For Bladder Infection "I had to stop taking the medicine due to getting yellowing of the skin, fevers, nightmares, severe headaches, dizziness, hot flashes, restlessness, nausea, etc. The medicine was fine until about three days into it, then I began to feel worse, and it was even hard for me to breathe. I may be one of the select few who reacted this way, and I followed everything that I was told to do exactly."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Got my urinary tract infection at 10 pm, and within an hour, I knew I was in trouble with the usual stinging and need to go to the bathroom, but it happened so fast, and before I knew it, I was bleeding quite heavily. Immediately went to emergency and was prescribed Cipro, within an hour, I was getting relief. I'm dizzy and have ringing in my ears, but very relieved the pain is subsiding, hopefully, the bleeding will stop soon."

For Bladder Infection "I had a major bladder infection and was prescribed Cipro. I had diarrhea and dizzy spells the entire time I took this medicine. I told my new primary doctor to prescribe Amoxicillin. He told me that Cipro is better. My former doctor prescribed Amoxil, and I never had problems with that medicine."

For Diverticulitis "Taking Cipro made me almost sicker than the bout of pain. I couldn't function, slept most of every day. Developed thrush, heavily coated tongue. Staggering when walking, off balance at times, thinking process was not normal, crying jags for no reason. This drug in the class of quinolones causes CNS problems. I will never take another in that class. Diarrhea was continuing days after the 10-day course was done. Read Cipro can actually cause C. difficile, and Imodium can aggravate that! It's been one month since I started the ten-day course of Cipro, and I'm still having side effects of CNS."

For Sinusitis "Took this for a sinus infection. Did not clear it up, but about 4 weeks later I had neuropathy in my face, which then spread down over my whole body. Muscle spasms, arthritis, vertigo, blurred vision, headaches, burning nerve pain, tendonitis, even my hair started falling out. Had to do PT just to use my right leg again. Went to multiple neurologists and doctors, but they could not figure it out. Almost a year later, I was given Cipro again and immediately felt like my whole body was on fire. This was around the time they were having hearings at the FDA to add all the black box warnings, so my new doctor figured it out. 5 years later and I'm better, but still can't hike or do things I used to love, and still have nerve and tendon issues. Don't ever take Cipro!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "Despite all the side effects that are plaguing other users, I believe Cipro is worth a try - it is the most effective antibiotic I have been prescribed for UTI, and I experience little to no side effects. The only time I tried to take Macrobid, I experienced fever, nausea, muscle pain, dizziness, and had to call in sick to work last minute because I'd slept through the whole day prior. So considering alternatives, I trust Cipro for MY use."
