For Birth Control "I decided to get on Ashlyna in April/May 2020 sometime. The only side effect I’m noticing is the aching pain in my thighs I would have when I have my cycle. I decided on Ashlyna to not worry about a cycle so much. I’ve always had cystic hormonal acne every now & then, and I’d say it’s not as bad but I do encounter a random break out. I’ve only missed one day whenever a pill went down the drain, and ended up having an “accident” so staying consistent helps."

For Birth Control "After getting my IUD removed I wanted to switch back to the pill due to complications. I didn’t get nausea with this pill like I have with others which was nice. It did cause me to gain about 15-20 pounds. I also had low sex drive with Ashlyna, being a young woman who had always had a very high sex drive it was really weird to me. I also got pretty bad acne with this pill, painful hard bumps. It did it’s job as far as preventing pregnancy but personally I didn’t like it due to side effects. Every woman is different it might be worth a try."

For Birth Control "The first two or three months I was fine using Ashlyna birth control. But Towards the end of my 3 month pack before I got to my placebo pills I got a brown menstrual cycle which I've never experienced before in my life. It went away for a week then when I started my next pack the brown menstrual cycle started literally a couple hours after I took the pill. After that I have had a brown menstrual cycle 24/7 everyday with some clotting for going on 6 weeks now. Yes you read it correctly I've had a brown menstrual cycle flowing every single day 24/7 for 6 weeks something is wrong with that and has put a damper on my sex life and I've been breaking out with little bumps on my forehead and the sides of my cheeks. My doctor told me to just go straight to the placebo pills then a new brand of birth control that has less estrogen in it. Instead I stopped taking Ashlyna altogether as I don't want any more harm being done to my body. I do NOT recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I'm a 31 yr old female who started this bc mainly for easier periods as my tubes are tied. My periods are so heavy that I bleed through a thick pad and super or ultra tampon every hour. At first Ashlyna seemed ok. Well now I'm on my third package set of it and today is the day I quit these pills! With my first pack I bled the whole damn time. My period "placebo" week was horrific, more than my normal horrible periods. I ended up going to the ER because I bled through over 80 tampons in a week. One week. And I was clotting so bad. My gyn said hang on it'll get better. Well after 6 months of being on it and literally only having one week of no spotting the entire time I'm done! Here are the side effects that happened to me: weight gain of at least 15 lbs in 6 months. Always exhausted. No sex drive. I also have never had a yeast infection or bacterial infection until being on this medicine. Everyone gets affected differently so this is just my experience."

For Birth Control "I’m not sure if it’s related to this drug but as soon as I started it I’ve had awful fainting spells. I’m constantly afraid of passing out unexpectedly. I’ve also been really bloated and my acne is terrible"

For Birth Control "This birth control is horrible . I was only taking it for 3 weeks and my period came right back and it's heavier than it normally is . Like way heavier and usually my periods are light. I hate this birth control I hate it ! Not only that my cramps are way worse too . Preventing me to be able to get up for school or work . "

For Birth Control "I started this pill just about three weeks ago. I switched from Estarylla in order to skip my periods. I had some break through bleeding (more like spotting) for the first week which was annoying, but after reading other reviews seems normal for being new to the pill. I have definitely noticed mood differences (sadness and overall moodiness) but nothing out of the ordinary for getting used to a new pill. Be weary of nausea the first few weeks, I was near vomiting almost every night the first week but it has since gone away. Aside from these side effects which honestly haven't impacted my life that much this pill has been working great! Most of the side effects feel like they're starting to wear off as my body adapts to the new pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 5 and 1/2 months. The first pack was alright, I had a little breakthrough bleeding for about a week but it stopped and then I had a very nice and light period when it came to the end of the pack. However, since I have started my 2nd pack, I have been on my period nonstop since week 4... it is now week 11. Another fun side effect I found is that I have gained a ton of weight. Needless to say, I'm switching birth controls."

For Birth Control "The birth controls I had tried were causing migraines during my placebo. So naturally, I asked for the knockoff of Seasonique so if I were to have migraines they would at least be every month instead of every 3 months. I experienced for the entirety of my time on this contraceptive “breakthrough bleeding” (according to OBGYN nurse) but really I would describe it more as hemorrhaging chunks. It also caused a loss in sex drive which I didn’t fully realize until I switched to something else. Absolutely do not recommend this contraceptive."

For Birth Control "I use this birth control on and off for the past 3 years. Mostly because I want to skip my period but when I start getting the bad side affects I stop taking them for months. The worst side effect is the anxiety and weight gain. I feel like I always am hungry, 2 months of taking them I’ve gained 10 pounds. It makes me crave stuff like when I was pregnant. The other side effect is that every time I'm finishing a pack ( when I’m supposed to get my period) I have the worst PMS symptoms. I get dizzy and tired and want to vomit. It’s just the worst 3 days. Last time I stopped taking them fur 2 days I had my period on and off for 4 weeks. I’m getting off this pill today after reading the reviews constant with my experience."

For Birth Control "Been on this for around 3 years and am finally realizing it is most likely the cause of my weight gain, hot flashes, depression and unexplained dizziness. Going to stop taking this as soon as possible and see if I start feeling normal again."

For Birth Control "I experienced dry mouth the first week of taking Ashlyna. I am on week 9 currently and have not experienced any issues and find this birth control to work extremely well with my body. I originally went on this Pill to assist with headaches experienced when premenstrual, the headaches have competed stopped and am pleased overall with no lasting side effects."

