 cc's of Hycodan. Never heard of it before. Within an hour, my coughing was much less troublesome. I was given a prescription for 120 ml of this cough medicine, and it worked very well. Aside from some sedation, I was able to eat and sleep. This medication is effective for me."
