"I stumbled serendipitously on the combo of Delsym and Wellbutrin after a Covid infection a few weeks ago and was prescribed Auvelity after observing I felt much better with that DIY version. Over the last 3 weeks, I have felt better than I have felt in the last 10 years. I've tried many antidepressants and they must work to some extent (because I felt worse when I’ve tried to stop them) but I was still very tearful, ruminative, irritable, hopeless... like Eeyore, but with anxiety."

"I was on one Auvelity a day (45mg) even though the doctor had prescribed two a day for me. About 8 months after taking one a day, I felt my depression getting worse, so I told my doctor I would take two, his original prescription dosage. Two and a half to three weeks later, I have been experiencing much increased anxiety, feelings of discomfort and restlessness/nervousness, extreme agitation and fear. I did not know what was wrong with me until I decided to look up Auvelity side effects, which is why I will be going back to one tomorrow and calling my doctor. Another disappointment from the medical community that causes more problems."

"I have severe, treatment-resistant depression. Been through four rounds of TMS and 22 medications. Auvelity has been unlike any mental health medication I've taken. The first few days, I felt outside myself, cloudy. When I went up to twice daily, it got to a point where I didn't feel safe driving. I stopped, restarted, went up to two slowly. I started with one dose late in the evening and gradually took it earlier. I then added the second dose before bed. I take it at 10 AM and 10 PM. I don't take it unless I've eaten something. Depression has improved a lot. So has my anxiety and paranoia. No more weird 'high' feelings, but it does make me drowsy. I'm one to struggle to sleep. Not anymore. I close my eyes and I'm out. Sometimes for 10 hours. After the first dose, sometimes I need an energy drink to stay awake. I can't brew the coffee strong enough. But I'm not suicidal. The oppressive, depressed 'doom' feeling is mostly gone. Not perfect, but the best so far."

"Auvelity is a miracle drug for me. I have experienced no side effects whatsoever. I may have negative thoughts in between taking this medication twice a day, but they disappear when I take the second tablet."

"I’m a 41-year-old man who had gone through a very tough time for the last three years. I felt that my life was pointless, that I was only here to be punished. I thought that I had tried my best, but my best was just not good enough. I was hopeless and I thought that I had no future worth fighting for. I didn’t believe a medicine could fix my situation. I thought I was going to have to take some type of narcotic that was nothing more than a 'ball and chain'. I spoke with someone who had recommended I go and get help, at least try to and see what happens. I scheduled with a local place, had taken a few tests and had a few conversations about myself. I was diagnosed with severe depression. I was prescribed Auvelity and instructed to take it as prescribed. After just one week, I feel completely different in a positive way. I didn’t realize just how unhappy and miserable I was before. This medication was the 'breath of fresh air' I was in desperate need of. Thanks to Auvelity."

"I have tried almost every antidepressant there is to no avail. I was scouring the internet because I knew there had to be something different. At my next psychiatry appointment, I asked about Auvelity because I had read how well it worked and my doc was fully on board. When I first began taking it, it honestly made me feel weird, but I didn’t want to stop. So I asked my doctor about taking it at night, and she said yes, that’s perfectly fine, and I went down to 1 pill. This small change has helped tremendously, and I no longer have side effects, but I still feel like I need something more, so I am going to try taking the second pill in the morning, and I really feel like that will get me over the proverbial hump. I also take Vyvanse for ADHD, Lexapro (which I plan on getting off of), and Trazodone for sleep. I think I have found what works for me finally."

"Complete life-changer. After 40 years of trying multiple treatments, including ECT, this med works wonderfully. By virtually eliminating my depression (rumination, negative self-talk, hopelessness), the anxiety also disappeared. After decades of ingesting all sorts of chemical cocktails to treat depression, I now take only Auvelity, amlodipine, and vitamin D3, and honestly, have never felt better. Only ECT has worked this well for me. My Sjogren's symptoms are not as aggravating, and life itself is much brighter. I felt Auvelity working within a week and have been taking it twice a day for 4 months now. The only “side effect” has been that I need to take the second dose at least 8 hours before bed or I can get jittery when unwinding for the night."

