For Birth Control "I found out about the bar last year in October. I was on the pill. I went on the bar because it was an easier option, not needing to remember to take a pill every morning. The first 2 weeks of the bar were great!! I started losing weight just like that. After that two weeks, I began a period that took forever to go away-around 1 month. I started getting headaches and very emotional. But other than that, it’s fine! The great thing about it was I lost 7 kgs and got to eat whatever I wanted and still didn't gain weight."

For Birth Control "At first, I loved Implanon. I thought it would be perfect, I wouldn't have to worry about a pill. Well, I quickly discovered I was wrong! When I got the Implanon inserted, I was still bleeding from having my son. Well, I never stopped. I haven't had a real period since before I got pregnant, and that was in May of 2011. I just got this removed about a week and a half ago. The 6 months I was on it, I only stopped bleeding for about a week, at the most. So even though I'm terrified at the thought of having another child right now, I couldn't handle the constant bleeding, cramping, headaches, etc. Now I have finally stopped bleeding after a solid 2 and a half months. I personally do NOT recommend Implanon!"

For Birth Control "I've had the Implanon for one year, and I'm getting it taken out next week, can't wait! It is really great for birth control, was free to get, and I didn't get a period for the whole year... but the side effects are not worth it! I have gained 15 kgs! (I always used to be skinny.) I get headaches and body pains almost every day. Oh, and the mood... I get anxiety and depression so badly this past year. I went from a fit, skinny, happy, normal 22-year-old... and now I am chubby, miserable, and sore every day. Do not get this."

For Birth Control "I had Implanon for 11 months. I loved it at first! After 5 months of no period, I was beginning to worry. Then, as I started to get headaches and mood swings, I worried more! I called my doctor, only to find she thought it was 'normal.' My 6th month, I went into depression, and instead of making me gain weight, I had been gradually losing it. I lost a total of 19.6 pounds, which placed me underweight. I couldn't gain weight no matter how hard I tried. When the 10th month rolled around, I finally started my period...only to find it wouldn't stop! At the beginning of the 11th month, I had it removed. I am not rating this. I am only sharing my experience, which may vary for everyone...as you can see. It may work for some, but beware of side effects!"

For Birth Control "Got mine inserted on December 31, 08. Have had problems since. I have a headache every other day. I will spot for four days, then a period for 20 days. This has been going on since I got it. The only good thing about it is I don't have to worry about taking the pill. I cry for no reason, and mood swings are crazy. I barely have a sex drive. I cannot take the bleeding, headache, and mood swings."

For Birth Control "I thought having birth control was a good move considering I already have a son and I'm in college and go to school, but now I wish I would have gotten this thing removed a while ago. I used to experience nausea and back pain. Now I just have headaches, dizziness, extremely long menstrual cycles, the cycle has lasted almost a whole 3 years. No sex drive, mood swings/depression, hair loss, and I get so tired that I feel like I've been run over, and acne. All of which are side effects, and I feel so alone with it. I will never try to force my body to accept something it doesn't like again. This has damaged my relationship with my man in more ways than one."

For Birth Control "I had the Implanon in for the whole 3 years. I gained around 50 lbs. I had no energy to do anything. I had terrible mood swings, I would cry and feel down so much of the time. I didn't get a period the whole time I was on it. I had light spotting maybe twice a year for a few days randomly. I got really bad headaches as well. And I ended up with ovarian cysts as well. I did not have a good experience at all."

For Birth Control "I just received this birth control a while ago. I didn't even get my period, which was due in a couple of days after. The only bad thing is that my back cramps and headaches have gotten worse, but it may just be my PMS. I am not experiencing any of the other side effects yet. The insertion was only a little painful, but even the weakest of heart could handle it. I would recommend this for anyone who does not want anybody to find out that they are on birth control, and it is a sure thing that you will never miss a pill or a shot."

For Birth Control "I had the Implanon put in 6 months after I gave birth. It was amazing for the first 2 and a half years. Months before the Implanon expired, I had to get it removed since I started getting my period nonstop. It lasted about 2-3 months and that is when I decided to get it removed. My emotions were everywhere! I would go from sad to angry and then happy. I would get horrible headaches and cramps, not to mention nausea and lightheadedness. After getting it removed, I decided to get a new one in, but it hasn't worked so far. I got my new one in October and it is January, and I have still been bleeding EVERY DAY! I had enough and called to have this removed. There are too many side effects. I do not recommend it!"

For Birth Control "I honestly have not had too many problems with this. I have had it for almost 5 months now, and at first, I did get migraines and gained about 20 lbs, but after about 2 months, the headaches went away, and I am just now getting my period for the first time since starting this birth control. It is lasting over 2 weeks, though. So I guess the most helpful thing I can say is a majority of the side effects will be temporary and are usually just your body adjusting, and that it is a very effective form of birth control! Don't let certain reviews scare you because everyone has a different experience!"

For Birth Control "I've been on a number of birth controls for the past 10 years, and this is by far the best. Not perfect, but the best yet. I have 4 kids, my last 2 were both birth control babies! I decided to try this. Insertion wasn't what I expected, I was nervous for nothing! I bled for the first month, but after that, I had very light periods, and now I have none at all. I get cramps as if I am about to, but either don't or just get very small spotting. No issues so far and no pregnancies. No weight gain, no nausea, no headaches, and no other side effects. Highly recommended for at least a try!"

