For Birth Control "This birth control did its job, that was the only good thing about it, though. It gave me extreme nausea to the point where I didn't even want to see or smell food. It gave me terrible migraines a few hours after I took it every single day. It made my mouth dry, and I couldn't self-lubricate, which was a bit annoying. I used to be very into sex, but once I was on it for a few weeks, my sex drive completely went away. My acne cleared up, which was an extreme plus. I'd get 1-3 zits whenever I had my period. My period was always regular before I went on it, then once I took the pills, I always got my period at the end of the pill cycle. It was an okay birth control, but I probably just reacted badly to it."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about a year. Everything started out great until about 6 months in. I missed about three pills one month, and it caused severe nausea. The nausea wouldn't stop even after months of taking my pills regularly. My doctor had to prescribe me anti-nausea medication just so I could make it through the day. I also experienced slight weight gain, but nothing major. On a positive note, it did regulate my periods and enlarged my breasts."

For Birth Control "I had to give this medication a 10 because, ultimately, it is extremely effective in the prevention of pregnancy. I started taking this pill when I was 17, and I'm now 21. As a teenager, it was great. No acne and predictable periods. But I gained a LOT of weight (I was usually 109-115, and now I'm 135-140), mostly in my thighs and lower abdomen that would not go away. I also completely lost my libido. It was devastating. I have terrible mood swings and am usually completely incapacitated every first day of my period. I also started to have quite a bit of spotting for the last year and a half. I'm always nauseous, dizzy, tired, achy, and depressed. It also increased my migraines and made them much worse. I do not recommend this."

For Acne "I have been taking Trinessa on and off for 4 years. If you have severe acne, this will be the best thing for you. While taking Trinessa, I have clear, beautiful skin, however, it does come with extreme nausea, and I cry a lot the week before my period. But switching made me go from a makeup-free and blemish-free face to severe acne all over my face in a matter of a month."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Trinessa since I stopped breastfeeding my little one about 9 months ago. My periods have been heavier and longer, and I’ve had stronger cramping than I did with my previous birth control. I’ve gained about 15 lbs since I started this medicine. I’m hungry all the time! And I get nauseous fairly regularly. Also, I’ve been very depressed. I’ve always had a tendency to struggle with anxiety and depression, so I wrote it off to that, or maybe even postpartum, but I took some time off of this birth control and have come to realize that it may have been a big cause of my unhappiness lately. Going hand in hand with my depression, I’ve had no libido on this pill. Overall, the pill has done its main job because I’m not pregnant, but after the research I’ve done, the negative side effects are going to cause me to change birth control."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this for 3 months now. Cons: I have always worked out 5-6 days a week and still have gained about 8-10 lbs since starting this pill. Has caused bloating, loss of sex drive, and quite often nausea. Pros: Skin looks a little better, periods are regulated, and cramps are exceedingly less. But to be honest, many of those weren't really much of an issue before, the only one was the cramps, and that I just had to make sure to have some Advil or something on hand. So... in the end, not a huge fan of this."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for 4 months, and it has been awful. During the 1st week, I vomited and experienced severe nausea. Although the vomiting subsided, I continued to experience nausea through the 2nd week. By the 2nd month, I noticed an increase in weight (5-10 lbs), larger breasts, mood swings, and nausea returned on and off for the 1st week. By the 3rd month, I was an emotional wreck and experienced the same pattern with nausea. I was filled with rage, exhausted 24/7, and had trouble concentrating. I had PMS symptoms during week 1 of a new pack and extreme hunger during periods. I also noticed a loss of hair on my scalp. I'm 33, no kids, don't smoke, I exercise, and this was the 3rd brand of birth control I've tried in 15 years (previously on Lutera, then Viorele)."

For Birth Control "After being on Trinessa, I can confidently say that this drug has more cons than pros. I get nausea EVERY morning to the point I want to throw up. My face looks terrible, due to all of the acne from Trinessa. My periods are 7 days long now, and I bled like crazy. My cramps are horrendous and make me call into work sick. DO NOT GET THIS. My doctor recommended this instead of the IUD, which was a mistake. I am now going to get the IUD, but here's the best part, ladies! I take my Trinessa every day, at the same time, but just took a pregnancy test and it is positive. So please, look at other forms of BC, and stay away from Trinessa."

