For Birth Control "I just started my 3rd cycle of the Sprintec pills. This is my experience. 1st month: nausea, emotional, sensitive breasts, and terrible acne. 2nd: acne flare-up at the beginning of the month and similar symptoms to the first month. 3rd: another acne flare-up, this time the breakout is worse than month 2. For me, the biggest problem is the acne. I have struggled with acne my whole life, so it's nothing new to deal with. However, the worst experience I had with acne was when I was 13-15 years old; on Sprintec, my skin has reversed itself to my teenage years -- maybe even a little worse. I talked with my dermatologist and physician, and both told me to stay optimistic about the future of my skin - saying clearer skin comes around month 4."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for almost a year now. It's the first BC I've ever tried. Didn't have any problems until lately, mainly just nausea and sore breasts. One thing I've noticed is that it makes my PMS really bad. I've never gotten bad mood swings before, but I have been lately. I've forgotten once or twice, and haven't gotten pregnant, so it's definitely working. The side effects are catching up to me though."

For Birth Control "The first couple of months were a bit odd: I experienced an increase in appetite, a short-lived acne attack, then sore breasts 1-2 weeks before the withdrawal period. After the initial 2 months getting acquainted, Sprintec and I became good friends. It does its job without further noticeable side effects for me. My period is lighter, but on and off: 3 days of period, 1-2 days break, then another 2-3 days and no need for overnight pads."

For Birth Control "I'm 22, normal weight, healthy. I was nauseous and broke out for the first week. My boobs were basically always tender, but they also swelled (I'm like an A cup, so I saw that as a plus). I have always been an easy crier, and it did intensify that. I've always had a low libido, so I don't think it changed much (although my libido went way up after getting off of Sprintec). I was sad to have to get off it because I had such minor side effects, but the issue I had was bleeding for 7 months. It was light - I went through about 2 panty liners per day and didn't need to sleep in anything - until the last week when I got fed up. I bled so much that I was blacking out and feeling sick. I stopped cold turkey and got headaches, but the bleeding is over!!!"

For Birth Control "I have always had very light periods that last maybe a total of 4-5 days. I was on Sprintec for nearly two weeks and got my period. It’s been a heavy, cramp-filled, never-ending period, and I actually stopped taking the birth control in hopes that I will finally come off of my period. Also had breast tenderness the whole time. I feel like providers still prescribe this pill in order to then be able to say, “I told you that the pill sucks,” so that you’ll be on their side and want to get on the implant or IUD since they get major commission from those."

For Birth Control "So far, so good, I guess. I'm toward the end of my second pack. But now I have severe cramps for my whole period, which lasts for 10 days. My skin isn't any better. I get bloated and tender breasts now, where I didn't before, but I'm not pregnant. I'm hoping it gets more pleasant."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Sprintec since after my accident on June 5, 2011. It messes up my cycle and made my breasts feel sore every day. I couldn't take the pill unless I had already eaten or was about to eat because it made me feel lightheaded, and my legs were cramping and stomach cramps were worse than normal. I've been feeling sick off and on since I've been taking it."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for two months now, and my doctor had told me that if I wanted to skip my period, I could just skip over the white and jump right into the next pack. So, after deciding to do so, I've been bleeding for the past week now unexpectedly throughout the day. I have never had acne before, but now that I've been on Sprintec, my forehead has been spotting. Also, my breasts have become larger, I believe, but sore to touch almost every day. I have gained about 10 lbs from it, and my sex drive is gone about halfway through activity. And I've also been feeling bloated. I'm not totally satisfied with the product, but not totally dissatisfied since it obviously works. Debating going off it though."

For Birth Control "I was put on Sprintec when I moved to the US since the brand I was on in the UK isn’t available here. I’ve taken Sprintec for 4 years until now when my pharmacy switched it with Mili. I feel like an idiot that I had no idea Sprintec was causing 0 sex drive and pain during intercourse, and it started when I moved to the US, so I can’t believe I didn’t put two and two together. It also caused breast tenderness and made me nauseous for 3 days at the beginning of every pack without fail. Hoping Mili provides relief from all those issues and kicking myself for putting up with those things for so many years. Did its job, but every woman is different, so make sure you don’t ignore any new symptoms when starting any pill."

For Birth Control "I am on my second pack of Sprintec. Doctor prescribed for polycystic ovarian syndrome. Having terrible breast pain all day long. Nights are even more terrible. Now changing my medication to another birth control pill once this pack is over. She told me not to change medication in between one cycle. So bearing pain. My periods have gotten regular, and skin feels better. No special feeling for sex, but for sure no fluid... very dry."

For Birth Control "My doctor prescribed Sprintec for hormonal imbalance, PMDD. (I'm 42) I take active pills for 3 months before I have a period. The first 3-4 days during the first week I get very nauseous an hour after taking. I started taking my pills at night, and crackers help too. My breasts have doubled in cup size (not a bad thing) and are swollen and sensitive. I'm hoping this subsides after my breasts stop growing. I have also gained 8-10 pounds. My doctor prescribed a water pill to help reduce swelling. I think I may need a stronger prescription. (I have gone off Sprintec in the past, and the 8-10 pounds drop off in a month or less) Sprintec helps a great deal with my symptoms, which include: mood swings, headache, backache, painful cramps, depression."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control before (this time) and had no problems with it. This time, when I started using it again, my breasts were very tender the first two months. I have had no problems with my period coming when it is supposed to while I have been on Sprintec. I am on my fourth package right now and only halfway through the month. Last night, I woke up because of cramping, I was up for 1 1/2 hours with really painful cramps in my back and pelvic area. I woke up this morning to discover that my period had started, a week and a half early. I have also noticed that my skin has been much more oily this time around, and I have been getting acne increasingly on my face and upper back."

