"I have been taking this drug for about 2 months. I have been having excessive hair loss shedding daily where I had to cut it off."

"I have MDD, and I tried many different medications when my doctor suggested Auvelity. It's really changed my life! My children and my family have both told me that I am more like myself and the mom they know than what I was. I would definitely recommend it if you were having trouble finding the right medication. I went from laying around, crying all the time, not wanting to leave the house to being able to go out on my own, and I feel like my old self. I was getting to the point where I was just so tired of feeling that way. I was having bad thoughts about hurting myself because I just wanted it to be over, I didn't want to feel so down anymore. I definitely would not push medication on anybody, but Auvelity changed my life. I take one pill twice daily. So far, I haven't noticed any bad side effects. The pills are no bigger than a Tylenol, so it's super easy to take."

"I’ve tried a number of medications for my anxiety and depression over the years. Prozac was the only one that truly helped, though after about 5 years the benefits started to subside. Over the last few months, I’ve tried a few other medicines. I tried Auvelity hoping it might improve mood and motivation, and I was hopeful due to positive reviews and the slight feelings of improvement I noticed. In the first week, however, I experienced very vivid dreams, flu-like symptoms including nausea, faintness, and overheating, as well as sleep disruption. My body felt extremely hyper-aware, as if I could feel every heartbeat and even subtle eye movements, and I never got to the twice-a-day dosing (only took 1 per day). After several weeks, I noticed no meaningful improvement in mood, energy, or motivation. I think those with sensitive nervous systems or heightened sensitivity to medications may find the side effects difficult to tolerate, and for me, they outweighed any benefits."

"I have never written a medication review. I have tried every other type of medication for depression, and they all made me feel worse or zombie-like. Auvelity started lifting my mood within hours. After about a week, I did experience dissociation, fatigue, and major anxiety. However, I stuck it out because it was the first medication I ever felt major symptom relief from and saw other reviews that they had those bad side effects but stuck it out. Now it has been about a month, and I am the happiest I have ever been. I am motivated, it has helped my ADHD more than stimulants, and I am a way better mom, partner, and friend. I am much less irritable and am happy to wake up every day. I did not believe any medication would help me, but Auvelity has been life-changing and a miracle for me!!"

"It has changed my life! Never thought I’d be saying this. I had been on bupropion for probably 25 years, but I knew something was missing. I tried all kinds of add-ons, but nothing helped. Then I tried Auvelity, and after a week, I noticed the change. My mood totally lifted, things that used to irritate the heck out of me no longer irritate me, my thinking is much more thought through. My anxiety used to be off the chain, not anymore."

"I know many are going to laugh, but I felt a difference two hours or less after taking the first pill. I suffer from MDD and GAD and have tried everything in the book. While waiting on the Psych E.D. 3 weeks ago, I asked my fiancé to Google Nest newer antidepressants. Auvelity came up at or near the top of the list. Before being brought back for my third visit to the E.D., I started reading about it and how people rave about it. In fact, I have never seen an 8.5 score for any drug. We got back to the psych on call as I was suffering and falling fast. I have found that as I get older (63), my symptoms are worsening. She actually never heard of the med! I got the psych on duty to prescribe it. I started yesterday and while it may be placebo, I felt an immediate change. Anxiety gone, no ruminating bad thoughts. Today is day 2, same thing. Has anybody responded that fast? I will update as I go along. I know there is no magic pill, but I'm hoping this is."

"This medication is the only medication that has worked for me. I have bipolar depression as well as anxiety, and this medication has changed my life but with some side effects. My anxiety is higher now, and it is easier to trigger with sodas. :( I have horrible heartburn. I can stay awake for a long time and have to take some sleeping medication to help me sleep. The biggest and worst side effect here is sexual function problems, like getting and keeping erections and trouble climaxing. My libido went down some. I have to take Cialis now. Bummer. Sexual function problems were the reason why I switched to lithium for about two weeks, but I switched right back to Auvelity because the lithium made EVERYTHING worse. My moods were all over the place and my anxiety was awful."

