For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 2 years. Great experience, love the size of the pills. I have 2 - 3 period days. Really minor cramps (when my period is about to come). The big difference is that my breasts grew a cup or so (I love it, since my breasts are small). No mood swings, appetite normal, no headaches or bad side effects. Definitely recommended."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I just recently was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and my doctor put me on Loestrin 23 Fe. The first month was fine, just a little tenderness of my breast, but the second month was terrible. I have horrible acne, mood swings all the time, I have terrible cramps, headaches, and I always feel nauseous. I will be going on a new pill as soon as possible."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Loestrin 24 for a while. I am coming off of it because it causes me to have very bad headaches and spotting a lot. Sometimes with this pill, I have my period every two weeks. It does help me with my cramps a lot. It's like I got rid of one pain and got another. The headaches from this medicine are unbearable at times."

For Birth Control "Only took it for 14 days before side effects caused me to discontinue. Started having horrible headaches, insomnia, some night sweats, nervousness, gas, nausea, diarrhea. Never had this cluster of problems simultaneously until I began this medication 2 weeks ago. I don't plan on using any other hormone for birth control."

For Birth Control "I did a lot of research and asked my doctor to put me on Loestrin, being that it had a lower estrogen dosage. I started taking it before I went to bed every night, as instructed by my doctor, so as to sleep off some of the initial side effects. I had some small headaches week 1, but other than that, I've loved this medication! The only issue was that I had some mild spotting about a week before my placebo pills for the first two packs. Lighter, shorter periods, smoother skin, and NO CRAMPS! Love this pill."

For Birth Control "I'm 20 years old, and this is my first birth control pill. I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about a month and a half now. I absolutely love it. I did not have any nausea or headaches whatsoever. I haven't gained any weight, as a matter of fact, I lost weight while on this pill. I lost about 6 lbs! My acne is almost gone, and I had terrible acne. Also, my sex drive has stayed the same. I know many women are worried about that. The only negative was during the second week of taking the pill, I was bleeding for a week and a half. It was light, but it was still annoying to deal with. But when my actual period came, it was on time and only lasted about 3 days. Overall, I love this pill, and I would like to stick with it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin for about a week. The only side effects I've had have been irritability/mood swings and anxiety after taking the pill. I also noticed an increase in sexual desire, but less of an ability to obtain orgasms. In addition, just mild headaches. However, I'm ECSTATIC that I have not experienced any bloating or weight gain the first few days of taking the pill. When on Yaz and Yasmin, I experienced that immediately, almost with an addition of 8 lbs weight gain. I've been able to actually lose weight in the last week, and my desire to exercise still exists. On Yaz/Yasmin, I was so relaxed - which was great. However, I felt more lazy and was not as motivated to exercise. So far, I would choose Loestrin over all!"

For Birth Control "I took this medicine for about 9 months for perimenopausal symptoms and birth control since I am still fertile in my late 40s. This took about 3 months to acclimate to. Had the mood swings, nausea, and headaches in the first couple of months. Then it worked quite well and actually improved my sleep, which wasn't doing so well pre-birth control. However, the biggest factor making me discontinue use of this drug was a big raise in my blood pressure! I am a non-smoker and a bit overweight but have always had very low blood pressure. After 8-9 months on this, my blood pressure was high. I've been off this for a few weeks, and the top reading on my blood pressure has dropped into the 140s from the 160s I was peaking at. Still, I've always had around 110 or so before taking Loestrin 24."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I took this birth control for about 10 months and stopped when I saw I was developing varicose veins on my thighs. I was only 19 years old at the time! I was always a chronic sufferer of severe headaches when I was in high school, but I had a period of about two years without having headaches. As soon as I got on this pill, I had severe headaches every single week! I also gained some weight."

"I'm nineteen, and this is my first time on birth control. I'm NOT having a good experience at all. I have been bleeding for fifteen days straight. I'm always dizzy and have constant headaches. I'm always depressed, and the breast tenderness is non-stop. I think I'll be coming OFF it."

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old, and this is my fourth birth control. I have had problems with ovarian cysts since I was 14, so my doctor put me on birth control to help with the pain and cramping every month. I am going into my second month on Loestrin, and so far I love it. I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Yaz, and Necon, and they all made me depressed, with horrible mood swings (always angry at the world), weight gain, and did not help with the acne. I know it's only been a month, but I have experienced mild headaches, breast tenderness, but they have grown, and I love it (I was not blessed with breasts), and mild cramping. My periods in the past lasted 5-7 days, but with this it has lasted only 4. I will definitely give this a shot, seeing as it's my last resort."

For Birth Control "I'm 31. Just finished the 3rd month of Loestrin. Severely tender breasts 3 weeks out of the month. Major mood swings and depression during the 3rd week of the month. Headaches got worse over the course of 3 months. Tiny bit of weight gain, no acne, and almost no period, they only last about 2 days. Doctor switched me to LoSeasonique because of the mood swings."

For Birth Control "I've only been on Loestrin for 2 days. The first day I had a terrible headache and had to call out of work due to stomach pain and lethargy [although I often feel stomach pain when I have a heavy period]. Last night I woke up at 2 a.m. in severe pain - I felt extremely nauseous, felt as if I needed to vomit and cry, but I could not cry. I felt extremely nervous and sick. I'm not even going to bother taking my third pill tonight. I've taken Yazmin and Ortho Tri before, and I never experienced such physical side effects. I'm going to call my doctor in the morning."