For Birth Control "I have had Implanon since March of 2010. I experienced a lot of pain in the first few weeks, as well as constant bleeding. I get my period for 3 weeks straight, it seems, and I have a week to a week and a half break. I kept telling myself that I would give it time; however, with all of this 'time', as it is now October, I am ready to relieve myself of Implanon. Yes, it is convenient that I do not have to take a pill or receive a shot; however, it is not worth the constant bleeding, and pains, and headaches. Everyone is different, but I have decided Implanon is not for me."

For Birth Control "Please find more information about this birth control before agreeing to get it like I did. It is not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. A friend of mine had it, and she had no side effects and a bonus of no period. It sounded perfect, but for me, the side effects are not worth it. My period lasts three months at a time with cramps, headaches, and is harder to lose weight. Also, if someone does get pregnant with it, the baby will be developing in the wrong place and die. Since everyone's body reacts differently, there is no telling how it will be for you until you get it, so do not get it. That's my opinion. The pill worked better for me."

For Birth Control "So I got my implant about three months ago, and it's been good for unprotected sex, but I’ve definitely gained at least 15 pounds on it. I hate that part, but otherwise, it's been way easier than having to remember taking the pill. I haven’t experienced any of the other symptoms, but maybe headaches, which I used to never get. And then I feel nauseous every now and then. Just thought I’d pass this along. I’m going to ask my doctor about the weight gain."

For Birth Control "I got Implanon in 2010 when I was 19. The first three years were fine. When I got it replaced 09/2013, the problems started. I didn't bleed the first month, but from October until this moment, I haven't stopped! The headaches are bad too, lasting days at a time (I've learned to ignore them), but I know this is because my blood pressure is NEVER under 160. Other than that, everything is fine. I didn't gain weight, but lost some when I got off the pill. Most importantly, I'm not pregnant yet! I love it, but it's to each their own."

For Birth Control "This birth control is so good when it comes to not getting pregnant. The side effects, on the other hand, have been horrible for me. One month I've had a period that was so heavy and painful it felt like labor and lasted for 8 days. And I've been getting headaches nonstop ever since I got it in. Not just regular headaches, but migraine-like ones. And I've had some days when I felt dizzy and nauseous. So if you're willing to deal with the horrible side effects, then yes, I'd recommend it. But side effects for every woman are different."

For Birth Control "So I got my first implant after an emergency C-section (Sept 2014). I was breastfeeding, so I didn't notice anything off and still lost all my baby weight. Year 3, however, I gained 10 pounds while very active and eating well. I got it replaced (which it was stuck, so I now have permanent nerve damage), and with the new one, I have nausea, dizziness, anger, headaches, pelvic pain, and hot flashes. Every time I step on the scale, the number has gone up. I'm getting it out in 9 days. I'm done with this thing. I would rather have a period instead of 2 days of spotting dark brown goo."

For Birth Control "My first was fine, no problems at all. My second implant, well, day-to-day headaches, feeling low, and put on 2 stone in 9 months. No energy, bleeding every 2 weeks was not what I wanted. I'd rather have my tubes tied. Please be aware, not all implants are the same. You may have a good 3 years, but the next one could be horrible."

For Birth Control "I got Implanon about 4 months ago and have not been off my period/spotting since. That alone is very frustrating, but I try to work around it when it comes to my sex life. I have not gotten pregnant, so it is doing its job, but along with the spotting. I also get frequent headaches."

For Birth Control "I am 23, and I have two children. I received the Implanon after the birth of my daughter. After reading some of these reviews, I am relieved to see I am not the only one with some of these problems. My period comes on for about 6-7 days, stops for about 1 or 2, and then starts spotting again. It seems like it lasts forever. Then the next month, it comes about the same time. My period has to be on half of the month or more. I can't stand it!!! (When I was on Depo, I had no period). I have also noticed headaches very often, lack of sex drive, and lower back pain. I also have lost none of my baby weight, which I had lost after my son. I have had it for about a year, almost 2, so I have about a year to go. I want it out."

For Birth Control "The worst BC ever. Yes, it's effective, but since I've had enough of it. I've had headaches, body aches, and serious weight gain. Was always 160, now I'm 217, finally getting it taken out after research and reading other reviews. Also, cramping in between periods. Spotting and heavy periods! Worst BC ever."

For Birth Control "After insertion, the site where it was inserted had a dull pain that still lingers today. A couple of months in, I threw my tablet at my mother in a blind rage. When nothing was wrong in my life, I felt a constant irritation with the people around me. I would have times where I would be nauseous for a week and a half at a time, accompanied by smell sensitivity. I have lost weight but have been bloated, with constant headaches. :("

For Birth Control "I think this has to be the best birth control out of all I have tried (shot, pills, etc.). The first time I got it, I had mood swings, headaches, and the last three months before it needed to get removed, I had the heaviest period I have ever had. Then I took a small break from it and got the shot (instantly gained almost 10 pounds), so back to it I went. This time I feel great about it. No weight gain, mood swings, or headaches. When you put something in your body that stops a process your body was made to do, of course you're gonna have side effects. Besides the insertion and removal, everything about this contraception is worth it."

For Birth Control "I got the Implanon about 4 years ago, and at first I thought it was great. The pill was giving me serious migraines, so that's why I made the switch. For those four years, I had the most irregular periods (some lasting months at a time, and then not having one at all for 3 months). I kept thinking it would get better, but it didn't. Weight gain was another noticeable problem. Gained 40 lbs. I didn't blame the Implanon until I started doing research and noticed that was a top complaint amongst women who used it. Mind you, I tried to lose weight by dieting and exercise, and I kept gaining. So I made an appointment to get it taken out. Back on a low-dose pill and feel SO much better. No headaches and down 6 lbs in a little over a month!"
