For Menstrual Disorders "I've just started taking Loestrin 24 FE for my painful, heavy, irregular periods. I was two weeks late on my period before I started the pill. I've been on the pill for almost two weeks, and I've started spotting. Call me crazy, but I think it might be because this is when my period should have started if the last one wasn't late. Up until yesterday, when the spotting started, I haven't had any problems. I haven't been feeling crazy or emotional like I used to. I've felt happy and more energetic. I've noticed my breasts have gotten bigger. Skin looks great. I've had minimal swelling and no serious problems yet. I have hope in the medicine that it will work once my body adjusts to it."

For Birth Control "I love this pill. I've been on Loestrin for about 4 months now, and it's worked fantastically for me. The first couple of weeks or so, I had some significant nausea and bloating. I also had some spotting for the first couple of months, but now everything is fine! My periods only last about 3-4 days, and they're very light, I love it. I also had pretty bad mood swings, but nothing I couldn't sort out. On the plus side, my breasts grew a cup size, and I think my sex drive has actually increased! I would definitely recommend it."

For Birth Control "I used Yaz for over a year and started having breakthrough bleeding, so my doctor decided to try me on Loestrin 24 Fe. I'm on month three. The first month, my sex drive went up 200%. My period lasted 2 1/2 days - one day heavy. I was having 5 days, with 2 of those being very heavy. I couldn't believe it. The second month, my sex drive went back to normal, but my period lasted only 2 days again, with lots of cramping but only spotting. I'm hoping month three will be more normal. The doctor said it would make my period last only a day, which is awesome, but like someone else wrote, it would be nice to have an actual period so I wouldn't think I was pregnant. I never gained weight on Yaz, and I've gained a few pounds with this pill."

"I am fifteen years old and I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for six months. I am roughly 140 pounds, 5'6'', with no known history of women's problems. I am about to switch to Seasonique because I don't like my birth control. It was great at first with only a little spotting, which a panty liner was barely needed. It has made my cramps insufferable. All I want to do is lay down in a small ball in bed all day. It made my period a very dark color, and it doesn't start until the 3rd brown pill and ends on the 3rd white pill. I have always had a lot of headaches, and from taking this medicine, they have increased in pain and frequency. Before Loestrin 24 Fe, I was on the Depo shot for 6 months. I switched because I gained 30 pounds in 6 months."

For Endometriosis "I've been put on Loestrin 20 now for so far 3 weeks. I've two days left of the first pack! My experience already has mostly been positive. I've had less cramping after my last period as I started it on the first day of my cycle. I'm able to go to the bathroom more frequently as I would have gotten backed up at certain times in the month with m.c. and ovulation. My breasts have filled out, lol. I'm only a size 8 and have a small bust, and my skin has cleared on my face. I do suffer with endo, and my doctor put me on this as a last resort basically. I've spotted throughout the month, but I did anyways, so don't know if I can blame it on this. She did advise me that different positions during intercourse can help and not flare the endo up, which bothered me."

For Birth Control "The first two weeks I did have heavy spotting and slight nausea, which went away before the first month was over. It cleared my face from acne, I didn't have much to begin with. And I gained no weight at all and no bloating. I honestly love this birth control. I asked my doctor for a low hormone pill, and this is what he prescribed. I'm very happy with it, I will not be switching any time soon. I plan on keeping it for sure!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm 16 and just finished my first pack. I'm on it because I've had the worst experience with periods ever since I was 13. Periods lasting 9-16 days, heaviest bleeding I've ever seen, and cramps so bad I wouldn't be able to go to school. Since I started, I noticed a few changes in the first month-my face is more clear, I feel refreshed, and my breasts grew. Not sure if that's normal, but I'm not going to complain. But I've also got some weird experiences too-WILD mood swings, I have spotted once, but that's to be expected for the first few months. I just got to the 1st inactive pill and don't know what to expect. I hope my period lasts for how long most people are saying. Wish me luck."

