"Taking Zyrtec LITERALLY... not only deceived me, but ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED my body!!! All this while eating organic & vegan plus teaching classes in the fitness industry (oh how humiliating)... & just deteriorating from the once healthy person that I was. My collagen & elasticity is SHOT after I went through the EXCRUCIATING withdrawal process!!! Not to mention that I still swell up and down nonstop monthly after taking this sick pill! Metabolism? What metabolism?! Not after Zyrtec! Skin/collagen/elasticity? Not after Zyrtec! And let's talk about my career... All of my credibility is LOST! Try going to work in the industry that once respected you & then look at you like a complete alien because I was covered head to toe in Zyrtec-derived hives & angioedema!!! I lost around $125,000.+ This drug is a silent addictive drug and should be torn off the markets!"

"I have been using Zyrtec for more than 15 years. It perfectly helped me get rid of my chronic idiopathic urticaria. When I don't take the pill, the next day, itching starts. Also, I can't sleep well in case I forget to take my pill at night."

"I have a love-hate relationship with this drug. My chronic hives/urticaria and angioedema made my quality of life abysmal, low energy, pain, mental fatigue, and low self-esteem with my appearance. I have had hives for 2+ years now. Taking this does help. I recall taking a lower dose at the beginning, but as time passed my condition would go back to how it was, and the dosage I took would be upped. As of Feb 16, 2023, I'm taking a huge dose to have a lower amount of hives. I plan to up it again as the hives swelling are interfering with my quality of life again. As it's paid out of pocket, but it's the only thing that works for me."

"I went in to the doctor's because I have a rash all over my body, and he prescribed cetirizine. All it did was make me sleepy, the rash got worse. Then a different doctor looked at me three weeks later and determined I had scabies. Cetirizine really messed up my schedule. Being a college student, I fell behind because I was not able to keep up with homework."

Cetirizine "I love this product. I've been taking the generic version lately and have had to take two with no symptom relief (still sneezing violently and itchy, watery eyes). I recommend Zyrtec as the first option."

"I've been taking the generic for 3 months. Glad to see other posters talking about the grogginess and sedated feeling the next day after taking it at night. Just a few breakouts that are gone by morning along with my energy. The one thing is I take it at night and can't sleep for about 2-4 hours after taking it."

Cetirizine "CIU or Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria has been my recent diagnosis. I've had outbreaks of hives for many, many years, lasting from weeks to months. Most recently, I've been seeing a specialist, and he has me on cyclosporine. Tough drug to take but cleared my hives, and if I have an occasional small outbreak, Zyrtec does the trick and knocks it out. I also had a shot that was doctor-recommended, and the first dose cleared my hives, but the second did not, so on to the cyclosporine."

"I've had chronic urticaria for the last 6 months. My allergist has me taking 4 Zyrtec a day: two in the morning and two at night. I also take 300 mg ranitidine twice a day and just added Singulair because I'm still having hives with all these meds. I end up with angioedema (facial swelling) and have to take prednisone. Seems as if it's getting worse and nothing's helping."

Cetirizine "I suffered from chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU) for the past 5 months. So initially, I consulted a dermatologist, and he said, 'It's just a food reaction,' so he gave me some drugs. After 1 week, it got worse, and I was worried but continued to take the medicine he gave. Parallely, I searched about urticaria on the internet and understood I had CIU. I started worrying every night I got these hives, it was painful to sleep (all over my body). After some days, I got them on my face and head. It was stressful both physically and mentally. Again, I approached my doctor, he said, 'It's not easy to identify why these hives occur,' and he gave me Zyrtec 10 mg, which I used to take after my night meal every day. Later, after a month, I asked myself why I need to take this for the rest of my life."

Cetirizine "Oh wow! I'm going on nonstop itching for 3 months. Doc had me on Medrol dose pack, Prilosec, and Benadryl. Yah, worked great 'til the dose pack ran out. Quit eating everything but oatmeal and Fairlife lactose-free milk out of sheer desperation. This is completely off-the-charts maddening. Changed everything scent-free: organic soaps, lotions, DEFT detergent, air purifiers, air filters, HEPA vacuum filters, NOTHING helps. Starting on 2 generic Zyrtec and 1 Allegra. God willing, this works. All the doctors do anymore is scratch their heads. Pathetic."

"I have taken Zyrtec or the over-the-counter with a similar name like Walzyr. Anyway, other than a rare occasional large hive, and probably due to missing a dose, I have been great. But I got this idea (to save more money) that I should have the doctor prescribe cetirizine generic. You would think that would be OK, but I have been broken out in fine hives and a few welts. Also, some spots that are a little dry like my eczema. My skin has never itched this extremely. First, I had it on upper right arm, which has finally recovered, but it continues to move and I break out all over the last 26 to 28 days. I am switching back to the drug I used before. We will see if it is a medication issue. Wish me luck!"
