For Birth Control "This is the worst pill ever! I'm on the 4th day, and all these past days, even the first day, I have been having such bad anxiety, dark thoughts, moodiness, crying, and having super bad nausea. Don't take it."

For Birth Control "I've been taking birth control for a few years now. They had me on Previfem before but switched to Estarylla about a year ago, saying it was the same thing. I take the 0.25 mg. I suffer from manic depression, anxiety, and insomnia, so I never thought anything else was making it worse until just recently. I thought about how the week of green pills that are non-hormonal may be affecting my mood. The past year has been so bad for my mental and physical health due to intense fatigue, mood swings, anxiety over the smallest things, and insomnia, which then reacts to my body being tired and makes me restless. After reading how many reviews have the same pattern as my experience, I'm going to set an appointment with my OBGYN ASAP and hopefully find a better option."

For Birth Control "If I could give this a zero, I would. I should have looked up the reviews before ever taking it. Fifteen minutes after popping it in my mouth, I'm anxious, paranoid, and sobbing over the smallest things. It has nearly destroyed my relationship, and I feel absolutely insane. Unless you enjoy sobbing, lethargy, panic attacks, paranoia, and suicidal thoughts and tendencies, AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE."

For Birth Control "Everyone is different, and I’m glad this works well for some. These side effects are rough for me. This is my third month on Estarylla after being switched from Sprintec, like many others. I got behind in school because of the anxiety and depression, which I didn’t attribute to the pill because I am predisposed to those conditions without it. I was more irritable and wanted to isolate. I couldn’t motivate myself to be a person that actively participates in life. Also, it prevented pregnancy but also sex. Vaginal dryness in my late 20s is a mood killer for him and me. He feels he is doing something wrong, and I feel bad that no matter how horny I am, my body won’t respond. It cost me money in lube, and it was hard to get into sex after that. That wasn’t the worst part, though. The first week of these pills made me nauseous. I was so ill. This is the third month trying to adjust my body before I called it quits. I have lost 10 lbs in 48 hours because of the excessive diarrhea."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "At first, this medicine worked, but then I began experiencing severe migraines, and so my doctor modified the pills to best suit me. Which worked out better for about 2 months. Now I've back to having severe cramps, migraines, heavy bleeding, depression, and anxiety. I wouldn't recommend this medication."

For Birth Control "I've taken many different types of birth control trying to find the right fit. I saw good reviews for Sprintec, so I was going to go with that, but my doctor gave me the generic instead, which is Estarylla. I've only been on it a month, and I'm nearing the last week of my pack. I haven't eaten for 3 days because I feel so sick, I've thrown up for the past 2 days as well. I haven't had sex since I started this pill because my sex drive is totally gone. This is seriously the worst birth control I've been on, I can't even finish the pack, I feel so sick and anxious all the time. Do NOT get this birth control. There are a million different ones out there that are so much better."

For Birth Control "Absolutely horrific. Walgreens switched me to this after my original birth control was discontinued. I tried it for 3 months to give it a fair chance. My anxiety and acne are worse, and I have to wear a tampon every single day of the month because of excessive spotting. The first month, I thought this was just my body getting used to it, but now, after 3 months, I’m done! I contacted my doctor to prescribe something else."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about a year and a half now. I was originally on Mononessa but was switched to this generic one out of nowhere. I had suffered from anxiety and depression before, but I had removed myself from the situations that made me tick. I was completely fine for months on Mononessa. Happier, healthier, and in a way better position. I started taking Estarylla and everything came back. I never used to cry, but now sometimes I cry up to 3 times a day! This pill completely reverted any progress I had made, and it makes me extremely irritable. Originally, I thought it was just me, but after some research, my boyfriend and I found out it was this pill, so I’m switching ASAP. Not only is it emotionally unhealthy, but it also caused me to get terrible breakouts a week before my period until a week after. It is not worth it to go on this for clear skin! Do not do it!"

