"I was about to give up. 30 years trying to find treatment that worked for my MDD. My psychiatrist had gotten some samples of Auvelity that morning, and he recommended I try it. Skeptical that it would work, and since I didn't have to wean myself off the antidepressant I was on, I took one on the way home. About 10 minutes later, it was like a switch was flicked. The heaviness I'd felt disappeared, everything was brighter, and I felt better than I had in 25 years. I was amazed at how fast it worked for me. 3 months later, and it's still working. I'm a new person, enjoying my life instead of sitting in the darkness of my room. The only side effect I have is sudden muscle movement, but it is slight and nonobtrusive. No facial tics. My doc said it was not usual to have such instant results, but many report that they feel better in just days after starting Auvelity. I'm still pinching myself, so happy now with my new life!"

"Improvement in that depression doesn't seem as deep or last as long. Only side effect that interferes with my day is sometimes I am very dizzy and definitely would not drive. I take the regular dose of 45/105 mg twice a day. I do take other meds that might increase the dizziness - my doctor knows all of my meds. I have been taking it for 4 weeks. Simple to take."

"Currently cross-tapering off Zoloft and starting Auvelity. I'm about 5 days in and WOW!!!! The difference I feel so soon, and I'm only taking half a dose?!!! I am amazed. I am 22 and have been diagnosed with MDD, OCD, panic disorder, and anxiety. I am finally enjoying life and starting to wonder if this is what “normal” feels like! I'm excited to see the full effect after completely stopping Zoloft and taking the full dose of Auvelity."

"It has really helped with my depression, and I have been taking it for almost a week, so it’s fast acting. However, the side effects are making me want to stop taking it. I have chest pain, jaw pain, dizziness, horrible headache, excess sweating, vision changes, shortness of breath, and I almost pass out every time I stand up. I’ve continued taking it, though, in hopes that the side effects will subside because it has drastically improved my mental health, and I no longer have suicidal ideation. I love everything about it aside from the side effects."

"I took this medication for 2 months. It did seem to improve my depressive symptoms within the first 72 hours of starting! However, I noticed that my feet were swelling. It got to the point where my left foot and ankle were constantly swollen. I didn't think it had anything to do with this medication, so I continued to take this while I worked with my primary care to figure out what was causing the edema. There were no answers, so I decided to stop Auvelity, and within 48 hours the swelling was gone. I have since stopped taking this medication due to my personal reaction."

"My adult son had tried numerous prescriptions for help with depression, anxiety, and OCD. Auvelity has quieted his OCD (it's still there, but it's not as strong) and has immensely helped his depression. He has started appreciating music and art again, noticing things of beauty. He is hopeful for his future. He usually only takes one tablet per day in the morning."

"I have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder since I was a teen. I’ve tried several medications but always still felt so lethargic and tired. It was so exhausting to do any task and I just generally felt hopeless. I’ve been on Auvelity for about 9 months. It started working within the first week. Not only am I not so exhausted anymore but I actually have energy. My overall mood as a whole has greatly increased. I think this medication is life changing."

"This tablet is used for adult major depression only, and do not drink coffee. Also, avoid tobacco products because it caused me movement problems after having coffee or tobacco products. It treats only depression. I have taken it twice daily, with fixed dosages that cannot be increased, otherwise, it will cause unwanted side effects like hallucinations, seizures, movement problems, etc. Overall, it is very safe and considered a miracle drug for some adult people."

"The absolute best medication I have been on for depression. I have been on everything in the last 20 years and nothing has worked like this. I'm happy, motivated, sleep well, have emotions, and I don't feel hopeless. I am a better mother as well. Such an amazing medication. In the beginning, I did feel 'high' for a lack of better words and lightheaded. I clenched my jaw a bit as well. It’s been 4 months now and I feel great. No weight gain. Sexual side effects were very temporary."

"After trying Ketamine treatments and not being successful, I asked my doctor about trying Auvelity. Well, I finally found an antidepressant that actually worked! After trying 11 different medications and getting frustrated, I was so happy that he told me about this 'new' medication and let me try it. Being 50 and not knowing where all my symptoms were coming from, having MDD, my hypothyroidism, my perimenopause, or just plain getting older!! Being a woman can be tough, only the strong can handle :) I suggest trying Auvelity. It is a pain to get it filled because Kaiser does not 'stock', so I make sure I order before I run out because it can take 2-5 days to come in!"

