"I started taking Auvelity as a supplement to my antidepressant as I became resistant to treatment. At first, I took one a day. I didn’t see much difference. So, my doc switched to 2 a day. I think it helped. But I started having a very dry mouth. It is affecting me, and I am not sure what to do about that."

"I have suffered with MDD for years and have tried numerous medications without success. I was hesitant to take Auvelity because I didn't want to be let down by yet another medication that didn't help me. However, to my surprise, within a week I noticed an improvement in my MDD symptoms. I've been taking it for 3 months now and I cannot picture going back to a life without it. The only noticeable side effect is short bouts of mania, but they don't impair my ability to work and function in my day-to-day life."

"I was very depressed because most of my cats and kittens died from feline panleukopenia. This was in late October and early November. I was recovering from two surgeries in October, which made the depression worse. I started Auvelity in December. Two weeks later, I felt calmer with less anxiety. I wasn't crying every day over losing my cats. I felt a sense of being somewhat more in control of my emotions. I feel better in the morning and I seem to have more energy. "I’ve suffered from MDD for over 5 years and have been on many different antidepressants and therapy during this time with no improvement. I had suicidal ideation and panic attacks so severe that I quit my job and spent most of the last year in bed. Within a few days of taking Auvelity, my symptoms decreased and within a couple of weeks, they were gone. My only side effect is that I get a little dizzy when I stand up, which is nothing compared to what I’ve been suffering with. I can’t say enough positive things about this medication, which in my case, has changed my life for the better."

"Right before being prescribed Auvelity, I was probably at my lowest. I saw no hope, no purpose, no point in continuing to fight what felt like a never-ending uphill battle. My psychiatrist switched me from Wellbutrin to Auvelity, and I didn’t feel any change for about a week. I was really discouraged, as I had read that change is usually felt within a few days on this med. Just after the 1-week mark, things changed. I felt lighter, things felt easier. Day by day, my entire view on life started changing. I wasn’t terrified of the future, I wasn’t dreading each and every day, I wasn’t hoping I would be a victim of some great accident to end my suffering. It sounds dramatic and it is, but this med has done so much for me. I am just over a month in and I literally would not be here if I had not started this medication. My only downside is the cost and access of this medication, due to insurance not covering this and the manufacturer coupon not working without it. Fingers crossed."

"I met with a new psychiatrist last week and explained that in the past 24 years I've tried almost every antidepressant but the MAOIs. Nothing helped longer than a month. I stayed on Lexapro since it helped with the irritability, but that went away years ago. He told me about a new antidepressant that is unlike SSRIs in that it takes effect very quickly, rather than weeks or months. I had basically given up any hope, but still agreed to try it. I'm on day 6 and I can already feel it working in a positive way. I have more energy, doing basic tasks don't feel like a major chore, my hygiene has improved, and I started to laugh again. It has been so long since something struck me as funny I thought I would never feel it again. I've also stopped grinding my teeth. I know it has only been a week, and based on past experiences it possibly could fizzle. I am just praying that it doesn't, because I actually feel like a human again."

"I take one tablet of Avelity (45 mg of dextromethorphan and 105 mg of bupropion combined) twice a day. Once in the morning, the second around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. I started out with one pill in the morning after three days I moved up to one pill in the morning and one pill in the afternoon. I noticed a brief of relief after approximately 5 to 7 days. After being on it for one month, I started experiencing what I can only describe as a happy panic attack. A happy purge of negative feelings, a purge of all the depression I've been feeling for over 35 years, that I started to truly process things. I have never felt happiness, even as a very young child. After being on Auvelity for about a month, I finally feel what I think is happiness. It's like in those videos where a color-blind person sees color for the first time, or when a deaf person gets a good hearing aid, and they can finally hear their family's voice. It's a very emotional journey and it continues to be emotional."

"I stumbled serendipitously on the combo of Delsym and Wellbutrin after a Covid infection a few weeks ago and was prescribed Auvelity after observing I felt much better with that DIY version. Over the last 3 weeks, I have felt better than I have felt in the last 10 years. I've tried many antidepressants and they must work to some extent (because I felt worse when I’ve tried to stop them) but I was still very tearful, ruminative, irritable, hopeless... like Eeyore, but with anxiety."