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec for about 9 months before I was switched to Estarylla, and I noticed the change almost immediately. I developed anxiety, lost my ability to concentrate, have frequent mood swings, go in and out of depressive episodes, and my mental state near my period is so overwhelmed that I feel like I'm a different person. My friends and family have noticed the change to a point where they think I don't seem like myself anymore. On Sprintec, my whole face was clear, and my skin glowed. On Estarylla, my skin glows (with oil), and I get hormonal breakouts on my chin that I never had with Sprintec. I know Estarylla is the 'chemical equivalent,' but there must be a difference in the two because Estarylla has deteriorated my mental health in a way no birth control ever has before. Everybody is different, and for some people, Estarylla may be great! But if you are on Sprintec and love it, if your pharmacist or doctor gives you Estarylla instead, DO NOT TAKE IT."

For Birth Control "Never in my life have I been depressed or had anxiety or any type of mental health problems until I started this pill. It didn’t happen right away, but it slowly crept up on me, and I always had mood swings, and I would cry over the smallest things. I felt very unmotivated and just like I was always sad. I knew that the way I was feeling had to be because of this pill since I had never felt like this in my entire life. Honestly, it’s not worth it at all, I do not recommend this pill for anyone. Please prioritize your mental health!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla for about 3-4 months. I have tried to give my body time to adjust to this pill, but I really am not a fan. I have horrible mood swings, worsening anxiety and depression, spotting, cramps, bloating, and nausea after taking the pill - sometimes to the point where I throw up. The only 'pro' is that I'm not pregnant. Can't wait to get off this medication."

For Birth Control "I have only been on Estarylla for a month, and I am having nothing but issues. I go to the gym regularly and eat a healthy diet, and I have done nothing but gain weight. I feel swollen and bloated constantly, and I have headaches almost every day. It was given to me as the generic for Sprintec (which was amazing), and I can't believe how different they are. I am emotional and on edge all of the time. I don't even want to know what my period will feel like if this is what I am going through already. I don't know why anyone would want to put themselves through this even for just a birth control. I do not recommend Estarylla at all."

For Birth Control "Read all these negative reviews and still tried it because I have horrible periods. DON'T BE LIKE ME, DON'T DO IT. If you must take this pill, at least quit after a month or sooner if you are feeling bad. I stuck it out for 2.5 months like an idiot because I was trying for the 3-month mark. Everyone in my life was worried. This pill made me extremely depressed, anxious to the point that I spent those two months doing nothing. Constant migraines. Horrible nausea, which is not something I've experienced ever before in my life. Even now, going off of it, I'm still nauseous just from how much it messed me up. I was so emotional, and it was clearly hormonal. That feeling you get when you are on your period and you cry at a commercial but ALL THE TIME. Month of spotting then heavy bleeding on my period. This pill robbed me of 3 months of my life that I'll never get back, and I could have easily lost even more. Be careful. (took Lutera before and never had such severe side effects, I'm in my mid-20s)"

For Birth Control "I took Sprintec and Monolinyah depending on my pharmacy’s stock from about 2017-2021. I was switched over to Estarylla, and I unfortunately noticed an increase in my anxiety, experienced a very heavy depression, my libido vanished, my period got slightly heavier, and I started having some abnormal bleeding that made me truly convinced I was dying (it’s important to note that I’m a hypochondriac). My gyn has switched me over to something new, and I’m already feeling better just after a week, but because of the poor side effects, I could only rate this about 60% effective for me. It did prevent pregnancy! The only reason I didn’t switch to something else faster was that I didn’t believe it could possibly just be my pills causing me all of these issues. Listen to your body (and mind!) signals, even if you’ve been taking something for years and never noticed an issue. This could be a great pill for you, just keep an eye on your side effects."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 10 months, and it has triggered a deep depression that I have been struggling with for about two months now. CONSTANT mood swings. I am ruining my relationship of two years because of the constant mood swings and dark thoughts. I am not like this at all, I am a very optimistic and happy person, and this BC has really messed with me, triggered deep anxiety, and constant dark thoughts. I am getting off this pill. I am tired of not feeling like myself. Other than that, it gets one star because I did not get pregnant while taking this pill."

