For Opiate Withdrawal "I was a heroin and oxycodone user for years. Do not take Suboxone for heroin withdrawals. It does not work at all, it will make you take a trip to the ER. It does not work, trust me. I had so much fear of stopping opiates because of the tremendous reaction going from heroin to Suboxone that I stayed on oxys. Well, I went to detox and they gave me clonidine, and I had zero withdrawal symptoms. Trust me, if you take heroin or opiates, this medicine does and will work for you. It's a miracle drug. Don't let opiates ruin your life. All you have to do is take this medicine and you will get your life back. Withdrawal symptoms had me so scared, but I literally had no pain when I took this medicine. It works."

For Anxiety "Been taking for 4 weeks now. Good for keeping physical anxiety down. Good for people who tend to notice their heart racing and who get extreme adrenaline rushes when nervous. Takes the edge off which mentally helps."

For Opiate Withdrawal "Was on oxycodone 10 mg for a year. Am now 72 hours clean from it. Started taking clonidine at the first hour. Took 0.2 mg every 5 hours for the first 48 hours. Dropped back to 0.1 mg every 6 hours up until now. I have had zero withdrawal symptoms but I still have problems sleeping. The only downside is that it makes me very weak. I can barely walk. I would take being weak over the nasty withdrawal symptoms any day. I am 61 years old and I was hooked on various opiates back in '80s, went through many detox units and I never had an easier 72 hours than this time. I would recommend it to anyone."

For Opiate Withdrawal "This is my second attempt at withdrawing. My first attempt was back in February of 2016 from hydromorphone tabs 1mg x 16 a day. I went cold turkey and had no help except I used a bit of information from the Thomas recipe. It was a bit helpful, but my experience was horrific for a solid week. I started taking OxyContin 5/325mg a couple of months later because I couldn't take the pain, and now I'm up to 10 a day and in a mess again. I went to the ER and asked for help with detoxing. They gave me clonidine and lorazepam, and I have to say I'm starting day two of the withdrawal, and I'm not feeling totally myself, but there are less sweats and chills. The anxiety is almost nil. It's really helped me. I am even able to talk to people without any anxiety."

For Opiate Withdrawal "Reading some of the other reviews, some people rate this as a 7 or 8 because it doesn't take away all their withdrawals or restless legs syndrome, etc. Well, we all must have the realization that we must pay the Piper someday. Mine was 2 days ago. After at least months and possibly years, I was taking Norco/hydrocodone and kept it somewhat in check at about 60mg a day. One major reason I kept taking Norco was because of my newly found Restless Leg Syndrome that I knew was from pain medicines. I must tell you, it feels like my fears are gone. You can't have your cake and eat it too, but this is damn close for getting rid of a lot of withdrawal symptoms. Not sure if I recommend taking during the day though as I'm quite sleepy."

For Opiate Withdrawal "I was on 100 mg of fentanyl with hydrocodone 10 mg on top of that. I tried to quit cold turkey before, but it was the worst experience of my life. I was given some clonidine from a friend. I took 0.1 mg of clonidine at night with gabapentin for my nerve pain in my arm. Sometimes I also took 0.25 mg of Xanax. I'm on day four. The ONLY problems I have experienced are a little cramping, slight nerve pain (IF I went past the time I should've taken another dose of clonidine), and I'm very tired and weak. I can hardly get up to do anything. I have zero cravings for opiates. Clonidine DEFINITELY works! Now, how do I get my energy back?"

For Opiate Withdrawal "Wow, never thought I would be typing this. I am on day one taking Clonidine and hoping. Please pray for me. I just want to go back to my normal self. I clean homes for a living. Does anyone know how long before I will have enough energy to go back to cleaning homes? I hate that I got myself here. I have a very bad back and have been taking 100mg of oxycodone for at least a year and a half. I'm ready, just want to know it gets better. I forget and miss the normal me. Thanks everyone and God bless."

For Opiate Withdrawal "I definitely would give this for heroin or sub withdrawal. I had been on a 12-year binge with opiates and I can finally say I'm done with the whole lifestyle, nothing changes or gets better when you're using. Even though I was able to really be functional addicted, I'm done using. All the money I've spent to stay well and just to make it to the next day. I'm done being left in despair. I don't need drugs to be normal. It's just a way of killing yourself in many ways. Get help, do whatever you got to do, to finally stay clean. Never give up."

