For Birth Control "I have been on Aubra for 1 year. This is my 2nd form of BC. The 1st was Implanon, I had it for 2 months and couldn't deal with the spotting and crazy periods. I haven't noticed any HUGE side effects on Aubra, but there are some. I gained 10 lbs. My breasts feel sore the week before and the week of my period. I get minor mood swings and some depression, but nothing extreme. I break out a few days before my period, but I already had that problem prior to taking the pill. Sex drive remained as high as always. Headaches from time to time that I used to not get. No more severe cramps, and my period is light flow and it only lasts 3 to 4 days, it used to be heavy lasting 6 days. I am not pregnant so far, so it's worked. I have read it causes hyperpigmentation, which I have above my brow."

For Birth Control "I started taking this BC about 3 months ago. For the first 2 months, I had terrible headaches every morning. On the 3rd month, they subsided, so that's good. I've noticed that I have gained some weight (about 7 lbs), but after reading more on this, I'm hopeful that it might slow down. I haven't gotten pregnant, so I'm happy about that. Also, I've had some pretty bad breakouts. I've never had acne before, so it's been a little upsetting. I am going to stick with it for another 3 months or so to see if my body evens out a little."

For Birth Control "I'm on my third pack of Aubra, and so far it hasn't been well. I've been on one other OC pill, and this one was worse. I have experienced extremely painful cramps and weight gain. And my face (normally pretty clear) has broken out with so much acne, and I've experienced vaginal dryness. But I'm not pregnant, and it does its job. My period hasn't gotten lighter or heavier, so it's pretty normal. I'm debating just continuing this pill to see if my face clears up."

For Birth Control "I started this pill because for whatever reason, I had a menstrual period for over a month. This awful pill slowed it down, but I'm still bleeding, almost 2 months now. I have awful migraines, acne, gained weight, terrible mood swings, and the worst cramps. I need off this ASAP."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Aubra for almost two weeks now. I don't know how to feel about it. I started gaining weight like crazy. I feel like I'm starving 24/7, and I eat like crazy. I have mild headaches, and I get really moody. I'm always arguing with my bf over the smallest things. For Birth Control "This is the first birth control that I have tried. I have no problems with it at all. No weight gain, mild mood swings, helps with acne (keeps my skin super clear), although I'll get an occasional pimple here or there. PMS symptoms are very mild too. I would recommend if it's your first time on birth control, try it, and if you don't like it, move on to a different one."

But after using this form of BC for 3 years, I experienced horrible period-like cramps while on the active pills, mood swings, and a lack of sex drive. For Birth Control "This was my first BC, and I started taking it at 21 to prevent pregnancy. Been using it for 6 months and never had a scare. I had moderately bad acne before starting, and it reduced it quite a bit. My periods became extremely regular; 28-day cycles as opposed to 35-day ones I had prior. I didn’t gain any weight, but I noticed an increase of around one cup size. All in all, good BC, and I will continue using it."

For Birth Control "I haven't experienced too much of the side effects like weight gain, nausea, or anything. But I noticed that my eyes are really dry all the time when I started taking these, and I don't know if it's related for certain, but I've had contacts for two years, and this is the first time I've had this issue. I've had to switch to glasses as of late. Also, my depression has exponentially worsened. It feels like it hasn't, but I never cried much and have cried almost every day since I've taken these. I'm going through real things, but I used to handle them better. But I guess these symptoms are better than pregnancy, and I haven't gotten pregnant."

For Birth Control "I was never on any BC and decided to, and they gave me Aubra. The first couple of months I’d say were fine, then I started getting really bad mood swings. Mostly, it just makes me a really angry person. My poor boyfriend, haha. My period was also normal for the first couple of months, then I just started bleeding nonstop, even if it was light. I also have gained weight, and I feel like no matter what I eat, I'm still hungry. The only good thing I will say about this birth control is no babies, and my skin is really clear."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for almost a year, I have noticed my behavior towards my relationship. I tend to get emotional for no reason, cry all the time. My mood swings switch a lot, I lost my personality. I push people away and want to be alone. I have noticed I will get my period in the middle of the month when I’m not on my sugar week. I get bad cramps, I am now starting to gain 10 pounds more than what I weighed a year ago. I’m going to the doctor today and hope to get a different brand."

For Birth Control "The only good thing about this medication is that I'm not pregnant. I've been taking Aubra for about 3 months now, and the issues I was told would go away after the first pack are still truckin'. My period is nothing more than a day or two of spotting, which is pretty cool, but the constant moodiness and terrible nausea are not worth it. My relationship and health are suffering from this. I'm always feeling sick to my stomach, so I've only been eating healthier, simpler foods, but they still make me feel awful. I've been gaining weight, breaking out, and freaking out at my boyfriend, and having random bouts of depression that are usually controlled by other medication I take. Also, the IBS-like symptoms I have constantly throughout the month!!"