"This BC gave me an adrenal deficiency, causing mood swings, breakthrough bleeding, anxiety, depression, inability to fall asleep, inability to wake up in the morning, and severe fatigue. I have been on this for almost two months now, and prior to use, I went to the gym every day, had lots of energy, and no anxiety. After this pill pack, I’m switching to the mini pill to estrogen detox."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 6 months, my face is nice and clear, but that's it. I get anxiety and feel worried all the time and can never be truly happy or enjoy anything. I get shortness of breath just sitting down. There are times I feel like I will be having a heart attack, and I am only 25 and healthy. It makes me so emotional at times, I just want to cry out of nowhere. For sure, it is great at birth control, but my sex drive is gone, with dryness and at times discomfort. Plus, a 22-pound increase."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 3 weeks, and I feel sick all the time and have nausea after I eat. I have had spotting for 2 weeks nonstop, and I have not felt like myself since taking this. I also was very bloated the second week after taking Estarylla. I've been very anxious and feel fatigued and have no appetite at all. Do not take this birth control. I'm not sure how good it works with preventing pregnancy, but it's definitely not worth all the side effects that come with it."

For Birth Control "It has been an okay pill for me so far, but reading these reviews makes me wonder. I have been depressed, strong anxiety, and random cries while taking this pill, but I thought it may have been postpartum depression. I also have random feelings of nausea and have thrown up for no reason at least three times with this pill in the five, almost six months."

For Birth Control "I am not one to complain about medicine. However, I wish I would’ve read these reviews BEFORE I started taking Estarylla. I’ve been on Tri-Nessa for 2 years (with no problems) and switched medicine to find an easier way to skip periods. The doctor prescribed Mononessa, but I was stuck with this brand. I suffer occasionally from migraines outside of medicine, but I’ve had a dull headache most every day since I’ve been taking this medicine. Never had that problem with Tri-Nessa, as it actually helped my migraines. If that’s not bad enough, 3 months in on this medicine, and I have HORRIBLE anxiety and feel like I’m going crazy. I feel like I want to crawl out of my skin, as I’m jittery, and it feels like I’m dreaming my daily life. I never have had anxiety in my life. I cannot wait to finish this pack in 2 days and go back to the doctor next week, as I’m going back to Tri-Nessa. Do NOT take this medicine without doing your research."

For Birth Control "I was on Mononessa for a year and a half before I was switched to Estarylla. I had no problems while on Mononessa, and at first, I didn’t notice any side effects while on this one. However, the last month, my anxiety has increased significantly. Out of nowhere, I will feel lightheaded, extremely anxious, and have a hot flash. I have never felt like this ever until starting Estarylla. I’m getting off this ASAP."

For Birth Control "Started this medicine 11 days ago, and like most others, it was due to Walgreens no longer carrying my previous birth control. All last week I have felt dizzy, nauseous, anxious, and felt like I had a racing heart. I feel so out of it, I ended up going to the ER ($250 copay :( ). My blood pressure was 180/105!!!!! I have been on blood pressure medication for 2 days, and it has come down, but my bottom number is still ranging from 90-101. I honestly did not think anything of it because Walgreens stated it was the exact same, but when my friend specifically asked about birth control tonight, I put the two together. I will be calling the doctor tomorrow to try to get this switched. I just wanted to review so people knew to check their blood pressure considering this may be what caused mine to get to a very high level for me. Again, not 100% sure this is the cause, but it is the only thing in my life this past week that has changed."

"Was originally on Sprintec, but my pharmacy gave me this Estarylla generic one, and now in the first week, I’ve had headaches every day, increased appetite, and increased anxiety. I couldn’t understand why I was having such bad anxiety until realizing other people have noticed a difference. I suffer from anxiety to begin with, but Estarylla noticeably increased it. Not happy. Will never take this one again."