"Follow-up from the first review. Been on Auvelity for 2 months now. It helped tremendously for depression but not so much for my anxiety. About a month ago, my doctor put me on Buspirone along with Auvelity. My anxiety is now almost totally gone, and my depression remains in remission. I am very grateful for both medications."

"I started taking Auvelity as a supplement to my antidepressant as I became resistant to treatment. At first, I took one a day. I didn’t see much difference. So, my doc switched to 2 a day. I think it helped. But I started having a very dry mouth. It is affecting me, and I am not sure what to do about that."

"My experience has been a positive one. I have been taking it for a few months now and after trying everything else, Auvelity plus Zoloft works. I'm just curious how everyone is paying for this expensive lifesaver."

"I have suffered with MDD for years and have tried numerous medications without success. I was hesitant to take Auvelity because I didn't want to be let down by yet another medication that didn't help me. However, to my surprise, within a week I noticed an improvement in my MDD symptoms. I've been taking it for 3 months now and I cannot picture going back to a life without it. The only noticeable side effect is short bouts of mania, but they don't impair my ability to work and function in my day-to-day life."

"I was very depressed because most of my cats and kittens died from feline panleukopenia. This was in late October and early November. I was recovering from two surgeries in October, which made the depression worse. I started Auvelity in December. Two weeks later, I felt calmer with less anxiety. I wasn't crying every day over losing my cats. I felt a sense of being somewhat more in control of my emotions. I feel better in the morning and I seem to have more energy. Auvelity has been the most effective antidepressant for me. Carol in Idaho"

"I’ve suffered from MDD for over 5 years and have been on many different antidepressants and therapy during this time with no improvement. I had suicidal ideation and panic attacks so severe that I quit my job and spent most of the last year in bed. Within a few days of taking Auvelity, my symptoms decreased and within a couple of weeks, they were gone. My only side effect is that I get a little dizzy when I stand up, which is nothing compared to what I’ve been suffering with. I can’t say enough positive things about this medication, which in my case, has changed my life for the better."

"Right before being prescribed Auvelity, I was probably at my lowest. I saw no hope, no purpose, no point in continuing to fight what felt like a never-ending uphill battle. My psychiatrist switched me from Wellbutrin to Auvelity, and I didn’t feel any change for about a week. I was really discouraged, as I had read that change is usually felt within a few days on this med. Just after the 1-week mark, things changed. I felt lighter, things felt easier. Day by day, my entire view on life started changing. I wasn’t terrified of the future, I wasn’t dreading each and every day, I wasn’t hoping I would be a victim of some great accident to end my suffering. It sounds dramatic and it is, but this med has done so much for me. I am just over a month in and I literally would not be here if I had not started this medication. My only downside is the cost and access of this medication, due to insurance not covering this and the manufacturer coupon not working without it. Fingers crossed."

"I met with a new psychiatrist last week and explained that in the past 24 years I've tried almost every antidepressant but the MAOIs. Nothing helped longer than a month. I stayed on Lexapro since it helped with the irritability, but that went away years ago. He told me about a new antidepressant that is unlike SSRIs in that it takes effect very quickly, rather than weeks or months. I had basically given up any hope, but still agreed to try it. I'm on day 6 and I can already feel it working in a positive way. I have more energy, doing basic tasks don't feel like a major chore, my hygiene has improved, and I started to laugh again. It has been so long since something struck me as funny I thought I would never feel it again. I've also stopped grinding my teeth. I know it has only been a week, and based on past experiences it possibly could fizzle. I am just praying that it doesn't, because I actually feel like a human again."

"This is the first medication that has ever helped me in 30 years. I have treatment-resistant MDD. I have been on Auvelity for 30 days. The first 3 days I was extremely tired, but since then I have not had any side effects, and it has been LIFE-CHANGING for me. I feel calm, no mood swings, no depression. I think for the first time in my life, I am experiencing what 'normal' feels like."

"I take one tablet of Avelity (45 mg of dextromethorphan and 105 mg of bupropion combined) twice a day. Once in the morning, the second around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. I started out with one pill in the morning after three days I moved up to one pill in the morning and one pill in the afternoon. I noticed a brief of relief after approximately 5 to 7 days. After being on it for one month, I started experiencing what I can only describe as a happy panic attack. A happy purge of negative feelings, a purge of all the depression I've been feeling for over 35 years, that I started to truly process things. I have never felt happiness, even as a very young child. After being on Auvelity for about a month, I finally feel what I think is happiness. It's like in those videos where a color-blind person sees color for the first time, or when a deaf person gets a good hearing aid, and they can finally hear their family's voice. It's a very emotional journey and it continues to be emotional."