For Birth Control "I have been taking TriNessa for about two months now and have had zero issues. The first couple of weeks, I had slight nausea and mood swings, nothing crazy, probably my body getting used to it. I haven't gained any weight (but I am a college athlete, so I do exercise quite a bit). I have noticed my hunger is more often than before, but I just snack a little to relieve it. I watch what I eat, so I don't gain weight. All in all, everything's been perfect, no complaints."

For Birth Control "I've been on TriNessa for the past 5 months, and I've had nothing but horrible experiences. I started the first pill with my period, and I was okay up until week 1. It was prom, and I got extremely nauseous and threw up twice! I felt horrible (uncontrollable nausea, headaches, crazy mood changes, dry mouth) during the first month, but I decided to stick with it since the side effects were 'normal.' Months 2-4 were better; barely any nausea, only slight mood changes, regular light period. Now in month 5, I'm noticing how much I have changed (because it's summer) and how different I've become. I've become depressed; even thinking about crying makes me cry!"

For Acne "I started taking TriNessa about three months ago as a primary birth control while I am on isotretinoin (Accutane). Overall, I have had a positive experience with it; I haven't had any nausea, headaches, abnormal mood swings, or acne flares. The main negative thing I have to say is when my first period started while taking this, I had the WORST cramps ever and a pretty heavy flow. However, my second period rolled around, and I did not have any cramps at all, plus a normal flow! The only other side effects I have experienced are hair loss and some breast tenderness."

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for 11 months. It did get rid of my cystic acne, but I always had little zits all month. I take the pill at night, and for the first week, it gives me bad nausea. I have headaches around my period. I have terrible mood swings. I have completely lost my sex drive. I like that my periods are 2 or 3 days, but I spot every day halfway through the pack. The pill's not terrible, but it's not good for me."

For Birth Control "I've been taking TriNessa for about 8 months now, and I am satisfied. No pimples, my period is lighter. I also used to get the worst cramps and nausea, and now no cramps or anything. I haven't experienced weight gain, my boobs do feel a little bigger, though. But so far, no complaints."

For Birth Control "I started TriNessa about 2 months ago while visiting family. The 1st day was seemingly perfect. My period ended within hours of taking it. Then the 2nd day, we went to the water park and I was attacked by a horrible bout of nausea. I ended up vomiting at the water park, then 2 more times later that afternoon. I took it the next day and 4 more days following and threw up 3 times each day about 4 hours after taking the dosage. I had no choice but to quit taking it. I couldn't handle the nausea and ongoing sickness."

For Birth Control "I've been trying to find a birth control that works with my body. TriNessa is not it. Ever since I've been taking it, I've noticed I have less energy, I'm incredibly irritable, and I've gained weight even though I've been working out and watching my food intake. Beyond frustrating. Then there's also the nausea. I have three pills left, and I chucked it into the garbage. It helps with acne and to not get pregnant. It gets a 2."

For Birth Control "I have taken Yasmine and the patch before and had to stop at 2 weeks because I immediately started experiencing side effects such as weight gain, nausea, vomiting, depression, and decreased sex drive. In addition, wearing the patch gave me back pain and lots of soreness at the patch site. The IUD came out after my uterus kept contracting (total failure). I recently started taking TriNessa (started 1st Sunday of my period @ 8 pm every night) and this is my 5th day. So far, I am only feeling very mild nausea. I have noticed I feel more energetic than before, so I am wondering if this might be actually balancing my hormones. I have been having irregular periods (2x month). I will update to see if it helps with my irregular periods and if there are more side effects."

For Birth Control "My experience with TriNessa was terrible. I was prescribed this mainly as a birth control method. The first month wasn't bad, I hardly noticed anything. Then the second month rolled around, and I started experiencing severe bloating. I figured it would subside, give or take a week, but it persisted for the entire month and the month after. I felt extremely uncomfortable due to the bloating constantly, and nausea began to settle in as well. I was at a concert and had to sit down because the nausea was so bad. I also gained 10 pounds that I am working my ass off to lose, and it's nearly been impossible to lose the weight. Everyone is different, I understand, so what didn't work for me may work perfectly fine for someone else. I got off this pill."

