For Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on Jardiance 25 mg for 2 months. Have had 2 severe yeast infections. Have not gotten my A1C rechecked since I've been taking it, but if it hadn't gone down quite a bit, I will go off this medicine. The yeast infections are so painful and miserable, I don't know if it's worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Jardiance, and by day 3, I developed a yeast infection. The doctor gave me meds to treat it, but it's not going away. I'm upset because this medicine had me drinking tons of water, and I never drink water. But I cannot take the yeast infections, so I'm going to stop it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Was on Jardiance for about a year. Greatly reduced my A1C, but had many recurring UTIs and yeast infections. Had a severe UTI that sent me into the ICU with sepsis. Due to repeated yeast infections, wound up with urinary candidiasis causing a fungal ball in the renal pelvis of my kidney. Will not touch Jardiance or any other SGLT2 inhibitor medication with a 10-foot pole."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started this in addition to Trulicity with hopes to add to weight loss and lower sugars a bit more. I didn't lose any additional weight, but it did seem to lower sugar. However, after taking this for about a year, I started getting a yeast infection. I NEVER get them. I tried everything: prescription meds, creams, suppositories. Nothing worked to get rid of it. I was blistering, peeling, and bleeding. I also had a pretty constant UTI. I even used moist wipes per the doctor's order from day one to keep extra clean. At first, I thought it could be those, so I changed brands and even went to the ultra-sensitive ones. Then I thought to check here, and I'm so glad I did! After realizing it could be Jardiance, I went off of it and the infections stopped on their own with no other intervention! My doc tried to start again with a lower dose, but as soon as I started getting the first sign of infections coming back, I ditched it. Waiting on an appointment with an endo to see what's next."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Like many others, Jardiance started off fine the first several months. In the past few months, started getting hit with bad yeast infections. The first one was treatable with OTC cream, the following ones were brutal. Didn't know they were related to this med until I decided to stop taking it to see if it were exacerbating it, and sure enough. Not only did I get a yeast infection, but there was a constant painful rash in the whole area. This is why gangrene of the perineum is a side effect. I thoroughly clean after going to the bathroom, using wipes. Nothing helped. Finally asked my doctor if I could switch back to Trulicity and haven't had a problem 'down there' since. This medication needs some serious looking at because I don't think those side effects are rare at all."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking this medication for a year now. At first, it worked, and my BS went down without exercise. But the problem is I always had a yeast infection, and now I'm coughing a lot. Then I went to my doctor and had an ultrasound on my neck. It came out that I had a small lymph node on my neck. That causes me to cough a lot. I'm just wondering if it's one of the side effects of this medication, taking 25 mg tablets. Any idea? And one bad side effect of this medication, too, is back pain."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Dr. prescribed Jardiance to help get sugar buildup out with urine. It has been horrible with constant yeast infections. I have never in my life had one. Burning with or without urination. Terrible thirst, sugar has been running 96-128. I am on Metformin. In the last 7 months, I had lost 17 lb before starting Jardiance. The medication is very scary, your whole body aches. No energy, and the yeast infections. Always on your mind. I am done with this medicine! Please beware!"

"Have been taking Jardiance 25 mg for almost 2 years now - and will probably stop now. I have type 1 diabetes, it helped at the beginning - lowered sugar levels, lost around 5 kg in 3 months, but eventually the weight came back, have been having yeast infections non-stop, and - I have about only half of my hair left compared to the time 2 years back. My hair is falling out like crazy. I just can't take it anymore and am stopping taking Jardiance from today. Don't want to be bald and infected all the time."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started using Jardiance over a year ago. I have frequent yeast infections I cannot seem to get rid of. The constant yeast infection is the only negative side effect I seem to have, but I also take Lantus, so I'm not sure which one is causing it. Just wish it would go away."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Jardiance in addition to insulin, Metformin, and Olmetec (for hypertension). Initially, I had a few middle-of-the-night hypos, which then leveled out. I have had constant yeast infections, one after the other following treatment. I have gained weight, not lost. I have fluid on my knee and joint pain. My urine output decreased; I no longer get up during the night. I am constantly exhausted. However, I would like to continue it due to the benefits for my heart and kidneys; the yeast infections, however, are too constant and too severe for that to happen."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor prescribed Jardiance to go along with my metformin. She said I would lose weight as well and possibly get a yeast infection. I started the medication immediately, and before the week was out, I had a really bad yeast infection. I haven’t had one in years. The itching was really bad. I was given Diflucan. Usually, Diflucan works the same day, but this time it took three days to kick in. A few days passed, and I now have another yeast infection, worse than the first time. Major itching and burning when I urinate. Excessive thirst. I’m calling my physician in the morning because this is too much."
