Fexofenadine for Urticaria "I have chronic idiopathic urticaria, may have an autoimmune component. It started 4 months ago after multiple days of bites by oak mites and maybe a spider or two. I'm on 3 x 180 mg Allegra and 300 mg Zantac in the morning, plus 3 x 10 mg Zyrtec and 300 mg Zantac at night. Plus, miscellaneous Benadryl here and there. Hives went away for a few weeks, and now they are back. Can't afford Xolair. Not sure what's next. This is craziness. Might have to research 'Vitamin D deficiency in chronic idiopathic urticaria.'"

Fexofenadine for Urticaria "I have suffered from cold hives for about 10 years now, and till this day, I have not found a solution. Allegra does nothing for me. I take about two Allegra every time I step out of my house and still get hives all over my face and body. That's more than the recommended dosage for 180 mg. I still have hope that there's a cure somewhere out there."

Fexofenadine for Urticaria "I’m 54, have been suffering with chronic hives since I was 9 (1979). I’ve had tests done and biopsies done and nothing. Chemotherapy was supposed to knock it out and did for a while but came back. Benadryl did not help at all. I heard about Allegra and tried it. Within an hour, I felt so much better but had breakthrough hives. I also suffer from anaphylaxis shock. If they get on my lip, I assure you, it’s headed towards my throat. I got one on my lip after I had taken Allegra, but it quickly went away. So very thankful for this medication. I’m also required to carry an EpiPen in case of emergencies."

"I've been taking fexofenadine for 7 weeks, and it has really helped to stop the itching and vomiting caused by eating. The sneezing was gone, and my nasal congestion was not as bad. I have had a bad side reaction, though: hives and swelling on my head that has been itchy and uncomfortable. Stopped taking it for 4 days, and the hives and swelling disappeared, but of course all of the allergic reactions came back severely. Going to phone my hematologist tomorrow."

Fexofenadine for Allergic Rhinitis "I had my mother taking this for her allergies. It did nothing for her. After taking for almost 3 weeks, she broke out in hives. We stopped immediately. Went back to Claritin."
