For Birth Control "I've taken this pill for one month, and so far the first week I was absolutely fine. Then the second week I started to be a little bit down, and then the third week I literally cried at least three times a day. I became very tired, and I had no motivation to do anything. I slept 12-14 hours, or I didn't sleep at all. I've been angry and irritable over the slightest things. I am 15, and normally I'm a very bubbly, positive, energetic person, and I don't even feel like me anymore. I've been really depressed. I'm very highly disappointed with this pill. It was the first birth control I've ever used. I used it to regulate my period, so far it's done its job I suppose, however, the side effects and mood that I've been in are most certainly not worth it. Don't take it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is supposed to be my second month on Estarylla, after not taking birth control for over 8 years. I’ve never experienced mood swings (although I’m naturally moody) on any birth control until now. Estarylla has made me so depressed, I constantly had headaches (and I very rarely get headaches), and the bleeding this month was insane. I was passing blood clots the size of my fist and went to the ER because I was so worried. They said everything was fine, and I wasn’t prescribed anything to stop or slow the bleeding... but I know that this isn’t normal. Gonna find a new birth control because Estarylla is not the answer for me. I started taking it because I was having bleeding between periods for a few months, and I wanted to be more regular. This did regulate my cycle, but I’d rather be irregular than have the massive amount of bleeding that I did on my cycle."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I used to take Sprintec, but the pharmacy isn't carrying it now, I believe. I started taking this generic, which is supposed to be the same, and the first month was okay, my period was shorter than normal. We get to month 2, and my period starts up on week 2 of the pack. I am now on month 3, and my period started up again midway through week 1, I haven’t stopped bleeding. So for the whole entire month of January, I have had to stock up on supplies because my period hasn't stopped at all. I want to sleep all the time, I already have issues with my depression and anxiety, and I’ve noticed since starting the birth control I am a little bit more on edge. Would not recommend anybody take this pill."

For Birth Control "Okay, I was really nervous to take Estarylla because of all the bad reviews, and I normally take Trinessa. Anyway, after I ran out of Trinessa, I decided to put on my big girl jeans and try out Estarylla. If the pill was going to be bad for me, I was going to stop taking it and request another birth control. When I took the first pill, I had a slight headache, but I still went to all my classes. By my third pill, I think I had a little depression, but I couldn't tell if it was the pill or just my college classes being tough on me. Regardless, I still got my work and extracurricular activities done. Currently, I'm on Week 3, and I'm still alive!!! No headache, stomach pains, depression. I'm good. I think you, reader, need to be reminded that our body reacts differently to certain medications. Also, my acne isn't bad either, my face is actually clearing up. Just know every little pill is different. Good luck!"

For Ovarian Cysts "Dangerous. Especially if you are prone to anxiety or depression. My pharmacy switched me to this twice after Mononessa was no longer available. Once last year and again in the last month. I’ve spotted every day on this pill, with abnormal depression and anxiety. Definitely will never take again, and definitely do not recommend!!"

For Birth Control "I started this birth control about a month ago after switching from the generic brand of Yaz (Loryna, I believe), and I am about to finish my last pack. Before taking it, I was a bit hesitant because of the many bad reviews about it. But, after a month of taking it, I am happy to say I haven’t experienced barely any negative side effects. I haven’t felt depressed or anxious, I don’t believe I’ve gained weight (although I don’t have a scale to measure myself), and I haven’t had any headaches, stomach pain, etc. I have noticed a few pimples, but I also have been slacking on my skincare routine lately. All in all, I would suggest giving this birth control a try, and don’t let the bad reviews scare you. Yes, everyone’s body is different, but you don’t know how it will affect you until you try it for yourself."

For Birth Control "I’ve taken Estarylla for 4 months now, and I’m getting headaches frequently, a metal taste in my mouth that comes and goes, low energy/lethargy pretty much all the time, appetite issues. Even when I’m eating well, I still don’t feel right. The week before my period had come, I had a variety of pregnancy symptoms, and I’ve had symptoms of anxiety and depression on and off. I’m not very thrilled with this birth control, and I’m thinking about either getting off of it or switching to something else."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Estarylla for about 4 months now. Before this, I was taking Sprintec, and it seemed to be working just fine for me. The pharmacy changed the prescription, saying that it was the same birth control with no different side effects. Wrong!!! I am a little bit of an emotional and sensitive person as it is, but this birth control has turned me into the worst emotional wreck that I have ever been!!! I am constantly nauseous with relief very rarely. Headaches come and go, but it’s mostly the nausea, anxiety, and depression. I definitely would not recommend this birth control to any girl who wants to keep their happy spirit alive and kicking. It’s terrible."

