For Acne "I've only been taking TriNessa for a month, but so far I love it. I was getting very self-conscious with my acne, and I was originally going to take Ortho Tri-Cyclen, but my doctor recommended TriNessa. I was VERY worried after reading some of these comments, but I'm so glad I gave it a try! Sure, my skin is not perfect (it's not a magic pill), but it's CONSIDERABLY clearer, and I have not had any nausea, headaches, or dizziness. My breasts have gotten a little sore (a couple of times), but it's a small price to pay for clear skin. Try TriNessa."

For Birth Control "I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for about six years before switching to the IUD, which was awful. I got my IUD taken out and was put on TriNessa. I love it! I loved Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo a lot, and since getting married, money has become more of a priority. It's free with my insurance! Loving it! Physically, my skin has never been more clear, I have less cramps/breast tenderness, and a shorter, lighter period. It's awesome!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Trinessa for a month and a half now, and I love it. There are so many bad reviews out there, I was really scared to try it, but I'm so glad I did. I haven't had any negative side effects except for sore breasts, but it's not even bad. I don't feel the soreness unless I press on them. I was on Necon 7/7/7 for a month before Trinessa, but it made me break out horribly. Trinessa started to clear it up the first week. Now my skin is almost all clear. I don't have mood swings or headaches because of it. Birth control pills affect every woman differently, so you should definitely try it before deciding it's no good."

For Birth Control "I took Trinessa for a year and had no negative side effects, but I decided to try a few other birth control pills in an attempt to have a shorter period. Every single one of them left me moody, depressed, and my sex drive was completely non-existent. Trinessa is the only birth control I've been able to find that both helps with acne and doesn't destroy my sex drive. However, on the last week of active pills, my breasts usually feel heavy and sore, and I will break out a little more than the rest of the month."

For Acne "I am 18 years old, and my dermatologist prescribed TriNessa for acne. I have taken it for 3 months. I have experienced pretty much every side effect on the list. I feel nauseous for every day on the first week of the pack and on most other days too! I have only gained a few pounds because of the extreme increase in appetite, but I've lost the weight since. My breasts have grown a whole cup size, even though I was already a D. And my breasts are always sore to the touch. I have occasional mood swings that make me very sad at times. On the bright side, my acne has gotten significantly better, and my hair is shiny and grows really fast! Also, my insurance completely covers it, it is literally $0! That's a plus as well!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Trinessa for a month, and so far, everything has been great! I have no mood swings and don't get hungry like crazy. I'm eating the same as I normally do. I have not had any bad side effects, the only thing is that my breasts have been so sore ever since I started taking it. But other than that, it is working well for me. And it is also clearing up my face! Before I started taking it, I read reviews and freaked out, but I gave it a try, and it worked wonderfully for my body."

For Birth Control "I was on the shot for about 3 years but decided to change to a birth control, and my doctor recommended TriNessa since I had mild acne. So I started taking it, and I have to say I love it. My period comes at the same time every month, no pregnancy scares, and I often have sex unprotected. My acne cleared up. The only side effect I had in the beginning was tender breasts, and being a little emotional. After it went away. I take the pill at the same time every day. So I highly recommend it to everyone."

For Acne "Works very well for me. My skin got better. I used to have breast tenderness 10 days before my period and very bad stomach cramps the first 3 days every month, now it's gone. I have been on TriNessa for 1 year. It hasn't made me gain any extra weight, and I don't have any mood swings."

I feel bloated, and I even look bloated. I also noticed I get really nauseated at night. Also, my contact lenses just recently started bothering me. They are getting dry, and they feel like I have something in my eyes, but I don't. My face has cleared up, though! I just really hope these bad side effects don't last too long because it really sucks, and my body doesn't feel the same! :("

For Birth Control "I had been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for over ten years, which worked great for me. I lost my insurance two years ago, and my doctor put me on Trinessa. I have always had bad acne, even in my 30s and on Ortho. Trinessa has totally cleared up my face!!! I feel so attractive now! I do have depression and am on medication for that. I have not had any bad side effects from Trinessa. The only thing (which is minor to me) is that I sometimes spot a tiny bit in between periods, but not every month. My boobs also become tender during my period, but they haven't grown. :( Overall, I LOVE Trinessa!!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for 10 months. So far, I have had breast tenderness, fatigue, weight gain, 104 lb to 127 lb (yes, huge difference), lower abdomen pain. Headaches, mood swings not so much, but I do cry a lot, and I mean a lot. The pill is doing its job, although I've had one scare. My period comes three days late and lasts about 3-6 hours, my period hasn't been longer than a day. And it's light, very light, like spotting. TriNessa is a good pill, it has done its job, but the side effects are like symptoms of pregnancy. I could do without the side effects."

For Birth Control "I took this for about 5 months and didn't hate it until the last month or two, but by then I really, really hated it. My shin was pretty clear and my breasts grew two cup sizes, which was nice. However, they hurt constantly and were always sore. I always felt bloated and gained 5 pounds the first week and another 8 pounds over the next couple of months. The weight was IMPOSSIBLE to lose, and as someone who has struggled with eating disorders, it was extremely disheartening. The worst part, however, was a complete and total loss of interest in sex. It was really damaging my relationship, to which sex has been a really huge part. The sex drive wasn't hugely affected until the end of my use of TriNessa, but it was a very intense drop-off."

