Estradiol / norethindrone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "I am very disappointed with this product. After using 5 patches, I developed a cyst on my right ovary and had to spend out of pocket for the ultrasound and vaginal camera test, as my insurance would not pay. I started to hemorrhage very badly for about 4 hours and had severe cramping for weeks on end. I could not work in my office. Upon going to see an OBGYN, he said most likely this product caused this cyst, as I was not using any other product at the time. I would highly recommend you NOT use this product. I wrote them a letter and asked for my out of pocket expenses, including the repayment of the product, and I got NO RESPONSE. This is very unprofessional of them and just not ethically right. When this kind of negative side effect comes up, the pharmaceutical company needs to step up to the plate and be held responsible and do the right thing by responding to my request. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT AT ALL!!"

Estradiol / norethindrone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "I was getting about 6 hot flashes per day and night sweats about 3 times per night to the point I was averaging 5 hours of sleep. CombiPatch fixed that, but at a price. I have an itchy rash at the placement site and gained 6 lbs within the first month on it. Not to mention it's $220/month out of pocket after insurance (and I have good health insurance), and there's no generic. I tried 2 weeks of cutting the patch in half, which didn't change the effectiveness, but the rash and weight persist. I wanted desperately to like it, but I'm hoping to switch to something else."

Estradiol / norethindrone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "This is in response to Loops. Yes, I am having something very similar. I went on this patch early October of this year to treat severe hot flashes, as I am 51 years old. Last period was in August of 2017. On November 4 of this year, 2021, I woke up in the middle of the night to blood, as in a full-blown menstrual cycle. A few days prior, I had some light pink spotting, but that was it. I will be seeing my doctor on the 16th to run some tests. She will check for various things; I'm very worried that this may be cancer. I keep hearing that when you bleed after menopause, that's not a good sign. I've also read that this patch can cause bleeding, or it could be something like a reactivated fibroid. I've always had very heavy periods and don't miss those. Though the CombiPatch has helped me out for the most part, I'm not sure if it's worth having a return of monthly cycles. At my age, I really don't want to be dealing with periods anymore. I haven't been on this for even a month."

Estradiol / norethindrone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "Consider removal of ovaries if you use Activella or consider not taking it at all. My mum was on the drug for several years and developed ovarian cancer. HRT increases the risk of breast and ovarian cancer, and I do not wish anyone to go through what my mum is going through. Hot flushes are nothing compared to chemo and the high probability of death within the next few months/years."

Estradiol / norethindrone "I only took Activella for a little over a month, and then I got a severe UTI and my gyn suggested I stop taking it in case it was contributing to my symptoms. The first two weeks taking it, my hot flashes actually got worse, but then after 2 weeks they improved and I did not feel them. I felt okay overall on Activella, but when I stopped taking it I lost 4 pounds in 2 weeks (I had definitely noticed a little weight gain while taking it) and I also feel more like myself off of it, I think. I'll probably look into topical hormones or the patch. Some people love it, so it's worth trying to see if you do. The weight gain I experienced might have gone away in time, who knows."

Estradiol / norethindrone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "I’m 48, have been using CombiPatch for almost a year now. Last period was July 2018. I had been suffering with progressively worse night sweats and daytime hot flashes to the point where it was affecting my quality of life. It was a few weeks before I noticed fewer hot flashes, and after a month or so, I no longer had any. I did have spotting and about 4-5 periods within the first six months of using it (brownish red in color, not red like pre-menopause). I went in for regular check-ups with my doctor while this was happening and had a transvaginal ultrasound as a precaution, and everything checked out. I did gain some belly weight and have some hair thinning, but this could have been normal menopause that caused it vs. the patch. I’ve always been healthy, eat well, and exercise regularly. I would highly recommend it. It did not do much for the painful menopause sex, but together with Vagifem inserts, it’s been a lifesaver. Coupon online that makes it $25/month with my insurance."

I use Neutrogena makeup remover to get the sticky residue off. The only issue I have noticed is hair thinning and hair coming out more frequently than before. Estradiol / norethindrone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "I am 48 and pre-menopausal. I went to my doctor with heavy menstrual cycles with heavy clotting. My doctor put me on Necon for a few months, but my bleeding didn't stop. The doctor wanted to opt for ablation. After a failed ablation, my doctor checked my hormone levels, and my estrogen was very low-even after taking birth control for months. He placed me on Mimvey 0.5/0.1 pill. I noticed a slight increase in blood pressure, and my bleeding was non-stop. He upped my Mimvey to 1/0.05, and my blood pressure increased steadily (even though I take Lisinopril HCTZ 20-25). My family doctor had to give me an additional dose of Clonidine just to get my blood pressure close to normal. I went off Mimvey, and within a day, my blood pressure is back to normal."

I sleep 10 hours each night, and it's really annoying because I can't wake up before 10 a.m. - this really interferes with my goals in life and work situation. The generic version made by Noven now uses a COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE adhesive, making the use of their patch impossible as it does not adhere. For Postmenopausal Symptoms "Had been on other HRT meds for hot flashes and irritability, and only gained weight and felt depressed. Once I started Activella, I immediately felt better on all fronts. For Postmenopausal Symptoms "Have been on this medication for one month - using every other day. It relieves the hot flashes completely, however, I've noticed a significant amount of hair loss. I was taking Ortho-Prefest before and had some hair loss, but not as much as I'm now experiencing. For Postmenopausal Symptoms "Aged 65, I’ve used a prescribed bioidentical progesterone cream for over 15 years. My original complaints were severe night sweats and low mood. I stopped using the cream in 2016 due to its expense. Subsequent physical changes noted were extremely saggy skin on the stomach, face, breasts, and arms. Additional complaints are severe osteoporosis, memory issues, and incontinence. I’ve used the combination patch (Estriol 50/140) for approx. a year and prior to that an oral combo pill for about 3 months. The positive changes I note are significant skin plumping and a cheerier mood. The overriding negative one is hair loss. My scalp is becoming visible on the top and front of my head, and many irritating short thin hairs have appeared along the scalp line. Hair loss did not occur with the use of the bioidentical progesterone cream I’d used for over 15 years."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I am 57, postmenopausal. Originally prescribed Bijuva 2 years ago for severe hot flashes, palpitations. It worked wonders! Although insurance would not cover, I used a coupon. Two months ago, my large chain pharmacy would not honor the coupon, so my MD ordered Activella/Mimvey 1 mg estradiol, 0.5 mg norethindrone acetate. I was given the generic. Wow, what a difference-enlarged, tender breasts, bloating, discharge (not bloody), overall feeling yuck. Bijuva uses progesterone while Activella et al. uses norethindrone acetate. I'm very surprised and upset with the difference in my overall well-being."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "When I was taking this medicine, I had lots of bleeding, pain in my calves, rashes, sleep problems, acne, etc. It did control my flashes and vaginal dryness, but I would not recommend it as it was not safe for me. I developed problems with my uterus because of it and decided to stop it right away. It has been a week since I stopped it, the bleeding is gone, I sleep all night, and so far no flashes."

"I am 43 years old. I started using the patches a week ago. I haven’t had a period in the past 6 months and have been feeling menopausal symptoms for over a year. My doctor and partner suggested that I try the treatment. They had concerns because of my age. I started bleeding less than 24 hours after my first patch, and my mood is very bad. After that passed, I felt my mood stabilize and I’m sleeping like a baby. I also have less joint pain.