For Opiate Withdrawal "I have been an opiate addict since I was 18, and I am now 31. While having gone through opiate withdrawal at least once, the clonidine is and has been the only thing that makes my symptoms practically nonexistent. I can firmly, without any hesitation, say it works. I was very skeptical, but it proved me so wrong. I am now on my 5th day into withdrawing and haven't had cold sweats, nausea, loss of appetite, nor any other symptoms. I can say this is going to be the beginning of a sober life, so if you're scared to go through withdrawal, just see a doctor and ask for it because it works almost 100%."

For ADHD "I started taking clonidine just over a year ago after my anxiety, impulsivity, and ADHD were getting out of hand. I also wanted to stop my stimulants because they didn't improve my quality of life like my neurologist kept telling me they would. My PCP recommended clonidine. It really helps me relax and focus within about 30-40 minutes. I take 1 or 1.5 pills during the day when feeling anxious or overwhelmed, and it really helps me relax, focus, and better control my thoughts. If I take 2 during the day, I get too sleepy. I do take 2 before bed, and it helps me sleep really well. I really enjoy this medication, especially because it doesn't have addictive qualities. I'd definitely recommend this to others. The worst side effect was dry mouth, which went away after the first few months. This medication changed my life and is so simple."

For Perimenopausal Symptoms "I began having hot flashes about two months ago, they were awful. I can't take hormone replacement or use natural remedies because I have a blood clotting disorder and am on Coumadin for life. My doctor prescribed this to me on March 3, 2015, and I haven't had a hot flash since. So far for me, this has been a miracle drug. No noticeable side effects other than I go to sleep a little faster. I take one pill at night and began having instant relief. I was having horrible hot flashes all day and night sweats. All. Gone. I'm so thankful!"

For Opiate Withdrawal "I have a long history of severe opioid addiction. My drug of choice was IV hydromorphone. I struggled with cravings when clean for years. In Feb this year, I found a study which suggested that clonidine could be used as long-term therapy for stress-induced cravings in cocaine addicts. I asked my doc to try this on me, and he did. I am on 0.1-0.3 mg, 4 times a day. Have been for almost 10 months. Careful about low blood pressure at first. The first dose I took immediately eliminated my cravings, which I found incredible to believe. Not only did I not crave, but I did not care. 2 months later, also using the patch, I quit smoking. I don't crave cigarettes either, even around smokers. Highly recommended."

Clonidine for Opiate Withdrawal "Works very well, it will make me very sleepy and takes away restless legs syndrome, sweats, and nausea. After stopping any opiate and before taking Suboxone, you need to go through withdrawal before the Suboxone will work and taking clonidine will ease the withdrawal symptoms. It will not take them away completely but it will make it a million times easier than without anything. When trying to get off Suboxone, taking clonidine in between doses of Suboxone will really really help. Tapering off Suboxone takes a long time and needs to be taken very slowly or withdrawals will last for weeks. There are several other medications that will help in conjunction with clonidine, just ask your doctor."

For Anxiety "I absolutely definitely do not like this medicine, clonidine. I’m tired throughout the whole entire day once I have taken it. I feel so drowsy, sleepy, my anxiety has been going crazy. I can’t get anything done throughout my day because I’m sleeping all day. I feel like my mind is out of space. I am not myself when taking this med. I WANT OFF OF IT NOW."

For High Blood Pressure "Have been on Clonidine 0.1 mg three times daily for a year. As long as I space my pills eight hours apart throughout the day, I am okay with them. They do not have the side effects that other blood pressure medications have. I hope I never have to go off this medication. I am 78 years old."

Clonidine for High Blood Pressure "I have been taking Clonidine 0.3 mg twice a day for 4 years along with my anxiety medication, and it has helped tremendously. If I were not to take it, I wouldn't be able to function properly. So yes, I definitely rely on this medication to help keep me functional for taking care of my children and keeping our home in order."