"I am fifteen years old and I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for six months. I am roughly 140 pounds, 5'6'', with no known history of women's problems. I am about to switch to Seasonique because I don't like my birth control. It was great at first with only a little spotting, which a panty liner was barely needed. It has made my cramps insufferable. All I want to do is lay down in a small ball in bed all day. It made my period a very dark color, and it doesn't start until the 3rd brown pill and ends on the 3rd white pill. I have always had a lot of headaches, and from taking this medicine, they have increased in pain and frequency. Before Loestrin 24 Fe, I was on the Depo shot for 6 months. I switched because I gained 30 pounds in 6 months."

For Menstrual Disorders "My doctor prescribed me Loestrin to help my painful menstrual cramps and heavy periods. The first month went well; a light period, no menstrual pain, and my skin started to look better. My second month, not so well. I am known to be the grounded, always positive, and level-headed person in my family. I became very emotional and started having really bad anxiety about 2 weeks into my second month. I started my period 9 days early; that's when I got a horrible pain in the back of my head that spread to the side and top of my head over a few days. I never get headaches. I had knots in the back of my head, shoulders, and lower back. Within days of stopping Loestrin, my anxiety disappeared, my headache is going away, and I'm not emotional anymore."

For Menstrual Disorders "Took this med for one full month and half of another and stopped using it. Headaches daily: pain at the top of my head and down my neck, mood swings, and anxiety like never before. Unable to lose weight. Just didn't like how it made me feel. For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 5 months, and I've had a great experience with it. I no longer get headaches before or during my period, which has happened with every other birth control. My period is much lighter, and my sex drive is still there. I had been on the ring prior, which was a complete nightmare. Loestrin 24 is much, much better than I had hoped for. My cup size went from a B to a C, but the downfall for me is the increased appetite. I have a petite frame, before I started the pill, I was 5'2 and about 115 lb. I'm now just under 125. I didn't mind because, like I said, I'm petite and on my frame it's almost unnoticeable. But if you are trying to lose weight, in my experience, it would be impossible on this pill!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin for 4 months now. I will admit the first month was kind of rough with the mood swings and headaches, but once my body got adjusted, it was perfectly fine. Like other women on here, I had horrible periods with PMS. Now I barely even notice cramping. It did add a lot to my bust, though, which I am not complaining about at all. I haven't noticed any other weight gain at all. All in all, after the adjustment period, I had no issues at all and also convinced a friend to switch as well, and she loves it."

For Birth Control "This has been one of the best birth control pills I have ever taken. I have a little breakthrough bleeding from time to time, but it is usually because I have taken the pill earlier in the day than normal or vice versa. When I take this pill around the same time every day, I do not have any breakthrough bleeding. Periods are light and average 3 days. My periods used to last 7 to 8 days and were very heavy. Bleeding is only heavy on day one. Some months I do not have a period. I did not have any issues with nausea or headaches. I did gain about 5 pounds. Cramps are minimal."

For Birth Control "I love it! This is the first form of birth control I've ever been on. My doctor prescribed it to me because of its low hormonal content, and it's been great! I started it on the first day of my period - cramps were pretty bad the first 2 days, worse than usual, and my period lasted about 9 days as opposed to my regular 4 or 5, and slight headaches for about a week, but no side effects at all after that! It's been great! Increased libido was just a little bonus. I was pretty skeptical at first because I read nothing but horror stories about it, but I'm so glad I tried it. The out-of-pocket cost is $45/month. A little steep, and there is no generic yet."

For Birth Control "Prior to Loestrin 24, I used the NuvaRing for about six years. Towards the end, I started noticing weight gain, crazy moods, etc. I stopped using birth control for about 7 months. Now I'm using Loestrin 24, this is the beginning of my second week on it. So far, I've experienced massive bloating, nausea, very tender breasts, headaches, and mild spotting. I have not had my period. I'm a week late, so I'm hoping it comes soon. I have noticed my face has cleared up a lot, so that's a plus."

For Birth Control "I'm 25 yrs old. I have been taking Loestrin 24 Fe for about 9 months now for ovarian cysts. I like it. I'm not as moody, the cycle only lasts for 4 days instead of 7 days. Breast size was C 34, now D 40. I haven't lost weight, still have headaches and nausea. This is my 9th month, I haven't started my cycle yet and I am 5 days late."

"I am a 17-year-old girl. I weigh 125 pounds, and am 5'5''. I have been on this medication for about 4 days now. I like it, but at the same time, I don't. This is the first birth control I have ever been on. So, I have been having mild nausea and headaches, but nothing else. I started this birth control with 4 days left in my period. It ended on time and was very light for the last day or two. I take it around bedtime, but since I get that sick feeling, it keeps me from falling asleep easily. But don't feel discouraged. Once I fall asleep, I am knocked out for the night. It's great, and then I wake up in the morning again and feel sick, but it should get better after month 3."

For Birth Control "I have had awful headaches, severe mood swings, spotting every two weeks off and on, and horrible cystic acne. I've really had many acne problems, and within a few weeks of taking this birth control, I had huge cysts of acne (two on my face and one on my chest). In case you don't know, cystic acne is basically a huge oversized painful pimple that can take up to six months to go away. Only one on my face has just recently gone down. I'm sick and nauseated all of the time, and since I spot every now and then, I couldn't tell if I missed a period or not!"

For Birth Control "I'm 17 years old and got started on birth control because my periods were 9 days long with severe side effects. I first went on the shot called Depo-Provera; that was the worst experience of my life. I was having my periods every single day. The doctors told me it was normal and it would regulate after my third shot; however, the 4th shot came and the same issues with no end in sight. Terrible cramps, headache, even vomiting. When my doctor switched me over to Loestrin, I had instant results. My period is now regulated to a 4-day cycle once a month. I do have cramps as a side effect, but they have gotten much better. Before Loestrin, I would curl up in a ball and cry from the severity of the cramps. I would recommend this birth control to anyone."
