For Birth Control "I loved it at first as my skin cleared up and I was feeling great. Now that I have been on it for over 6 months, I have zero sex drive at all, and I'm very moody, constantly hungry, my breasts decreased in size, and I get intense bouts of nausea."

For Birth Control "I started Aubra because I had severe cramps. The first few months had been really great and pain-free. My period became gradually more painful as I continued to take it. I had also gained over 35 pounds even though I worked out and ate well. My sex drive disappeared completely, and my period was so light it was barely there, but it was still really painful. My depression and anxiety had gotten so bad I had to leave my job because I was so anxious I could not work efficiently anymore. I felt like I wasn’t myself anymore, and it got to the point where I could no longer look in the mirror at my body anymore because of the weight gain. I’ve been off of it for two days, and I hope my life returns to normal."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Aubra for about 2 years, and I don’t love it or hate it. The good thing is that I’m not pregnant, and I haven’t gained any weight. I don’t work out much, and my diet is not that great, so that’s good news. The negative is that I rarely want to have sex. I thought it was just me, but after reading other reviews, I can see it’s not just me. I’m in a 3-year relationship, and I can tell my boyfriend gets upset about my low libido. I hate birth control in general, but I guess I gotta deal with it since I don’t want to get pregnant. (I only have unprotected sex, so it works!) What I’m sure of is I won’t go back to Depo, I HATED IT."

For Birth Control "I've been on Aubra and Aubra EQ for 1.5 years now. The first few months, I experienced intense sadness, but I'm not sure if that was an effect of the Aubra, a big emotional event that coincidentally happened as I was starting the drug, or if the drug magnified my feelings. My acne cleared up and I noticed I get especially flawless skin during my placebo week. My periods are now very rare, and when they do happen, it's short and not heavy. My libido has decreased and I have been drier during sex in general, but sometimes, it's not a problem. I have never experienced nausea or weight gain on this. I've been experiencing hair loss but have not confirmed that it's related to Aubra."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for about a year and a half, never had the bad side effects when I started it. My skin is a lot clearer than before with regular skin care. My sex drive is a little lower, but I can deal with that, and I have small amounts of anxiety, but also something I can manage. Never gained weight, never have mood swings, and no other real problems. Everyone has different reactions to all birth control, so you really won't know until you try it."

For Birth Control "It's great. I've been on Microgestin Fe 1/20 before, and I was a train wreck. But now my periods are controlled. They last only 5 days compared to the 1.5 weeks when I wasn't taking anything. I haven't gained weight like I did with the other one, and I am not so emotional. I feel normal, except my sex drive really lowered, and I get horrible cramps and bloating on my period, which I never got before. But I don't mind because I don't bleed as much."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for about 1 year and a half, and so far, it's been great! I've gained a little weight, which has given me curves, and my skin is flawless. I never get breakouts, and people always compliment my skin. Thank goodness, it's helped me not get pregnant. The only downside about this pill is I feel fatigued most of the time. I tend to get tired in the mid-afternoon, my libido has gone down, I tend to get yeast infections every few months, vaginal dryness as well, and sometimes I get angry over little things."

For Birth Control "I'm a 25-year-old woman, and I took Yasmin back home (I'm from Mexico) for six years, and it was amazing. I recently got married and moved to the U.S. and switched to Aubra (given to me by Planned Parenthood). I've been on Aubra for four months now, and I absolutely hate it. I broke out like crazy, my mood swings are just incredible, PMS is horrible, my sex drive is gone, and natural lubrication is a problem for me now. I never had any of these problems before, and there's no way I'm sticking to Aubra. Yes, it keeps me from getting pregnant, but the side effects are not worth it. I just got three boxes of Yasmin, and I'm waiting to finish my current Aubra box to switch back to Yasmin."

For Birth Control "I got prescribed 6 months of Aubra EQ by Planned Parenthood after I had been off the pill for a year. Almost immediately, this pill reduced my sex drive. I've always had a high libido, especially when off birth control. Aubra made me so dry and unable to get 'loose' during sex, I didn't really enjoy sex anymore (lube didn't even help), but not having sex can be the end of a relationship, so I powered through it and put up with the pain. I've always been quite thin, but I felt like Aubra stopped my appetite to the point where eating feels like a hassle and it's only done out of necessity. I feel like it made me kind of depressed, but nothing too extreme. I think I got used to being depressed after 3 months, and it was easier to manage. Overall, I wouldn't want to take it again."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this birth control for about 3 months and noticed I would be constantly anxious or depressed. I found myself without a drive to do anything, whether it be to have sex or simply go out. It also made sex painful when I would go dry while enjoying it. It did help with cramps and made my period lighter, except for my spotting about a week before. No pregnancies, and periods were better."

