Fexofenadine for Urticaria "I am 47 years old, and I have been suffering from urticaria since 2014. After lots of treatment, now I am taking Allegra 180 mg twice a day... but only when I take Allegra does my itching reduce (does not completely vanish), but when I don't take it, it again erupts. Is there no permanent treatment for it? How long can one take medicine?"

Fexofenadine for Urticaria "Had chronic urticaria 3 years ago, tried everything from Benadryl, Zyrtec, Claritin and nothing worked. Took Allegra 24 hour and 70% of my hives have disappeared, leaving me less itchy. Wish I would've found out about this site earlier to do my research. This is my first day on the medication, hopefully it will go away after this week."

Fexofenadine for Urticaria "I suffered from chronic itch all my life, tried almost every other antihistamine to the point I had to start with prednisone every 3 months for a week to get rid of the itch over my whole body, eyes running, nose. I would have such severe itch that I just could not function normally, got 4 hours or less sleep a day. I now use this medicine for 2 days now, after one hour I took the medicine, I felt my eyes not itching and my skin feels much better to the point it's livable. Now I hope this will keep working even after some time because all previous medication would only work a few days a week, tops, so if this will continue to work, I can finally start my life. I'm 22 years old, and I finally have new hope now. Thank you, fexofenadine!"

Fexofenadine for Urticaria "Been battling urticaria for 5 years and taking cetirizine, hydroxyzine, and Zantac. Constant itching. Don't know why. Never completely goes away unless I take prednisone, which I normally don't use, but I will take for about a week to get some relief from the constant itching. I try, not very successfully, to not scratch the itchy hives, which I hate with a passion. Because of the favorable remarks about Allegra, I'm going to use this medication. I've also been treated with light therapy, which has worked quite well in temporarily clearing up my skin."

Fexofenadine for Allergic Rhinitis "Day two... I have taken 2 gel caps, and it has not helped. Itchy roof of mouth. Unable to breathe through my nose, it is completely stopped up. Symptoms are worse than yesterday. Eyes are red, itchy, and teary. I cannot sleep. I do not recommend."

For Allergic Rhinitis "15 years of hay fever since pregnancy. I have tried everything with limited success. I am over the moon, literally! I have mild itching, but that’s it. I’ve sneezed 6 times this week as opposed to 60 a minute! I can breathe, I am happy, I love summer again, and I’m not a zombie! It works for me, and I hope it works for you because hay fever is far worse than many people think!"

For Urticaria "Had hives now for just about over a year, it is only caused by heat, nothing else. Never changed my diet. I’m fit and healthy and train 5 to 6 times a week at the gym. Obviously, the hives outbreaks are horrendous as it covers my whole body except my face. I've been taking fexofenadine 180 mg for almost 6 months, and no use at all. If anything, it makes it less itchy, but the rash is worse. I’m going to start taking two in the morning from now and see what happens."

Fexofenadine for Allergic Rhinitis "My 2-year-old had been suffering from indoor and outdoor allergies since she was 9 months old. We found Allegra suspension, and it works quite well along with her taking Singulair. If she misses a few doses, we can tell; her eyes itch and she gets congested. Just started to find the suspension in a larger bottle, so this keeps us from running out. Thanks!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "It works for me. I have a severe mold allergy, which I mostly keep in check with montelukast, Dymista, and Advair, but during the heavy raining period, I will get symptoms breakthrough, especially itchy eyes. This helps, but I need to take up to 2 pills of 180 mg twice a day for it to work all day. Tolerance does build up over time, so I cannot use it continuously."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I get 120 mg fexofenadine tablets on prescription and take one to one and a half per day as needed. I have very, VERY bad hay fever, this tablet is literally the only one I've ever tried that actually does anything. After taking 60 - 120 mg in the morning, by mid-morning I'm usually completely symptom-free. On especially pollen-heavy days, I'll take another 60 mg early to mid-afternoon. They work absolutely great, I can still smoke and go to the pub. I do keep a nasal spray and eye drops handy in case it gets really, really bad (e.g., if I go camping). The only side effect I've ever noticed is that I get itchy when I stop taking them after hay fever season, but this stops after a week or so."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Rubbish, even the brand name Telfast doesn't work, I'm bleeding from scratching my itchy skin and these don't work. GP is utterly irresponsible and clueless on allergy matters. It's either placebo or rubbish."

For Allergic Rhinitis "As a nurse on a busy unit, I cannot afford to be drowsy nor work effectively with intense ear and eye itchiness. At times, I would even get wheezy and have problems with my breathing. None of the meds worked, and they all made me extremely drowsy. My new family doctor recommended this med, saying, 'even fighter pilots can take this.' That was in the UK, but in Canada, the highest dosage one can get is 120 mg, that's my one complaint about the med."

"I have been using Fexo 180 for a few years for easing/treating bee stings. I am allergic to bees (systemic reaction of itchiness, redness, swelling all over) without restriction of the airways. Today I got stung on the throat, and taking directly 2 Fexo, followed by another on my way to the ED (30 minutes away), I managed to conquer the itchiness, facial swelling, and redness. I also applied a cold bottle on the sting. An hour later (at the hospital) I felt pretty normal again. Fexo keeps working for me!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "ENT prescribed generic for symptoms of unknown allergy causing dizziness and stuffy nose. The dizziness disappeared after 1 year of daily treatment. I used to use a cortisone nasal spray as well, but now only use saline nose spray for my nose stuffiness. It's so much better now, so I only take 1 in the am and 1 in the PM. It's also helped my major allergy to mosquito bites. I recently got a bee (not wasp or yellow jacket) sting and upped it back to 4 a day, and it did help me tolerate the itching and swelling. After 9 days, I developed cellulitis because of the sting, and the medication does nothing for that terrible itching. Only constant ice packs and major antibiotics are curing that."
