"I have been on antidepressants all my life. I have taken all medications available in the market. I started Auvelity 3 days ago. I was told to stop my two other antidepressants the day I started Auvelity. I have an enormous feeling of anxiety and despair. I am extremely depressed, unmotivated, flat affect. I don't want to do anything except hide under the covers. The only problem is that my body won't allow me to relax because I have anxiety and restlessness. It's Sunday. I will stick with the medication, but I think I feel worse."

"I had just started taking this medication as I am diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, bipolar 2, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I was previously prescribed fluoxetine (Prozac) for depression. After about 2 months of being on it, I started to wonder if it was even doing anything. I brought it up with my HCP, and she recommended that I should try Auvelity. I had no issue with trying a new medication, especially because after reading the reviews, people said that they almost saw a positive instantaneous reaction. The first day I had taken it, I felt normal until around mid-day, and that is when I had one of the most intense and genuinely terrifying panic attacks I've ever experienced. I could not breathe or even speak, and it felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. Luckily, this only lasted for about 30 minutes until I had calmed down. The second day was even worse. I was enduring intense and extreme, almost debilitating paranoia."

"Unfortunately, this medication made me really sick. The side effects described came on after 10-12 days on the full dose: severe anxiety, loss of appetite, headaches. All came together with severity, so be careful with this drug. I had never experienced this before, and it was awful."

"My psychiatrist said a relatively new medication is helping patients like me. I've tried many antidepressants over 12 long, frustrating years and never saw results that were anything better than slight improvement of some symptoms. Then even the tiny improvements would disappear after a few months. From what I've read so far about Auvelity, my current symptoms and psychiatric history are in line with the kind of patient this medication is designed to help. That being the case, I am writing this review the day before I begin taking Auvelity and want to update my experience in real time. In 12 years of seeking relief from overwhelming depression, this is the first I've ever heard of a depression medication that takes fewer than 8 weeks to show any results. I'm encouraged by the clinical results I've looked into. I'm giving a 10/10 rating because it won't allow me to not choose a number, and I don't want to drag the average down if this ends up being amazing. (If not, I will say so!)"

"I am on week two now. I would say this medication works fast. I was so depressed, but it changed the way I think and feel. No side effects for me, but just on the first day, I felt nauseous. I like it for real. I will keep you updated, guys."

"I have been on just about every depression medication there is, and up until 5 days ago, was taking 5 different depression medications. They weren't helping much. Today I am on Day 5 of Auvelity. It has changed my life almost overnight. I feel 'normal' - no negative thoughts, no mood swings, no depression, very little anxiety. I was very skeptical about trying a new med, but I had to do something because life was not working for me. I am currently still on the lowest dose of 45mg/105mg. I have not noticed any side effects, which I was concerned about because I can be very sensitive to changes in my meds. I take one tablet first thing in the morning right now - it's very easy to use. I am not sure I really need to titrate up to two tablets a day at this point. I think Auvelity saved my life, it is truly miraculous how well it works! My thanks to Axsome, who developed this medication."

"I’ve been on many SSRIs, SNRIs, Wellbutrin, Lithium, Lamictal, Latuda, tried TMS, had 20 IV ketamine treatments. Ketamine worked the first round but not as well the second. Auvelity was a miracle drug for me. I cross-tapered off Wellbutrin while dosing up on Auvelity and felt “high” for 10 days. Cut back to 1 Auvelity at night (off all other Wellbutrin at that point) and that did the trick. No side effects, appetite back, no anxiety, no depression. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years. Only taking 1 Auvelity, nothing else. Insurance covered after submitting a request. I’ve been taking it now for 3 months."

"I've struggled with depression for 30 years. Over the years, many medications have helped, but many have not. Last May, I had been doing well for many years when a health condition derailed me. Changed some meds, did not work. There are so many things to implement to help one's depression, and medication is one of those. I have been on Auvelity for 3 1/2 weeks, started on a half dose, or one pill a day for three weeks, and increased to the normal dose yesterday. When depression 'lifts,' I can usually feel it lift. This medication has really helped me, I am encouraged. Don't be afraid to try this medication because it's something new, give it time. The one-week quick fix didn't really work for me, it's taken a good 14 days or so, but better than 8 weeks only to feel zero improvements. The health savings card really helps, it pays $4,000 per calendar year. The side effects have been diarrhea, but it's better, I don't feel jazzed up. I can focus better, humor is better."

"I tried several different drugs that didn’t work very well for me and was starting to get frustrated. Auvelity began working within one week and has helped me IMMENSELY. I am finally able to get through the day without crying. My panic attacks have lessened. I am excited about my future (can’t remember the last time that happened). It is very expensive, but there is a voucher to get it for $10! Search Auvelity $10 voucher/coupon and show it to your pharmacist."

"Switched two weeks ago from 450 mg Wellbutrin AM to Auvelity AM and pm. I also take Lamictal and Fetzima for depression, Vyvanse for focus, Klonopin pm for anxiety, and Ambien, gabapentin, baclofen, and Vyepti for migraine prevention, which have some interactions with my depression meds. My mood is definitely better, as is my motivation beyond basics like getting dressed, eating, etc. I’m starting to handle more complex things and tackle important projects that my guilt, shame, and fear made impossible. My ability to think clearly and focus fades when the Vyvanse ends around 2 pm. Still struggling with other depressive symptoms and having strange side effects: dizziness, eyesight problems, and lack of appetite. It’s like I move my head and my eyes are a second behind. Really tough. I get crazy sugar cravings every night. I’m hoping dizziness, eyesight, and cravings fade. Otherwise, I like it a lot. Hate taking two times a day, though. Insurance took two months despite my savings card!"

