For Birth Control "I’m reading the comments, and everybody is different. I highly recommend. I was on Tri-Cyclen before, it made me super depressed. I could never gain any weight. Then my doctor switched me to Lo Seasonique. Everything went fine with that BC. Then my pharmacist/insurance changed it to Ashlyna. I gained the healthy weight I needed. No breakthrough bleeding unless I skip multiple pills. No depression, but slight mood swings, but hey, we’re girls, that happens every once in a while. Don’t let this comment discourage you. Try it for yourself! I LOVE THIS BC!"

For Birth Control "Ashlyna was my first experience with birth control, and I was looking forward to having my period every 3 months. The first 2 months on the pill, everything was great! Some mood swings, but no spotting, maintained my weight, and no change in skin quality. But about 2/3 into the pack, I started spotting daily. Along with the several weeks of spotting, my sex drive decreased drastically. During the placebo week, my period was relatively normal and lasted 3-4 days. When I started my second pack, it was similar to the first, where I was completely fine for about 1.5 months, then the spotting started again. However, after 2 weeks of spotting, I began to bleed heavily to the point where I would fill pads/tampons within a few hours. I also passed blood clots every day. Obviously, this was concerning, and I made an appointment to see my doctor ASAP! That will be in the next week or two. I have never stopped taking the pill and have been on schedule every day for the past 6 months."

For Birth Control "I used to get extreme cramps, and I would get super nauseous while on my period. And they would be heavy and super irregular. So I got on birth control to get my period to be regular. I love only getting my period four times a year. I haven’t had any crazy side effects like weight gain. I do get mild mood swings, but I don’t think it’s because of the birth control. I highly recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "My doctor put me on Ashlyna to try and help my periods. The first 3 weeks was fine. Week 4 hit and I started bleeding like a period (not breakthrough bleeding), along with having horrible mood swings, dizziness every now and then, cramps, and hot flashes, and from time to time passing big blood clots. After 2 weeks of this, I started to get concerned because I have never had this reaction to birth control before, so I called my doctor, she said to ride it out because all those were side effects of Ashlyna, and it will eventually stop. I did my best to ride it out, but I felt absolutely horrible. I didn't feel like myself. So I called my doctor back and told her she needs to give me something else because my body is having a hard time adjusting to this pill. So I finished my pill pack and she switched me to a different Sprintec. After a few weeks on the new one, I started to feel better. I had a 28-day period on Ashlyna. Everyone is different, but for me, I will never use Ashlyna again."

For Birth Control "I was taking Lo Seasonique with no issues for 2-3 years until I was switched to Ashlyna for insurance and pharmacy reasons. It is the same hormones, but Ashlyna is stronger. The first 3-6 months were seemingly okay until I started bleeding/spotting randomly at any time in the pack (not on placebo pills), mood swings/depression became an everyday thing, and if I did not take the pill like clockwork and was off by even 4 hours, I would get breakthrough bleeding. Not to mention the weight gain, 20 lbs in 6 months. I would not recommend."

For Birth Control "Absolutely did not like Ashlyna. I was on it for 6 months. I spotted constantly, sex drive dropped, acne did not get any better, and my emotions were all over the place. I felt down all the time, and it wasn’t until stopping the pill altogether that I’ve noticed how much happier my body is off of it!"

For Birth Control "I started Ashlyna to control my heavy periods. When my doctor told me about this birth control and that I would only have my period every 3 months, I jumped on it. Now everyone is different, so this is my experience. I was on another type of birth control, and it worked great for 3 years, light bleeding for 4 days, and I was very regular, like clockwork. Then I noticed my periods started becoming heavy again, large clots, and painful cramps. When my doctor told me about Ashlyna, I switched to it. The first 2 weeks went fine. Week 3 into the first pill back, I started bleeding, cramps, major mood swings, and bad hot flashes. I have now been bleeding for 3 weeks and still going, still have the mood swings, cramps, and hot flashes, and I just don't feel like myself. Needless to say, I called my doctor and told her I am not taking it anymore, and I want to switch back to my other pill. I will deal with 4 days of heavy bleeding and cramping. Ashlyna is not the birth control for me."