For Acne "I've been on TriNessa for 9 months. Let me just say I love it! I suffer from cystic acne and have been struggling with it for many years and tried many different things to get rid of it, both natural and non-natural. This is the first time that my acne has cleared up 95%. It is wonderful for anyone with severe acne. During the first 3 months of taking it, I did become very nauseous, light-headed, and vomited. After that, smooth sailing :) The only thing that I can say bad about it is I have a loss of appetite and lost about 10 lbs in about 2 months. I recommend this for anybody with severe acne! It works wonders, and I haven't gotten pregnant yet, so it works."

For Acne "I've been on this medicine for over a year, and I love it. I do experience nausea a little bit, but I think it's mostly just motion sickness. My acne cleared up within 2 weeks, and I barely ever get pimples. I love how it regulates my periods and brought them from being 7 days long to 4. My cramps have gotten a little better too. I hope it works this well for you :)"

For Birth Control "I just started this last week, and I've had the worst nausea in the world. Can't even sleep. I take it at night and wake up feeling really unwell. I'm taking it to regulate my period, but I swear it's not worth it. I want to stop, but I don't know if I should wait to see if it would go away. I'm extremely emotional and grumpy. I get mad about anything and cry about anything. It's ridiculous! I don't know what to do! Help?!"

For Birth Control "I had my daughter 2.5 years ago and put off getting back on birth control for a year and a half after she was born because I know the horrors that can come from it. I went to the doctor for my yearly visit, and she suggested I try TriNessa, and I've been pretty happy with it. The first few months, I had extreme nausea (almost to the point of throwing up - but never did), headaches, and slight weight gain (3-4 lbs). However, I am happy with it because my skin is basically flawless, whereas before I had occasional bad breakouts. I bloat a lot the week before my period, but that would happen to me before anyway."

For Birth Control "I asked my doctor for a birth control because I was in a relationship, and we both decided pregnancy is not in our near future, and I can say Trinessa did its part when it comes to baby-making time, haha. I did not break out a lot before Trinessa, but now even during the week I get my period, I have zero acne, and I am talking no zits at all. I do not take the sugar pills during the week I am on my period because they are only there to take if you cannot remember to start your birth control that Sunday, other than that, they will make you gain weight. Downside, I'm on like month 6, and I'm nauseous almost every time I take my pill, sometimes even after I take it on a full stomach. Still regular cycle, overall I do like it besides the nausea."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for a little under a year for the main reason to prevent pregnancy, but to also help regulate my period. Before I started the pills, I would have horrible cramps and long, heavy periods, and now, other than heavy nausea in the first week and some diarrhea, my periods are short and rather light. This is the only pill I have ever been on, and I can say that it does make me more emotional and sick at times, but no pregnancy! It does the job with little side effects: nausea and diarrhea."

For Birth Control "I was put on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for a year, then I was forced to switch to TriNessa because insurance didn't cover it. I have been on it for 5 months, and it has been the same as Ortho. I have had weight gain, which I love. Breast tenderness isn't as bad, but they swell three weeks into a pack. Nausea every first week of the pack. Cramping sucks. But I get my period every fourth day of placebo. Literally Thursday morning I start, and I LOVE it. My periods are decently light. Overall, favorite pill."

For Acne "I was taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for many years. I don't recall having any problems. Up until last year, for some reason my prescription changed to TriNessa because it was the 'generic' version of Ortho. I went back to the doctor to get a refill last month, and they put me on another generic brand this time of TriNessa. Within the first week of taking it, I was getting bad migraines. The second and third week, I was feeling nauseous all day with also bad stomach pain. I noticed I was feeling depressed and unmotivated. One thing that scared me was my mood swings. I wasn't aware of it at all until my boyfriend said I went from being happy to irritable within minutes. After not even a full month of taking this pill, I will be switching."
