For Birth Control "I used Sprintec for about a year and a half, and I gained an immense amount of weight. Side effects would include sore breasts and nausea if I had to start over because I forgot. The week I stopped taking Sprintec, I lost about 5 lb, and it's been about a year since I've been off Sprintec, and without even trying, I lost 45 pounds. I also had very bad mood swings and became very emotional. On the good side, my acne cleared up, and my period was light and only lasted 4-5 days."

For Birth Control "Honestly hated this. I wasn’t on it for long enough to really get an idea of how this pill was because the side effects were so bad that I couldn’t take it anymore. It gave me bad acne (which I never get), I was bloated all day, every day and gained 11 pounds in about two weeks, got awful mood swings, and had a really low sex drive. The only reason I’m giving this pill two points is one for preventing pregnancy and one for not causing spotting, which some pills cause. It took me about two months after going off the pill to lose the weight. I switched to a low dose pill and liked it way more. My boobs also went up a size or two and were painful, but that is expected with the pill. Would recommend this pill to no one though as I had really extreme side effects."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this medication for 3 weeks, and I’m not totally sold on it. Early pros: I don’t feel as anxious. Early cons: severe nausea, headaches, diarrhea, increased acne, tender breasts. I’ve tried almost every birth control on the market; this certainly isn’t the worst, but it’s still not a winner. I can’t wait till they come out with a birth control for men."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 2 months, and I had no bad side effects besides really sore breasts. I switched to another pill to alleviate this, but I just wanted to leave my review to combat some of the scarier negative ones on here. I did not gain weight, and my mood felt better."

For Birth Control "I will preface this by saying that I haven't been on any form of hormonal birth control in over ten years. I am 40 years old and started taking this pill for perimenopausal symptoms. I wasn't able to track my cycle anymore. That being said, I really wanted to like this pill. My insurance covers it. It provided relief from the symptoms I had been having, and I felt more level. However, the side effects were just as bad. I had breakthrough bleeding every day after the first week. From day one, my breasts were incredibly sore and grew in size (not a bonus for me). I was dry heaving in the middle of the night. The constipation and bloating aren't fun either. I called my doc after 2 weeks. I need lower estrogen and will start the NuvaRing today."

For Birth Control "Overall, I liked this pill. The positives outweighed the negatives for me. Initially, I took it to change my cycle due to a vacation I was going on. I decided to stay on it for another 4 months as birth control. The positives: regular period, no weight gain, no breakthrough bleeding, no more cramping, no co-pay, and NO babies! The negatives: mood swings, leg cramps, occasional cystic acne (a week before and during placebo week), remembering to take it every day, and breast tenderness. Eventually, I got tired of remembering to take a pill every day, so I switched to the Nexplanon arm implant, which has been great so far. If the pill doesn't work out for you, there are other good options!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for about 3 months now. I would say I used to be somewhat of a nonchalant person, but with this, I have been a lot more emotional and moody. Some days I wake up with no motivation and just feel nothing. Or some days I listen to a song and want to cry because it's really good or sad. I just feel depressed a majority of the time and cry for no reason or because of even the littlest thing, or overthinking. My appetite with this pill has definitely changed as well, I feel like I'm always hungry or craving something to eat or drink. Libido is still the same. And my boobs are very sensitive and seem bigger, so I guess that's a plus. But hey, I haven't gotten pregnant and been getting my period consistently."

For Birth Control "I'm 16 and have been on this birth control for about a year and a few months now. The first few months, I had weird brown discharge, and I was really moody, my boobs were really sore, and they grew. I've gained about 15 pounds since being on birth control. I was put on it for regulating my period, but I have had my first boyfriend and I have been sexually active. My acne wasn't bad to begin with, but now it's starting to act up. I still get moody, and sometimes my periods come three days late (it's exactly three days every time), but it ends up coming, which worried me before. But it does its job in regulating and preventing pregnancy."