For Insomnia, Stimulant-Associated "I was put on this medication after I was injured in an IED blast in Afghanistan. I have been using it for almost a year now, and I could not be happier with its results. It helps me fall asleep but does not make me feel groggy even when I need to wake up in the middle of the night. It also helps me to avoid nightmares and other anxiety-related symptoms. If you want a sleep aid that does not have the side effects of others like Lunesta or Ambien, I would strongly recommend talking to your doctor about clonidine."

For Opiate Withdrawal "So I have medical conditions (back and head) that caused me to have hydrocodone, oxycodone, Dilaudid, and so on increasing from the accident until now. Wasn't so bad at first, then I realized I became a mega-nasty cow without them, and I wasn't even in pain. I would count my day around when I needed my meds. Finally, one day we took the kids to the beach, and I forgot my purse (with meds in it). I drove 12 miles home to get it and realized it was ruling my life. I talked to my doctor, and he prescribed clonidine. I am not going to lie, I was scared, like I'm going to die scared. But I took 2 mg every 4 hours the first 2 days and then 1 mg the next 4. And I am free! Granted I had Ambien and Klonipin for sleep (only for detox). I hope the best for all of you!"

I hated putting him on medication, however, he is so much happier now that he can control himself."

For Opiate Withdrawal "I'm at the end of day 6 of my detox/withdrawal, and without the clonidine, I couldn't have done it. I have been on Opiates for a few years, and the 120 pills the doctor prescribed every month were usually gone in two weeks, so I had to go buy from a friend, but the ones from him were Morphine. I started getting sick at the beginning of this month, even when taking the prescribed pills, because I don't think the prescription was strong enough to catch up to the Morphine. The first 2 days I had no meds to help me and thought I was going to die, but now that I have the clonidine, I feel much better. Before you start detox, do yourself a favor and get the meds to help you get through it."

For Perimenopausal Symptoms "This is a miracle medication. I have only been on it for a week and it worked the first night! I have suffered hot flushes for 10 years, worsened by a hysterectomy in 2016. I was flushing about every 20 mins, day and night. Now I have only about 3 mild flushes during the day and none at night after just one week! I'm sleeping cool, under the doona, with my clothes on! How good is it to have a full night's sleep?! I feel very positive and look forward to taking the fully prescribed dose of 0.5 tab morning and night. (I'm currently on 0.25 of a tab for another week.) I am 50 years old. This is the best thing that has happened to me in years!"

For Anxiety "This drug has been a lifesaver for me. I had tried everything for generalized anxiety disorder... all the benzos, anti-depressants, etc. I am a vet. lol. With that said, I am not a fan of pharmaceuticals in general, as they have always done more harm than good for me. However, upon taking clonidine for the first time, I felt relief. I finally felt what it was like to NOT have anxiety for the first time in years. I highly recommend this drug to anyone who has suffered from anxiety for too long!"

For Opiate Withdrawal "I was prescribed clonidine for my blood pressure. I was also prescribed 10 mg Norco for female issues. I became addicted to Norco for almost 5 years when I said enough is enough. I had read about clonidine being used with opiate withdrawal, so I gave it a shot, and boy, I have had zero withdrawal symptoms. Unlike before, where I always ended up using again, I'm on day three. I slept well, I'm up having coffee, which I haven't done in a long time - I can't even remember. It made me drowsy the first few days. I was able to lower the dose and haven't taken a dose in the last 12 hours, and I feel fine. If you have the opportunity, please use clonidine. I swear it works."

For Opiate Withdrawal "I am on day 2 of clonidine and so far so good. It has been a godsend. It hasn't fixed everything. I still find myself slightly fatigued and getting headaches if I do too much too fast. Having some lightheadedness and slight dry mouth. But overall, I finally feel I can beat this demon we call addiction. I have an appointment to get the Vivitrol shot next week, and for the first time in years, the future looks bright."

For High Blood Pressure "I'm on three other BP meds, and couldn't get the BP down to normal. The Dr. put me on clonidine, and my BP finally went to normal levels. Unfortunately, the med only lasts for about five or six hours, and my BP goes back up to around 150/90. So far, the only side effect is the dry mouth. I can't say that this is the solution, but it is the first time in about four years that I have had a handle on my BP."
