"My mental calm has been destroyed. After 30 years of being instantly able to access an alpha state of mind, I can no longer get there at all. In just 10 days, this medication has done unbelievable harm to me. It has taken my life away. Although I stopped taking it two days ago, it still has my mind in its tormenting grip. Do not use this drug unless you will die without it."

"I was prescribed Cipro along with prednisolone and ceftazidime intravenous. Started to have dizzy spells as the growth of Pseudomonas in my lungs was heavy. Nausea remains unchanged. Wanted to stop it due to side effects, but the doctor told me to continue due to chances of infection returning. It's not that bad compared to having a killer bacteria in your lungs and taking this nasty drug. My votes towards this drug are positive, I see my infection clearing up. Prescribed for 2 weeks. 1 already gone. 1 more to go."

"Had food poisoning 4 weeks ago, tried treating earlier, but the doctor insisted I ride through it with my symptoms such as diarrhea, dehydration, and nightly chills, hence the length of time. It did not get better, and I was so fed up, so I took Cipro today. Feeling generally tired, nauseous, diarrhea/tummy pain stopped immediately (aware of the side effect as I had used it years ago), hoping all other symptoms will clear by day 3."

"I got a hernia from lifting a suitcase, we suspect. The hernia was inguinal. At the same time, I had a smaller one in the abdominal wall. It was untreated for some time (over a month) as I didn't notice it. I'm not sexual. The doctor said this is not uncommon in males over 40. Discovered all this after an ultrasound. Non-sexual epididymitis from urinary infection. Rx Cipro, immediate abdominal bloat, sluggish and exhausted feeling, and nausea. 2 times/po/daily... Ugh... research into WHY is needed."

"Horrible drug! But potent. I wish I could tolerate this drug. Both times I tried to take it, I only took HALF a 250 mg pill. I had a severe allergic reaction within 15-20 min both times. The first time I got a hot, burning body and blisters in my mouth. The second time was scary. My mouth felt like it was on fire, couldn’t stop sneezing. Eyes burned and hurt. One eye swelled up SO bad. My nose got stuffy and my heart was racing. I slightly struggled to breathe, so I drove to the ER. It took 48 hours for my symptoms to subside, and I had a massive migraine. HOWEVER, this drug did in fact help rather quickly with a stubborn UTI that is embedded in my bladder. It really is a good drug for bacterial infections, but if you suffer side effects from it, just know they can be life-threatening. I would not start with a full dose, and I would make sure I was close to medical professionals when taking it. If I weren’t allergic to sulfa, I would recommend it."

"Was diagnosed with Pseudomonas aeruginosa in mid-summer of 2019. Without looking up the side effects, I took the drug with food like I normally do. No problems. In late 2024, this infection put me in two different hospitals for a total of 13 days. An infectious disease doctor sent me home with a prescription for 750 mg twice per day. This time I looked up the side effects and learned that I should take the drug before eating and wait two hours before my meal. If I had already eaten, then wait six hours before taking the drug. Didn't know this stuff. Because this infection nearly killed me, I followed the directions. Well, I received two side effects. The first was low blood sugar, and the second was pain on the back of my ankle, being the tendon of my infected leg. After a day of pain, I started taking the med with food and that made the pain go away. Calcium, magnesium, and zinc weaken the drug. I'm here researching for alternatives to cipro. Will take a lower dosage if I have to."

"Off of one dose, I got all the bad side effects hours later: sweating, diarrhea, vomiting, skin turning pale, and it felt like I had pins and needles sticking in my head. I can't believe that I have all these side effects on top of food poisoning, it seems very dangerous."

"I was given Cipro for a urinary tract infection, one a day before bedtime. After taking the third pill, I woke up during the night unable to move my right arm at all. I convinced myself that it was going to be all right, and I was able to go back to sleep. I woke up a couple of hours later unable to move my left arm, and within hours I was feeling pain down both legs. The movement came back within hours, but I had pain in all of my joints. I refused to take any more, and the doctor tried to give me another drug of the same family, which I also refused. I continued to have shoulder pains and elbow pains for some time. The pain that had gone down my legs settled completely in my knees. Slowly, over the last many months, the pain has gone from my other joints, but both of my knees are totally destroyed and lock constantly. I went from being active to being unable to climb stairs."

Ciprofloxacin "Cipro is the worst drug ever, makes you paralyzed, wonder how these drug mafias are still making it, they should be arrested. Took one capsule and woke up as if someone is chopping off my legs with a saw. Very commonly prescribed by doctors without any acknowledgment of side effects. Furthermore, they don't believe this drug can do any harm, making it worse."