For Birth Control "I took this for a while. I skipped my period on this, but I started bleeding after a couple of months for more than a month of bleeding. I stopped taking it. Started it again, and I’ve had no complaints. The first week was rough since my body was getting used to it. I’m not good with birth control, but this one is the best one I’ve taken. I have had no weight gain, no headaches (I have frequent migraines usually). I think it helped so much with that. Mood swings stayed the same. If you’re thinking about taking this birth control, I’d say don’t skip your period with it."

For Birth Control "I didn't like taking Aubra. I had been using either Microgestin or Loestrin most of my life. My local PP stopped carrying both, so they put me on this. I have been slowly gaining weight and moody, my skin is terrible now. I found a birth control by mail that carries Microgestin for the same price I am paying for this, and I cannot wait to go back on it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aubra since I was 17. I am 23 now. This has been a good birth control for me in the beginning. I don't get mood swings, acne, cramps, or nausea. The only bad thing I feel like this BC did is make me gain weight. I have always been around 110 lb baseline, but the first 5 years it was fluctuating between 115-118 lb. This is my sixth year on Aubra and I am at my heaviest 128 lb, but I think it's also due to the pandemic and inactive lifestyle. I did notice my face is a lot more bloated too. I skipped my period for 10 months with two-month breaks in between. I think that might be contributing to the larger weight gain. I am going to get off for a while and see if anything changes. I like Aubra, but maybe just use it the way you're supposed to and skip every once in a while! Also, maybe the change from Aubra to Aubra EQ made a difference? Who knows. I will talk to my local PPH and see if they can get me on a different pill."

For Birth Control "I didn't get pregnant. That was the only positive on this pill: bad (the worst I've ever had) mood swings, no sex drive, spotting, and gaining weight to name a few. The first month was fine, the next few were awful to the point I was having mood swings and crying pretty well daily. Off it now and back to normal, a shame because for the first little while I thought it was good :("

For Birth Control "Well, I've been on this birth control pill for about a year now. When I first started this pill, I broke out really bad. Acne was horrible! My stomach hurt so bad from cramping. I felt nauseous a lot. About two weeks after starting the pill, my symptoms got better. Everything was normal. My cycle was lighter. Cleared acne. The only time I would get acne was close to my monthly cycle. The pill does work against pregnancy, which is great, but the emotions and weight gain are the bad parts about the pill. Within this year of being on this pill, I packed on at least 25 pounds. I'm thinking about switching off birth control completely, though. I'm always ready to cry about everything!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for a year and a couple of months now. Before I took the pill, I rode the train every day to work and school with no problems. Now I get sick and nauseous every time. I get very emotional about the simplest things. I cried on the train once because I got off at the wrong stop. On top of that, my period lasts 8 days, whereas they were lasting 3-5. I have the same amount of cramps. Breasts are very tender 2 days before my period. Acne seems like it's never going away. Weight gain. Bloating of stomach, kind of. I want to change pills but don't know what to switch to."

For Birth Control "I started taking birth control to see if it could help with my acne, I even told my doctor that I wanted to take birth control specifically so it would help with my acne. For me, preventing pregnancy was just a plus. There were a lot of bad side effects, such as weight gain, bloating, and sore breasts that lasted the entire cycle. In my second month of using this birth control, my skin broke out like never before. I stopped taking it, but I’m still dealing with the severe acne after two months off the pill. Worst mistake I made."

For Birth Control "I have been using Aubra for a little over a year. I tried the depo shot at first but it did not work for me. With this pill, the only thing I noticed was that my sex drive did decrease, but over time I feel like I wasn’t affected in that way anymore. I have gained weight, but with proper diet, it shouldn’t be a problem. I got my prescription from Planned Parenthood. Each pack is about $40. Depending on if there’s a donor, it can be $30. I just received a package today from the Pill Club, which I am very excited for. They carry Aubra, and for a 12-month supply plus all the other costs, I ended up paying about $75, which is a crazy steal. Do the math for buying individual packs for $40 each plus fees for consultation... hopefully the Pill Club works for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on Aubra for 6 months and have finally decided to go off birth control. The only pro on this birth control is not getting pregnant. Cons: no sex drive, horrible acne before my period, depression, weight gain. I was really hoping this birth control would work because I've had so many problems with other ones. But I can't take the side effects anymore."

For Birth Control "This is the first time using Aubra. I have taken the depo and seasonique before, and that worked great for me. But for some reason, when I got on Aubra, I felt so nauseous, and my first period was normal, but now at the end of my second pack, I haven't gotten my period yet. Which concerns me because my periods were never irregular. No acne, a little weight gain, but not getting my period makes me worried. I don't like this because too much and might consider switching. But I still have a pack left, so I'll finish it and see what will happen."
