For Birth Control "I started TriNessa because I had horrible cramps to the point where I would lay on the bathroom floor for days, and my doctor said that it would fix this. Although it lessened this symptom somewhat, I have had insane mood swings, depression, and nausea. Crying for no reason with depressing thoughts for 10-14 days is not worth a little less stomach pain every month. I'm going to try to switch brands soon."

For Acne "I was on the mini pill for about a year and really didn't mind it at all. However, I was weaning my baby and had some breaking out, so wanting to try the regular pill instead as recommended by my doctor. One month in and so far it is TERRIBLE. I get terrible cramps now, nausea all day, headaches, and my emotions are out of whack! I already have slight depression and anxiety, this pill made it SO much worse. My acne is the worst it's been since I first had my daughter, especially around my jawline. I am going to give it two more packs and then switch to something else."

For Birth Control "I started taking TriNessa in November, and this is by far the worst pill ever. During the first and second month of taking this pill, I was super nauseous, and I experienced terrible ovulation pain if I did not take my pill at the exact time every day. Currently, I have horrible mood swings, depression, and my skin is breaking out like crazy. The only thing this pill didn't do was gain weight. Going to my doctor next week to change my BC plan."

For Birth Control "I took Trinessa for 6 months before I realized it was my birth control that was making me severely ill every day. From about August to February, I was overcome by nausea and vomiting. I ended up in and out of the hospital numerous times and ultimately lost 60 pounds from vomiting. Trinessa is effective in preventing pregnancy, but not worth the side effects."

For Birth Control "I've been on TriNessa for three years now. I love it. I do have mild nausea at the beginning of the cycle if I don't eat much, but other than that, it works pretty well. Overall, I really like it. I had problems with weight gain before I started taking it, and it has caused me to lose weight, and if I don't eat enough, I will just keep losing a ton of weight. I don't get headaches from it and no abnormal bleeding. The only thing I might have to say negative is that I get pretty moody sometimes. I used to be happy-go-lucky before I took this, and now I'm more emotional. Maybe it's just me getting older. I've been on it so long I can't really tell!"

For Birth Control "I liked Ortho Tri-Cyclen better, but Tri-Sprintec way worse! I experienced heavier and longer periods while on it and mood swings sometimes (could just be the norm for a 25-year-old female though!). I switched to Tri-Sprintec and experienced extreme nausea, although the pharmacist insisted it was the exact same medications, just different manufacturers. I will be going back on TriNessa next month."

For Birth Control "I'm just trying TriNessa for the first time, and I absolutely hate it. Every day, there's a point where I'm very nauseated. I feel depressed and just so sick. Yeah, it shortened my period by 2 days, but I just hate feeling like this every day. It may work well for others, just my experience."

For Birth Control "I've been on Trinessa for a few months now. I've had a positive experience, period is on time, acne is going away, no spotting, no weight gain. Slight nausea at the start of taking this pill, but it went away quickly. Also prevents pregnancy! I would recommend this for a no- to little-cost generic of Ortho Tri Cyclen."

For Birth Control "I just started taking TriNessa. So far, I have horrible nausea and terrible migraines. I am getting signs of depression, and I am restless all night. It's hard for me to eat or ride in a car because of nausea. I am constantly dehydrated all day, and I have the worst case of dry mouth. I hope that all of this will go away after a few months, so I'll continue to take the pill. The only positive so far is that my acne is going away."

For Acne "This is my third month into TriNessa. I can't say I hate it, and definitely can't say I love it. During my first 2 weeks, I experienced very awful breast tenderness (making roller coasters at the time not a pleasant experience), and some nausea and major headaches. My first period on this was a little hellish, but my periods before the pill were 8 long, heavy days. I was put on this pill for my acne. Before the pill, I always got acne before and after my period on my forehead (cystic), and when I started this pill, I started only getting whiteheads (which is doable). It's the week after my period, and for 3 long weeks, I've had awful cystic acne on my chin and forehead. I am planning to give the pill at least 3 more months."

For Birth Control "This works wonders with my acne, but it makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Nausea and vomiting the first couple of months, but only on occasion. Abnormal bleeding began and continued for almost three months, discontinued, and started taking it again, and now I have bled for a month..."

For Birth Control "I've been on TriNessa for a year now. I went to the doctor because I had horrible cramps. The pain from the cramps made me vomit and have diarrhea. In the first 2 months or so of starting TriNessa, I had spotting. After this, it was gone. My period came every 31 days or so (which was how it was before birth control) for 6 months. After being on TriNessa for six months, my period regulated to exactly every 28 days. TriNessa has definitely made my period cramps lighter, which is great. I just take two Aleve before and during my period, and I feel better. I have not gained any weight from it. But I have noticed my sex drive is way lower. If you take two pills at once because you missed one, be careful! You may get nausea."

For Birth Control "I have been using TriNessa for 2 years now, since my daughter was born. This is my first birth control, and I am using this one because the name brand one my doctor recommended isn't covered by my insurance. At first, I thought everything was fine and that my life was just adjusting to being a new mom, but I feel like the birth control contributes to my feelings of depression, like I just can't shake it. I don't feel like myself and am having a hard time feeling happy. I have horrible mood swings, and it is putting a strain on my relationship with my husband, my libido is down the drain. While I haven't gained weight, it's been difficult to lose it, which wasn't such a challenge prior to the baby. I am very sensitive to smells, some things, like air fresheners, make me want to vomit. I get occasional nausea, but it's random. The plus side is that my seasonal allergies seem to be gone, and I have successfully not become pregnant."