"Take it with food in your stomach and at night! It helps the nausea, and you sleep through side effects! When I do not have food in my stomach, I get nauseous, but it's not super bad! I have just finished my first month, and no noticeable weight gain or anything I hate about it. No lowered sex drive and nothing that I really hate about it! At first, my period got heavier, and I spotted for what seemed like forever; but it wasn't a big deal! So far, I like it; it's expensive, but as of now, it's worth it. Little breakout on chin, but it's clearing up fine! I wanted to tell everyone because there are so many bad reviews. I take it at 9 pm, a couple of hours after dinner, a couple of hours before bed. I recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "I'm 19, and I've been taking Loestrin 24 Fe for about 4 years. When I started taking the birth control, I did have some crappy side effects, such as bloating, weight gain, and a lot of spotting to a flow like a regular period, but it went away after 2 months of using it. I do only have my period every 2 to 3 months for a week, but it definitely beats having it every 3 to 4 months very heavily for almost the entire month. The only things I'm not all that happy about are the mood swings that never went away, I do still have them, but I can control it and they're not nearly as crazy as they used to be. And recently, my breasts sank about a cup size. I don't know if it's because of taking the birth control for so long or not."

For Birth Control "I heard a lot of horror stories about this medicine, but, though I realize I'm only on my second pack, I'm happy to say the side effects are bearable. The first month I was really nauseous a lot, and I spotted blood every single day for a month. That, admittedly, was annoying. But it's better than a lot of what I was hearing. Aside from maybe being a tiny bit more prone to crying, I've not had mood swings, anxiety, depression, or unreasonable anger. I haven't gained tremendous weight, though my breasts have gotten HUGE. Husband isn't complaining. They're still sore often, but nothing terrible. Overall, I'd recommend it. I still don't totally trust birth control pills, but this one is bearable."

For Birth Control "Prior to Loestrin 24, I used the NuvaRing for about six years. Towards the end, I started noticing weight gain, crazy moods, etc. I stopped using birth control for about 7 months. Now I'm using Loestrin 24, this is the beginning of my second week on it. So far, I've experienced massive bloating, nausea, very tender breasts, headaches, and mild spotting. I have not had my period. I'm a week late, so I'm hoping it comes soon. I have noticed my face has cleared up a lot, so that's a plus."

For Birth Control "I started using the birth control Loestrin about a month ago and have finished the first cycle. I was concerned with trying it, having read mixed reviews about the pill, and figured I'd put in my experience. I'm 21 years old and have never taken any form of birth control before this one. The only symptoms I have experienced were some spotting. So far, I haven't had any mood swings, headaches, nausea, etc. I like this birth control, and so far I plan on sticking with it. It's always important to remember that everyone will have different experiences with medicines and find the one that works for you."

For Birth Control "I have had awful headaches, severe mood swings, spotting every two weeks off and on, and horrible cystic acne. I've really had many acne problems, and within a few weeks of taking this birth control, I had huge cysts of acne (two on my face and one on my chest). In case you don't know, cystic acne is basically a huge oversized painful pimple that can take up to six months to go away. Only one on my face has just recently gone down. I'm sick and nauseated all of the time, and since I spot every now and then, I couldn't tell if I missed a period or not!"

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old and have been on this pill for about 3 years. When I was 15, I had a 25-pound ovarian cyst (about the size of a football), making me look pregnant during my freshman year of high school. After getting it removed, I tried all sorts of birth controls, everyone causing more problems than it was worth. After starting this one, I have not had any problems really. My periods are light and short. I could do without the cramping and bloating, but that's the life of a woman, I guess. This time around, though, I am a little worried as I experienced spotting the whole week before my period and now nothing during it. Hopefully, I'll get it soon!"

"I have tried one other type of birth control, and it didn't work, and I have been on Loestrin for almost 2 months, and I have mixed feelings on it. I do get spotting and minor cramps throughout the entire month. I got very sick when I started to take it, so I lost a bit of weight. But it has made me very tired and very hungry, although I haven't actually gained any weight. I am a teen who has had VERY bad cramps and VERY heavy bleeding, and while it helps with the bleeding, the cramps aren't much better. It is most definitely a pill that you have to take at the same time every day. No waiting 10-20 minutes because you will have spotting."