For Birth Control "Sprintec birth control pill may be like other birth control pills, I haven't tried any other ones yet, but this one is making me absolutely insane! I have the worst mood swings, anxiety, and depression! It cleared up my acne, but my sex drive went down to almost nothing. Extreme vaginal dryness and weight gain. My boobs did grow a whole cup size, but they have hurt every single day for the last three packs. I am going to try Portia next after this pack is done. I can't take it anymore!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed Sprintec after having an irregular period. I absolutely love this birth control! I went from having 3-4 periods a year to a PERFECT cycle. This birth control is not for everyone! I experienced no symptoms at all. My flow is regular-about 4-5 days of light bleeding. I usually feel breast tenderness and slight bloating before my period, otherwise, I have not experienced any negative symptoms."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec since September of 2016. So far, I have not gained any weight at all. My acne has also greatly improved. The only side effects that really bother me are the occasional extreme breast tenderness and the acid reflux. My breasts grew one cup size, which I actually don't mind. I was diagnosed with depression about 6 years ago, but this pill has not made it any worse. My period always starts on a Sunday and ends on a Wednesday, so I never have any surprises. I also don't have as many cramps as I used to."

For Ovarian Cysts "I initially had Mononessa prescribed for PCOS but switched after 3 months to Sprintec. Of course, I experienced the usual side effects with both, i.e., nausea, mood swings, hot flashes, breast tenderness, and headaches, but only for the first week or two. However, with Sprintec, I am now experiencing depression, my skin on my face and chest area above my breast is not as smooth as it used to be, and worst of all, a yeast infection, which I have never suffered from before (awful itching, but Monistat 7 is helping a lot). I'm still quite new to Sprintec and hope all this goes away."

For Ovarian Cysts "I have been on Sprintec a year and randomly it causes me to bleed for over a month straight. Which is expensive when it comes to liners or ruining my panties. Since being on it, I have gained weight while I watch my calories and work out a lot. As well, it causes breast pain. It made them bigger to the point I may need a reduction. Don’t forget to mention the emotions. I work hard to control it, but I just want to cry all the time."

For Birth Control "I took this birth control pill for about three months. I have been fortunate to never experience intense sadness or depressive feelings since I was born, discounting family/friend deaths or illnesses. After starting the pill, I noticed a change in my attitude and mindset. I used to wake up extremely happy and stay happy throughout the day, but the pill caused me to become sad. Depression became a major factor in my everyday life on the pill, and suicidal ideations soon followed during the third month. I felt crazy on the pill, and I became really insecure. The only other side effect besides depression was breast tenderness. It was effective in preventing pregnancy, and I did not get migraines or spotting."

For Birth Control "I don't understand. This pill is terrible. I recently got married and have been taking this pill for about two weeks, and I'm quitting immediately. Tender breasts (which is not a big complaint), and also depression-like symptoms. I've read some people saying they were prescribed anti-depressants while taking this pill, which is absolutely ridiculous, and no one should have to do that. Also, I feel tired all the time, and my sex drive is completely gone. It's been causing some real strain because my husband was under the impression that I'm all of a sudden not attracted to him anymore. It's also made me nauseous most days. I don't know what is in this crap, but I'm staying away."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started Sprintec about two weeks ago. I started taking it because of my irregular periods and painful cramps. So far I have had little symptoms, but nothing huge. I have been spotting brown discharge since my last period every day. That's kind of annoying, and I hope it goes away. And my breasts have been tender in the morning. Other than that, I haven't had any weight gain, and my mood has been good. So far, this pill has been great."

For Birth Control "I absolutely have nothing bad to say about this medicine. My breasts have gotten a little bigger, no change in my appetite that I can tell, and it has even cleared my face up. It keeps my acne under control, so I love it. I never did have cramps, so no change there. The only thing is that my breasts are more tender."

For Birth Control "When first beginning this medication, I experienced nausea, the first month only. I've been taking this medication for over a year now and I'm very happy with it. No problem with acne at all, just body hair growth. I don't have any cramping or breast tenderness either."

