For Birth Control "I've been taking Trinessa Low for over a year now. I'm 19, started at 18. It is terrible for about the first 2 months. Bloating, nauseous, breast growth, drained sex drive from 8/10 to a 1/10. However, it is very effective and forgiving. The symptoms don't go away fully but do mild down after the two months. Still have about no sex drive."

For Birth Control "Well, I haven't gotten pregnant, so I guess it's probably doing what it should. But since being on the drug, I have restless nights where I wake up constantly feeling nauseous. Sometimes it'll be at 4 AM, and then I just can't get back to sleep after it. As for my acne, it seemed to clear up a bit at first, but right around the time my period is starting, it gets horrible again. I don't like it at all."

For Birth Control "I am 21 years old. I started TriNessa when I was 18 for birth control. The pill was wonderful, and I stayed on it for about 8 months or so. I stopped the pill for six months, but because my periods became irregular, I started the pill again. This time I've been on it the longest, probably a year and a half or 2. I think the last 6 months or so have been hell. I experienced cramping, bloating, and nausea starting in week 2 of the pill pack. Close to week 3, I had a series of migraines. The headaches were too much for me. I stopped the pills and am now on Loestrin 24 Fe. I just started week two, so I don't know how well these work. Overall, TriNessa is an effective pill. I think my body just got tired of it. I hope my review helps!"

For Birth Control "I love this pill! The only problem I had with it was during the first month. I had been struggling with panic attacks for about 9 months before starting TriNessa, but they became a lot worse during the first month of taking it. After the first month, however, I was fine with no more emotional problems (except those I had normally). I also have bouts of nausea sometimes around my period, but nothing I can't handle. No pregnancy scares, no weight gain, and no acne. I take it religiously at the same time every day without fail (alarm on my phone really helped). First time I've taken birth control, and it's been a good experience. I'm 19, for reference."

For Birth Control "I went on TriNessa about a year ago for multiple reasons, such as acne, heavy periods, and just being sexually active. I went to my regular physician, and she prescribed me TriNessa. After about 3 weeks on this pill, I started noticing changes. I was gaining weight, which was strange for me as I stay around the same weight all the time. I was breaking out worse than before, and it didn’t show any signs of lightening up. My emotions were extremely hormonal, I could be laughing one second and crying the next. Not to mention, I felt as if I was going to throw up every morning. I thought maybe this was my body getting used to the hormones, so I decided to give it more time. About two months in, all of the symptoms were only getting worse. I had enough and got off of the pill. Within days, my mood was back to normal and I was no longer nauseous. But my skin has never been the same, I break out worse than before now, and I have hyperpigmentation, which I never had before. Absolutely do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I have been on Trinessa for a little over a year, and since I am not pregnant, I would say it's doing its job. The cramps that I used to have sent me home sick, and my period lasted 15 days once! However, when I first started on the pill, I would get this strange, really subtle nausea. Its subtleness almost made me feel worse, but that went away."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on TriNessa for 5 months and experienced moodiness and depression for the first month of taking it. The second and third months I got vaginitis, nausea was always present, and in the fourth and fifth months, a horrible face rash with hives. I'm switching and going on Nexplanon and hoping that that works more to my liking. Not worth the face rash, though, and having to wear foundation is annoying, but hey, I didn't get pregnant."

For Birth Control "I took Lessina birth control, but my acne got very bad, and my doctor put me on TriNessa. My acne started clearing away immediately when I started. I get terrible mood swings and nausea. The nausea would hit me in the morning and last anywhere from a few minutes to hours. Sometimes the nausea is so bad I have to leave work. I've been diagnosed with moderate depression/anxiety since starting this medication. Overall, this birth control is okay. My periods are light and last anywhere from 4 to 6 days. Cramping is mild/moderate. I haven’t gained any weight being on this birth control, and my skin looks great. After getting prescribed sertraline, I feel like it’s helped my mood swings/depression a lot."

For Birth Control "Not good at all. I just started my 3-pack, and I'm taking myself off of it. The experience has been horrible. I've had unbelievable mood swings since the start. Major breast tenderness, my PMS starts about 2 weeks early. Lots of chin acne. Nausea every single night. Slight weight gain. But my worst side effect is my hair started falling out. Literally in clumps. I have very, very thick hair, and it's noticeably thinner. My mother noticed just by looking at my hairline, and my hairdresser also confirmed it was significantly thinner. Unfortunately, I have to be on a birth control, otherwise, I have too many issues without it. However, I've taken myself off of this and thrown away my last pack. I know pills work differently for everyone, but I would not recommend."

