"I was on Wellbutrin for years for mild depression and severe ADHD. It helped keep me motivated and more organized than usual. I started Auvelity a week ago and do think it is helping. I generally feel less negative and worried. Less rumination in my head. But physically, I have had side effects and don't think I can increase to the full dose. I feel a little dissociated 1-2 hours after taking it - light-headed, trouble concentrating, physically buzzy and loopy. Once that passes, I feel a slight nausea come and go throughout the day. I also yawn a lot. I'll give it a month at 1 tablet and see how it goes."

"Is working marvelously. Started taking February 2023 for MDD, suicidality, utter hopelessness. More or less in bed, out of sight, for over 3 years. Developed diabetes while in bed and gained a bunch of weight. Auvelity has completely turned my life around. I could feel it working a few hours after the first dose. Soon I found my BP had risen like 15 percent or so, not a huge amount, and I could totally FEEL the blood pressure at my wrists. It was weird and unsettling. My heart rate went up a bit. I had a big panic attack within 2 weeks. First one ever. My doctor said to stick with the Auvelity and I said ok because I was getting HUGE relief from the stupefying depression. Sure enough the side effects went away. I had heard that side effects could go away and I was skeptical but it was true for me. I really can't pin a single side effect on Auvelity."

"This drug was a life saver, literally if you know what I mean. Six months on Prozac (20 mg) after depression sudden onset was a disaster with trembling, brain fog, chest pounding anxiety, an eye floater, and gastrointestinal issues. Auvelity started to improve my mood within three days and got better once Prozac was out of the system over about a month. The early side effects were some weird tired feeling in my legs that went away after a few weeks. There is some mild shakiness a few times a day. Today I tentatively feel like a normal person again and almost like who I was before the depression onset after about 10 weeks of 1 tablet per day. Going to 2 gave me some anxiety, it seems 1 tablet is good enough for me. There is some fatigue associated with the drug but it is mild and not everyday. I was lucky to get prescribed Auvelity."

"Had to add, my therapist said there is a brightness to me that she has never seen. I've been seeing her weekly since 2017. I'm still on other medications, but I really feel like this has been a life changer. Hopefully it's not temporary. My psychiatrist is really happy. I'm his 1st patient on it. I see him every 6 weeks. I really do feel different. Everyone says I seem more calm and relaxed. I sleep better. Never give up. 40 years of hell."

"I suffer from a few mental health diagnoses. Bipolar 1, BPD, PTSD, agoraphobia, Adhd. I also have sleeping issues. I've been on nearly every medication available. I really wanted to try it and my doctor was on board. He got medicaid to approve it within a couple of hours. It works!!. I actually feel happy sometimes and laugh more. I feel more alive. It's weird and it's great. I don't get mad all the time. I feel different. I still feel depression. It's just not so heavy constantly. It didn't take long to feel the effects. I can actually think. Yes it has side effects, they all do lol. It makes me tired. So I do take a tablet at night. It does cause diarrhea. I take the 2nd in the morning with my Vyvanse. My medications are this, Lamictal mood stabilizer (nothing else works) Topamax, Adderall, Vyvanse, Clondine, Prozac. Most of us have been on so many meds we've lost count. Not very often new meds come out. So far I'm so thankful I asked my doc"

"I have been on a variety of antidepressants for the past 15 years. I started Effexor about 6 months ago, and it was life-changing, but I still had depression and my anxiety was paralyzing. My psychiatrist put me on Klonopin for anxiety and Auvelity for depression. I was very hopeful this would be the combination that would allow me to function. The first week, I felt amazing despite having intense nausea and generally feeling kinda loopy like being on a pain pill. By week 2, those side effects went away. Now, I can’t wake up and can’t stay awake during the day. At first, it was just general tiredness, but now I fall asleep throughout the day, including while driving, regardless of how much caffeine I have had to help me stay awake. Although my depression has decreased, I go through intense and unexpected mood swings. I can be extremely happy and excited about an upcoming event and then randomly fall into a deep depression while on the way there. After a bit, I’m fine again."

"My experience with Auvelity has been positive. I started feeling better after 2 days on Auvelity. I was depressed for 4 months previously. I felt better for almost 3 months when I relapsed and was depressed for over 2 months while on Auvelity. Although it didn't put me into remission, I believe it shortened the cycle and I felt better when coming out of a depression. I definitely want to continue taking this cutting-edge medicine. I think they are onto something, targeting the NMDA receptors, since all other SSRI drugs haven't worked long-term for me. I've had no side effects while on this drug."