For Birth Control "My regular birth control was discontinued and was switched to Trinessa 3 months ago. I had weight gain 1+ months later, but didn't put it together. I'm now in my 3rd month and I've gained a total of 15 pounds, anxiety, acne, and breast tenderness. I'm done! I'll be 48 years old this year and don't need the extra problems. I see good and bad reviews, and I'm so glad that I googled it."

For Birth Control "I have been taking TriNessa for one year, and this pill is great. I have never had a change of mood, heavy periods, breast tenderness, gained weight, or lost weight. I have had more interest in sex than I had, which is good. I love this pill, what else can I say!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've only been on TriNessa for a month now, but so far I'm having mixed results. I decided to go back on birth control after an 8-year break (my husband had a vasectomy 8 years ago). I had been looking into NovaSure due to extremely heavy periods, but decided to try the cheaper route first. I used to be on Ortho-Tricyclen before my second son was born with no problems that I recall. I asked for the same again but was given TriNessa, which I assumed would be the same. Almost as soon as I started, I've been experiencing night sweats, slight weight gain (about 5 lbs), and breast soreness. So far my period is lighter though, so I guess it worked for that. I'll give it another 2 months and see if the negatives go away."

For Acne "I started taking TriNessa about three months ago as a primary birth control while I am on isotretinoin (Accutane). Overall, I have had a positive experience with it; I haven't had any nausea, headaches, abnormal mood swings, or acne flares. The main negative thing I have to say is when my first period started while taking this, I had the WORST cramps ever and a pretty heavy flow. However, my second period rolled around, and I did not have any cramps at all, plus a normal flow! The only other side effects I have experienced are hair loss and some breast tenderness."

For Birth Control "I am now 37 years old with eight children. I had gastric bypass in 2012. I had originally started the depo shot after my last daughter, but my doctor was concerned with the possibility of weight gain, so he switched me to TriNessa in February 2018. I have had longer, harder periods since starting. I've had urinary tract infections every month since (thought I wasn't drinking enough water and giving myself the infection). I've had cramping, weight gain, bad headaches, breast tenderness, and recently figured out I had swelling in my legs due to this drug. I figured it out after my 2-year-old lost both my pill packets and my keys one day, and we hadn't found them for almost 3 weeks! (Found them in the box of powdered laundry soap on the dryer.) At this point, I figured I'd just wait a few days and get the new month worth of pills, so a day or so later, I was in the bathroom every little while to urinate, and I noticed that my legs were getting better! Which led me here to see what side effects others have experienced!"

"I have been on TriNessa for 3 months. Everything was going just fine the first two months, a little irritated at times, but I assumed that's just my body getting used to the birth control. Anyway, it wasn't until recently, halfway through my second month up until the middle of my third month (today) that I have been beyond sensitive. Tired. Really sore breasts and literally crying at random times of day, I just cry for no reason, but I feel so helpless. I have never felt so overwhelmed and emotional my whole life. I'm seriously not the crying type at all. As soon as I finish this pack, I'm trying something different. I have the mood swings."

For Birth Control "I was put on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for a year, then I was forced to switch to TriNessa because insurance didn't cover it. I have been on it for 5 months, and it has been the same as Ortho. I have had weight gain, which I love. Breast tenderness isn't as bad, but they swell three weeks into a pack. Nausea every first week of the pack. Cramping sucks. But I get my period every fourth day of placebo. Literally Thursday morning I start, and I LOVE it. My periods are decently light. Overall, favorite pill."

For Acne "This is my third month into TriNessa. I can't say I hate it, and definitely can't say I love it. During my first 2 weeks, I experienced very awful breast tenderness (making roller coasters at the time not a pleasant experience), and some nausea and major headaches. My first period on this was a little hellish, but my periods before the pill were 8 long, heavy days. I was put on this pill for my acne. Before the pill, I always got acne before and after my period on my forehead (cystic), and when I started this pill, I started only getting whiteheads (which is doable). It's the week after my period, and for 3 long weeks, I've had awful cystic acne on my chin and forehead. I am planning to give the pill at least 3 more months."

For Ovarian Cysts "I am 29, never been on birth control before. I recently started taking it due to painful periods caused by uterine fibroids. I started taking it a month ago. I would take it around 1 pm, and it was the worst mistake ever. I could not control my emotions or mood, I was feeling foggy and in a daze, always tired, could not concentrate, always agitated. My friend suggested I start taking them at night before bed, so I take them at 10-ish to 10:30 now, and it makes a huge difference. I'm back to my old self now. My periods last at least 5 days, nowhere near the bloating or the painful periods I've had before. I have not experienced any weight gain or any other negative effects besides the ones from taking them during the day. My breasts are sometimes tender, but not a big deal."

For Birth Control "The first few days of taking this, I experienced slight nausea, some cramps, and breast tenderness. Now, the nausea I’m experiencing is off the roof. I’m disgusted by foods, and yet I have to constantly eat to make my nausea subside a little. I’m going to switch to a different brand."

For Birth Control "I had been on the Depo shot for about 8 years when I switched to the Nexplanon implant. That was the worst decision I ever made. I had never been so depressed or sore or had to deal with out-of-control periods until I got it inserted. I couldn't deal with it anymore, so I told my doctor that Orthotricyclen Lo had worked well before (I didn't want to do the shot again for various reasons - mainly work-related), so I requested to be put back on that. I have super predictable periods again, I'm far less depressed than I used to be, and my skin has NEVER been this clear before. The ONLY thing I hate about it is the fact that my breasts hurt all the time. There are very few moments when they don't hurt. More pros than cons for me, though."