For Birth Control "I have been on this medicine for over three years now, same time every day. I did not gain any weight due to the medicine. I loved that I no longer had periods, especially living near the beach. However, I have just started spotting virtually every day and having cramps. I have real bad periods off of the pills, but I am considering going without pills again."

For Birth Control "I started taking Loestrin after I had 3 ovarian cysts burst. I also had irregular periods, those were a pain. I started it in the summer, and when I did, I began not feeling good. I would have to wake up, hop out of bed, and eat right away, and it didn't always work too well. In October, I went to the doctor after I had severe stomach burning, and I found out I had acid reflux. I began then taking 1 Prilosec a day for a couple of months. Then I switched to generic Prilosec, and my pain came back. So, I took two a day. When that didn't help, I then switched back to Prilosec after a couple months and took two a day also. My pain has been okay, I frequently take Tums to help. Other than that and some spotting when I missed a pill one time, this works."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for about a year and was always concerned about not having a period. My husband and I tried just using condoms for a while, but after a few months, I decided I needed to go back on some form of oral birth control. My doctor suggested TriNessa, which has a higher dose of hormones, so I will have my period each month. After only a month of that, I have noticed extreme anxiety and mood swings, random spotting, loss of libido, and nausea. I know it takes a while to get into my system, but I've already gained 10 pounds. Next month, I'll be switching back to Loestrin. I had no side effects and no weight gain when taking it, other than not having a period, after being assured by my doctor it is safe and normal. I'll go back to Loestrin."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for almost 2 months, being the first pill I've ever tried. I have no complaints about the effectiveness, when taken at the same time every day, give or take 5 or 10 minutes, it prevents pregnancy. However, I've unfortunately suffered the side effects. The first month I was spotting for about 2 weeks until my period, which thankfully was now only 2 days long versus my previous heavy 5 to 7 days I normally had. I had intense headaches, nausea, and occasional mood swings. Another side effect that wasn't common (as far as I can see from these reviews, yet still possible) is vaginal itching in this second month. It is bothersome. Yet, these side effects seem to be diminishing. I'm not complaining, this is just my body getting used to it."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for a month now. I started using it about 2 months after I had my baby. So far, it's a good birth control, the only thing I'll say is I used to have a period for 7 days. Since I have been on the pill, my last period lasted for 2 weeks. Then, 2 days later, it came back on, and I have been spotting ever since then. The other side effect: I'm moody and have no sex drive."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 2 months now. It's been great so far. I've had spotting, and my breasts hurt sometimes, but that's the only negative thing. And I do agree with some people, my periods are so light, I wonder if I'm even on it. Overall, I love it, and it didn't give me horrible mood swings like other pills."

For Birth Control "I have been on 5 birth control pills in the past 6 years, and Loestrin 24 is by far the best. I was taking Loestrin, but a different dosage and liked it. I switched to Yaz because it was cheaper. I already didn't like Yaz, and that's when my insurance company switched me to the generic Ocella... horrible life decision. I had horrible mood swings and pretty much had no control over my anger. My boyfriend and I both recognized that there was a major problem and went back to my doctor, who was able to put me back on Loestrin, but this time the Loestrin 24. It has been a Godsend. I had spotting and bleeding for about 3 weeks, and now, barely anything. No complaints, and I'm sure my boyfriend (now fiancé) appreciates it too."

For Birth Control "19 years old. First birth control pill I've tried. I've been taking Loestrin for 8 months now, and it is GREAT. Decreased my sex drive slightly, and I get random periods/spotting or nothing at all. Was very emotional the first 2 months, but that problem faded out. Definitely recommended."

For Birth Control "Like a few other people here, I have only been on this pill for 2 months. I started using it because of my irregular cycle. I was a bit scared to start it because of some reviews I was reading, about it making people crazy, emotional, and anxious, but decided that everyone responds differently to different pills, and I gave it a shot. I take it at night because I wanted to try to avoid nausea. I still feel a bit nauseous when I wake up for the few days after I restart the placebo. Like it did for others, my breasts got bigger and constantly feel sore. Also, I do have spotting, though I'm not sure if it's because I'm not always exactly on time when taking the pill (an hour or 2 off). Overall, I like it, but I'm annoyed with the spotting."