For Birth Control "I am a 35 yr. old mom of 2. My Dr. put me on this to help with severe period cramps and possible endometriosis diagnosis. I've only been on birth control prior to my kids (husband is fixed now) who are now 9 and 11. Been on this for one month and I've gained 6 lbs! Mind you, I am normally very active (I teach cycle class 5 days a week) and eat healthy, but this weight gain is crazy! Also, I have had weird tingling feelings and have been super unmotivated to do anything! I thought I had a weird flu because I could not figure out where all my energy went?! Stopping immediately, hopefully, I'll find better relief with another pill. Thanks for all the reviews! I know everyone reacts differently, but it's comforting to know I'm not alone."

For Birth Control "Please listen to these reviews! The worst BC pill ever. I'm 18 and was getting terrible migraines, so my doctor prescribed this pill in order to help with them. The pill did help with them, but that is about the extent to which these pills did something good for me. The first 2 months of taking these pills, I experienced nausea EVERY morning. I also started experiencing actual panic attacks, which I had never had before. The first 3 months, I didn't experience weight gain, so I thought I lucked out, but nope. In about 3 weeks, I gained over 8 lbs without a change in my diet or lifestyle. For the past month, I have been eating healthier and exercising to try and shed the lbs, but nothing seems to work. I am also bloated all of the time. My anxiety and depression have been crazy lately, and I just do not feel like myself. Tomorrow is my last day on this pill, and I could not be happier. Please do not take this pill."

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla 0.25 mg for a month and a half now. I've had such terrible experiences with birth control pills. But I can say there's not too much bad I can say about Estarylla other than I am nauseous as if I'm pregnant. Mornings seem to be the worst. I take my pill at night to help avoid sickness, but I'm sick regardless. But I can say it's cleared up my ache and NO CRAZY MOOD SWINGS! Thank God.. NO MORE depression, anxiety, night sweats, NO WEIGHT GAIN. I'm waiting on period #2 to see how my blood flow will be this month because unlike the other pills, I can say I had a longer period than the typical 3-4 days. My period last month was a good 7-10 days. I am hoping this month will be lighter and my typical 3-4 days :)"

For Birth Control "HORRIBLE! If you are used to taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, this is not a substitute! I've had crazy mood swings, depression, fatigue, bleeding, nausea day and waking me up at night, and to make it worse I've broken out worse than I have been in years. Almost worse than I had in middle school, and I'm 31. Stay away!"

For Ovarian Cysts "This is a terrible pill! I was on Mononessa for years, mainly to balance issues related to PCOS - depression, anxiety, irregular bleeding, excess hair. All was going okay - better when I ate right and exercised regularly. Then suddenly no pharmacies near me would stock Mononessa, and they switched me to Estarylla, claiming it was exactly the same pill. I spoke with my doctor and nurses, and they assured me it was the same. They are not the same. I've been on Estarylla for 3 months and have never in my life had panic attacks and depressive episodes like this. I've had spotting between periods, and my libido is dead. Makes you wonder who's making $$$ off this pill - because after reading other reviews it sure as hell isn't helping anyone."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I like to think of myself as a pretty normal 20-year-old, and I play sports in college. Ever since my pharmacy changed from Ortho Tri-Cyclen to Tri-Estarylla, I have been depressed, crying, angry, having severe anxiety attacks, and more. I have been on birth control for my irregular periods since I was about 16 and had no problems with Ortho Tri-Cyclen. Do not take Tri-Estarylla!"

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. I was on Mononessa for years and loved it until the pharmacy switched it to this garbage. At first, it was typical, but by the 3rd week my health flipped. My anxiety and depression got so bad, I was feeling nauseous and lightheaded all day. I had so much trouble breathing, had low self-esteem and was overthinking everything and couldn’t handle stress. I was exhausted all the time but would wake up constantly with chills, and my heart was racing nonstop. I finally realized the only thing that’s different was this stupid pill, so I quit taking it, but not before my doctor informed me I now have an overactive thyroid that was likely brought on by this. For mental and physical health, don’t accept this pill."

For Birth Control "The WORST! I was switched to after years of being on Mononessa. Mononessa gave me no issues. I have never had depression before, and over the last year, I have been depressed, and one time I had suicidal thoughts. I get irate at small things, like a coworker not refilling the hand soap, or I would start crying when the person driving in front of me took too long to turn. I have always been a happy person, and I never felt like myself when I was taking this pill. I am chronically fatigued all day, every day. I can sleep 8 hours and still not want to get up. I started having to take naps daily because otherwise, I can't even handle a small task, like the dishes. Gained a few pounds, and even with exercising 5 days a week and eating healthy, I couldn't lose weight. I am a bubbly, active individual... not on this. I wasted over a year of my life, feeling crappy about myself and crying because of this pill. This pill has tormented me. My sex drive was weak. I hope no one else has to experience any of this."

