For Birth Control "I LOVE THIS! I have been on 2 other types of birth control before Loestrin, and they both made me a crazy person! I don't have any mood swings and haven't gained any weight, in fact, I've lost weight! The only negative thing I have to say is I'm pretty sure that it made my breasts bigger, but hubby isn't complaining. It can be pricey if you don't have insurance, but for me, it's worth it because I have zero side effects. The first month I had spotting, and now I get my period every month, it's very light and lasts 2-3 days. It's best to remember that every birth control is different for each individual. I was skeptical about trying Loestrin 24 when I read the reviews, but I tried it anyway, and I don't regret it!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm 22 and have only been on Loestrin 24 for 5 months. I started taking it because I was having severely irregular periods, and the first two months this pill did not help change that. My doctor told me to wait it out through month 3, which I did, and I'm so glad about it. I absolutely LOVE this pill. I'm more emotional, but like most things in life, I do have some control over how my reactions are, so I can't blame everything on the pill. I have cyclical depression, but this pill has no real effect on it or my anxiety, so I'm lucky. No acne, no weight gain, but I did get a little (though not needed, haha!) boost in cup size. Overall, I recommend this pill to all my friends and everyone who's looking for good birth control."

For Acne "This birth control pill has negatively impacted my life. I am currently suffering from cystic acne, constant bloating, depression, and mood swings. My appetite has increased, but the most notable thing is just how badly I feel. I've been on this pill for 4 months. My hope was that everything would balance out, but it still has not, and it literally feels like this pill is killing me."

For Birth Control "I am 22 years old, and this is the first time I've been on a BC. After reading all the bad reviews, I wanted to make sure that there is at least a good one. Everyone's body is different and reacts differently. So don't let scary reviews scare you away. Try it for yourself, and if you don't like it, you can always find something that you do like. I have been on this BC for 3 weeks going on 4, and I love it so far! No spotting, mood swings, headaches, depression, and my skin is clearer than before. I have also noticed my boobs are getting bigger, they're a little sore but not bad. So far, I'd say it's a good experience."

For Birth Control "Alright, so I've been taking this for a month, and I was stoked about it at first because I love taking birth control, until going on 3 weeks later and I am still on my period. I've had really bad constant mood swings, high anxiety, and extremely high depression. I thought that it was normal me being me, and I thought that the period was just all me. I was trying to keep all negative thoughts out of my head because before I started taking this, I was fine. No anxiety, no depression, 6-day-long periods, and my anger was controlled. I read the reviews, and now I know what all of this is from, so I thank everyone for the reviews! I am quitting this immediately and switching to a different one."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 7 months now, and everything was fine until the 5th month. I've had dark spotting, bad cramps, and cystic acne on my back. Has made me feel anxious and hungry almost all the time, have gained weight, bad cramps, and the worst part is I have my period every 2 weeks for about 5 days, and it is heavy. I feel depressed, have mood swings, and some hair loss. Doctor has switched me to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and I will see how that goes."

For Acne "Within the first month, I started getting incredibly emotional, moody, breast tenderness, and spotting. Not to mention, my acne is out of control. I usually get only one or two pimples, but now have seven huge ones on my face. Switching to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo... hope it makes my acne better."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this pill on two separate occasions, and both times have been exactly the same, but I am still on it. The routine for this pill is: the first 3 months you gain weight, and it is impossible to get it off. In that time, don't even try, it won't happen, it's stuck there until after the three months. Then if you try, it will start to fall off again. If you don't take this pill at the same time every day, you will get some breakthrough bleeding, but nothing too crazy, just some spotting. Sometimes I think it has made me more emotional, but who knows. Sex drive is way up, really light periods. Scary sometimes, you don't know if you are pregnant, not a bad birth control."

For Acne "When I first went on this birth control about 2 years ago (in hopes of curing my migraines my doctor thought may be hormonal and fixing moderate acne), I went absolutely crazy. It made me have HORRIBLE mood swings, and I found myself in a terrible mood all the time for no reason (crying about stuff I never cried about, snapping at people, etc.). I had never been that way before this pill. My first period on this pill was ROUGH, I was extremely depressed and emotional and just wanted to cry in bed. The pill did seem to help with my headaches, although it never helped at all with my skin. It made my periods way lighter and less painful, which was a perk. My advice is to stick with this medicine for a long time and wait out the pain."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was put on Loestrin 24 because of abnormal periods after having my daughters. I did not experience any changes in mood (which is a first for me on birth control). My cup size increased during the first month and has stayed that size. The only negative side effect is that I developed two dark spots (melasma) above my upper lip, which worsens with exposure to the sun. As long as I use sunblock, it is not getting worse, but it does make me self-conscious. Other than that, the pills are regulating me and effective birth control."

For Menstrual Disorders "I've been on this pill since summer 2007 (three years) for extreme menstrual cramps and bleeding (I spent roughly 16 hours passed out from pain for two days every month and bled for 7-10 days straight. I used so many OTC pain killers that they all ceased to work for me). My experiences with this pill: - No weight gain noticed. Lost pre-pill weight by exercising. - Little to no pain compared to before (1-2 pain pills for the worst two days for about every 3rd period) - Little to no bleeding (I went from super heavy pads to the lightest pads on the market or just dark colored underwear on my heaviest days. Some months, I just don't bleed) - No extra mood swings (and fewer mood swings during my period) - Acne is the same (not better, not worse)"

"I was on Loestrin 24 Fe for about 3 months. I just stopped taking it, didn't even finish the pack. I noticed I was eating a lot more, constant appetite. I stepped on the scale to see I've gained about 20 lbs, never before had I eaten like that. My breasts, as well, got noticeably bigger. My emotions were up and down, horrible mood swings and depression as well. I would have no cramping, barely any bleeding, which was great since I was used to such bad cramping and heavy periods. I've been off for about 4 days now, and I just got my period, and the terrible cramps have started."