For Birth Control "I've tried other BCPs before this one, and they made me more emotional than this one. I would be hysterical, and with Aubra, I felt more like myself. It definitely had its cons, but the fact that it didn't give me emotional panic attacks like my previous BCPs, it wins. I really like this one. Pros: For me, less emotional and lighter periods. Effective in preventing pregnancy. Cons: Nausea, I was told to take my pills at night for this reason. And most nights, I don't feel this symptom. Less sex drive."

For Birth Control "I hate Aubra! It has been effective in preventing pregnancy, which is obviously the great part. However, my sex drive has drastically decreased, I've been cramping since week 2, I've been extremely emotional, and now I've been menstruating longer than usual (it has always been 3-4 days, now I'm on day 6). My appetite has definitely increased, especially closer to my menstruating. I'm just not enjoying this birth control at all! I will not be starting a new pack!"

For Birth Control "I gave it a 5 because it did its main job-- 8 months in and I'm not pregnant. Even with me taking it late a few times. Otherwise, I am not a fan. The first few months were okay, except lack of sex drive. Now I feel nausea, my boobs feel and look like they do during pregnancy, and it caused me to gain some weight. I want to switch, but they all kind of suck."

For Birth Control "I've been using this birth control pill for 2 months now. I got put on them to help with painful, heavy periods and other PMS symptoms. Well, I wanted to wait a while so I could see how my body would react to this birth control, and it hasn't been very good. I'm more depressed than ever, my libido is extremely low, and I barely climax. I cry all the time, and it's causing relationship issues. My boyfriend begs me to just throw my last pack away. It's just not compatible with me. Good luck to other users. I hope you ladies have better luck"

For Birth Control "Been on Aubra birth control pills for 6 months now, got over a year's worth from PP. I'm already an emotional person who suffers from depression, anxiety, and OCD, but after taking Aubra I felt like my emotional outbursts had gotten even worse. I couldn't be sure if it was Aubra or my own mental issues since I hadn't been on my meds for a while (problem with our insurance, long story), but after reading other reviews, I believe this made my pre-existing problem worse. Along with that, my sex drive went down the toilet. My boyfriend doesn't know it, but I've been faking it during sex because I'm afraid of making him feel self-conscious. It looks like that is an incredibly common side effect for others as well. But hey, I'm not pregnant (that I know of)."

For Birth Control "On a positive note, I'm not pregnant, and my face is clear of acne. But after using this form of BC for 3 years, I experienced horrible period-like cramps while on the active pills, mood swings, and a lack of sex drive. I also gained about 80 pounds, which is weird because I have a fairly healthy diet and am quite active."

For Birth Control "This was the first form of BC I have used, and it has been an awful experience for me. It has killed my sex drive (I’m 18), caused dryness, made my boobs smaller, and worst of all, worsened my depression, which has negatively affected my relationship, as if the others weren’t enough. The only reason I gave it a 1 rating is because I haven’t gotten pregnant. Not sure if I should just drop it or wait till I’m finished with this pack, but I am definitely switching soon."

For Birth Control "I haven't gotten pregnant after taking this for a year, and that is probably the only good thing I have to say about this. I am in my early 30s, and I now have acne again and absolutely no sex drive. It's to the point of ruining my relationship..."

For Birth Control "I switched over to this after having a pregnancy on my other pill. But I'm now 4-5 months in and my sex drive or desire is nonexistent completely. My acne is the same as it was, and my periods are rather light, which is not normal for me, and personally I don't like it because they don't feel regular anymore. I've had a hard time emotionally since I started this pill. I started it when a very emotionally traumatic event happened, so I'm not sure if it's the pill, but it has been a few months and I feel very eh most of the time still regardless of the event."

For Birth Control "I've been on Aubra for about six months. At first, I felt a lot of side effects like nausea, headaches, sore breasts, but also an oddly increased libido. My periods became light and only last a max of four days, which is a plus, as I used to regularly bleed through pads and tampons in a couple of hours. However, I have experienced random clusters of acne on my chin, forehead, and neck since taking the pill. Another upside/downside for me is the cramps. I used to have excruciating cramps during the week of my period, but now I have persistent cramps for one, sometimes two whole weeks before my period."

For Birth Control "Never had bad acne until taking Aubra. It is all over my chin and only lessens slightly during placebo week. I also noticed I have a lower libido and vaginal dryness. Other than that, it lightens my period, and it does what it's supposed to do."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for about a year and 5 months then my sex drive was no longer there. I could not get wet and I did not want to have sex at all. This was a big issue for me because sex is a big part of relationships. Aubra was good with periods and having them be light. I was already an emotional person, and this just made it worse."

For Birth Control "I didn't get pregnant. That was the only positive on this pill: bad (the worst I've ever had) mood swings, no sex drive, spotting, and gaining weight to name a few. The first month was fine, the next few were awful to the point I was having mood swings and crying pretty well daily. Off it now and back to normal, a shame because for the first little while I thought it was good :("