"I wrote a review previously on day 3. I wanted to give an update after day 10 since they advertise it to work by day 7. I rated it a 10/10 then, and I rate it a 10/10 now. I notice that I’m more productive and positive. I’ve kept up with cleaning the dishes, my apartment, and going to the gym. These things are easy for me to do when they once were a pain. I put away small stuff like my plate after I eat instead of just letting it sit there. The only negative thing that I’ve noticed is that at the 6-7 hour mark after taking the first dose, I develop a headache, and I can tell that the medication is wearing off. Auvelity requires you to take two doses a day 8 hours apart. I kind of notice the depression seeping through at around the 7-hour mark, but then it goes away again when I take the 2nd dose. I have PTSD and this med also quiets the ruminating thoughts and hypervigilance."

"This is hands down the most effective antidepressant on the market today. Saw major improvements within 3 days of taking this medication. Nothing of its kind out there and really blows the other medications out of the park. If you have treatment-resistant depression, I would recommend Auvelity to anyone. It makes you see life on a whole new level."

"I haven’t ever made a review on antidepressant medication because none ever wowed me. I’ve tried multiple SSRIs and SNRIs: Prozac, Zoloft, Effexor, Wellbutrin, Paxil. Effexor and Prozac helped a bit for me but nothing close to “clinically significant changes”. I have been on Auvelity for only 3 days and I am noticing from day one a change in my mood, outlook, and motivation. They have all improved. I have PTSD and a long history of trauma. Before the trauma, I used to look at small things and find beauty in it… I would smile at little things. Trauma changed all that. But after just 3 days on Auvelity, I feel there’s beauty in the world again. I went to the grocery store and saw this little chick plush toy which was so fuzzy and cute and I actually smiled at it. Something so small put a smile on my face. I feel like Auvelity has brought my soul back. I am excited for hitting day 7 on this med. I have Medicaid and they paid for Auvelity."

"Auvelity gave me, from day one, relief from all anxiety and depression. It was like a light switch that turned off the depression and anxiety and turned on feeling normal. This drug is a game changer. I used the manufacturer coupon to help cover my Rx copay, my out-of-pocket cost is only $10/month. I’m one week into treatment and tentatively sticking to one pill per day in the morning, but may increase it to two a day in the future. Zero side effects so far."

"This medication is amazing. I have MDD, GAD, and PTSD, and I have tried many different medications over the past 30 years. This is a wonder drug. It works very fast. It has helped my depression immensely, but it has equally helped my anxiety and my PTSD. I am not euphoric, but I am calm with a sense of well-being. My advice if you are just starting this medication is to give it a few weeks to get through any side effects because the benefits once you get through the first few weeks are incredible. This is a game-changing medication because like Ketamine, it works on Glutamate as opposed to SSRIs that work on Serotonin. This is a great medication."

"This antidepressant has caused severe dizzy spells for hours on end, even after having taken it for a week. It also has increased my anxiety and seems to be making my tinnitus significantly louder. Not impressed."

"After the fourth day, I developed a violent cough. My doctor instructed me to stop taking the medication, but the frequent dry cough persisted for 2 months. I was previously prescribed Wellbutrin 20 years ago, which at that time was the best drug for me and lasted for 13 years before it stopped working."

"I just started taking this medication a few days ago and woke up every morning with severe anxiety, and my blood pressure skyrocketed. If you have been diagnosed with hypertension, I wouldn’t recommend you take this. Wellbutrin alone had worked for me in the past as far as my energy levels and depression but gave me bad anxiety and made me sweat more than usual, which increased my body odor, so I stopped taking it. The only reason I started Auvelity was to help with my fatigue, which seemed to help in the past, but I can’t deal with the anxiety it gives me in the mornings. Will have to stop. One of the major benefits is my sexual desire has improved. My doctor added this medication along with Viibryd, which I was already on, which has sexual dysfunction. Altogether, I would give it a 6 out of 10. Would recommend it if you don’t have hypertension or anxiety."

"I have been on 5 different antidepressants (bupropion, Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, ketamine) and I can say that Auvelity is by far the best one so far. No sexual side effects, and my mood feels the best it has ever been in 5 years now since my depression started. Auvelity is even more effective than the ketamine infusions and much less of a hassle. Definitely recommend."

"Started Auvelity 9 days ago. I have major depressive disorder and my medications don't seem to be helping. I currently take 40mg of Lexapro, 150mg of Wellbutrin, 25mg of Seroquel, and 2 Auvelity tablets per day. I'm seeing some improvement as I have more motivation to do more things than what I previously had. I will update you all since this forum has been so helpful while I was researching. Thanks to all of you! I'm not there yet but will keep you all informed."

"I started Auvelity a few days ago. Some background information about me is that I’m on 450 mg of Wellbutrin and 40 mg of Lexapro. Unfortunately, the Wellbutrin or the Lexapro isn’t helping. I’ve been on Wellbutrin for 4 years and Lexapro for 3 years. My question is, have any of you been on Wellbutrin and switched to Auvelity? Doc switched me to one Wellbutrin per day, along with two Auvelity per day. If any of you have had the same experience with this same combination, I’d love to hear about it. I’m curious since Auvelity and Wellbutrin have bupropion in it. Thanks!"
