For Birth Control "Last week I finished my first pack of Ashlyna and am now on my second. Don’t let these reviews scare you, I let them get to me and it made me so nervous to start this pill three months ago. Keep in mind most people write reviews when they have a bad experience. Yes, there were side effects at first. I had bad mood swings, nausea, dizziness, light spotting, and breakouts during the first couple of weeks, but that’s just the body adjusting to the new medication. I talked to my doctor and she said to try to finish out the pack. I’m so glad I did because when I started the second month, all those side effects pretty much disappeared and I didn’t see a period until I got to the sugar pills. If you just started this pill or are about to start, try giving it a few weeks for your body to adjust, don’t give up on it right away!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Ashlyna for about 9 months now, and I've got to say that this is the best BC I've ever tried! I went through quite a few different brands in an effort to find one that worked for me, but none of them would stop my period. I'd still get it during weird times while taking my active pills. My doctor finally tried me on Ashlyna, and I love it! I get a very small amount of spotting every so once in a while, but aside from that, no period! I've not experienced any weight gain, and I feel like it's really helped to stabilize my moods and prevent acne too! Wish I had found this birth control a long time ago because it is AMAZING!!!"

For Birth Control "Absolutely did not like Ashlyna. I was on it for 6 months. I spotted constantly, sex drive dropped, acne did not get any better, and my emotions were all over the place. I felt down all the time, and it wasn’t until stopping the pill altogether that I’ve noticed how much happier my body is off of it!"

For Birth Control "After so many different birth controls to assist my iron deficiency and finally end my insanely heavy and long periods, I finally had been prescribed Ashlyna. This birth control is the best that I've tried, and I've tried a lot of the pills. I only get a period every three months, and it's always small and minimal. It helps with acne, and I didn't gain weight!"

For Birth Control "Up until recently, I would have given Ashlyna a 10/10... that’s until I figured out the root of my issues. For the last 6 or 7 months, I have noticed a horrible change in my attitude. I have 3 children, and absolutely anything they would do, I would lose my mind. I got extremely mad over absolutely nothing. I couldn’t stand to be talked to, I couldn’t stand to have anything extra going on... especially noise or chaos, and that’s not me! I also noticed that my depression was at an all-time low. Like, I just couldn’t take life. Everything was too much, and I just mentally was NOT okay. BUT it wasn’t until I started bleeding randomly in my cycle that I realized I can’t do this birth control. I have been on it a year in January, and it was doing so good period-wise up until this month. I had absolutely no breakthrough bleeding, and my periods were exactly every 90 days. After reading the reviews, I’m starting to wonder, though, if the acne I’ve started to get isn't from Ashlyna..."

For Birth Control "After getting my IUD removed, I wanted to switch back to the pill due to complications. I didn’t get nausea with this pill like I have with others, which was nice. It did cause me to gain about 15-20 pounds. I also had a low sex drive with Ashlyna, being a young woman who had always had a very high sex drive, it was really weird to me. I also got pretty bad acne with this pill, painful hard bumps. It did its job as far as preventing pregnancy, but personally, I didn’t like it due to side effects. Every woman is different, it might be worth a try."

For Birth Control "I decided to get on Ashlyna in April/May 2020 sometime. The only side effect I’m noticing is the aching pain in my thighs I would have when I have my cycle. I decided on Ashlyna to not worry about a cycle so much. I’ve always had cystic hormonal acne every now and then, and I’d say it’s not as bad, but I do encounter a random breakout. I’ve only missed one day whenever a pill went down the drain and ended up having an “accident,” so staying consistent helps."

For Birth Control "I’m not sure if it’s related to this drug, but as soon as I started it, I’ve had awful fainting spells. I’m constantly afraid of passing out unexpectedly. I’ve also been really bloated, and my acne is terrible."

For Birth Control "About 7 weeks into my first pack, I started spotting for 2 1/2 weeks, which then turned into a full-on HEAVY period for another week. My doctor said to stay on it, things should level out. During the 7-week placebo pill, nothing happened. Went several more weeks with no period, then a 3-day period. Followed 3 1/2 weeks later with another 8-day period. I've had the worst acne of my adult life with Ashlyna, causing huge, painful pimples under the skin that will not go away. My husband says I am moody. Definitely low libido. I'm going to try one more 13-week pack after I finish this one. If things don't level out, I need to do something different."

For Birth Control "Yasmin worked great for me for many years, but when I had to take the placebo pills, I would always get painful cystic acne due to hormonal changes, so I decided to go on a birth control that would decrease my periods. I read the negative comments and was really happy because I wasn’t having any of those problems. After 2 weeks on this pill, I went to the ER with horrible chest pains because multiple lobes of both my lungs were full of blood clots. I stayed at the hospital for a couple of days and had a follow-up with a hematologist. After having a ton of tests done, everything came back negative, and they’re certain the blood clots were caused by hormonal pills. I was on Yasmin for almost 10 years and nothing happened to me, but 2 weeks after switching to this pill, I almost died! Now, I’m left with a hospital bill that I can’t pay and having to take blood thinners (which have side effects of their own) for at least 6 months because of this pill. Do not take this pill!"

