Dienogest / estradiol for Birth Control "I had a tough time with my periods since day one. Always excruciatingly painful, bloating, vomiting, heavy and lengthy, 9+ days. I had to miss a lot of school and later on had to miss a lot of work. Quality of life was very poor. I always had to plan my life around when my period would be coming because I knew all plans would have to be canceled. Natazia changed all of that. I have been taking it for five years now, and these days my periods are super light for two days with no pain. Cons... since I've been on this pill, I've noticed my vision has gotten progressively worse, I am moody, I have gained about 10 lbs per year that no amount of diet and exercise seems to be able to fix, and finally, I have no sex drive, putting a strain on my relationship."

Dienogest / estradiol for Birth Control "This is my 3rd birth control pill. I've always had long periods (7-9 days), and after my last pill gave me mood swings, no sex drive, and still long periods with spotting between periods; this pill has fixed all that. My periods are barely 3 days, and I have no spotting between periods, which is the best part. Well, that and the fact that it works to prevent pregnancy in 2 ways."

Dienogest / estradiol for Birth Control "After Triphasil was removed from the market several years ago, I struggled to find a pill that worked for me. I tried Trivora and Lo-Ovral, but my libido completely left me, and I had horrible mood swings most of the month. Eventually, I got off the pill altogether. After 3 years off the pill, I needed to get back on because of bad cramps, and my doctor suggested Natazia. It has been 5 months now, and I am thrilled with the results. The first 2 months, I did not have a real period, just some spotting, but now I seem to have leveled out into a predictable cycle. I have a few days of spotting 1 week before the inert pills, then I have a period that literally lasts only a day. No cramps, minimal breast tenderness, and I feel like myself."

Dienogest / estradiol for Birth Control "No side effects, like other pills I've been on. The downside, decreased libido, very dry/painful intercourse, and having my period for 8-9 days. They are very light compared to my periods when I was not on the pill for 4 years. Debating if the no side effects outweigh the cons."

For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "Worked VERY well to decrease pain caused by endometriosis and a large cyst on my ovary. It did not shrink the cyst but kept it from growing. I had a partial hysterectomy, but the endometriosis kept on. Numerous side effects, but maybe worth it considering the effect on pelvic pain? (Haven't decided, am trying something different). Breast tenderness ALL the time, weight gain (20 lbs over a year), some acne, more facial hair (started waxing my upper lip), decreased libido. Will be trying a different class of progestin as I have more time to wait before my next surgery (thanks to COVID, grumble, grumble)."

Dienogest / estradiol for Birth Control "I began Natazia at 14. I'm 21, so I've been on it 7 years. I have severe endometriosis, which is why I began the pill to treat it and preserve fertility. I've had laparoscopy. Natazia made my periods very light and short or often disappear. Pre-BC, I had 12-day periods that were incredibly painful and heavy. Now, I rarely bleed more than a day or two, even if I take the placebo. HOWEVER, I believe Natazia has caused incredibly severe and chronic issues for me: appetite disorders, milia around my eyes, severe anxiety, crippling depression, insomnia, exhaustion/tiredness, constant bloating, 10 lbs weight gain, nausea, headaches, nonexistent libido, dull hair, and uneven skin. I am very healthy otherwise, as I am a college athlete and eat a plant-based diet. I really am considering stopping BC altogether, this is truly unbearable. I'd rather bleed for 12 days than feel this way."