"Started taking this medicine 6 days ago. It started making a difference today because I usually wake up around 3:30 ruminating and very depressed. This morning was much better. I didn't have the negative thoughts as bad and could let go of the rumination. However, after my second dose today, I'm super dizzy and irritable, so I'm hoping that goes away. I had a great day today, and I think it may be working, just not sure if the dizziness is from this medicine or the discontinuation of my Lexapro."

"This stuff is amazing. I'm actually taking Wellbutrin 150 mg 2/day and 30 mg pure DXM tabs 2/day for a couple of months now. I'm 51. I've tried Zoloft, Paxil, was on Lexapro for many years, but nothing even comes close to this --- cough medicine! I discovered this Wellbutrin/DXM combo by accident when I had a nasty cold and was taking DXM on top of the Wellbutrin. The negative self-talk, the depression, the suicidal ideation all went away. I hope it continues!!"

"It has been amazing. I felt better just 2 days later. My psychiatrist suggested a placebo effect, but the change has been too significant for that. My brain is quiet and I feel at peace. I've been on it for about 2 months."

"I was on Wellbutrin for years for mild depression and severe ADHD. It helped keep me motivated and more organized than usual. I started Auvelity a week ago and do think it is helping. I generally feel less negative and worried. Less rumination in my head. But physically, I have had side effects and don't think I can increase to the full dose. I feel a little dissociated 1-2 hours after taking it - light-headed, trouble concentrating, physically buzzy and loopy. Once that passes, I feel a slight nausea come and go throughout the day. I also yawn a lot. I'll give it a month at 1 tablet and see how it goes."

"Is working marvelously. Started taking February 2023 for MDD, suicidality, utter hopelessness. More or less in bed, out of sight, for over 3 years. Developed diabetes while in bed and gained a bunch of weight. Auvelity has completely turned my life around. I could feel it working a few hours after the first dose. Soon I found my BP had risen like 15 percent or so, not a huge amount, and I could totally FEEL the blood pressure at my wrists. It was weird and unsettling. My heart rate went up a bit. I had a big panic attack within 2 weeks. First one ever. My doctor said to stick with the Auvelity and I said ok because I was getting HUGE relief from the stupefying depression. Sure enough the side effects went away. I had heard that side effects could go away and I was skeptical but it was true for me. I really can't pin a single side effect on Auvelity."

"This drug was a lifesaver, literally if you know what I mean. Six months on Prozac (20 mg) after depression's sudden onset was a disaster with trembling, brain fog, chest-pounding anxiety, an eye floater, and gastrointestinal issues. Auvelity started to improve my mood within three days and got better once Prozac was out of the system over about a month. The early side effects were some weird tired feeling in my legs that went away after a few weeks. There is some mild shakiness a few times a day. Today, I tentatively feel like a normal person again and almost like who I was before the depression's onset after about 10 weeks of 1 tablet per day. Going to 2 gave me some anxiety, it seems 1 tablet is good enough for me. There is some fatigue associated with the drug, but it is mild and not every day. I was lucky to get prescribed Auvelity."

"Had to add, my therapist said there is a brightness to me that she has never seen. I've been seeing her weekly since 2017. I'm still on other medications, but I really feel like this has been a life changer. Hopefully, it's not temporary. My psychiatrist is really happy. I'm his first patient on it. I see him every 6 weeks. I really do feel different. Everyone says I seem more calm and relaxed. I sleep better. Never give. 40 years of hell."

"I suffer from a few mental health diagnoses: bipolar I, BPD, PTSD, agoraphobia, ADHD. I also have sleeping issues. I've been on nearly every medication available. I really wanted to try it, and my doctor was on board. He got Medicaid to approve it within a couple of hours. It works!! I actually feel happy sometimes and laugh more. I feel more alive. It's weird, and it's great. I don't get mad all the time. I feel different. I still feel depression. It's just not so heavy constantly. It didn't take long to feel the effects. I can actually think. Yes, it has side effects, they all do, lol. It makes me tired, so I do take a tablet at night. It does cause diarrhea. I take the 2nd in the morning with my Vyvanse. My medications are this: Lamictal (mood stabilizer, nothing else works), Topamax, Adderall, Vyvanse, Clonidine, Prozac. Most of us have been on so many meds we've lost count. Not very often do new meds come out. So far, I'm so thankful I asked my doc."