For Birth Control "I never got pregnant taking Loestrin 24 Fe, so it was successful at doing its job, however, there were a few side effects. I actually lost weight while taking it, since that was my aim. But, it did make me very emotional and very sexually interested. Also, I spot-bled throughout the entire month. I would typically just wear a panty liner every day, kind of annoying. That's why I give it a 7/10, it was effective at doing what it was supposed to do, but it certainly did not improve the overall quality of my life."

For Birth Control "I was on LoLoestrin for 3 years and finally discontinued it in June 2018. The entire time I was on it, I noticed a lot of mood swings and anxiety but didn’t really think much of it for the first 2 years. Then, within the last year, it started to get worse and worse, I was crying all of the time, constantly sad, and arguing with my husband a lot! I had turned into someone that I was not, and I started thinking about what could be causing this!? I decided to stop the pills, and I’m starting to feel like myself again! The mood swings and sadness gradually stopped! I know these pills affect everyone differently, but unfortunately this one was not the one for me. I’m trying an IUD next, so we will see how that goes!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for almost 4 years. It was my favorite out of all the birth controls I tried until this year. I am 5'6-5'7 and have always been about 125-130 pounds. I am now about 150-160 pounds, I skipped a period two months ago and got this month's period late. I am not pregnant. I will randomly feel sick and depressed. I have lost my sex drive, and my boobs will hurt. I have extreme cramps and find myself experiencing tons of mood swings. I think it is time to switch to something else."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin 24 for 10 months now, and my periods haven't been longer than 3 days. The third month, my period was really heavy, and I had bad cramps. As far as birth control, I haven't been having sex, and I never had bad acne to begin with. Overall, I've had a moderate experience. I take the pill in the morning, and it does make me nauseous. I also am very depressed on it and experience crazy mood swings. I spend at least one day out of the month crying, and the littlest thing will ruin my mood or make me want to cry. My mom and sister talk about how I have multiple personalities because my mood is so unpredictable."

For Acne "Update from spookyblack: I forgot to mention the terrible nightmares I have been having. They are really messed up, and there is breakthrough bleeding. This pill has made me super tired, depressed, and has gnarly mood swings. I have been eating a lot and have gained a lot of weight. Great, just in time for summer, right? I have felt the worst about myself and my looks ever since I started this pill. Please don't do this to yourself, and not to mention the nasty acne I, and so many girls, have experienced."

For Birth Control "I started Loestrin 24 to regulate my periods. But I didn't like being on the pill, I gained weight, had mood swings, and lost my sex drive. I always felt bloated, and it was so uncomfortable. The only good thing that came from taking this pill was that after I stopped taking it, my periods stayed consistent."

For Menstrual Disorders "I started taking Loestrin Fe in June 2016 due to heavy menstrual bleeding and debilitating pain. I had gastric bypass surgery and found my periods got worse. My GYN provider recommended this pill. The first few months were very difficult due to mood swings, daily spotting, and painful cramps. There were times I wanted to stop the pill, but I stayed on it. About 4-5 months later, I noticed things were a bit better. My periods are much lighter, and the cramps are more tolerable. I am not laid up and overly cranky the week before my period like before. Instead of getting my period once every 2 weeks, it seems to be moving towards 3-4. For reference, I am 38, not sexually active, and do not have children. Hopefully, things will get even better."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for about a year now. During the first week, I was definitely a moody brat, but since then, I am a changed woman!! I used to have terrible cramping, to the point where I would pass out from the pain. Since being on this pill, I haven't had cramps or a period in months. I was hesitant at first, but it has changed my life! I didn't have any weight gain or loss or other side effects besides the mood swings. I unfortunately have to switch, as it has cost me too much each month! Highly recommend!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 4 months now, and it's great. My period lasts only like 3 days on the sugar pills, experience barely any cramping. The only downside for my body was that this pill makes you spot on and off, so I keep having to wear a panty liner, and it makes me really emotional, like I cry over everything, and I was never that sensitive. I haven't gained that much weight, but I will say it makes me have an appetite like a man! It cleared up my acne too. I do recommend this pill."

For Acne "My gynecologist gave me this pill to 'regulate my hormones (periods),' and it was the worst decision ever. I ended up quitting the pill after I reached a month because it gave me THE WORST ACNE OF MY LIFE (which I'm still suffering from a month after quitting), mood swings, depression, and HORRIBLE BLOATING! And I have suffered from acne all my teen years (17 now), but it was regular hormonal kind of acne I would get during that time of the month. I actually had pretty bad acne ear. But the acne I have now is on a whole other level. And to top it all off, the pill didn't even do what it was supposed to do. I didn't get my period while on this pill, and now I have a regular period again. I wish I would've never taken this pill!!!!!"

For Acne "This is the worst birth control I have been on. I would not recommend this birth control to my worst enemy. I was on it for 3 months and had the worst mood swings, depression, and worst acne that I still suffer from even after 2 months of being off it. I never usually write reviews online, but knew I had to warn anybody thinking about going on this product. I had such a clear face before I began this birth control, a few minor zits during my period, but that's normal for anybody, but after this, I still have red cystic acne... it's horrible. I used to be able to wear no makeup, now I can't even leave the house without makeup because I'm too self-conscious of my acne. DO NOT GO ON THIS BIRTH CONTROL."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking the pill at the end of October, I am now on my third week of Loestrin. At first, I had minor cramps and breast tenderness, which I ignored. Slowly, the pill started giving me worse side effects. I gained weight, have major cramps, and have been on my period for two weeks. My normal period lasts 3-4 days. I am not even on the placebo pills yet. I also have major mood swings."
