For Birth Control "I have been suffering from terrible mood swings, anxiety, and depression for a few months now and couldn’t figure out for the life of me what was wrong. It came on very suddenly. I am incredibly paranoid, anxious, irritable, sad most of the time, and just feel empty and not like myself at all! After reading these reviews, I now know why. Additionally, I had near-perfect skin before I started this BC, now I experience painful cystic acne and have nasty breakouts all over my face. My hair falls out in clumps. And I still get bad cramping before my period, which I thought this was supposed to help with. Getting rid of this immediately and trying something different. Only giving a 2 because I didn’t get pregnant, but my sex drive went down to below zero on this pill, so I guess that isn’t saying much anyways!!!!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking this medication for nearly two weeks. I've become an emotional mess when I'm usually laid back and down to earth. I remember taking Sprintec around 5 months ago, and I don't remember feeling this way. The nurse said it was the same as Sprintec, just a generic brand. I've become increasingly paranoid, anxious, irate, and I've been having really dark thoughts. I don't even feel like talking to my significant other anymore. The only good thing is that it prevents pregnancy. Everyone's experience is different, but mine has been far from good."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for many years. The mail pharmacy decided to change to Estarylla without asking my permission. When I received the Estarylla, I called my doctor to see if it was the same as Sprintec. The doctor said it's the same, just a different name. I have taken the Estarylla for only 5 days. I am currently on antidepressants and was doing great, no problems. Estarylla has made my depression come back and also started anxiety. I wake up with anxiety. I also feel very blue-sad. I cannot handle this. Going back to Sprintec ASAP. Do not take this medicine if you have other options."

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla for maybe half a year and didn't develop any side effects right away, but slowly I started noticing that I was sad a lot more over nothing! I gained some weight, became very anxious, and my sex drive also vanished. Everything in my life is great, but the only thing I could think of was these pills had caused it because it didn't happen right away, but slowly progressed as the months went by. I recently stopped taking it in hopes I can go back to myself while the pill fades from my system. I'm not sure exactly if it was indeed the pill, but I was informed this pill does cause those types of side effects, ladies, so be careful. Hope this helps."

For Birth Control "I've been on multiple different birth controls since 2018, and this has been the worst one yet. Unfortunately, this worsened my anxiety and depression to the point where I was having anxiety attacks on a weekly basis after going two years without them. Not only this, but I have been experiencing consistent migraines for the first time in my life. I gained a bit of weight, my skin isn't as clear as it was, and overall has been messing with my body. I wish I didn't have bad things to say, but this has been an unfortunate circumstance that I'm glad to have figured out."

For Ovarian Cysts "I was switched, like many other users, from MonoNessa to Estarylla and have experienced increased anxiety. I was taking MonoNessa with no problems until Walgreens switched their supplier. I have contacted my doctor to get a prescription stating not to give a generic, so hopefully that will help."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 3 weeks, and I feel sick all the time and have nausea after I eat. I have had spotting for 2 weeks nonstop, and I have not felt like myself since taking this. I also was very bloated the second week after taking Estarylla. I've been very anxious and feel fatigued and have no appetite at all. Do not take this birth control. I'm not sure how good it works with preventing pregnancy, but it's definitely not worth all the side effects that come with it."

For Birth Control "I have tried other birth control pill types in the past with no real issues, but I had my tubes removed in 2017, so I stopped all birth control. My mood fluctuations center around my cycle, which is normal, but my symptoms are severe. My doctor started me on this one for that. I haven't even made it 2 weeks, and I will be stopping it. The symptoms I experienced: extreme anxiety and depression, nightly panic attacks-even waking me up from sleep, itching of face, neck, chest, and arms, awful nausea and stomach/back cramps, and a crawling under my skin sensation in my legs and sometimes chest that made it impossible to get more than a couple of hours of sleep every night. I wish I had done more research into this pill. I'm glad not everyone has this experience, but I wish the possible side effects were more clearly communicated by the medical community."

For Birth Control "My teen daughter has been taking this pill for over eight months to regulate her periods since they would last longer days than normal. Her cycles are normal, but she has developed depression, anxiety, and hair loss. I took her to the doctor to switch to a lower mg. I don’t recommend this pill at all."

For Birth Control "Do not take Estarylla. I'd been on Sprintec for years and never had any problems. Walgreens changed my brand and didn't tell me. I'm on my third month with it, and I've decided to just stop taking it because it's causing me so much anxiety, I had to up my Prozac prescription. My first period was on the heavier side, but the second one I just spotted, and my discharge has been outrageous."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was originally on Femynor, and everything was well. Then my doctor prescribed me the generic version of it, Estarylla. Estarylla gave me lots of anxiety, mood swings, breast tenderness, upset stomachs daily, and it did nothing to shorten my periods or stop the flow from being so heavy. I decided to finally stop taking it once I began to bleed nonstop every day for three weeks. I consulted a gyno about it, and they swapped me to Loryna. I hope my period stops being such a nightmare."