"I've struggled with depression since I was 19—I'm now 32. After contracting COVID in late 2021, my depression became seemingly untreatable. I tried several different medications, but they were either ineffective or made things worse. I was on the verge of starting ketamine treatment when my doctor mentioned Auvelity as a possible alternative. Since I had previously been on Wellbutrin, we weren’t sure if insurance would cover it—but thankfully, it does, and I’m only paying $10 a month. I’ve been on Auvelity for just one month, and oh my goodness—it’s been a lifesaver. At first, I felt foggy, had memory issues, and experienced a strange dryness I can’t quite explain. But after about three weeks, the benefits kicked in. I finally feel like myself again—like I did before COVID. Hope is not lost after all!"

"This medication has changed my life. I was scared to try it after so many bad experiences, but it began working in only 30 minutes on Day 1. My anxiety lifted. Dark thoughts were simply not there. After a month, I began taking two per day, and that is the magic number. Now I laugh at my husband’s bad jokes, am eager to start my days, and (most importantly of all) can paint again. The only negative side effect has been a worsening of the ability to read fine print. But I’ll take that over depression any day. Oh—add the cost. I’m not eligible for Auvelity’s discounts because I’m on Medicare. I had to find a plan that had a low out-of-pocket cost for the year ($2,000)."

"I’m 44, began antidepressants at age 16. You name it, and I’ve tried it: SSRIs and SNRIs. I want to mention that I was already on Wellbutrin with little, but some success. When my doctor changed it to Auvelity, I noticed a difference the next day. Every day, my depression and mood improved. I’ve been on it for about 6 months now, and I can’t rave about it enough. If you have depression, I highly recommend you try it out. The way my doctor described it to me was while our bodies metabolize the bupropion, it gives the dextromethorphan a chance to work in the glutamate part of the brain, the same area ketamine works on. He said that’s why this medication works so well."

"Game changer! This medicine is amazing, within a week, I feel happy and optimistic. The thoughts that haunted me, that I obsessed over, that made living hard are blocked, it is unbelievable. Yes, I know I had bad thoughts, but it is like my brain will not go to the 'flight or fight' path of thinking. Just wow."

"I have been suffering major depression, anxiety since college graduation. That was 50 years ago. Since then, I have tried EVERY SRI, SNRI, and other classic antidepressants with ZERO positive effects. Waiting the 10-14 days to feel a therapeutic effect was always and every time completely disappointing. FINALLY, my doctor suggested Auvelity. Within only a few days, I noticed I was feeling better, it was shocking! What's VERY good? Auvelity is dextromethorphan and Wellbutrin (oddly, Wellbutrin never worked for me and made me feel lousy). I describe Auvelity's fast effect as like that of a shot of whiskey. Since every other antidepressant took weeks to not work for me, I was shocked by the almost instant change in my mood and disposition!! The stuff worked for me! Since the main component is dextromethorphan (same as OTC cough syrup), I'm not afraid of it."

"I have been on every antidepressant over the past 40 years, and they all have given me just enough help to get by. This Auvelity is a wonder drug. I’m up to taking 2 tablets a day, and I’m only 7 days in, and I feel like a normal human being. I’m smiling, joking around with people. I can’t believe only 7 days in and I feel this good. It’s amazing. And my insurance covered it!"

"I took Auvelity for about 3 months. I suffer from MDD, SAD, and GAD. I also work in health care and am on my feet all day. I felt a difference in my energy after the first few doses of this med. It helped me tremendously that first month when I was suffering with depression. After the next few months, I had to stop taking this med due to my severe GAD and insomnia. I think this med is excellent and effective with individuals with treatment-resistant depression, who suffer more from depression vs. anxiety. Some of us, like me :), just have too much anxiety to tolerate it. I am not saying this med causes anxiety, I cannot give it a bad rep because it truly did help my seasonal depression/MDD episodes, and I am thankful that I was able to take this medication! I just need something less stimulating due to my anxiety and insomnia. If you are suffering deeply with MDD and cannot get relief from a regular SSRI, I recommend it. I hope it helps you like it did for me when I needed it :)"

"I have taken so many medications. Zoloft, Cymbalta, Effexor, etc. The list goes on. This is the best medication I have taken for my depression. I haven't felt this clear-headed on a medication before. I don't have my heavy lows, and I don't feel as though I'm heavily medicated. There wasn't a big process to go on it or come off of it. I recommend asking your doctor if you could be a good fit for this medication."