"I've tried so many different antidepressants. This one has made my mood lighter. I feel not so sad. Less crying spells. More motivation to feel like going out and doing something. Not so much hopelessness. More humor. More feeling like being social. (Forgot to say I'm on my second month of this med.) The downside is minimal. When I do yard work or housework - I sweat way more than I used to. Sometimes a little clumsy. Slightly confused at times. A little more forgetful. A little more hungry, but no major weight gain. For me, this med has been a lifesaver. I have enjoyment where before I had very little. I've had some sexual side effects which I don't like. All in all - much improved. Much better. Hope this helps!"

"I have taken antidepressants my entire adult life, since they first became available (Elavil), with varying degrees of success. Finally, about 11 years ago, I was dosed correctly with a cocktail of five drugs, and I did well for almost 10 years. Then last fall, I noticed that the depression seemed to be creeping back in, for no apparent reason. I was afraid to have my meds changed because I was afraid I would get even worse if they were changed, but finally, I became suicidal and knew something had to be done. After a frank talk with my prescriber, she said she had a new med for MDD that she would give me samples of - Auvelity. I didn't hold out much hope, but on DAY ONE, I felt less anxious and steadier, mood-wise. I couldn't believe it. And I have done better ever since. My only problem was, I can't take two in a 24 hr. period - too much sleepiness. But I seem to be doing great on one! This is a miracle drug, but why it's so expensive is beyond me. Still, I'll take it!"

"Six months on this medication. I have suffered from MDD for decades and meds have pooped out, especially when there is a trigger in my life that adds distress. I am still doing well. It took 2 months for it to really start working, but after 6 weeks I really enjoyed conversations again. Those who have diarrhea, I did too and it gets better. Discount card if you have insurance is a blessing. It being a brand new type of medication that targets glutamate should bring hope to many."

"I've been taking this medication for six weeks. It is a life changer. If you also take ketamine infusions, 100% will change your life. I started experiencing some side effects like sleepiness probably after 3-3.5 weeks from the start. I am okay with this side effect. I didn't feel that good since 2005. Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't want to cover it anymore. Not sure what I would do without it. Tried many different prescriptions. ketamine infusions help, but they're crazy pricey, and you need to do it every four weeks. This medication is a game changer."

"I've been on Auvelity for almost 2 months after taking Wellbutrin for 10+ years. Auvelity is vastly superior to Wellbutrin in my experience. Within a few days, I felt my heaviness lifting and a peaceful lightness emerging. I find joy and happiness in small things again and enjoy spending time with my kids, including one with serious special needs. Also, with the chaos that can occur with 4 kids, including 1 with severe autism, my level of agitation is greatly reduced with minimal yelling when they inevitably misbehave. I'm much more effective in staying calm and productively parenting. I feel a deeper connection with myself, others, and the world. My former intense anxiety is greatly reduced. I'm kinder and more compassionate. I've gone from about 8 drinks per week to no need to drink or self-medicate in 60 days. Auvelity is beyond an antidepressant; it's a physically and spiritually uplifting wonder drug."

"I started taking Auvelity on Mon, 8/14/23. I was prescribed 1 tablet every 12 hours. I also take 200mg of sertraline daily and 10mg of buspirone daily. I felt my depression lift within 24 hours of starting Auvelity. This medication was amazing and I had a new outlook on life again, this time without the damaging side effects ECT. However, by Friday evening, 8/18, I was experiencing a severe headache, dizziness, nausea, and a 'high' feeling like I was on illegal drugs. On Saturday, I started feeling jerky movements in my muscles, and I was getting double vision. On Sunday, I was sent to the ER via ambulance. I had Serotonin Syndrome. This was NOT THE MEDICATION'S FAULT. My prescriber had not decreased my other SSRIs. On Monday, 8/21, buspirone was discontinued, and sertraline decreased to 50mg at night. Auvelity was changed to once daily. I know it's going to take a while for my body to adjust, but today is Friday, 8/25, and I'm feeling really 'loopy' and out of it."