For Birth Control "Was on it for about 2 months and during that time I had mild cramping, weight gain, and bloating. As I continued it I began to notice terrible mood swings, increased depression, increased anxiety, and migraine headaches. I wanted to try and stick it out for a few more months to see if the side affects would gradually go away but I honestly don't think it's worth the increased depression and mood swings. I do not recommend this."

For Birth Control "25 year old here. I have been taking Ashlyna for close to a year now to help with my iron deficiency. Let me say this--I absolutely love getting my period every 3 months. That is the biggest pro of this BC. In addition, my period has decreased to 3-4 days now (during the first 2 batches, it was around a week of bleeding a lot). Now for cons--1) I have definitely noticed a decrease in my sex drive. My vagina has never been so dry during intimacy, and I have become very upset and frustrated with this. 2) CRAMPS. I get random cramps during the months that I don't have my period...these cramps become more frequent and painful the closer I get to my period date. I also get sudden and painful cramps when I am becoming aroused in intimacy; this has NEVER occurred until I began to take this BC. Additionally, during my period, I have 2-3 very very heavy days where the cramps are the most painful."

For Birth Control "I was looking forward to this birth control, only getting my period once a month sounded great. Yet I’m on my 6 month and I’ve been bleeding so often. At times I would spot for a month straight. Yes it’s only spotting but to be spotting for that long is so tiring. I would rather just get a consistent period once a month. At least I tried it. I’m going to switch off this pill and go back to getting my period once a month."

For Birth Control "I would give Ashlyna 0 stars if I could - less even. I've been on Ashlyna for just over 2 years now, and it was fantastic in the beginning, however, right at the 2-year mark, during my placebo/period week I had heavy bleeding, couldn't sleep, had no appetite, and felt dizzy. I have had blood work done and there is no explanation for why this is happening. I am on day 4 of a new pill and hope this one works more efficiently."

For Birth Control "If I could give this no stars I would. This is my second pack and I thought it would be different than the 1st pack. My first 5 weeks in I started spotted than my period came on for 22 days. I finally just stopped taking them and re-started them later that Sunday. It stopped my period from coming on and my period came on when I got to the placebo pills. I started to 2nd pack and was hoping that my body had adjusted to them by now. But the second pack and 5 weeks in I have started spotting again. I have decided to just stop taking them all together. I have literally gained about 15 pounds in less than 5 months and the cons of these pills out weighs the pros (of only getting your period every 3 months)."

For Birth Control "I started taking Ashlyna for bad cramps. Within 4 days I had horrible bloat AND gas pains. I stopped the pill after 4 days. This was 5 days ago, I am still having stomach issues and just got my period again after finishing it a week ago. This is a heavy one with horrendous cramps. Not worth it."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control for about 8 years for heavy bleeding. I also have depression, which is under control with other meds, and I also have Multiple Sclerosis. I have been on this for a month. I have breakthrough bleeding, increased depression and significant increased incontinence. As a 26 year old, peeing your pants fully, is more than an embarrassment."

For Birth Control "Originally I was using a different brand but since getting switched to this.. I “spot” bleed all the time. I’m going off birth control after this pack .. since I'm due to have a period soon anyways. I’ve been bleeding for 3 months straight. I’m haven’t been sexually active for almost a year. Who needs it with all these side effects?"

For Birth Control "Absolute worst experience I’ve had with birth control. I switched from Trinessa to Ashlyna because of my horrible cramps, very heavy bleeding, and broken out skin. I was told that Ashlyna would make it so I’d only get my period every 3 months. I had my period for 6 months straight no breaks. I was also horribly depressed the entire time I was on this pill, and was ALWAYS exhausted considering how much I was bleeding. I finally returned to my doctor and she asked if I want to keep giving it a try?? After being on the pill from hell for a little over 6 months I immediately knew the answer was NO."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this since July of this year, I just finished my first pack and started my second. I don't know if it's just coincidence or not but I haven't liked the side effects I have experienced. 1. Weight gain - overeating 2. constant spotting - daily for over a month 3. More irregular than I was before 4. I keep getting bacterial infections. I have not had any problems with infections at all until I started taking this."

For Birth Control "I switched about 3 months ago from the generic Lo Seasonique (3 month pill) to Ashlyna because of certain side effects. At first I was happy with this pill because those previous s/e went away almost instantly but for the past 3 days on the placebo I've had the worst cramping and heaviest period I've ever had. I went to the doctor a month ago for a checkup and also noticed I've gained 10 pounds...I've never gained weight on a birth control pill, safe to say I'm officially done with Ashlyna"

For Birth Control "Yasmin worked great for me for many years, but when I had to take the placebo pills, I would always get painful cystic acne due to hormonal changes, so I decided to go on a birth control that would decrease my periods. I read the negative comments and was really happy because I wasn’t having any of those problems. After 2 weeks on this pill, I went to the ER with horrible chest pains because multiple lobes of both my lungs were full of BLOOD CLOTS. I stayed at the hospital for a couple of days and had follow up with a hematologist. After having a ton of tests done, everything came back negative and they’re certain the blood clots were caused by hormonal pills. I was on Yasmin for almost 10 years and nothing happened to me, but 2 weeks after switching to this pill, I almost died! Now, I’m left with a hospital bill that I can’t pay and having to take blood thinners (which have side effects of their own) for at least 6 months because of this pill. Do not take this pill!"