"I just recently started Sprintec about a month and a half ago, and I know it takes 3 months for it to 'kick in,' but holy moly! Month 1: the first month started out okay. I had mild cramping and breast tenderness. My breasts actually enlarged, which is nice! Mild nausea and some pretty heavy mood swings and anxiety, but overall nothing horrible. And then my period hit. I deal with pretty bad cramps, to the point where I can't stand up or I throw up or drop to the ground, but let me tell you! These were the WORST cramps I have ever had! I bled extremely heavily, and I was in so much pain it was horrible. I thought I was going to die. Month 2: My breasts hurt extremely badly, and I have mild to medium cramping every day. I am extremely moody and anxious and feel helpless all the time. This pill is not for people with existing anxiety or depression. I will be stopping this pill ASAP because the side effects are not worth it for me. Good luck to all of you!"

For Birth Control "I have been on and off Sprintec (on for 4 months, off, then on again for less than a month). The first 4 months I was on it, I gained a lot of weight and suffered severe emotional instability. I also got 3 yeast infections right after stopping the first time. Did its job as a BC and made my skin look nice (even though I have pretty normal skin to begin with), but not worth the negative effects. Breasts grew a lot and they hurt, plus the weight gain made me hate my body for the first time ever. At first, I didn't know it was the pill, but starting it a second time made me realize it was Sprintec causing the changes in my body and appetite. After reading the reviews here, I realize now that anyone with a history of anxiety will be negatively affected by the pill, and I definitely was."

For Birth Control "So I was put on Sprintec to regulate my period, and it did. However, this is one of those times when the cons outweigh the pros. I was on the pill for about 4 months. When I first started, I did get headaches and breast tenderness, you know some of the common side effects. They were bearable though. Around the second month, I ended up having a yeast infection, and at first, I didn’t really think much of it. Then I started getting it every month after that. My doctor claims there is no correlation, but I know my body. And I think I was right because, once I came off the pill, it cleared up. Also, my sex drive was nonexistent on the pill, but it took a while for me to notice until my boyfriend brought it to my attention. But I will say the pill helped reduce my acne. It’s all trial and error, and people have to take that risk to find what’s right for them."

For Birth Control "Previously, I had an IUD (Mirena). After 3 years, all of a sudden, that caused me to start having terrible headaches and a lump in my breast, which went away. I waited 3 months to get my body back to normal before starting Sprintec. It works well at prevention, no more headaches. My boobs have been sore and have grown almost a full cup size in just 2 months. It has increased my appetite. I'm very skinny, always been about 100 lbs. I have gained 4 lbs in 2 months. This never happens. I do not fluctuate in weight. I haven't decided if I like it yet. I'm happy with my weight, but I'm a little worried if the increased appetite keeps up, if it will taper off soon or continue."

For Birth Control "Taken this birth control for 3 weeks now. Just started the period week with no period. My breasts have grown and were extremely sore for about 1 week. My face has broken out horribly in the last few days. In a matter of hours! I usually don't get acne, but this pill has caused horrible breakouts all over my face. It has also made my face oily. I will give this pill another month or so, hopefully, this side effect will go away."

For Birth Control "I switched to Sprintec almost two months ago. The first month went well. My period only lasted about 4-5 days instead of my normal 5-7. My breasts did get a bit swollen and sore the first few weeks of the pack, but it wasn't terrible. However, I have noticed that the first few days of a new pack, I get vaginal itchiness, and I worry that I'm going to get a yeast infection. This second month has been terrible, though. I started my second week of pills with some light spotting, and now I am at the end of my 3rd week, and it has progressively turned into a fairly regular flow, so much so that I have to wear a tampon every day. I'm nervous to see how bad it gets next week when I'm actually supposed to be on my period."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for 3 months now. My first month, I had really bad acne, and my breasts were very sore. However, those symptoms stopped within a few days of my first cycle. I do experience occasional dizziness and nausea, but they usually pass after 10 minutes or so. I haven't had any weight loss or gain, and my mood and sex drive haven't been affected at all. My periods aren't completely regular even with the birth control, but they are much lighter and more tolerable. I am very happy with my experience with Sprintec so far."

For Birth Control "I unfortunately had to remove my wonderful IUD and was forced to resort to taking birth control pills. I have taken them in the past before I had my child, so I didn't think it would be an issue. I have been bleeding since the day I started taking, ranging from spotting to heavy. My breasts are so swollen and painful, it is miserable. I have had random cramps that are debilitating. The doctor switched me to the Ortho Cyclen today, hoping that helps. I have never been this uncomfortable before. I feel swollen and bloated everywhere. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests because it just seemed within a week my body was acting like that of a 9-month pregnant person, all negative thank goodness. Getting back on the IUD as soon as possible."

For Birth Control "This is only my second week taking it, and I take it at night, but right after I eat, I get nauseous. My breasts were sore, but that went away. The only problem I'm having is my period. It usually only lasts about 4 days, but it's going on the 8th day now. Maybe I have to get used to it first."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for a week, and it's caused me to be more moody and nauseous pretty badly the first few days. On the 3rd day, it subsided momentarily, then came back on the 4th day. It's pretty much off and on, not unbearable, but makes me have less of an appetite. I get dull cramps daily and was worried about it until I read these other posts. My breasts are also sore, and my sex drive has decreased a little. I've also been tired before it even hits 9 p.m. It makes my workday longer."

My breasts are severely tender, too. My sex drive has increased a lot. But I am dry a lot for some reason. I will probably end up switching for the better."