For Birth Control "Was on it for about 2 months, and during that time I had mild cramping, weight gain, and bloating. As I continued it, I began to notice terrible mood swings, increased depression, increased anxiety, and migraine headaches. I wanted to try and stick it out for a few more months to see if the side effects would gradually go away, but I honestly don't think it's worth the increased depression and mood swings. I do not recommend this."

For Birth Control "I started this pill back in December 2018 in hopes of having a period every 3 months due to bad cramps. Well, let me just tell you, this pill is awful. I have been spotting for a month, my hair is falling out like crazy, mood swings and depression, and I'm constantly tired. I am currently on month three, and I'm getting off of this mess as soon as possible. I highly recommend looking into other birth control."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Ashlyna birth control pill along with spironolactone (aldosterone blocker) by my dermatologist for cystic acne and to level out my hormone imbalance. The biggest pro of this birth control is my skin- it is literally porcelain, I’ve never seen it so clear. HOWEVER, the hormones are wild. I am definitely more depressed, anxious, fat, and just generally more emotional on this stuff than ever before. I stopped for 2 months this summer just to see the difference after about 2 years of being on it consistently, and yes, I was much happier and more active and even more social, but my skin turned really bad again, so I’m back in my black hole with perfect skin. It’s a love-hate thing. Enter at your own risk."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE, I’ve gained 26 pounds in 6 months, spotting soon as you are an hour or 2 late taking this pill, mood swings, and my anxiety is through the roof. The worst experience EVER! It cleared up my maskne but was not worth it!"

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control, Ashlyna, for close to 3 years. I discontinued use 2 months ago. A couple months after starting this birth control, I started having severe panic attacks where I would blackout daily. My mood swings were insane. My depression was at an all-time low. I was miserable, but I didn’t think a birth control could be causing all this. My periods were painful and made me nauseous, which isn’t normal for me. I didn’t experience spotting, but when I tried to skip over my placebo pills to avoid a period, I still bled. Since I’ve been off, my mood has improved tenfold and my periods aren’t painful or heavy."

For Birth Control "So I'll start off by saying that I used to be on Camrese (another generic of Seasonique). I used to get through my second month of pills, and then I would spot for almost the entire third month up until my period. Period weeks were short and sweet, but a downside was every couple of months I would randomly get heavy cramping in the middle of the night. I am on my first pack of Ashlyna, and so far it's been great. I am currently on my period week and only spotted for two days before my placebo week. I do get a little emotional, but it's the holidays too. I should be jumping for joy, but since this is my first pack, I don't know how to feel that I've still only been basically spotting all week. I'll have to see where I'm at after a few more packs, but so far so good."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control pill ever. I bled for months and lost so much blood. I've had mood swings, depression, and have been miserable! These pills should not be on the market! They will make your life a living hell."

For Birth Control "I kept having breakthrough bleeding, but my face did clear up. In the beginning, I had mood swings, suicidal thoughts, and headaches, but I pushed through it. This specific birth control didn't work with my body's chemistry, but keep in mind any birth control is a trial and error. I used to take a 30-day one that was perfect, but I didn't want my period so frequently. So I'll keep trying until I find one that works with my body."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control in February, and I experienced spotting for about 2 weeks. Then I started to bleed 1.5 months into it and didn’t stop until I started the next pack. This still happens every pack, and I’ve gotten used to it, but I plan on switching not only because of this. Also, after 4 months on it, I started to realize I became very emotional (which I used to never get upset or rarely cry), and I would go through depressive episodes that lasted about a week where I wouldn’t want to leave the house and would just cry for no reason. I also gained 10 lbs since starting this, but this was over quarantine, so not for sure if I can directly say it was the birth control. I get headaches 2-4 times a week, which I used to never get. My boobs grew two sizes. My acne got a little better, but not really. It did lighten my period, which was nice because I used to have the heaviest period where I could only make it 45 mins in an ultra tampon. Overall, I do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I’ve only been on this medicine since January, and I’ve recently experienced mood swings. I’ve been on 13 weeks of birth control before and didn’t really go through depression. I changed from the shot this, and I’m not really sure what I like better."

