For Birth Control "I started this birth control after my insurance stopped covering Loloestrin Fe. The first 2 months of this were a breeze. I had little to no symptoms, almost like I wasn't even on birth control. I finally reached my 3rd month and I am truly horrified by my experience with this B.C. I am a sexually active woman and the symptoms I'm experiencing are making me feel like I may be pregnant even though I am not. It started with severe constipation, frequent urination, loss of appetite altogether, nausea all day every day, mostly at night. I truly can't take it anymore, and I decided to stop this B.C. last night in hopes of the nausea stopping. If you are feeling this way, please go to your gyno and seek a new pill. It's truly not worth this feeling."

For Birth Control "I recently started taking this 3 days ago for PCOS… I asked my doctor for something to control facial hair, but it honestly seems like this is a nightmare. I have a strict skincare routine and rarely ever break out. Then, 3 days in, I'm starting to see bumps on my forehead. I feel like my pores are enlarged, I get nauseous from the smell of food, and my vision is blurry…. Also, TMI, but I get dark-colored discharge the size of a crayon? This is too much for me… I'll just use my other medications and forget this."

For Birth Control "I recently decided to get back on this pill, after I was off it for a few months. My experience has been slightly different from the first time I took it. As it has in the past, my skin has completely cleared up, however, this time around, I am feeling extremely nauseous, lost my sex drive, and I am constantly and randomly just bursting into tears. This might just be temporary side effects, hopefully, it gets better soon..."

For Birth Control "I've had my fair share of birth controls. I am pretty healthy. Microgestin works for me, I have very light periods that last about 4 to 5 days and no cramps, where normally I have fairly painful ones. No feeling sick or headaches, or depression, or weight gain, or any other major side effects. Maybe other than feeling a bit nauseous in the morning because I take it the night before. But it works as described for me!"

For Birth Control "I started this pill, and all seemed fine. I had some symptoms while my body was 'adjusting' to the hormones: breakthrough bleeding, a little weight gain, feeling blue. But I guess my body never fully adjusted because 6 months later, this pill is giving me headaches. I have breakthrough bleeding in the middle of the month every month, I feel slightly nauseous all throughout the day, and I still cramp and get acne. I didn't get pregnant, though, and my periods were super light and short, but this pill just doesn't work with my body, I think."

For Birth Control "Been on this pill for three weeks. The first week, I had headaches and nausea and almost quit taking it due to the side effects, but my body adjusted. I have a lot of digestive tract issues, but this works for me. I have grown almost a cup size and, on certain days, have tenderness. My sex drive is a lot higher than normal. I had some spotting and a few minor breakouts during the second week. So far, so good. I'm 19, and this is my first birth control. No complaints so far, it's worth trying."

For Menstrual Disorders "I think if you already had some underlying issue like I had, terrible PMS and painful periods, and you felt terrible mood swings, etc., without BC, then this pill seems to work well. It seems like women who have minor PMS and such don't do well with this one. But I have felt amazing since starting it. I barely have a period and no PMS. No PMS! I haven't had any mood issues or hormonal issues since starting it. I have noticed my breasts are more full, which is welcome. Only real side effect was nausea for the first 1.5 weeks in the morning and evening, which wasn't fun. I feel great on it."

For Birth Control "Awful, swore I was on this before and was miserable but gave it a chance because I switched doctors and we didn't have old records, but I had the horrible flashbacks instantly as soon as I switched to this birth control. I had the following symptoms: lowered sex drive; my boyfriend even noticed, it became embarrassing. Breaking out, weight gain, intense headaches, nausea all the time; felt like I was car sick 24/7. Severe cramping; never wanted to crawl in bed and cry so much as I had with this med. Heavy periods, interrupted sleep, tender boobs. Ugh, needless to say this has been a nightmare; do not do this to yourself."

For Birth Control "I started Microgestin 9 days ago - 2 days after starting it, I started having the worst heartburn I have had in years, in spite of the fact that I take Prilosec daily. 3 days after starting it, I started getting bloated - I could hear the air moving around my GI tract, had horrible gas pains, and looked pregnant. Add in intermittent nausea the next day. I gained 1 lb this week - which isn't much, I know, but considering I'm on a concentrated diet and exercise program and have been steadily losing 1-2 lbs a week for 3 months.... Nothing else in my life has changed, so I could only attribute all of this to the pill. My doc said this isn't a side effect... but clearly from what I read, it is! Stopped today, feel better tonight already."

