For Birth Control "I took this pill for just over two weeks. I had never been on the pill before - I always did the depo shot, so this was a whole new experience at 36 years old! I was prepared for side effects, and the first week of use, I had some headaches, slight nausea, and pretty strong cramping. The second week brought on crazy mood swings, and that is actually what made me stop. I've been off the pill for 5 days now and slowly feel like I am myself again. I would have had no problem hanging in there with the other side effects, but I became someone I didn't like (or my husband and friends) for that last week on the pill. I had no patience for anyone or anything, I was angry at everything."

"I am 19 years old, I have never tried any birth control methods, except condoms. I recently decided to try birth control pills. My doctor recommended Loestrin 24 Fe. So far, I am on my first week. I have to admit that in the first 3 days, I felt a slight fever, headaches, and fatigue, and the weirdest thing was this nervousness tingling. I couldn't sleep. Yet, I still decided to keep taking it. By the fourth day, all the side effects were gone, and now I feel better. My skin has improved that fast."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for almost 2 months, being the first pill I've ever tried. I have no complaints about the effectiveness, when taken at the same time every day, give or take 5 or 10 minutes, it prevents pregnancy. However, I've unfortunately suffered the side effects. The first month I was spotting for about 2 weeks until my period, which thankfully was now only 2 days long versus my previous heavy 5 to 7 days I normally had. I had intense headaches, nausea, and occasional mood swings. Another side effect that wasn't common (as far as I can see from these reviews, yet still possible) is vaginal itching in this second month. It is bothersome. Yet, these side effects seem to be diminishing. I'm not complaining, this is just my body getting used to it."

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm starting my 2nd month of this birth control, so it's not quite enough time to determine if it's amazing yet or not. However, the first month is usually the worst. I was on Ortho Evra for almost a month when I began experiencing horrible side effects, and so my doctor switched me to Loestrin 24 Fe. The main reason I'm taking it is because I have very heavy periods that last for 7 days, which leads to extreme cramps and nausea, as well as feeling faint. The first month taking this went extremely well. I didn't have any spotting, my period started as soon as I took the brown pills and ended once I took the white pill again. Side effects: headache, nausea, moodiness, bloating, diarrhea."

For Birth Control "Due to my highly irregular and heavy periods, my doctor prescribed Loestrin 24 Fe. I'm only on my 2nd week, so some side effects right now are slight nausea, headaches, and some light bleeding. They're not unbearable either, very tolerable. I'm off to a good start with this pill, it has actually already started to clear up my skin a little, and so far I've experienced no other changes like mood swings, bloating, weight gain, etc. But I'll have to wait and see, I guess. So far though, I really like it."

"I have gone through my first pack of Loestrin 24 Fe and love it. I have finally got my body back to what it was before I started trying birth controls. I went on it to get rid of my headaches and fatigue, which it did, but I waited on my period this month, and it didn't come. I was scared, did the whole come up with a plan, and break the scary news to my boyfriend. We took a test, and it came out negative, thankfully, but would have rather had my period than this trust that I am safe because I took the pill every day. I guess I will buy a pregnancy test than tampons from now on because the pill has been great and I don't feel like a crazy moody girl anymore, except for two days out of the month."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for 1 1/3 months (switched from Depo Shot), and I'm not sure I like this. When I started, just 9 days in, I got my period, and at the end of the pack, I didn't get a period. Now I'm on week 3 of my second pack and no period like last month. So I'm a little worried, and I get headaches a lot, and my breasts hurt (this just started a week ago). If by the end of this pack I don't get my period, then I'm going to the doctor."

"As far as effectiveness, this pill works great. I have had unprotected sex with my boyfriend many times, and I have never been pregnant. The periods were light and short-sometimes they were so light it made me nervous that it wasn't even a real period and that I was pregnant. However, my side effects have been bad. I have headaches and especially dizziness. I am in the process of switching. Overall, though, the effectiveness of the pill for pregnancy is great."

For Birth Control "I have done a month of this birth control. I am okay with taking the pill, but something like a NuvaRing or the Implanon would be easier for me. But this pill made me sick when I missed a day and took two, so I took some Tylenol for my horrible headache (I believe that was also from Loestrin 24). I haven't had any noticeable weight gain. I also have no other complaints other than the mood swings I had been throwing at my boyfriend and my family. My doctor switched me to Lo Loestrin because it is a lower dose. We will see how that goes, and I'll make sure I leave a review with all that I try. Thanks for all the reviews I have read!"

For Birth Control "I tried Ortho Tri-Cyclen about a year ago and had to stop the pill within a week due to the horrible symptoms. I decided to give birth control another shot and went on Loestrin 24 Fe in November of 2011. The side effects have been mild, so I've remained on it since and plan to continue using it. I did have stomach discomfort, headaches, and a few other symptoms that subsided within the first few weeks. In the beginning months, I would get my period if I did not take the pill literally at the same exact time every day. If I was 5 minutes late, I could expect a present the next day. That was kind of annoying, but the periods were pretty light, so it wasn't anything worth stopping the pill over. A few months ago, my periods have stopped altogether."

For Birth Control "I've been on Loestrin for quite a few months now, and it started off fine. I only had slight headaches. Now I've been getting my period every other week for the past 7 weeks."