For Birth Control "I've been on birth control for the last, like, 15 years. I just switched to Estarylla about 5 or 6 months ago. Never have I ever experienced side effects like I have on this one. I've gained so much weight, and my hair is falling out. I'm so depressed and angry all the time. My mood swings are ridiculous. My anxiety is so bad. I've never had an anxiety attack in my life until I switched to this birth control. I literally thought I was going crazy. But come to find out, it is my birth control."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Estarylla for about 5 years now, and I love it. I never write reviews, but I've always seen how bad the reviews are on this, so I decided to write one. I honestly don't feel any side effects, my skin is overall clear, and my weight is normal. I never noticed drastic changes, and my sex drive is perfectly fine as well. My periods are regular, I just get increased anxiety during them, but that's just because of my period, not the pill. I also have never had any pregnancy scares with this, lol. I know different pills work differently for everyone, but I wanted to share that this one genuinely has been a breeze for me! Don't let the negative reviews scare you, if it doesn't work for you, then it doesn't, but it also may work amazingly for you! You never know until you try."

For Birth Control "Before I was randomly switched to Estarylla, I was on Sprintec for more than 4 years. I loved my Sprintec birth control, my skin was great, my weight was great, mild cramping, high sex drive, and here and there I was emotional, but overall it really did the job for me. Then I was randomly switched to Estarylla, the pharmacist told me I would be just fine and it wouldn’t change much. That was a total lie. I’ve been on Estarylla for about 3 months now, and it is so awful. My acne has returned really bad to the point I’m going back to my dermatologist to get prescribed something for it to stop causing cysts and scarring. I gained like 15 lbs, I get so depressed and anxious way more than I ever have. Lastly, my sex drive is meh now. The only thing I appreciate about this pill is my periods don’t last as long. But let me tell you, I’ve already set an appointment to switch back to Sprintec. DO NOT RECOMMEND."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Estarylla for two months now, and I’ve noticed a lot of negative changes in my body. The first month, I was nauseous every day with a splitting headache. I couldn’t do anything because I felt like garbage. (However, these symptoms seemed to go away during my period.) When I started up the second month, I noticed my nausea went down, but my head still hurts, I have developed bad anxiety, irritation, and depression. I don’t want to get out of bed in the morning, I feel groggy, I just want to sleep, and not be social. (If you knew me, you would know this isn’t normal for me.) I mean, it’s effective birth control so far, but it’s just messed me up psychologically and physically to the point of not wanting to take it anymore. I know every woman’s body and experience is different, but I just thought I would share my experience to see if other women experience the same side effects."

For Birth Control "As a young 18-20 something year old, and it being my first time on birth control ever, I have to say that it is fantastic. The extremely negative comments scared me, but I did not have those experiences. Maybe the first week I had some really bad anxiety and fatigue, but after the first 3-4 days I was feeling better than ever. I don’t get any of the other side effects, and as someone who has disordered eating, not gaining weight was definitely a weight lifted off my shoulders (all sizes are beautiful, just a personal struggle I experience). The birth control is extremely easy to take and manage, and I feel confident while taking it. I never struggled with acne, so I’m not sure how it works on that, but I assume well from other people. At the end of the day, all bodies are different. This is going to work miracles for some or be hell for others. Your body is YOUR body, you have to experience it yourself."

For Birth Control "I'm on day 2 of taking this pill. The first day was terrible. I felt foggy, anxious, my palms were clammy, and I was very dizzy. My head felt like a balloon. It passed after I went for a run. The second day was worse. I was violently nauseated, same headache. The smell of certain foods made me sick. I vomited. Today is day 3, and I am seriously contemplating calling my GYN to switch. I don't want to be difficult and give up so quickly, but if I have to feel like this daily, I will gladly switch. I can't even perform my job duties properly because I'm constantly going to the bathroom. This pill is horrible."

For Birth Control "I was previously on Femynor and was put on Estarylla. The first week of the packs is the worst: morning sickness, loss of appetite, sensitivity to smells, cramps, and sore breasts. The first week on the pack will have you believing that you’re pregnant, but after that first week, the pack is a breeze. I’ve lost about 10 pounds due to the nausea, and my anxiety and depression have skyrocketed, but the clear skin and lighter periods make it worth the while. So far, no pregnancy either, so it seems to be doing its job. It’s not the best pill to be on, but it’s not terrible either."

"I developed severe anxiety and depression while taking this medication. It did not help with acne, but it did make my period more consistent and lighter. Really just not worth it!"