For Acne "I went back on birth control hoping to alleviate some of my acne (I'm 26), and the first month of being on Trinessa was terrible – headaches, nausea, heartburn – and now that I'm nearing the end of the second month, I'm experiencing weight gain all over – I can't fit into my bras, my waist is thicker, etc., and the acne is still present, although slightly better. I'm calling my doctor to see about switching brands."

For Birth Control "Okay, so, I've been taking this birth control for five years now. It does its job at preventing pregnancy. Been with my boyfriend for three years, never used a condom, never pregnant. That's basically the only good thing about it. My acne has been terrible the entire time I've used this birth control. My mood swings are insane, cramping makes me nauseous, and I would bleed for five to seven days. I'm diagnosed with depression, and I noticed the week before my period I would get insanely depressed. I'm guessing it was this birth control, considering it happened every month during the last week of pills. Switching over to Yasmin to see how that works."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control for 8 months before I realized that it was causing my panic attacks and paranoia. I lost my appetite and felt nauseous all the time. At first, I thought maybe I’m going through postpartum depression. Just had 2nd baby. But overall, I was really happy with life and had no complaints. I went to the doctor several times to try to figure out why I was feeling this way. I felt like a zombie. I finally thought to look up side effects of the birth control, and to my surprise and relief, all the negative reviews said the same thing. I have been off the pill for 5 months now, and I feel great! It took about 2 weeks before I felt like myself again. I used to take Tri-Cyclen Lo before my kids, and that worked really well for me."

For Birth Control "Horrible. Immediately after the first pill, I became nauseated. Nausea stayed for a while, 2 months. Horrible pains at the bottom of my stomach from this pill. As soon as I stopped taking it, the nausea went away and the stomach pains. I will not ever use this again. Never, ever!!"

For Birth Control "I started this pill when I was 18, and I experienced extreme nausea the first two weeks (as is expected when you've never taken another BCP before). After that, I loved this pill for the most part. I never got pregnant; I never had any noticeable side effects. My periods were consistent and were lighter than before taking any pills. However, the downside was that my period was still too heavy for my liking, which I didn't really notice until I started my clinical rotations for nursing school."

For Birth Control "I'm 36 years old. I used TriNessa Lo for 3 months for the purpose of birth control. I recently decided to stop taking it because I had so many side effects from it. The worst side effect that I experienced was daily nausea. It was as if I was feeling morning sickness all day long the entire time I was on the pill. The only time I had relief was when I was having my period. I could barely tolerate foods and drinks that I normally consume. I also experienced hypersensitivity to smell... certain smells (like air fresheners) made me feel sick. I also experienced occasional headaches and broke out with more acne than I have had in years. I also found that I felt significantly more depressed near the end of my cycle before my period started."

For Birth Control "Positives: I'm not pregnant, and it really has cleared up my acne. My periods are shorter, not necessarily lighter. Negatives: I've been taking TriNessa for about a year, and my periods still do not come at the same time every month. I will be the first to admit I do not take it at the EXACT time every day, but definitely within a window of a few hours. Before my period, I notice that I get very dizzy and lightheaded, which never happened to me before. It has also made me VERY emotional- I'm a pretty sensitive person, but it was never this bad. Finally, I have noticed that the pill reduces my appetite, however, if I do not constantly have a small amount of food in my stomach, I feel nauseous (I never vomit), it goes away once I eat."

"I have been on TriNessa for about 4-5 months. For me, the worst things about it are constant breast tenderness (except for the week of my period) and acne right before my period. However, lately, the tenderness has significantly decreased, and the acne can be controlled as long as I take proper care of my skin. I also get pretty bad cramps, but it's only for the very first day of my period, and it's nothing Midol can't take care of. Everything else I have to say about TriNessa is positive. My periods are regular, I don't experience spotting if I miss pills, my mood is stable, I have no nausea, I'm not pregnant, and my sex drive has increased dramatically. All in all, an excellent pill."