"I have been on a variety of antidepressants for the past 15 years. I started Effexor about 6 months ago, and it was life-changing, but I still had depression and my anxiety was paralyzing. My psychiatrist put me on Klonopin for anxiety and Auvelity for depression. I was very hopeful this would be the combination that would allow me to function. The first week, I felt amazing despite having intense nausea and generally feeling kinda loopy like being on a pain pill. By week 2, those side effects went away. Now, I can’t wake up and can’t stay awake during the day. At first, it was just general tiredness, but now I fall asleep throughout the day, including while driving, regardless of how much caffeine I have had to help me stay awake. Although my depression has decreased, I go through intense and unexpected mood swings. I can be extremely happy and excited about an upcoming event and then randomly fall into a deep depression while on the way there. After a bit, I’m fine again."

"My experience with Auvelity has been positive. I started feeling better after 2 days on Auvelity. I was depressed for 4 months previously. I felt better for almost 3 months when I relapsed and was depressed for over 2 months while on Auvelity. Although it didn't put me into remission, I believe it shortened the cycle and I felt better when coming out of a depression. I definitely want to continue taking this cutting-edge medicine. I think they are onto something, targeting the NMDA receptors, since all other SSRI drugs haven't worked long-term for me. I've had no side effects while on this drug."

"I've tried so many different antidepressants. This one has made my mood lighter. I feel not so sad. Less crying spells. More motivation to feel like going out and doing something. Not so much hopelessness. More humor. More feeling like being social. (Forgot to say I'm on my second month of this med.) The downside is minimal. When I do yard work or housework - I sweat way more than I used to. Sometimes a little clumsy. Slightly confused at times. A little more forgetful. A little more hungry, but no major weight gain. For me, this med has been a lifesaver. I have enjoyment where before I had very little. I've had some sexual side effects which I don't like. All in all - much improved. Much better. Hope this helps!"

"I have taken antidepressants my entire adult life, since they first became available (Elavil), with varying degrees of success. Finally, about 11 years ago, I was dosed correctly with a cocktail of five drugs, and I did well for almost 10 years. Then last fall, I noticed that the depression seemed to be creeping back in, for no apparent reason. I was afraid to have my meds changed because I was afraid I would get even worse if they were changed, but finally, I became suicidal and knew something had to be done. After a frank talk with my prescriber, she said she had a new med for MDD that she would give me samples of - Auvelity. I didn't hold out much hope, but on DAY ONE, I felt less anxious and steadier, mood-wise. I couldn't believe it. And I have done better ever since. My only problem was, I can't take two in a 24 hr. period - too much sleepiness. But I seem to be doing great on one! This is a miracle drug, but why it's so expensive is beyond me. Still, I'll take it!"

"Six months on this medication. I have suffered from MDD for decades and meds have pooped out, especially when there is a trigger in my life that adds distress. I am still doing well. It took 2 months for it to really start working, but after 6 weeks I really enjoyed conversations again. Those who have diarrhea, I did too and it gets better. Discount card if you have insurance is a blessing. It being a brand new type of medication that targets glutamate should bring hope to many."

"I've been taking this medication for six weeks. It is a life changer. If you also take ketamine infusions, 100% will change your life. I started experiencing some side effects like sleepiness probably after 3-3.5 weeks from the start. I am okay with this side effect. I didn't feel that good since 2005. Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't want to cover it anymore. Not sure what I would do without it. Tried many different prescriptions. ketamine infusions help, but they're crazy pricey, and you need to do it every four weeks. This medication is a game changer."

"I've been on Auvelity for almost 2 months after taking Wellbutrin for 10+ years. Auvelity is vastly superior to Wellbutrin in my experience. Within a few days, I felt my heaviness lifting and a peaceful lightness emerging. I find joy and happiness in small things again and enjoy spending time with my kids, including one with serious special needs. Also, with the chaos that can occur with 4 kids, including 1 with severe autism, my level of agitation is greatly reduced with minimal yelling when they inevitably misbehave. I'm much more effective in staying calm and productively parenting. I feel a deeper connection with myself, others, and the world. My former intense anxiety is greatly reduced. I'm kinder and more compassionate. I've gone from about 8 drinks per week to no need to drink or self-medicate in 60 days. Auvelity is beyond an antidepressant, it's a physically and spiritually uplifting wonder drug."