For Birth Control "To be honest, the first month I used this medication, it was rough. I fell into a severe depression and started to break out and experienced nausea consistently. After the first month, things got a lot better. Now, after 7 months of taking the pill, my before unbearable cramps are almost nonexistent, my period that used to last a full week only lasts 4 days, and all the side effects I experienced the first month were gone within the second. My breasts did go up a cup size, but I did not gain any weight, so I took it as a positive. Now, since I've switched to another pharmacy, they gave me Junel, and I am very unhappy and want to go back to Microgestin immediately."

For Birth Control "I honestly don't like these pills at all. I mean, there are good side effects, but they're all mostly bad. The good thing about it is that I never broke out with acne, and my chest got a little bigger. But the bad side of these pills is that I get sick to my stomach whenever I start a new month, major mood swings, depression to the point where I'm thinking suicidal thoughts, and usually I'm not like that, and they don't even help with my menstrual cramps because they are still pretty severe. Every person's body is different, but if these symptoms don't stop, I'm switching to another brand."

For Birth Control "I really like this pill. I'm 21 and been on it since I was 19. I haven't experienced any weight gain, nausea, discomfort, mood swings, or acne. And periods are a breeze! Mine lasts for 2 days and is so light! My skin actually cleared up since I've been on it, and I have even lost weight. (This was due to a change in diet, not the actual pill. I just wanted to show that it's possible to still lose weight on this pill.) I also have not lost my sex drive AT ALL. When I'm with the right person, I'm always in the mood. And yeah, obviously, each pill will affect everyone differently, so choose one that is right for you!"

For Birth Control "Been on this for a week now. So far, my acne has cleared up. Breasts have noticeably gotten larger. Sex drive is definitely higher (and more enjoyable). Some food cravings, but not a larger appetite. Just want certain things. Had slight tension headaches and mild nausea the first few days, however, increasing my water intake helped dissipate these symptoms. Slight moodiness the first few days, similar to PMS, but less intense. Some loose stools. On day 8 and feeling great. The body was just getting used to the new hormones. The boyfriend loves the noticeably larger breasts and increased sex drive."

For Birth Control "I'm using this pill for birth control. I was scared to use it at first because of all the bad reviews, but I didn't have any symptoms at all until about a week and a half in. I started spotting like crazy, I was nauseous and didn't want to do anything, also, it made me a little depressed, and I started getting a little more acne than usual. So, I called the doctor, and they said to switch to taking the pill at night. I take the pill as close to 10 pm as possible, and I haven't had any more spotting or nausea. Also, I just had my first period while on the pill, and even though my periods are never heavy, this one was even lighter and didn't last as long as my normal period would. So far, it's doing its job for its intended use."

For Birth Control "I'm finishing up my first pack, and I can honestly say I love it. I only experience minimal side effects, but with putting hormones in your body, that's to be expected. I take the pill at 9 pm every night, and about an hour later, I get a little bit nauseous, but it's not that bad. I also had a little (barely noticeable) acne, sore boobs, light dizziness, spotting, and increased appetite, but mind over matter! Of course, if you freak, it'll feel worse than it really is. Overall, this pill is great, and I'm not pregnant, so it's doing its job!"

For Birth Control "I wanted to wait until I had been on this pill for a month and had my first cycle on it before writing a review. I was put on it because of a diagnosis of PCOS, and I wanted to try and shrink the cysts. The only side effects I've really had are nausea, terrible skin, and big boobs. Now, for some people, that last one would be great; however, I like my boobs the size that they were lol. Maybe once my hormones all balance out, they'll go down. The nausea only comes in waves, which isn't that bad, and my skin cleared some after the first two weeks. However, I still have dry skin, which isn't something I dealt with before. Also, my cycle was very light and hardly any cramps; just back pain."

For Birth Control "I am 21 years old. I was first put on Microgestin at the age of 15, my freshman year of high school, because my anxiety was so bad. When I graduated high school 4 years later, I tried another pill-made me gain weight. NuvaRing made me nauseous every single day for 3 months, then another pill. Then I figured I'd just go for the IUD. Worst decision I ever made. Getting it inserted was the most painful thing I've ever experienced, and for 3 days after, I literally had 'labor pains.' I stayed with it for 6 months and completely lost my sex drive, and when I got it removed, I had my period for 3 weeks. I went back to Microgestin last week, and it's the best decision for me, and I've never had a single problem or scare. I love it!"