For Birth Control "I came to Ashlyna from Depo, which also gave me horrible side effects. Ashlyna has given me abnormal spotting daily for months. I get killing migraines that last for days, even with medication. I originally gained 20 lbs when I first started taking it. I've been on it for a year, and I'm done. I get horrible mood swings and cramping like I've never had before. I no longer get periods at all, but still the spotting and horrible pain. I have no sex drive whatsoever. I have had 2 bacterial infections while being on it, I never once had one before. This sounded great at first, but it honestly isn't worth it if I have to be in pain all day."

For Birth Control "This birth control made me an emotional wreck. I took it for 2 weeks! The only thing that had changed in my life was taking this birth control. I turned into an immature, sensitive baby. Also a VERY possessive person. I was very moody. My husband was walking on eggshells. The sound of him breathing would set me off. It was like a switch flipped. Anyone in my way, better RUN. I had asked my doctor for the NuvaRing since having it before worked well for me. The pharmacy stated it was 640.!! That is how I came to this birth control. Spent 180 for a 3-month supply of this to end up taking 2 weeks. I know that everyone responds differently to birth control. Just needed to share."

For Birth Control "So I had to switch my pharmacy because the one I had used for years closed, and I had to pick up my birth control, and the pharmacist gave me 'Ashlyna,' which I never took before. I have been taking the same birth control for 5 years, and they have never changed my prescription. I am very regular with taking my pill every morning when I wake up. I started to take it, and I had gotten my period for 3 and 1/2 weeks. Though I am on the pack where I am supposed to get my period one week every 3 months. I called my doctor, and she explained they never changed my prescription, so she wrote a note to my new pharmacy stating I can only take the name brand 'Teva Camrese,' which I have been taking for 5 years. I went to pick up my regular birth control, and it has been 4 days since I started taking it again, and my period is finally gone. The Ashlyna birth control sucks, and it made my acne and mood swings awful. I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I have the implant in my arm and bled for 6 months straight. I got put on Ashlyna to stop the bleeding. It worked, there's no more bleeding. However, I'm now week 3, and I've thrown up at least once a day since I started taking it. Yesterday and today being the worst. I've thrown up about every half hour to an hour for the past 12 hours. I've also experienced major mood swings over petty things throughout the past 3 weeks. I'm hoping the side effects go away, but if not, I'm going to stop taking this product."

For Birth Control "I'm going on my 3rd week taking this, and for me, it has caused, in the first week or two, a lowered libido (sex drive) and vaginal dryness. And I'm 16! Even when I'm with my bf and I'm turned on, I'm not even really wet at all, and this causes irritating and painful sex unless you have lube. Before this, I had no problem getting wet. This is the first birth control I've ever been on, so I don't know if all this is supposed to go away after a couple or few months, but honestly, I don't think it's worth it. I've also been experiencing breast tenderness (usually in the morning, it feels like I'm going through puberty all over again, lol), perhaps a little bit of breast enlargement (which, hey, I'm not complaining about), and a bit of mood swings."

For Birth Control "Last week I finished my first pack of Ashlyna and am now on my second. Don’t let these reviews scare you, I let them get to me and it made me so nervous to start this pill three months ago. Keep in mind most people write reviews when they have a bad experience. Yes, there were side effects at first. I had bad mood swings, nausea, dizziness, light spotting, and breakouts during the first couple of weeks, but that’s just the body adjusting to the new medication. I talked to my doctor and she said to try to finish out the pack. I’m so glad I did because when I started the second month, all those side effects pretty much disappeared and I didn’t see a period until I got to the sugar pills. If you just started this pill or are about to start, try giving it a few weeks for your body to adjust, don’t give up on it right away!"