For Birth Control "Just started taking these pills a few weeks ago. Am on the placebo pills part of the pack now. Period has not started yet. Side effects I've been experiencing: fatigue, nausea (non-stop), slight cramping, acne breakouts (which I've never had an issue with before), fuller breasts, very sore/tender breasts, and my period has yet to start. However, I did have unprotected sex within the first 7 days of starting the pill. So, my symptoms could be signs of early pregnancy or adverse side effects of the pill. Will update in a few days."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I got put on Sprintec a month ago. My 4th week taking it (period week) is THE WORST. I’m having every symptom of pregnancy (I know I’m not pregnant), my breasts are so sore it hurts to put a shirt on and wash them in the shower. I’m nauseous and vomiting. Smelling any food makes me want to vomit. Although my appetite has decreased, I have gained 7 pounds in one month. I’m very bloated. The only decent thing about this pill is that it has increased my sex drive immensely. But all the other negative symptoms greatly outweigh the one good one. It’s made my period a lot heavier than usual as well. And my face has never had so much acne on it. Very upsetting."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for a year now. I took it to have a less painful, more regulated cycle. The first 3 months were the worst for me. It cleared up my acne (not that it was horrible to begin with), but it also gave me dermatitis on my face within the first month. During the first few months, I had severe breast tenderness that would last for 1-2 weeks, which is slightly more tolerable now but still painful and only lasts for a few days. I also get very bloated during the 3rd week of the pack. I have more regular periods, however, I have since gained 15-20 lbs and can't seem to get rid of the extra weight even though I eat healthy and exercise 4-5 days a week. My mood hasn't changed except for the last week of the pack, which is normal during my period. My sex drive has gone down a bit as well. I am switching to a lower dose birth control after finishing up my last pack. Each person's body reacts differently, hopefully, others will have a better experience."

For Birth Control "I was 17 and switched from the highest dose estrogen patch (to increase estrogen levels) to Sprintec, and finally got my period after never having it. I initially thought it worked fine, I never got acne (never had it to begin with) and could track my periods down to the day it would start and end. On the other hand, periods were the worst. Very heavy periods with a lot of clots, horrible cramps, and only a few cases of mood swings. My period only lasts maybe 4 days total, though. I am now switching since my periods were so bad. In terms of pregnancy prevention, it did its job, even with no other use of contraception, like condoms. It also made me very dry and lowered my sex drive. A good perk is that it made my boobs grow maybe a cup size up! They're still slightly tender at all times, though. Other than that, it's an okay choice for BC. I don't have anything else to compare it to, though, but for my first time ever using an oral birth control tablet, not terrible."

For Birth Control "Sprintec is the first birth control I've ever been on. I have some side effects like cramping, the nausea gets bad, back pain, and breast tenderness. Other than that, it works really well for me. Helped with my period coming on time also."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Sprintec for about 5 months now, and I've had severe changes in my mood and mental state. I used to be a really happy person, but now almost everything makes me burst into tears or lash out. I've gained about 10 pounds just in the last 5 months, and I haven't even changed my eating habits (which were healthy to begin with). My breasts have gotten bigger and are almost always swollen and sore. The only reason I started taking this brand of birth control was because of how cheap it is. I'm going to switch to Microgestin 1.5/30 and see how I do on that."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for four months. The first month I started taking it, I all of a sudden got extremely depressed and felt on edge all the time. I experienced nausea, some breast pain, extreme headaches, and I gained 15 pounds in the first 3 months. Some of the symptoms have gone away, and I haven't had any breakout, but I still get down in the dumps. One day I'll be high, and a couple of hours later, I felt like I wanted to crawl under a rock. Before getting on this birth control, my boyfriend and I had sex every day at least once. Now I'm lucky if I feel like doing it twice a week. There's maybe a 3-4 day period where I want to, besides that, I just don't feel like it anymore. I wouldn't recommend this birth control at all."