For Birth Control "This pill actually made me depressed, anxious, and nauseous to the point where I couldn't function. I took it for two years when I was first prescribed it because I never actually associated the symptoms with the pill until one day I brought up how I was nauseous all the time to my doctor, and she recommended I switch pills. Once I got off this pill, I immediately felt happier and less anxious. It did prevent pregnancy, but literally, whenever I would take even the tiniest drink of any kind of alcohol, I'd be nauseous for the rest of the night. I recently took this pill again for a few days, and these symptoms immediately returned. Never touching it again."

For Birth Control "I gave Estarylla a 1 because of my side effects since starting it. The only good thing I can say about it is that I did not become pregnant while on it. Changed insurance last year, and new insurance changed me to Mononessa. Remained normal with my period right on track. Four months ago, insurance changed me again to Estarylla. Since starting Estarylla, I have had extreme weight gain, increased gas to the point of constantly being bloated, very dry skin and acne, mood swings, crying about things that wouldn't bother me normally, increased depression, anxiety, and cramping in my legs. My period became completely off track after years of being balanced. For 4 months, I have not known what day I would start, and either heavy or so light, from 3 to 7 days, and the worst cramps of my life. Went to my GYN last week, and she told me I should have called her sooner. Told her I was trying to give it a fair shot. She changed me to something else, and I can't wait to start it. Estarylla has made me miserable! If you have another option, try that first."

For Birth Control "This will be the 6th month I've been on Estarylla, but I'm going to stop taking it and find another birth control. Although it's done its job with preventing pregnancy, this certain pill makes me much more emotionally unstable. Before taking it, I was a social and overall happy person, but now I get upset over the most insignificant things, push people away, and feel anxious/sad more often than I'm happy. :( It's even affected my relationship with my boyfriend because he thinks I'm always sad around him, but it's just this dang pill messing with my emotions! I know medications affect people differently, but from seeing the other reviews, just be warned that this pill can increase depression, mood swings, anxiety, etc."

For Birth Control "I have been on Estarylla for almost 4 months now, and I have never felt like this in my life. Like many people on here as well, I was switched from Mononessa (which worked very well for me!) by either the pharmacy or my insurance without telling me beforehand. I have had several legitimate panic attacks, I have an unreasonable amount of anger and irritation, and feel so depressed that I no longer feel that I deserve love. When I first noticed I was put on this, I saw that many people did not enjoy the side effects, but I wanted to give it a solid 3 months to see how I truly responded to it. I can say with confidence now that it is not worth ANYONE trying. There are so many other birth control options, try anything else before this one. I feel that if I were to continue on this medication for much longer, I would begin to have suicidal thoughts, that's how bad this is. Please, do not take this medication."

For Birth Control "Okay, let me just start with the first point. I do not like this birth control. I was originally on TriNessa Lo for a while and didn’t really seem to have any serious problems with it at all. Now, just this month, I was switched to Estarylla and didn’t seem bothered by it at first, but once I hit the last week of my active pills, it was downhill from there. I have had severe anxiety and depression. Don’t want to do anything. I overthink everything. Feel like my chest is tight and have shortness of breath because of the anxiety and couldn’t seem to feel my emotions. This went on from Sunday to now, Saturday. 7 full days!!! I’m going to call my doctor this week and hopefully be able to be changed to a different brand or back to my old one."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been taking this pill for about 8 months. If you are taking it because you have severe irregular periods like me, it worked fantastically on regulating my periods and reducing cramps. But the side effects are horrendous. I have severe anxiety as it is without this pill, but it made it so much worse. I got severely depressed and anxious, and it gave me thoughts of suicide, which I have never had before. I have had migraines, dizziness, and feeling faint. It is different for everyone, but personally, dealing with the side effects is not worth it! I’ve now been off for about 4-5 days, and I got my period immediately after stopping, it’s extremely heavy, and I do not recommend it."

For Birth Control "As far as birth control works, Estarylla does the job. For everything else, it's not great. I was on Mononessa for 3 years to regulate my periods as I have PCOS. With that, I never bled in between periods, and I felt like myself. Then I was told Mononessa was discontinued. I was switched to another generic - Estarylla by my pharmacy, and in the first month, I had stomach pain but didn't bleed in between periods. I bled for about 3-5 days instead of 7 (or more). I felt more depressed and anxious than usual and had very little sex drive, though. Then in the following months, I would start bleeding midweek during the third week of pills, which would stop for a few days, then I would get my period. It wasn't light bleeding, it was heavy bleeding with clots. After 4 months of that, I couldn't take it anymore and asked to switch. I don't know if what I am switched to will be better, but I wasn't happy with this medication at all."

For Endometriosis "This is by far the worst birth control I have ever taken. Prior to using it, I never experienced depression, anxiety, or negative thoughts, but since starting it, I have been going through intense waves of emotions, anxiety, and mood swings. The mood swings have been particularly severe, making it difficult for me to function at times. It's as if this birth control has intensified my premenstrual syndrome symptoms. I find it absolutely awful."