"I was on one Auvelity a day (45mg) even though the doctor had prescribed two a day for me. About 8 months after taking one a day, I felt my depression getting worse, so I told my doctor I would take two, his original prescription dosage. Two and a half to three weeks later, I have been experiencing much increased anxiety, feelings of discomfort and restlessness/nervousness, extreme agitation and fear. I did not know what was wrong with me until I decided to look up Auvelity side effects, which is why I will be going back to one tomorrow and calling my doctor. "I have severe, treatment-resistant depression. Been through four rounds of TMS and 22 medications. Auvelity has been unlike any mental health medication I've taken. The first few days, I felt outside myself, cloudy. When I went up to twice daily, it got to a point where I didn't feel safe driving. I stopped, restarted, went up to two slowly. I started with one dose late in the evening and gradually took it earlier. I then added the second dose before bed. I take it at 10 AM and 10 PM. I don't take it unless I've eaten something. Depression has improved a lot. So has my anxiety and paranoia. No more weird 'high' feelings, but it does make me drowsy. I'm one to struggle to sleep. Not anymore. I close my eyes and I'm out. Sometimes for 10 hours. After the first dose, sometimes I need an energy drink to stay awake. I can't brew the coffee strong enough. But I'm not suicidal. The oppressive, depressed 'doom' feeling is mostly gone. Not perfect, but the best so far."

"I’m a 41-year-old man who had gone through a very tough time for the last three years. I felt that my life was pointless, that I was only here to be punished. I thought that I had tried my best, but my best was just not good enough. I was hopeless and I thought that I had no future worth fighting for. I didn’t believe a medicine could fix my situation. I thought I was going to have to take some type of narcotic that was nothing more than a 'ball and chain'. I spoke with someone who had recommended I go and get help, at least try to and see what happens. I scheduled with a local place, had taken a few tests and had a few conversations about myself. I was diagnosed with severe depression. I was prescribed Auvelity and instructed to take it as prescribed. After just one week, I feel completely different in a positive way. "I have tried almost every antidepressant there is to no avail. I was scouring the internet because I knew there had to be something different. At my next psychiatry appointment, I asked about Auvelity because I had read how well it worked and my doc was fully on board. When I first began taking it, it honestly made me feel weird, but I didn’t want to stop. So I asked my doctor about taking it at night, and she said yes, that’s perfectly fine, and I went down to 1 pill. This small change has helped tremendously, and I no longer have side effects, but I still feel like I need something more, so I am going to try taking the second pill in the morning, and I really feel like that will get me over the proverbial hump. I also take Vyvanse for ADHD, Lexapro (which I plan on getting off of), and Trazodone for sleep. I think I have found what works for me finally."

"Complete life-changer. After 40 years of trying multiple treatments, including ECT, this med works wonderfully. By virtually eliminating my depression (rumination, negative self-talk, hopelessness), the anxiety also disappeared. After decades of ingesting all sorts of chemical cocktails to treat depression, I now take only Auvelity, amlodipine, and vitamin D3, and honestly, have never felt better. Only ECT has worked this well for me. My Sjogren's symptoms are not as aggravating, and life itself is much brighter. I felt Auvelity working within a week and have been taking it twice a day for 4 months now. The only “side effect” has been that I need to take the second dose at least 8 hours before bed or I can get jittery when unwinding for the night."

"Started taking this medicine 6 days ago. It started making a difference today because I usually wake up around 3:30 ruminating and very depressed. This morning was much better. I didn't have the negative thoughts as bad and could let go of the rumination. However, after my second dose today, I'm super dizzy and irritable, so I'm hoping that goes away. I had a great day today, and I think it may be working, just not sure if the dizziness is from this medicine or the discontinuation of my Lexapro."

"This stuff is amazing. I'm actually taking Wellbutrin 150 mg 2/day and 30 mg pure DXM tabs 2/day for a couple of months now. I'm 51. I've tried Zoloft, Paxil, was on Lexapro for many years, but nothing even comes close to this - cough medicine! I discovered this Wellbutrin/DMX combo by accident when I had a nasty cold and was taking DXM on top of the Wellbutrin. The negative self-talk, the depression, the suicidal ideation, all went away. I hope it continues!!"

"I was on Wellbutrin for years for mild depression and severe ADHD. It helped keep me motivated and more organized than usual. I started Auvelity a week ago and do think it is helping. I generally feel less negative and worried. Less rumination in my head. But physically, I have had side effects and don't think I can increase to the full dose. I feel a little dissociated 1-2 hours after taking it - light-headed, trouble concentrating, physically buzzy and loopy. Once that passes, I feel a slight nausea come and go throughout the day. I also yawn a lot. I'll give it a month at 1 tablet and see how it goes."

"Is working marvelously. Started taking February 2023 for MDD, suicidality, utter hopelessness. More or less in bed, out of sight, for over 3 years. Developed diabetes while in bed and gained a bunch of weight. Auvelity has completely turned my life around. I could feel it working a few hours after the first dose. Soon I found my BP had risen like 15 percent or so, not a huge amount, and I could totally FEEL the blood pressure at my wrists. It was weird and unsettling. My heart rate went up a bit. I had a big panic attack within 2 weeks. First one ever. My doctor said to stick with the Auvelity and I said ok because I was getting HUGE relief from the stupefying depression. Sure enough the side effects went away. I had heard that side effects could go away and I was skeptical but it was true for me. I really can't pin a single side effect on Auvelity."