"I felt better within days, and all side effects went away after a few weeks. I only take one pill a day, and it had put my depression into remission. No other drugs have ever worked for me, so I’m glad this new drug is available. I’ve been on it for six months."

"It has brought back my old younger self. Back to being a spitfire, which is a good and bad thing, but nonetheless, I'd say it helps. Lots of energy back. It can be extremely expensive without insurance, but the website for Auvelity had the ability to help with costs."

"I’ve been on Auvelity twice a day for about 6 months now, and although it has helped me tremendously, I started having an abnormal amount of vaginal discharge that started a couple of weeks after taking it and hasn’t stopped. I’ve been checked for everything and ruled everything else out, and even going down to 1 pill a day has only decreased the discharge by only a small amount. Is anyone else having this issue? I wouldn’t mind if it were normal discharge, but it’s slightly tinted (as is the medication), so it makes me very self-conscious."

"I've had depression since I was 18, which after 37 I had PTSD and MDD. I've dealt with a lot of trauma and anxiety. I have been on all kinds of antidepressants, and none of them have worked. Until Auvelity!!! We stopped Cymbalta, and it was like the blinders were lifted from my eyes and a weight from my chest. I could actually function again. Auvelity for the win!!"

"I never ever write reviews, but I feel like my experience may help someone who is apprehensive about trying Auvelity. I have suffered from medication-resistant major depressive disorder for 21 years. I have been on every antidepressant medication there is, with no relief. I came to the realization that my depression would last a lifetime and I would just live in misery until I died. My psychiatrist suggested Auvelity, and I was not excited to try this medicine since my depression was untreatable. However, I gave it a try, and I'm glad I did. This medicine is a miracle pill, and I am actually surprised how fast and how effective it is. My depression has lifted significantly, and I am able to enjoy life more. I don't know if my depression would be treatable with this medication. I love it."

"Really the first anti I've been on that made me feel like it was working. The first three weeks I had a cough med high that was pleasant. I've been on Auvelity for 6 months and had some strange side effects. I will gladly take losing my sex drive over losing myself in a dark pit. I can't say I'm doing a lot better, but I'm actually working with it for a change. I've been on them all, placebo effects almost always, but this hasn't diminished. Every antidepressant or antipsychotic did the same thing… start off great, then a few months later I was more aware of my depression and completely lethargic. I know this isn't listed on what Auvelity treats, but I suffered headaches almost daily and migraines 6-10 per month, but they have much improved. The daily headaches 90% improved. Migraines 75% maybe more. That alone is happiness."

"Just started taking the drug. You can feel the effects of dextromethorphan from the get-go. I was already on Wellbutrin, so I had to step down on my dosage to compensate. I've got a mild headache, and sex is still good. Make sure you get the savings card. Will knock the price down significantly."

"I developed situational depression after we tragically lost our only daughter. Almost 4 years later, on Viibryd and Buspirone with minimal results, my psychiatrist put me on Auvelity. I am having the Viibryd titrated off. I am on day 3 and already feel better. How can this be? While we will always miss our daughter, it is sadness, not depression nor anxiety. I am feeling more like myself... my husband has commented thusly also. I hope this continues! I was apprehensive to start a new drug, but no side effects for me. Bless the makers of this med! I take 2 pills a day, spaced at least 8 hours apart."

"For me, this is an actual magic pill. Within two days of starting it, I'm not crying, hopeless, wishing I was dead, no appetite, sleeping all day, etc. I feel like myself. Not a numb zombie version of me either. It made me a little sleepy at first, but that got better. Dosing 8 hours apart is very silly and inconvenient, and I have a great response taking once a day. The price is beyond unethical without insurance coverage. For that reason, I really resent that I'm supporting the company (you made a medicine that is the fastest-ever treatment for depression! But then it's only for rich people??) but unfortunately, there's no generic yet."