For Birth Control "I started this birth control in February, and I experienced spotting for about 2 weeks. Then I started to bleed 1.5 months into it and didn’t stop until I started the next pack. This still happens every pack, and I’ve gotten used to it, but I plan on switching not only because of this. Also, after 4 months on it, I started to realize I became very emotional (which I used to never get upset or rarely cry), and I would go through depressive episodes that lasted about a week where I wouldn’t want to leave the house and would just cry for no reason. I also gained 10 lbs since starting this, but this was over quarantine, so not for sure if I can directly say it was the birth control. I get headaches 2-4 times a week, which I used to never get. My boobs grew two sizes. My acne got a little better, but not really. It did lighten my period, which was nice because I used to have the heaviest period where I could only make it 45 mins in an ultra tampon. Overall, I do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "So I had to switch my pharmacy because the one I had used for years closed, and I had to pick up my birth control, and the pharmacist gave me 'Ashlyna,' which I never took before. I have been taking the same birth control for 5 years, and they have never changed my prescription. I am very regular with taking my pill every morning when I wake up. I started to take it, and I had gotten my period for 3 and 1/2 weeks. Though I am on the pack where I am supposed to get my period one week every 3 months. I called my doctor, and she explained they never changed my prescription, so she wrote a note to my new pharmacy stating I can only take the name brand 'Teva Camrese,' which I have been taking for 5 years. I went to pick up my regular birth control, and it has been 4 days since I started taking it again, and my period is finally gone. The Ashlyna birth control sucks, and it made my acne and mood swings awful. I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "Absolute worst experience I’ve had with birth control. I switched from Trinessa to Ashlyna because of my horrible cramps, very heavy bleeding, and broken-out skin. I was told that Ashlyna would make it so I’d only get my period every 3 months. I had my period for 6 months straight, no breaks. I was also horribly depressed the entire time I was on this pill and was ALWAYS exhausted, considering how much I was bleeding. I finally returned to my doctor, and she asked if I want to keep giving it a try? After being on the pill from hell for a little over 6 months, I immediately knew the answer was NO."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Ashlyna for a little over 10 years now. It’s been great. I take it religiously and not once had a pregnancy scare. I have zero side effects; no acne, weight gain, spotting, or bloating. I get my period for 3-4 days every three months. The only complaint is the packaging sucks and has sucked for years. Just have to press the pill through the foil with only your fingernail to make sure you only pop that pill out and not rip the package. Other than that, I will forever recommend this birth control!"

For Birth Control "I have noticed little to no side effects since being on this birth control pill for over 5 years. Of course, I experienced the usual headaches and occasional breakouts, but there was one side effect that frustrated me the most. I assumed that after being on this pill for 5 years, my body would’ve adjusted to it by now. However, about 2 weeks leading up to my period, I experience heavy spotting every day. It’s very frustrating to me because when this happens, it seems like my period lasts for 3 weeks. I’m very religious about taking my pills every day at the same time, so I think it’s time for a change in my birth control. Other than that, I was very pleased with Ashlyna!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for over 2 years, and it is terrible at this point. After a few months of straight bleeding when I first started, I finally regulated and grew to love this birth control, until 3-4 months ago, I forgot a day or two, and my face has yet to stop breaking out, and now I spot constantly. It’s to the point I’m cramping terribly, and it makes me sick. I have got to get off this!!!!!"

For Birth Control "Been on Ashlyna 8 months now, and I’m just not happy with it. I skip the placebo pills in order to skip my periods. I decided this after talking to my doctor, and she recommended Ashlyna. The first few months went as expected: breakthrough bleed, lots of hormonal acne, a little weight gain/bloating... all common when switching BC pills. I accepted this as normal. However, I’m at the 8th month mark now, and the side effects are still present, mainly random breakthrough bleeds that never seem to end, which is so frustrating! I’m in the process of switching to my previous pill, Junel Fe 24. I didn’t have major problems with that pill, and it totally took my period away."

For Birth Control "I always had awful periods; before trying this birth control, I was on Sprintec for 2 years. It got to where it wouldn’t even phase my 8-day periods. My acne also got awful, even on my shoulders, chest, and back. The first month of trying Ashlyna, my mood was awful for about 2 weeks, and my acne was terrible. I had cystic bumps on my chin, and my shoulders were covered in bumps. I am now on my second pack, and my acne has completely disappeared on my shoulders and back. My face is also extremely clear. I have gained no weight, and my mood has improved drastically! Definitely don’t give up on it; it has worked wonders for me. It’s also a plus not having horrid periods every month."