For Birth Control "The first few days of taking this, I experienced slight nausea, some cramps, and breast tenderness. Now, the nausea I’m experiencing is off the roof. I’m disgusted by foods, and yet I have to constantly eat to make my nausea subside a little. I’m going to switch to a different brand."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for over a month and love the results so far! At first, I had a lot of symptoms: headaches, nausea, etc., but it went away after a few days. It's effective and not too expensive."

For Birth Control "This is my fourth month on this pill. I’m 25 and have never been on any kind of birth control before. I would wake up nauseous a few mornings out of the week, sometimes I would vomit because of it. I cannot even explain how drastic my sleeping and food schedule has changed. I’m constantly hungry and have gotten bratty for no reason whatsoever. It hasn’t really affected my sex drive, but I either can’t get wet right away or I’m too wet. My periods have almost stopped, except for the first period I got when I started taking the pill, which lasted about 11 days. Yes, 11 days. It was insane. This medication works, but it comes with a price for me. I’ve had stomach problems in the past few months, but it’s increased so much."

For Birth Control "This pill has been better than the last two brands I tried. I was on Tri-Sprintec for about a year, which I don't know why I put up with it that long. I wanted to throw up all the time! Second, I was on Tri-Previfem, which is also supposed to be the same pill, that one was even worse. It left a terrible taste in my mouth and made me gain weight, had even worse nausea, and worst of all, I acted like a monster! I was so irritated with everything. My doctor decided to have me try TriNessa, which all three of these pills are the same as Ortho Tri-Cyclen. This time, though, it actually worked. I feel back to myself again. I have been on it for about a year. I have had a little weight gain and sometimes slight headaches. But overall, I like it."

For Birth Control "I was so emotional and constantly nauseous. I took it at night so the nausea would always keep me up. My hair started falling out as well. It wasn't a little bit, I'd run my hands through my hair, and then a lot of strands would come out. It might be good for others, but for me, it wasn't at all."

For Birth Control "This worked really well to regulate my periods for about a year and a half, but recently it has seemed to stop working. My periods are back to being as irregular as they were before I took the pill. It also made the nausea I get during my periods much worse. I am currently only taking it for clearing my acne (be warned, my acne came back only a week after being off of it and was much worse than before) and till my prescription ends."

For Birth Control "I'm 20, and this is my first birth control. I got it to control my acne and to prevent pregnancy. The very first day I took it, I felt horribly nauseous, but thankfully it went away and hasn't come back since. My complaint is the cramping! I basically cramp every day or every other day. The pain is on the outside 'lady bit' region too. So far, this is the only side effect for me. My sex drive is the same, still waiting for acne control, and I haven't experienced increased discharge. I'm on my first month and have only been on it for two weeks. So hopefully, the cramps stop and my acne calms down."

For Acne "I got it prescribed when I was 16 for my very hormonal acne (effective birth control was a nice bonus too, though). After about 2.5 months, my blotchy mess had become crystal-clear-as-ice skin. I was for 4 years, mostly very clear. Then I thought the problem was probably 'fixed,' and I went off it when I was 20. I thought it was giving me headaches too. Quitting was a nightmare. I had a 17-day period. Then it evened out to every 2 weeks. I started to break out like a volcanic range. I gained weight. I let this go on for 3 years, thinking it would stop. I finally decided I'd get back on it a month ago. My skin is so bad on the sides I wear '60s headscarves to hide it, but it's clearing up in other ways. So far, no headaches. Just nausea."

For Birth Control "My insurance changed my prescription from OTC Lo to TriNessa. TriNessa is effective in the sense that it has prevented unwanted pregnancy; however, for the last four months I have been on this medication, I have been feeling bloated and nauseous every single day. For the first two months, I would take pregnancy tests because I thought I was pregnant. I have changed the time I take this medicine from early morning to taking it at night before bed; I make sure I don't take it on an empty stomach. Nothing I have done seems to alleviate this problem. This has not helped the situation in the bedroom. I have changed this medication back to OTC Lo and just paid the high copayments monthly."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for maybe two years. I've changed birth control multiple times because I wanted to try something that would give me fewer periods. When my doctor and I discovered fewer periods a year weren't working for my body, she put me on TriNessa. From the start, I have had nausea so bad it wakes me up in the middle of the night for the first few pills of the pack. I have been getting infections such as BV and UTIs. I have never had any of those infections or any problems with my vag before starting this birth control. Periods are still heavy, cramps are really bad. My sex drive is just gone. My boyfriend thinks I find him unattractive or that I'm with someone else and cheating on him. Only good thing: no babies."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control. Each time I was going to try something new (Trinessa, Nuvaring, and now Ocella), I was really nervous because of the reviews. But if it helps, I did pretty well with Trinessa. No bad side effects except for when I would miss one and double up, it inevitably meant throwing up without notice, and that's why I switched to Nuvaring. But obviously, I shouldn't have been missing pills to begin with. I'm on Ocella now, and I've never missed one, so I don't know if it's that I'm sensitive to nausea with doubling up, or if it was the Trinessa."

For Birth Control "I switched to Trinessa 28's last week of April, and I am very content! After the birth of my child in December, I tried the shot and it was the worst ever... I lost tons of hair and constantly bled almost the whole 3 months, mood swings, and the list goes on... Well, the first week of Trinessa I did get some headaches and a bit of nausea, but nothing I couldn't tolerate. I do take them at night before bed, which in my opinion is the best time! Within the first month, my mood swings were gone, I noticed hair growth and a reduction in hair loss. The first period was only 4 days and not too heavy, but maybe the 2nd day only. For me, Trinessa is wonderful and has worked wonders! And also no copay covered at 100% with my insurance!"