For Birth Control "I'm going to give you the total rundown of this pill because I couldn't find one single descriptive review, and my anxiety was through the roof when I first started. I am 18 years old, with terrible, irregular, heavy flow, so my doctor prescribed this for me. My mom also wanted me to be safe if I were to try anything with my boyfriend. So, I am 5'2, around 107 pounds, and I have been taking this for almost 2 months now. I have not gained any weight, nor have I experienced any acne, if anything, I've lost 3 pounds, and my skin is glowy (mind you, I am a couch potato). I did, however, experience nausea every day. I started at 6 PM, I would wake up in the middle of the night with low blood pressure. Don't recommend this starting time. Helped flow!"

For Birth Control "Started this pill exactly a month ago, and the first week was terrible. Felt nauseous about 6 hours after taking the pill, which made me very weak and sick feeling. Had to call out of work twice and leave early because I would throw up. My second week got a lot better, started taking it around 8 pm and would sleep through the side effects. Still taking it today and feel a lot better."

For Birth Control "I've been on Microgestin Fe 1/20 for a little over a year now. The first few weeks of taking it, I had horrible nausea, but after that, it worked great. I do notice that I become more emotional over things sometimes (angry without reason, sad because of nothing). My periods are very light and last for about 4-5 days, although this is the first month where my period has come for just one day. I didn't have acne or cramps before, and I still don't get them. My breasts also increased a size. I particularly enjoy this birth control."

For Birth Control "Okay, so I was on this pill for about 5 months. I have really horrible period cramps to where I couldn't get out of bed. I've tried 2 other pills before this one, and those didn't work, so I tried this one. The only positive thing about this pill is no pregnancy scares and light periods, and my face stayed clear. But as far as negative effects, I was severely depressed all the time and suffering from anxiety attacks daily. Secondary to the anxiety, I would be constantly nauseous, and worst of all, I had no sex drive, just the thought of sex disgusted me, which really sucked because my boyfriend and I are very sexually active. I decided that it was time to switch to the new one that I'm on now, which is wonderful."

For Birth Control "So I started this birth control a little under 2 months ago. I'm 18 years old and was previously on Generess Fe until my insurance didn't cover it anymore. I've noticed my boobs have started to grow more, which is a plus. But I am nauseous all the time. Like I feel disgustingly sick. Also, I have insane sugar cravings and really bad mood swings. I haven't had a period on this yet, most likely because my body is still adjusting. This birth control is effective considering I'm not pregnant! I'm gonna stick with this for a while longer and see if the nausea has calmed down or gone away."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Microgestin Fe 1/20 for seven months. The first week, I felt nauseous and had no appetite, but that subsided. No changes in my breasts. I weighed 142 when I started taking the pill, and I now weigh 132 with zero changes in my diet (and I love junk food). I have had blackheads on my chin the entire time I've been on this pill. I wanted to take birth control to get rid of facial and body hair, but this pill has not helped in that regard. My moods felt stable for the first two months, but then I started crying at everything: happy and sad. Yesterday, I realized that my moods are interfering with my relationship, so I will try to find a different pill that does not affect my emotions. This is a fairly stable pill. No extremes."

For Birth Control "I went from Lo Loestrin to Microgestin to Blisovi. I was on Lo Loestrin when I was 20, and I'm 24 now. I barely remember anything except it making me nauseous the first day. I switched to Microgestin at 21 due to new insurance. There was a transition period, but I've been on it for 3 years, and it reduced my acne and stopped my menstrual migraines and mood swings. I switched insurance again, and now I'm on Blisovi. It's only been a week, but I've already experienced my first mood swing and got two whopper breakouts. Currently, trying to get back on Microgestin because it really worked for my body, and I don't want to transition into another BC again."

For Birth Control "Just finishing my first pack with this medication, and I have to say, it's working great for me. I'm 20 years old, and this was my first time on hormonal birth control. I chose to get on it for birth control, to help acne, and to regulate my period. Needless to say, I was scared to try it and was worried about side effects. My first week was probably the hardest. I bled for the first 2 days pretty heavy, then it stopped. I had nausea on and off for the first week and a half or so, sometimes lasting all day. I could tell my body was a little thrown off, but it subsided by week two. Since then, it's been smooth sailing, and I feel adjusted and perfectly myself on it. Nothing but a good experience for me so far!"