"I've been on Auvelity for 2 weeks now. I swear I felt a difference on day 1 but wanted to wait a while to see if it lasted or if I got any side effects. I can see the beauty in things again & catch myself smiling a lot. I've been majorly depressed since 2012!! This has been a life changer so far. I even have it in me to get up and take care of myself or complete a task that needs done. I'm almost back to who I was before the trauma and MDD. If you've tried a ton of other antidepressants that didn't work, ask your dr about Auvelity! Also, my anxiety has lessened greatly on this med. I don't take my Xanax as nearly as much as I used to before Auvelity. I also take Zoloft (200 mgs a day) still for depression."

"I've been taking Auvelity for 5 months, and I can honestly say I have not felt this good in many years. I have had depression for 40 years. I know I'm still depressed to some degree, but the heaviness is gone. I can find joy easier. I'm rarely suicidal. I felt very weird, dissociated for about the first month. It was like I was walking beside myself and watching my life - I felt separate from the depression. It's very hard to explain. I'm just so glad I stuck with it. I would definitely recommend it. I had been taking Wellbutrin for years."

"I have tried everything. After years of therapy, I finally admitted to my therapist, 'I wake up in terror and lay down to sleep in terror every night, and trust me, I know why.' It has been my baseline for 60 years, and I'm tired of climbing out of this hole every day. In November of 2022, my hole turned into a water well with my feet tied to the bottom, and the water was rising. I lost all interest in everything I loved! Why even be here? In 3 days on this drug, it was like an anvil had been lifted off my mind and soul! I had never felt this way, and I immediately called my doctor. He started laughing and said, 'That's what it feels like to be free of depression.' OMG, I have been on this for 2 weeks and I'm enjoying everything! Even cleaning my house!! My only regret is this wasn't available sooner. At 60 years old, I have started a new life! Watch out world, here I come!"

"I have had MDD for 30 years and I’m 43. I was blessed with a HUGE surprise at 42 by getting pregnant with a vasectomy baby. About 5 months in PPD hit me hard. I was put on Lamictal and Trintellix in addition to Effexor, which I’ve been on for 13 years. It got me feeling “okay”. Then I gained 30 lbs in 2 months and was so angry all the time. I went off of the two, and a month later I couldn’t get out of bed again. I wanted to care for my son but I was just too despondent. I called my psychiatrist and told him I felt like giving up on life. I had been on 18 antidepressants, TMS, Ketamine therapy… I was a lost cause. He prescribed Auvelity and I really wasn’t feeling too positive about it. Today, I’m on day 11. And I cry with happiness. For the first time in 20 years, I feel normal. I can feel my emotions. I can sleep. I have energy. My intrusive thoughts are gone. My suicidal thoughts are gone. I hope this drug does for you what it did for me."

"I had treatment-resistant depression. I happened to be on Wellbutrin in late 2018 (very little help) when I read about AXS-05. I added dextromethorphan (cough syrup at Walmart) at the ratio Axsome was using and improved greatly on day 2. The suicidal ideation I had had since at least age 6 disappeared. I obtained a prescription for Auvelity as soon as possible last fall. I did so mainly for safety concerns, but my mental health improved as well, again on day 2, to my surprise. I've never had any side effects. It saved my life (I'm a suicide survivor). I'm 71, I'll take it for the rest of my life."

"Transitioned to this after years on Zoloft (and seeing a major decline in effectiveness of the Zoloft over the last year). The transition was smooth compared to other med switches I've done - minimal nausea for the first 2-3 days and then no more undesirable side effects. I actually felt better so quickly I wondered if I was imagining the result because it did help with my depression within the first week, more so than the Zoloft ever had. I've been very, very happy and impressed with Auvelity these first 6 months and would absolutely recommend it if it's suitable for your conditions."

"My husband has suffered from treatment-resistant MDD, PTSD, and severe social anxiety his entire life. He is 64. He has tried every medication you can imagine, TMS treatments, and ketamine. We discovered Auvelity and immediately asked the psychiatrist about it. He had not prescribed it before but agreed to let him try it. He immediately started feeling an improvement. Now 4 months in, and he has zero anxiety and has stopped the diazepam. Says he has never felt the way he does now. He is out of bed early in the morning and out the door working, his appetite is back, the night terrors have stopped, and he can only guess that this is what 'normal' feels like. Something he has never felt before. I hope the medication continues working."