For Birth Control "I got on TriNessa after giving birth to my son, and I've only been on it for almost a month, but I took one pill about four hours late, and that same day I started my period, and it's been on for 11 days non-stop. And the nausea and throwing up are aggravating itself. I'm not going to wait for more side effects. I think I need to get off now."

For Birth Control "This is the first pack for TriNessa. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Orange since my 6-week appointment after I had my 3rd baby (so about July is when my appointment was), and my insurance just now made me switch to TriNessa. I don't think I like it. Since taking it, I have constantly felt like I have a lump in my throat and my diaphragm area and decreased my appetite, so I'd put that in the nausea category. I just don't know if I should just wait it out, or call my OB office and ask them for something different or what. I mean, I'm only going to be on this till like Dec. or Jan., because my fiancé and I would like one more, and wanted to wait till our baby is at least 18 months before we try again. Then after that baby is born, I'm going on the Depo."

For Birth Control "This is my first time taking this birth control. I was on Depo years back. I didn't like Depo because I'd bleed for almost 2 months until my next shot. Smh. I haven't had any nausea or mood swings? I can't tell because I have those anyways. The only thing I don't like is my cycle seems long. Smh. It's not heavy, it's light enough for a panty liner. That's the only thing I don't like."

For Birth Control "Overall, it does what I need it to do. Prevents pregnancy! Although the mood swings I get from this birth control have pretty much ruined my relationship. I constantly get headaches, anxiety, nervousness, nausea, emotional as heck, and did I mention the mood swings!? That's the worst thing about it. One day I'm happy as can be, the next I'd rather be a mess on a half. I was on the IUD for 5 years and I never had these side effects. Although when it came time to come out, it grew into me and that was a mess. Then I turned to these pills for the past year, it's been horrible except that I haven't had an unwanted pregnancy. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't! I have one more month to go. Suggestions?"

For Ovarian Cysts "I've been on 3 different BC. The first was Loestrin 24 FE, which in the beginning worked great for treating cramps and irregular bleeding. After a few months, the pill went from treating everything to treating nothing. I was bleeding or spotting for 3 weeks out of the month. My doctor changed my prescription to Microgestin. I stayed on this pill for 5 years with little to no problems until the last few months, where this pill caused me horrible cramps and 2 ovarian cysts. I had a lot of issues with mood swings on Microgestin, so I looked for a lower hormone option. My GYN really wanted me to try an IUD, but I was way too scared after hearing horror stories from family and friends. I have been on Trinessa for a little over a month, and I'm very pleased so far. Besides some nausea in the first week of starting the pack, I've had little to no issues. My period started on time with almost no cramps. I get hungry more often, but have found taking this pill at night helps that."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about a year now. Until recently, everything is coming together to only prove how bad this birth control is for me. I have horrible mood swings, nausea, depression, tired more, slight weight gain, thinning of my hair (used to have nice thick hair, and now it is thin), and if I miss a day and take two together, I get really sick. I can only say that I have not gotten pregnant, and I have decent periods. All I know is that I need to change quick. Some birth controls work better for others, but please listen to your body and watch for any changes, etc."

For Birth Control "I had started this pill back in April after having my second endometriosis attack that landed me in the hospital. I had tried other birth control pills prior to this one, and they did not work either when it came to my endometriosis. I stopped taking this pill one month ago because it began to make me feel nauseous throughout the day, and I began to feel emotional from it as well. I have to say that it did shorten and lighten my periods, though. I am very depressed that it did not work for me. I have been battling these issues for many years, and nothing has been 100% effective yet. If you have bad endometriosis, don't use this pill! I hope to find a birth control that stops my periods and treats my endometriosis soon."

For Birth Control "I have irregular menstrual cycles. I've started taking Trinessa to help regulate my cycle. I am only on my 2nd week, but I don't like the side effects. I am nauseous all day, and it affects my mood shortly after taking it. I go from happy and productive to moody and sluggish. I also have headaches, muscle, and breast soreness. I have not stopped bleeding either. I have been spotting the entire time, and as I go along, it seems to get heavier. I was not expecting for it to start working to stop my elongated period immediately, but the all-day nausea and mood change is the worst. I will try to complete the month, but I am not sure if this is the option for me."
